Great cuts of meat! Very helpful staff.

First, I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a really long time but it is quite a commute from my home to this restaurant. So we finally decided to go and when we did; I just say we will definitely be back. The service was amazing Juliet was so nice,friendly and helpful. The place is also very family friendly which is a nice because sometimes restaurants are not child friendly. This place also had the heat going which is good as well because in the winter sometimes you are unable to eat at a comfortable temperature. Now the food; we ordered half a pitcher of red sangria and a paradilla with everything for one person. The paradilla was good and the sausage meat were also good. I would say it was lot of organ meat for us so next time we would do only the meat paradilla and add chorizo to it. In addition we ordered the boiled potatoes which were also good. We had the spinach cannoli and Imee had it with a mixed sauce. This dish was very good but for me the noodles were on the soft side but their pasta is homemade so I would try another pasta dish when I come back. The empanadas were really good and I liked the beef ones better than the chicken ones. This place was great and I would definitely come back.

This place was pretty awesome! I booked a large table the Tuesday after the World Cup, thought it would be a proper visit since Argentina ended up winning the World Cup so this was my homage to Argentina. The restaurant was comfortable and the food was cooked well, you could really smell the meat wafting through the air. I really enjoyed how well everything was cooked and those platters really are showstoppers. Their chimi was great, super flavorful and went really well with all the meat but later on I felt the chimi came off salty since I was chugging down water. The food: Empanadas de Carne al Horno- These baked empanadas were amazing, it was the item that surprised me the most. I tried the chicken version as well but the carne one was easily the better option. These had the perfect crust and I really enjoyed the filling. This is an absolute must! Ensalada El Gauchito- This was just to get some greens in the system. It was a good salad and I really liked the arugula but the menu said it was for 2 people, it really is more for 3 to be honest. The Completa here was good and I thought the mix of items was great. My fav items on the mixed grill was the morcilla, the short rib, and the skirt steak. The chorizo was more simple than I was expecting and I thought it would have been more heavily spiced. The sweet bread was cooked well, it had a nice char on the outside for some added crunch, the kidney was better than expected, they were cleaned nicely and only had an innard funk upfront. This had a trio of meats from the strip loin, the skirt steak and the flap steak. I thought the strip loin was great, cooked well and tender. The skirt steak was excellent, super tender and great flavor, the flap steak was oddly easy to cut but I found to be more chewy than expected. This is a must get. Yuca Frita- These were great, they were friedly perfectly and they were so light. I also, loved the dipping sauce it came with. Papas Fritas- The fries were made well, nice and crunchy without being oily, these were so light and fluffy. I think for sides, the maduros, yuca frita, and papas fritas should all be ordered. Ensalada Russ- I was really excited to try this since I have had it at other Spanish steakhouses and the one here was kinda bland. I also didn't like how firm the potatoes were, normally there is a creaminess to the salad but this salad wasn't cohesive at all.

Buenisimo! Came here on a Saturday night around 6 and was seated right away with a party of 7. I already knew what I wanted- la Parillada completa. It was excellent.

Amazing food for under $60 for two people. Fri sat n sun are busy. Food was great and service was great.

I go there specifically for there empanadas . I absoluto Love them ! The down side is if I buy 10 I'll eat 5 of them on my drive home.

I definitely recommend coming to this place for authentic Argentinian food! We had espadas as appetizers and they were delicious! A great start to our dinner. Next we order asado completo which came with a little of everything from meats, sausage, to blood sausages! All were delicious, however it was a lot of food. We left completely happy with filled stomachs. The ambiance is a classic Argentinian restaurant which means small but with great music and service. I definitely recommend people trying for a Argentinian cuisine.

