The quality of the food is consistently excellent, which is why the restaurant is always buzzing with both locals and visitors. Despite how busy it gets, the staff are friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming, making the experience feel warm and personal. Even when there’s a line, it moves quickly, and the servers stay attentive. Well worth the wait. For the amount of food you get—and the level of quality—the pricing is very reasonable. You leave full and happy without feeling like you overpaid. Overall, El Fogón delivers everything people say it does: authentic dishes, great service, fair prices, and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended whether you’re grabbing a casual bite or want a true taste of local cuisine. The nachos, simplistic yet so delicious, and tacos are our go-tos. Although, there are a few in the area, Av. Constituyentes location, is by far our favourite. ¡Buen provecho! 😊

El Fogon came highly recommended. This was our 2nd visit. Everytime we mentioned to locals that we were going there, they were excited for us to experience it. We enjoyed the food and the service was very friendly! If you aren't from the area and want authentic Rivera Maya Mexican food, this is the place!

Great food. not cheap, maybe cheap for playa del carmen. 3 people we paid 50 usd. Food was amazing. We had tacos, special meat of the house with tacos, quesadilla which was one of the best. 2 fruit juice and water. Service was fast and friendly. Not to many people as it was early.

Really good food, I ordered “la gringa with bistec”really juice and meat was tender. Seating area is a bit smoky. service is great and food came fast. no dogs allowed inside. There is some parking on the side but it’s a busy street so maybe if you’re lucky. Definitely recommend for a quick tasty bite.

El Fagon is the undisputed king of tacos here in PDC you literally can't go wrong with any of the options. Make sure you try everything without cheese and then once with cheese. Guac is pricey but worth it and get the onions. Price wise it's about $2-5 dollars depending on what you get. But feel confidence ur getting a good price for the product!

The best food experience of my 6-day trip in Playa del Carmen. Great food, reasonable prices, and very generous portions. The complimentary soup was a nice touch. We did wait about 15 minutes in line at night, but it was worth it.

This place is Michelin rated in both 2024 and 2025. The absolute best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten ate. Really nice staff, amazing food, generous portions, and really affordable. Highly recommend this place and it is on my "must return" list

We were recommended El Fogon by a local whilst on holiday and we were so grateful, it has the most delicious authentic food, low cost, so much flavour and so many options! My absolute favourite of the things we had was the Chorizo Tacos, I definitely recommend trying a few things from the menu if you can.
