This place simply exceeded expectations. We came here on a whim and wanted to have a patio and some margaritas - we managed to acquire both. What I can say that I enjoyed the most is the vibe. I literally felt like I was in Key West again. We went around this time last year, and we had so much fun. The lights, the people watching, and the general ambiance just took us back to our vacation. I could totally soak this up so much more.
There is literally nothing to say bad about it. We both enjoyed the food we had and the pitcher of margaritas. I am not going to pretend and say it is cost effective. We paid a hefty penny for the pitcher, but it got the job done for Taco Tuesday. We loved the food. I enjoyed the salsa the most because it was fresh and didn't have a kick to it that would affect me later. I think it had a hint of heat, but in a good way. The tacos were superb. I got 3 steak tacos to keep matters simple that were prepared street style. My significant other got the El Fuego special that consists of chicken, rice, & queso all with Cajun seasoning. He doesn't require a lot to make him happy. Plus, he is very gringo when it comes to some food. I love him anyway.
We sat outside and you order from the outside bar. Seating is first come, first serve when eating outside. I really wanted to enjoy the outside since it was not super humid tonight. People watching is the best part of the dining experience if that is something you enjoy. I love people watching, and El Fuego is perfect for it. One warning I would give is that tables outside fill up and you will be approached by bold people to ask you when you are forfeiting your table. We were almost done and had 3 people approach us for when we would be done. That might not sit well for some, but we didn't mind. Plus, they will not serve you if you do not have a table already established. We got here around 6:45pm and were able to secure a spot without issue. The later you come, the harder that becomes an issue to secure a space outside... or at least on Taco Tuesday.
No complaints here from me. I want to come back. It is worth the trek, the havoc, and the "musical picnic tables" you might run into.