The review is for the butcher shop only: as we were in the area, we decided to swing by to try getting it's highly recommended skirts steak by my daughter and her boyfriend. I heard good reviews and been tasted it multiple times whenever daughter's boyfriend bring in the house to bbq. Just simply adding salt and pepper is what it needed and you'll love the taste of the juiciest and most tender meat you have ever tried. This Argentinian restaurant and butcher shop is a staple in Corona and I understand why. The cut is what makes this meat at high pricing level but every inch of the meat is well worth of each penny. What surprised me more is the price of the alfajores, it's a rip off. Will come back for the dining experience. I

Service has deteriorated quite significantly. Quality of their food has become average and after overhearing how rude one can be to a customer, I honestly have decided to look elsewhere. A place where the quality of service, is on par with their food. Empanadas and sandwiches are still good. Which at the end of the day, is just merely a snack if that what you're looking for.

Great ambiance for a restaurant. Since they are also a butcher, you can see where your meat comes from. The beautiful marbleized meat as you enter the restaurant start making you hungry even it's not cooked. We had the skirt steak. It was just right! The service was nice and they were attentive to our needs.

Horrible butcher service. They don't pay attention to your order and leave stuff behind after you paid for it. And forget about talking to a manager. He pays less attention than the butchers do.

What a feast! We used UberEATS to order an Argentinian Parrillada for two (mixed meat grill) to celebrate the Monsieur's birthday. This was our first time ever ordering a Parrillada for delivery so we were a bit nervous, but everything turned out perfect. The delivery time was reasonable and the packaging of our food was neat and efficient. The mixed grill includes a a lavish selection of meats: a variety of sausages, sweet bread, short tripe, short ribs, and skirt steak. You also get to choose the preparation of the meat (make sure to choose Medium Rare, I Promise you'll thank me later!). You'll get two sides, we chose the French fries and the Russian Salad. Also don't forget to add a few empanadas, they're so yummy! Overall the meal was festive, delicious and fun all in the privacy of our own home. The best part was that we had enough leftovers to last us for two meals. For $68.89 this is an absolute must.

My family has been going there for decades but the service and the meat quality has been declining for a while. This past Sunday was the last straw. This place has 2 sections a restaurant side and the butcher side with seating that looks more casual like a deli. I've never seen anyone eat on the butcher side until yesterday. My mom wanted to go for her birthday yesterday, there were 3 of us and we were told we could not sit in the restaurant despite several empty tables. I've only sat in the restaurant my entire life, my mom as well. I told the waiter I wanted to wait for the restaurant side then he brings out then the owners son. A condescending, rude and pushy little man that just looks like an annoying prick. He came out pushy AF and called us guys(3 women) and said the tables available are only for large parties. So we sat on the butcher side for the first and last time. Ordered molleja, morcilla and entrana. The only reason to come here is the molleja, morcilla, and chimichurri. I've had better beef from other places. The entrana was kind of tuff and salty. We had Sangria which was ok but I've had better. The molleja was good this time, it can be hit or miss with their molleja sometimes it's salty and burned. The sides are pretty plain and lackluster, green salad, mashed potato and maduros. Had flan and coffee for dessert and the waitstaff sang happy birthday to my mom. So now I'm done with this place and found a few Argentinian spots to try in Manhattan, NJ, Brooklyn and LIC.

My wife and I have been introduced to skirt steak by the boyfriend of my daughter and this is where he gets his skirt steaks. Today we visited this Argentinian place and bought some top quality skirt steaks and spicy sausages. The seller was very nice and accommodated us very well, the place is a combination butcher shop at the back and a restaurant at the front. I have tremendously enjoyed their grilled steak whenever my daughter and her boyfriend brings it for dinner. Now my wife and I are hooked to skirt steak because of this place. I recommend this place for anyone planning to buy top quality beef with Argentine-style cuts for grilling. They have a business location at Corona, Queens and at Fresh meadows, Queens.

I ordered delivery several time from this restaurant and about a month ago i found a hair in the food but i wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since mistakes can happen. Unfortunately, now it is the second time that i received again their food with hair and it makes me doubt the overall cleanliness of the establishment. Very disappointed

Opened with cheese and salami, and bread. Chimichurri was present throughout. Enjoyed an order of empanadas, some beef and chicken. Service was good. A nice ribeye steak cooked medium rare, the steak has a nice, rich flavor to it. Throughout a good bottle of Argentinian Malbec from Alamos was a fine complement, taking its interesting journey while remaining fruity in the dark fruit way. The place was nice, casual, small yet cozy.

