El Malecon Mariscos & Bar

Ate at El Malecon Mariscos yesterday for lunch on a recommendation from a coworker and I was very impressed. First off, the salsa they brought to the table was absolutely delicious, this may very well be the best salsa I have ever had in a restaurant. I ordered the Durango platter based on the waitresses recommendation and it also was delicious. The service was spot on, the waitress was always around and very attentive. The atmosphere is your typical Mexican food restaurant. I will definitely return for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend El Malecon Mariscos.

Food best Mexican food we have ate since Eagle Pass. Drinks are very good and fresh ad we tried many. Band was awesome. Our waiter was spot on.

Absolutely delicious, if you like spicy I recommend aguachiles de mango, or get this plate where you can get 3 types of aguachiles and 2 ceviches

This place is full of colors, flavors and energy. The staff is super frendly and gentle, all of them nice. Our server Brice was super polite and nice. We started with the chips and sauce, super spicy and tasty. The food was tasty, fresh, and flavored, mexican flavors. We came with a friend of my husband and we spent the time talking and enjoying 😉 ☺️ The music also was great. They have musicians inside the restaurant, you can enjoy them too. The place is pet frendly and amazingly decorated. 👏 😍 Definitely a place to come back!!

Very nice, clean and great food! My husband ordered the el cameron tacos and fris, and I had the Lorado special! It was very delicious, tasty, authentic and filling! Great drink options if your wanting an alcoholic beverage before or with your meal. If you have not tried this seafood mexican restaurant, you need too!

Got the aguachiles negro and they were SO GOOD. I’ve had multiple other things from here too.. chicharrones are awesome as well. I brought my dad and his staff here when they came to visit and everyone loved it! Drinks are also delicious!

This place is great. Clean, attentive staff, and the food was great. I had the pineapple ceviche and it was excellent.

I went late on a Friday night and it was a mediocre setting with very little life and was actually kind of pleasant. The service was decent. The food was good, but nothing close to the hype I've heard of it.

We really didn't enjoy much of anything except dessert. Our server was very attentive and nice, however, we did not enjoy the food at all. Salsa was served warm, but it was very watery, and the chips tasted like Tostitos. The only thing I really enjoyed was the avocado.

Great food , slow , impersonal waitress . I've always enjoyed this restaurant throughout the many times I've dined there . After complaining to the manager, Sergio , about the issue , Sergio said " The next time you come in , your meal is on me . " Customers don't like being ignored by rude wait staff . Unfortunately , I won't be back . This saddens me about an otherwise great place to eat .

Service was excellent, seated quickly and had hot ships and delicious salsa right in front of me . Waiter was very attentive, had the beef and shrimp casitas and they were very delicious . Shrimp and mango ceviche was also very good . Would recommended highly thank you for a Great experience

So yummy. My husband was missing the whole fried red snapper he gets in Mexico and we saw this place had it. He ABSOLUTLEY loved it. Malecon even has the same Yucateco green sauce. I had the tacos and they were ver good too. Great service as well. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon but service was friendly and prompt. The only thing was the floor. It was very clean, but VERY slippery. Whatever they used to clean it made it slippery. We thought it was just our shoes until we heard others comment on it as well. Don't let the slipperiness stop you from eating here, just maybe not the place for high heeled sandals.

Wish I had taken a photo of the food. It was awesome. Tasted fabulous. Plenty for left overs. The mariachi band was fantastic. Great music and voices. Played a request. The service was great. Is a great place to eat with family. The drink was delicious. Mexican Plate

