23 Top Restaurants in Jackson Heights, Queens | Eater NY

"This bright blue truck named after Ecuador’s great seaside port parked just off Roosevelt Avenue is a rolling picanteria, a lunch wagon with all-in meals and soups perfect for your noon or afternoon repast. Some of the food sold here isn’t generally available at the Ecuadorian restaurants that line Roosevelt Avenue, including a wonderful blood sausage soup (“caldo de salsicha”)" - Robert Sietsema

13 Great Ceviches In NYC

"Here are two Jackson Heights rules to live by: always bring an extra tote for impromptu produce pickups, and always say yes when the person on the El Guayaquileño truck asks if you want lemon juice in your ceviche. This Ecuadorian food truck is just two blocks north of Birria-Landia on 80th & Roosevelt Avenue, and serves some of our favorite fish and shrimp ceviches anywhere in the city. We recommend coming with a friend and ordering both, which gets you two small styrofoam bowls filled to the brim with lots of cilantro, onion, and cancha. But no matter what, you should always save room for a creamy cup of jugo de coco with lots of natural sweetness to help balance out the acidity." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, carlo mantuano

Omg!!! I freaking love this restaurant! My mothers side is from Guayaquil & I always loved her & my grandmothers food until I came here. Their service is great! So far their dishes are almost better than my grandmothers cooking and that’s a lot coming from someone who only use to eat homemade Ecuadorian food. I can’t wait to try all of their dishes! I came on a Sat. night for the first time and it was so good I came back on a Monday night lol!

The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: The restaurant's exterior and interior are well organized. Clean for the most part. However, the music they have there makes it feel like you're not in a restaurant but in a nightclub. Service: Honestly, service was okay. I went there because my cousin invited me. I did not feel like the waitress went beyond to make us feel at home. In other words, it was an average service. Food: I ordered the Guatita, and my cousin ordered the Encebollado De Pescado. They tasted okay, neither bad nor good. I felt like something was missing, probably a little more flavor. Price: It could just be my personal point of view. Considering the factors mentioned above, I think their prices are kind of high. You can go ahead and experience it yourself. You may have a different point of view.

Excellent and fresh Ecuadorian food, we always order lunch special, they have a variety of dishes and all tasty, most of the dishes are coast side of the county style. Cold oatmeal Ecuadorian style is delicious and very recommended. We always go back.

My first time there (I go to my mom if I want ecuadorian dishes). I was truly satisfied with the combo guayaquileño dish. The bolon had the perfect amount of chicharron while the beef, it's sauce and the two sunny sides gave it the expected flavors of that dish. Had the quaker. Wow! Never had it w the maracuya. Delicious. The morocho was also great. There were 8 of us there and we were all completely satisfied! Staff were great too. Friendly and always checked in on us. Definitely will go again soon!

Google
Nice clean place ... but coming from an Ecuadorian background I was not to please with the place .. ceviche was very bland although they give you lime juice on the side I made due and came with nothing for a side had to order a side of fried plantains ... guatite came with rice and a want to be maduro which was not sweet at all this usual dish comes with onions but this one did not and had to order a side of it and pay extra. Have to say I drove a long way to come and mostly likely not be returning.

This place was terrible. Overpriced and food was not fresh. I ordered Caldo de Salchicha and it was salty it didn’t have cilantro it had scallions!! They also served it with rice? This caldo is not served with a side of rice. They did not give me limes either. I told the waitress and she said the cook tasted it and it wasn’t! Didn’t even offer an apology or an option to change my dish. This caldo also had a pigs feet in it…?!! The quaker wasn’t a Quaker it was too watery. The food presentation was awful I ordered a carne asada with plantains. The one piece of meat was in a plate 4 tostones in a bowl. In other restaurants all meats come with a salad. And the waitress was sweeping right next to our table lifting the dust up…. Just terrible the food was not authentic what a disappointment. I was really looking forward to eating at this place. I came from far … don’t go to this place! Oh and on top of that they wanted $ 18.00 - $25.00 tip!!! lol the nerves…

Ordered on Grubhub. Honestly the shrimp ceviche tasted badddd like it was expired. Maybe the shrimp. The tripe no flavor and the bollo de pescado same lacking flavor. My 2 year old didn't want to eat it. He was complaining and that's his favorite dish! The hot sauce is good but can't order again. Sad.

Google
The food is excellent in every way! “James Cordero” I think your mom issue is way more critical if the food taste like semen to her 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You’ve been living a lie James.

Yelp
I'm sorry for this review, the food was bad, not worth you coming at all. The service was nice but the food was not good and too expensive for tasting bad. I hope this goes as constructive criticism to the restaurant. They can improve a lot.

Yelp
We ordered the carne asada, a yapingacho and a seco de Chivo. The food was delicious and authentic. I wish they had given me a steak knife for my carne asada, and extra utensils for my children. There were no high chairs, overall the service needs improvement.

Yelp
First of all, beware of the Google maps location of this place, it is showing an incorrect destination. The actual physical restaurant location is on Corona Ave, south side of the street, 1/4 block west of Junction Boulevard. I've been there twice and the food was excellent both times. I can't remember the name of the dishes I had, but they were both excellent. There is also a special beverage available that is something like rice milk--awesome. Nice people working there also.

Yelp
Not a good restaurant. We were seated and said that we were paying separately but they told us we can't since we all sat together, we would have to call the waiter every time we need her, the tables were cramped, and in the end the food wasn't even good. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
There should be an option for no or negative stars for places like this. I ordered take out and got the hen stew over rice. I paid $13 for a single chicken wing in a half container of sauce. I wished I looked in to the bag before I left because I honestly thought they forgot the rest of the order when I go home! 1 single chicken wing for $13! No potatoes, nothing. This place is a joke. Avoid at all cost.

Yelp
I happened to be in the mood to explore street food one Sunday, and I decided I'd try some from a big truck that looks like they've been in the business for a long time. Their truck's parked a block away from the Junction Boulevard stop of the 7 train. I had encebollado con pescado (not sure of the spelling but I'm sure it has raw onions with fish) which is a stew. it tasted great! i just think it's a bit pricey for such a small serving. all around the corner, a lot of hispanics were sharing the moment with me as we shared time enjoying our meals....

Yelp
I'm ecuadorian and I can't complain about the food, is pretty damn good, it just needs better decoration on the place

Yelp
As a fellow ecuadorian I don't understand why the food here is so expensive it's like not even worth it they give you a small bowl of seco de pollo for like $10.50 really dude? For that id rather stay home and eat my moms cooking it's the same damn thing! Smh