As an Argentine myself, meat is one of our main connection to our roots. I think that I've been here at least 3 times each year since 2018. There are times you come in and there is a long line that moves rather fast, and there's times where it's a full house yet, no line. The place is divided into two sides, they also have an on-site butcher shop, which you can sight as soon as you walk in. They sell Mates, alfajor and other soccer items and flags. Food is really delicious. They cook the meat according to your liking. Sides are incredible as well, I love their Ensalada Rusa. Can never go wrong! They give you a on the house app, something to have as soon as you sit and you place your order, which is some sort of appetizer for better discription as; a thin sliced salami & cheese marinated in an oil with bread on the side. A little downside is their bathroom, is quite small, there is room for improvement in this area definitely. Also, pretty recently, I went and ordered the usual, "solo carne para dos" and most often, we take home a lot of meat this time I think they changed the amount of meat and it seemed to me it was no longer a lbs of meat. Maybe we were hungrier than ever that day! Haha! Don't know! None the less, great food, and great desserts as well , my favorite is -flan con dulce de leche -

Recently visited El Gauchito and had an incredible experience. My brother and I had chicken and beef empanadas, beef milanesa a la fugazzeta, and the mixed grill (Parilladas Completa). Everything was amazing - the portions were sizable, the food was mind-blowingly delicious, and the service was quick and very friendly. Quality was outstanding, absolutely worth the price. Will definitely be coming back here again.

I can't even begin to describe how delicious their steaks are here - every bite is as good as the first. Slightly blackened on the outside, but so juicy and flavorful on the inside, resulting in the perfect (don't make fun of me) mouthfeel. Try their homemade pastas and sangria, too! Yum~ My boyfriend says their butcher shop is where he picks up all his barbecue meats to grill in the summer, and now I understand why it's always so good! A hidden gem, El Gauchito is a great low-key and family-oriented Argentinian steakhouse tucked away in Elmhurst that I would love to see more attention given to.

I've been on a search for a really good skirt steak ever since our favorite steakhouse closed down. Found this place online via reviews and decided to give them a try. I didn't actually visit the restaurant so this review is really only for the food. Ordered from there twice so far via Door Dash and both times everything was good. Food was packaged nicely so no spills and the delivery was quick so food was still hot which of course is great. The food was delicious. So far tried the pork chops, skirt steak, and the shrimp and rice. Everything was cooked perfect and tasted great. Also tried the fried provolone from the apps and that was really good as well. We'll have to try out eating there soon as well.

Been going to The Gauchito for years ever since I can remember and have been treated with the upmost hospitality until the past Saturday. Called and placed an order to go, 5 minutes later we were already there and my husband and son decided to eat in (and have some sangria as well.) Once we arrived we let the waitress know that we planed to eat in and she said she we could not do that since the order was already made as a take out order. I proceeded to let her know that we just called it in and she said we could not stay and eat in. There was definitely available sitting. I asked her if I could please speak to the manager and a woman appeared from the back (not the usual pleasant male manager.) She stated that we could not change our order to stay and I said you can't cancel it and we'll reorder it and stay in because we wanted to stay in order more food along with sangria. She rudely said that this was not a bar. I was completely taken back and said but we ordered she said we could wait for our food but to sit we had to order empanadas to drink sangria. In the end the whole "the whole this is not a bar" was so unnecessary when I am a customer who clearly ordered food. Definitely left a very bad taste in my mouth after the form of arrogance my family and I were treated with. Sad to say but I doubt I'll be back.

It was my first time eating at an Argentinian restaurant & I loved it! I ordered the Parrillada Completa! An Argentinian Classic Mixed Grill: - Black Sausage - Sausage - Frankfurter - Sweet Bread Short Ribs - Kidney - Skirt Steak {Don't forget to ask for chimichurri!} For appetizers I recommend both the pollo (chicken) & carne (meat) empanadas! It's a must!