Tldr- food is BOMB good, service is lacking. This place is pretty great! They revamped the old Stella's building and made it look completely fresh and new and more open. We were super excited to try the food, and since it was hubbs bday, we decided to bring his dad and our kid to the restaurant with us. We were seated in a booth, which was super comfortable. We were immediately served with chips and salsa and menus, before we had even seen our server. Note: the salsa here is served warm, but give it a chance! It's very good. Our server didn't come over for quite a bit, and it didn't seem too busy, but we took that time to pour over the menu. Our server was a very nice man, but as it had been a while waiting to be greated and we were all ready to order immediately. We ordered an appetizer of guacamole and it was excellent! Came out rather quickly and was devoured. After that, our server came by a few times to refill our waters, and apologized for how long the food was taking. Hubbs was in the bathroom and I asked the server if they do anything for birthdays, he informed us they come to the table and sing, and offer a free shot of tequila. I said absolutely yes, please do that for us when its convenient for you. (This may seem irrelevant but it comes back into play haha) Our food finally comes out and yay! We're starving and out of chips! Only.. its my husbands and his fathers food only. I'm starting to get a little annoyed now. My toddler is getting cranky and I wanted to eat too! As were looking for our server to see what the heck, here comes the singing bday crew, with 2 shots of tequila, one for my husband and one for another table, about 5 tables away. They just kindof sing at us all, but its fun and hey, free tequila. Our server finally comes over and asks how everything is. I'm like well, were missing 2 orders? Like.. what is going on lol he comes back to the table with my kids quesadilla, and says can I get you anything else? At this point my husband can see the hangry annoyance on my face and goes she never got hers? And the guys like oh no, let me go see what's going on. Pause!! Ok so you may be wondering why I haven't lost my sh*t yet. Well, I was a bartender and server, and I get it. Sometimes were overwhelmed, in the weeds or its the kitchen messing it up. So I'm really trying not to Karen out on him. Anyways, Almost 15 mins go by and my food finally comes out! And, I can't make this up, its not what I ordered. At this point I'm like F it, I'm starving, everyone else is done eating and I hate to eat alone. I scarf down half of it, get a box and pay the check. I guess one good thing is that even though its not what I ordered, it still tasted fabulous! I would definitely go again, hopefully its better service because food quality and cost are certainly on point!

Delicious seafood. I ordered the tacos marineros and partner got the fried fish tacos. Plates come with three tacos. Mine were FILLED with seafood. I could only eat two of them. It probably didn't help me that I had the Gran Chelada to start--two beers of your choice poured into a big schooner full of Bloody Mary mix and garnished with shrimp, cucumbers, salt, and tajin. We sat at the bar in the back. Seems like it would be a great place to meet for drinks with appetizers. Will definitely be back.

I was recommended I try this restaurant for its Mexican seafood style offerings. Overall experience was good. Place was clean, and good service. I ordered the large cocktail shrimp and coconut shrimp appetizers and both were good. Menu had many offerings including the standard Mexican plate offerings. Most Mexican food selections included was shrimp so would have liked a bit more diversity with plates not offering so much shrimp. Just my opinion. Would recommend.

First and last time I'll come to this place service was good is not the waitress fault that cooks at this place don't care for their customers I order a plate of seafood comes out looking great warm vegetables ready to eat I take couple bites all said was is way to spicy for me to enjoy my food waitress picks up my plate takes it to the cooks in back to remake it without the sauce a very simple thing to do to my knowledge well plate comes back literally ice cold straight from their freezer slap it on a plate no veggies nothing no seasoning nothing I got up paid when I shouldn't have gave the waitress her tip and walk out never again customer service from the cooks need to be changed

The calamari was too breaded The cooked shrimp was rubbery. Overcooked or frozen . The service was great and so was the michelada Ambiance was good

Excellent food and the service was outstanding. The Bloody Mary was delicious and the beer was very cold!

Service was horrible waited almost a hour for food. I wasn't even hungry anymore. Food was 2 out of 10.

This food was amazing! My husband and I both enjoyed amazing food and great service. The house sauce here that they serve on many dishes is to die for!! Definitely will return.

Great atmosphere very clean waitresses was courteous and polite. Large menu to choose from. Food was hot and promptly brought, And as described on the menu. The chip and Salda were also very good. Will definitely return. John

We went to try this place in Lubbock we came from Hobbs. Called El MALECON. Server took our orders. Came back 15 minutes later with hubby's and not mine I asked and she said sorry she didnt put in my order, okay mistakes are made. She put the order in 30 minutes more and I never got my food. We decided to leave asked for our server and she never came out and sent another server instead. She hid from us. So Will not return. Not fun to sit and watch someone eat. And hubby didn't want to eat but I told him to go ahead because my food was coming lol things happen but sheesh at least apologize. I at least got whataburger lol I wanted anyway and this is why we never try new places EL MALECON

Food, Drinks and service awesome. Didn't have to wait long. Very yummy........................drinks exceptionally good too.

Great service. Nice options on the lunch menu also. Had the chicken taco salad and my friend had enchiladas. Nice change of pace!

It was okay food, most of it was good or very little meat in the street tacos which is ridiculous. The wait staff was good and attentive. The restaurant had space and the music was Spanish music which is typical. They had A mariachi band there last night, they were loud and really not that good, sorry to say. Hopefully the cooking would good better its a new restaurant i believe. I really don't recommend it but if you have to try it well you take that chance.

Service was horrible. Food came out cold after 45min wait. My guess is they are counting on you drinking, and not realizing how bad everything is.
