"When in Hialeah, try El Indio to satisfy those pastelito cravings. Enjoy a quick snack or create a box of all varieties, including ground beef, cheese, guava, coconut, and chorizo, to eat later, or treat family, friends, and co-workers." - Stacy A. Moya

"El Indio adds some delicious competition to the Hialeah Cuban bakery scene. They have the typical stuff, but they are known for their pan con chicharron (Cuban bread with pork cracklings mixed in). Hurry here before lunch because it sells out quickly. The desserts are also great. Our favorites are the tres leches cake—it’s super moist, not too sweet, and the meringue is silky smooth. "El Indio has some history with Casa Potin. The story goes that a baker from Casa Potin quit, only to start their own rival shop a couple blocks away. Our sources are completely unreliable and this may be totally false, but who doesn’t love some good ol’ fashioned chisme? In any case, El Indio adds some delicious competition to the Hialeah Cuban bakery scene. They have the typical stuff, but they are known for their pan con chicharrón (Cuban bread with pork crackling mixed in). Hurry here before lunch because it sells out quickly. The desserts are also great. Our favorites are the tres leches cake—it’s super moist, not too sweet, and the meringue is silky smooth." - Yuliet Llanes

09/04/2023 This is one corner that it has been here forever. Great job on the Cuban bread. Great guava pastry and coconut as well. Good birthday deal, including cake, sandwiches, and croquetas at a reasonable price. Congratulations

Google
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been coming here for 5 years and a lady named Sol ruined my experience with this place. My children’s birthday cake looked nothing like the picture I sent her and she chose what flavor to make the cake “rum cake flavor” when no one in my family eats rum cake. $110 gone down the drain. I will NEVER give this bakery any business again.

Google
Amazing food and cakes. Such a shame the service isn't that good. I've waited for 30 min. On multiple occasions because they have either given my order away or have forgotten to make it.and there is this blond elderly lady with glasses that is not friendly at all, avoid her at all costs she's the main culprit In lossing orders. Other than that it's great just need to be patient. Hopefully the update their weekend staff. The owner Maria is great and really funny.

Google
The worst place EVER everyone was yelling at me because I didn’t know what i wanted. I just wanted to see the tablet and the lady kept yelling like well before coming here you should of had an idea let me look at the tablet and let me pick of course she got real rude never again. Corran de este lugar la gente son tan gritona empujando a uno como si uno fuera un animal no son profesionales salieron de la selva

100% recommend! They catered my daughter’s 15s birthday dinner party and their churrasco was phenomenal and very abundant with portions. I have ordered from El Indio Bakery in the past for several events and their quality in food is always amazing.

Yelp
This place was really good - not the best bakery I have been to but also not bad. We came here for a quick pick me up during the mid-day. We got some croquetas and cortaditos. The croquetas were okay - isla canarias is better but these were good for a quick pick up. The cortadito was very very good. They made it with little sugar (which I asked for) and we thought it was amazing. Usually other cuban spots (like isla canarias) make it with wayyyyy too much sugar even when I tell them no sugar. Here it was perfect. This bakery is a true bakery with no sitting area, however, that's just the style of the building. You can stand and have the stuff in the corner of the bakery though.

Yelp
Went here the other day and was terribly disappointed. Ordered a medianoche and I got a ham and plastic cheese as I call it sandwich ( Cheese in a plastic wrapping). No pork at all and they were going to put mayonnaise on it. That right there should have sent me out of there. Stay away.

Yelp
My coworker brings us bread and more from this bakery. I can tell you we love their baked good here. Bless those people who work there making their baked good. Their products are delicious. Thank god there are places that bake in a traditional way instead of all this new industrial cooked at a warehouse and brought to a cafeteria.

Yelp
The prices are the best and the bakery's a the best in Miami. They have been here for over 40 years this is the place to come if you want a piece of Cuba. They do cakes, pastries, and Cuban bread.

Yelp
Excellent food and great customer service. It would benefit this business to acquire more parking as there is very little near by, but totally worth it to make your way here for the food.

Fabian A.

Yelp
Great place, but lord do they need to expand! Luckily, folks are aware of it and they tend to have a lot of patience. Also, parking is an adventure. Take an Uber or walk if you're close enough.

Yelp
always service with a smile!!! i love this place but u have to fill yourself up with patience. it does get crowded sometimes in the am... not only do they serve up cuban bread, pastelitos, freshly squeezed oj but also a nice pan con tortilla!!! this is a fluffy egg omelet filled with ham, cheese, onions, tomato (ask and u shall receive) then placed on a soft Cuban bread and topped with a handful of pixie fries from that big giant pixie fry canister! family owned and always one of the family or more are present. any issues, they will gladly address with you directly....

Jackie M.