Well yesterday was my 3rd. time their. First time I wanted Mussels with linguine and was told that the chief would not change the menu. They have Mussels with rice. even though they offer Mussels in Garlic Sauces. I had Pork chops instead nothing to write home about just pork chops. 2nd. time I had some thing I forgot. last night I had the Ribeye stake which was good but fatty 1/4 left on plate was fat. Rice and beans, and a glass of wine which was very good. I was amazed that I was not offered water while the other tables were given water and if your going to say why didn't you ask for it , you shouldn't have to ask for water in this type of place with its price point. FYI: I do not speak Spanish the wait staff was very good except for the water. I will be back food overall very good.

After driving pass El Gauchito numerous times, we finally decided to give it a try as it appeared ideal to satisfy our steak craving. Parking around that area is terrible, be prepared to drive around. When we entered the restaurant at around 2 pm the place was packed. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman and seated immediately. Before I go onto to the food, it's imperative that I mentioned their outstanding customer service. We were waited on by basically anyone who walked passed us, which ends up working out because someone is constantly checking in on the table. We were very impressed with how courteous and attentive everyone is. Now onto the food: Skirt steak with side of sweet plantains: skirt steak is a huge portions, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Chicken milanesa with ham and cheese: such a large portion, the chicken is breaded, ALOT of cheese, too much for me, ideal for a cheese lover, this came with rice and black beans, the black beans were delish. Sides: cream cauliflower, so this is delicious but prob 1 million calories, def a good appetizer to share. We also got a side of fries which were crispy. They give you this delicious bread and tomatoes and cheese with pesto sauce as a starters. This was AMAZING! Overall we had a great Sunday lunch and we look for arc to coming back here! One of the best Argentinian steakhouse in queens. Everytime I go it never dissapoints. Ambiance is great it feels like you are eating in Argentina. Service is great and the wine selection is very very good.

I use to love this place but I tried making a reservation for 7 people, but I was told "they only make reservations for 10 people and above" ??? I've never heard of a rule like this. Not to mention the person I spoke to was really rude, almost as if this person wanted nothing to do with my business Really disappointed that I can't go back there unless I meet their absurd conditions!!!

I came back to this place, this time my experience was better! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet! I am not much of a beef eater, and many places where I have ordered steak well done, have always disappoint me. YES I know! Meat cookers dont really like serving well done steaks, most of the times it results in a dry piece of meat. But in this place...MY GOD! That well done steak! My god! Juicy and flavorful! nicely seasoned, maybe a bit salty, but otherwise PERFECTLY well done. We also had beef ravioli, and that was very very salty, the tostones sauce was also salty, but had good flavor. Regardless the experience this time Mwas way above expected. THANK U!

I hate leaving bad reviews but this was a NO for me. The food was greasy and bland. I won't be back

I've been coming here for about 15 years and after all these years this is still my favorite Argentine restaurant and butcher if you want to BBQ. That said, after weeks of not eating out due to COVID and going in to order meat to cook to go I was reminded how great their food and especially morcilla is!!! This made my day and they were so nice and I got to take empanadas to go as well that were pre-made ; 6 empanadas for $6, chimi meat sausage and entraña and everything was so fresh! When you eat there, the bread is always fresh and they give you a nice free app of tomato cheese and salami with a side of wine and their parrillada is a perfect lunch !

I Love El Gauchito! Been coming here since I was a kid. It's a real home made cooking. The Ensalada de Rusa is absolutely the BESSSSSST! My other favs are also La entraña, choripan ( the bread is a little big for the sausage in my opinion) and the short ribs. This is a must place to sit, eat and enjoy! And grab a little authentic Argentinian products on your way out. Part owner, Marcello is awesome! He'ssuper nice and helpful.

I love this argentina spot. Here you can find the best beef ever. I love the appetizer they gave you for start with their special bread. The sangria is amazing not to sweet it taste more wine which for me is the best. I don't like the sangria with sugar taste horrible and to sweet. Here they make it perfect. The server are great and the owner is very nice with his costumer. I really love this place.

