Everything here from the frijoles to the café olla exudes comfort. The large plate comes with a serving of red chilaquiles with a smoky, savory salsa roja, queso cotija, and a generous drizzle of crema. For a hearty morning I go for their breakfasts â chilaquiles, huevos divorciados, or a heaping pile of shredded beef with eggs (machaca con huevos) â and as the weather cools a caldo (try caldo de res, pozole, or menudo) is perfect. A serving of cheesy queso fundido with chorizo is always worth it, as are the tacos made with house-made tortillas; the massive menu also includes birria de chivo, carne asada with grilled cactus, enchiladas, tortas, and daily aguas frescas.