This place is superb for Argentinian Steaks! It has a great variety of steaks and they were all cooked to the point. The portion is big and enough to satiate your hunger for steaks. I ordered an order of parrillada for one, which is a parrillada with variety of meat. Salad came as a side dish. The appetizers were delish and well made as well. I believe they offered free bread and butter; and a free dish of meat in some kind of oil. I ordered pineapple juice in milk as a drink and it was delish In terms of service, it was great. The waiters were attentive and made sure all your needs were covered The restaurant has murals of famous Argentinians like: Batistuta, Messi, and others. It was a great decor!

My wife and I visited yesterday, and it's the first restaurant we visit in months. We are so happy the food is still great and that the staff is taking all precautions. My only problem is Gustavo Cerati being in a corner. Please, to the owner. Don't put him that far. The empanadas and the bife are my favorites.

Everything I go there, food never disappoints. They have a different selection of meats and for a good price. The service is always great and the environment is nice as well. The chimichurri sauce amazing, could never get enough of it.

My friend always gets her meats + empanadas from the butcher shop portion of El Gauchito. I've had it multiple times at her house and always asked where it is from. Finally, I made the journey over to El Gauchito. Parking is a bit on the harder side so it helps to have someone go with you. I went inside and was greeted by the workers. I think the owner or manager was there as well sitting. I asked about the empanadas and he made sure to tell me that the cheese empanadas also contained ham. I thought that was very helpful in case someone doesn't eat ham. The five flavors of empanadas they have include: spinach, beef, chicken, ham and cheese, and corn. They come in a order of 6 empanadas. I ordered each flavor and kept it in my freezer for when I wanted something to snack on. I also had their milanesa de pollo (chicken milanese). They also have beef milanesa as well. I think they were about $7/lb and each pound is about 2-3 slices (at least for the chicken). I've tried their other cuts of meat and can honestly say that they are full of flavor and delicious! El Gauchito will be my go-to place for milanesas and empanadas as well as other cuts of meat when I have a bbq.

Be careful spending your money here. Let's start with the drinks, ordered a Margarita which was very watered down and weak. Ordered the Churrasco Medium well, it was delivered to our table Rare. We sent it back and waited a half hour just to receive the same meat, this time it was cooked Medium Rare. The couple we dined with had the same issue with the meat they ordered. Ownership-Managers were no help, they would rather argue with a customer who was dropping down $400. Think twice before dining here. No hospitality, no ownership, no emphaty for our kids.

Wow! If you want to check out the most authentic Argentinian cuisine in NYC this is the place to go. When you first enter the restaurant it is divided into two parts, the butcher shop and then the restaurant. My mouth was watering walking past the selection of fresh meats that I will soon devour! ( yes, I'm a carnivore.) My boyfriend and I were greeted warmly by the owner Marcelo and seated promptly. We were served menus that have a variety to choose from, soups, meat platters, sandwiches and side dishes. We decided on the parrilliada, which is a meat platter served on a small grill. On the side we chose Russian potato salad and a bottle of red wine to compliment the food that the owner recommend. Wow! the food was amazing . All the meats tasted fresh, lightly seasoned to enjoy and very tender. Now, don't get me started with the dessert. I decide to try the Dulce de leche mousse. In Argentina, Dulce de leche is one of the most popular sweets as i was told. But this mousse, after every bite I said "omg." It is hands down one of the best desserts I ever tried at a restaurant. I can write essays about how amazing it is. To sum it up, it's light, delicate, sweet, and enjoyable! You don't feel guilty eating this! I highly recommend this dessert. I told so many people about the mousse that they only want to visit because of the dessert. The staff is amazing. Very organized and made sure we were taken care of during our visit. I would love to bring my family and friends here for all occasions in the near future Thank you El Gauchito!

The food is great but don't get the food delivered from here it is tooo expensive for a tiny salad it costed $9.99 for that i can go order at chivito de oro

This Argentinian Steak House Restaurant is very small and I had a 20 minute wait before being seated and It was all worth it !!! I ordered the Parillada and the Entrana ; a selection of grilled meats from skirt steak to blood sausages,grilled liver and grilled chicken breast. My sides included fried plantains, french fries and mashed potatoes. Everything was grilled to a perfect temperature with and amazing grilled taste. I ordered a nice Cabernet Sauvignon to enjoy with all of my meat selection. Everything was exceptional from the service to the food .

If I could zero stars I would. Literally WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!! Our server checked on us one time and that was to drop the food off and leave. we had to ask for water in the water glasses provided on the table and then they only filled it once and never again. The food was only okay too. The Bolognese sauce was oddly sweet and not in a good way. My boyfriends steak was very fatty too. Overall not a good experience and I don't really rescind anyone to go here

Not so great...Just ok and average. Chicken cutlets not edible and overfried. They were out of chicken empanadas at 1:30pm. Budín de Pan was hard. Cold matambrenwas ok...steak was tough and my friend left 3/4 of it.

Came here today for some chorizo and skirt steak. They trimmed my steak up nicely. Also got some of their world class chimichurri sauce. Haven't been to the restaurant yet, just the butcher shop. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back!!

Great meat selection, generous portions, nice affordable wine, and friendly service. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place regardless of seating outside. The sauce for the steak was remarkable!

This is all about the grilled meat. The steaks are pretty good and cooked nicley. Watch out for the cheaper cuts of meat which when grilled it can be tough and chewy. That was the case with the short ribs. It took a lot of chewing and jaw got a little tired. Russian Potato salad is just your basic potatoes salad with mayo. Nice place. Good service

This place is truly a gem. I have been here a couple of times (pre-covid); really enjoyed their entraña and beef empanadas. Today, I was finally able to go back and I felt like this place went up ten notches. They gave us a basket of soft toasted bread (not little slices of bread, but whole mini rolls; so good!) and a complimentary mini appetizer (tomatoes and folded cheese/salami slices with a yummy pesto sauce). I ordered the asado de tira (short ribs), which came with one side (I chose the ensalada rusa - aka potato salad). It was the BEST steak I've had in a while; tender, juicy, nicely seared. And the ensalada rusa was delicious as well. The staff was also very nice and attentive; we sat outside, and they came around to check on us many times. It was also a surprisingly hot day, so they kept bringing us mini buckets of ice in case our drinks became hot. Overall, it was great and I can't wait to go back.

Came here last night for a little birthday celebration. Food was delicious - ordered the house sampler for 2. Skirt steak, shell steak, blood sausage, gizzard cooked perfectly. The service was quick, waited a little bit for the food but hey it was fresh so the wait was worth every minute. The sangria OH the SANGRIA let me tell you, it was strong and magical. I have a pretty high tolerance I would say and after 2 glasses I was definitely feeling good LOL.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants to go to not anymore!!!! I went there like about two weeks ago and the food was mediocre severe maybe chef is having a bad day. So I decided to take my dad and his wife from my dad's birthday he came from Florida because he was dying to try this restaurant. well we got sat down. 15 minutes before anyone came over to asks us for our order. Never got any water I ordered these beef Croquettes when they brought me over the order the meat was RAW They took it back and again they put it to me bro then this is the to give me a complementary desert never got it. The skirt steak tasted weird and very small. Won't be going back bad food

A decent sized restaurant that always seems to have clients the place has a kitschy vibe that is inviting. I was really in the mood for a steak sandwich with chimichurri sauce (A spicy oil-and-vinegar-based garlic sauce, usually green but sometimes red, often used as a marinade) and knew this place would deliver. Fortunately, I speak Spanish and was able to ask for it since it wasn't listed on the menu -- I was told folks usually take this order to go -- but hey, I wanted to sit and chill and what better way to do that than with a side order of fries and Sangria to accompany my sandwich? It was delicious -- crispy bread, perfectly done meat, and crunchy french fries -- how does it get better? If you've worked up a real appetite you could also go for the parillada which is like your own little in-door bbq. I would have given this place 5 stars if it weren't for the bad service (maybe my waiter was having an off day? ) -- either way I had to ask for water three separate times and my french fry order came late because he forgot to put it in. Good thing that the food was great and well priced because ultimately that is what really counts.
