The Best Things Infatuation SF Writers Ate In June 2025 - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Jules is the new kid on the block in the Lower Haight, but the sourdough pizza spot is already firing on all cylinders. Their sauce-and-crust expertise is especially clear in the Drunken Sailor pie. It’s got a white wine tomato sauce that’s extra tangy, and punchy salt-bombs in the form of capers and anchovies. A side of tarragon miso ranch for dipping is mandatory. Reservations open up on Resy 30 days in advance every midnight. They also save the bar and communal table for walk-ins." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, patrick wong, julia chen 1, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, julia chen 1, patrick wong

I recently visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience! The ambiance was cozy and intimate, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. *Best Seller Item* - *Taco Signature Dish*: The standout dish for me was their creative take on a classic, which was both visually appealing and delicious. *Drink Item* - *Crafted Cocktails*: Their cocktail menu impressed me, with unique flavor combinations and expertly crafted drinks. *Overall Experience* The restaurant exceeded my expectations in terms of food quality, service, and ambiance. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening or a night out with friends, this place is sure to deliver.

Best lunch we had on our trip!!!! we are the fish tacos, the ceviche, and the beans and rice. All are very good! The salsa were like nothing we had on this trip very good. They also make their own beer and make a dang good. Margarita! Well, worth the five minute Uber Drive!!! Cute atmosphere as well!

Google
What a find… We were staying down the street and went walking and found El Marinero Borracho. We were greeted by enthusiastic young employees who actually cared about our experience. Recommendations, they had some. Empty beer, no problem. They came by the perfect amount and always with a smile. Portions were huge. Price was reasonable. Service great. In talking to staff at our hotel, this is their choice too. Enjoy!!!

We walk by the restaurant and decided to stop in. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the prices. Food was excellent and great value. My wife was full as the portions were large. I 100% would eat here again. I can safely say I would recommend this restaurant. I would love to try their hamburgers. Back for the second time. What’s again an amazing meal.

Google
Delicious!!! Interesting menu - the potatoes are amazing as are the chilaquiles and ceviche. Also, the drinks are killer! The Horchata was the best I’ve ever had… made with coconut milk. And hibiscus lemonade w mineral water was the bomb!

Google
Amazing mariscos for lunch or dinner - very casual, but extremely delicious! The Hawaiian Ceviche is fantastic

Google
This is a hidden gem across the bridge from downtown San Jose in the Puerto Los Cabos Marina. Be sure to check the opening times for lunch. The views of the yachts from atop the palapa are amazing. Relax with a Pacifico cerveza! We’ve tried many of their items on the menu and always come back to the Enchiladas de Cameron ( Shrimp Enchiladas). They are hard to beat anywhere in San Jose or Cabo!

Went in the day after a sea trip. Ceviche, aguachile, tacos all hit the spot with a beer and a Topo Chico. Standard everything, just what we were looking for. Quick after being on the water.

Yelp
Delicious authentic food, great margaritas and service. Small little place right by the harbor.

Yelp
What a great name for the bunch of sailors that definitely frequent the place! Mere steps away from the guest dock at the marina; close enough to stumble back to your boat. LOL A cute palapa looking, two story bar and restaurant. The ambience is wonderful with great views of the marina. We enjoyed the chips and salsa and the ceviche was one of the best. Many, many options on the menu, all looked delicious. Drinks are great and a good price point. Staff is super friendly! Love the whole concept and delivery.

Yelp
This little local dining spot...really hit the spot. Fresh seafood, nice atmosphere ...and even plenty of locals dining there.

Yelp
Love love loved this place! My boyfriend and I ordered the fish and shrimp tacos and a large order of ceviche with shrimp and fish. I'm not sure what they batter their tacos with, but it was different in a good way! The tacos tasted so refreshing with cucumber inside. Be sure to also try their salsas! Three different types came out with their chips and OMG - amazing. We can't wait to come back to Cabo and to stop by here again. Definitely a must if you're in this area!

Amanda S.

Yelp
Dropped off our fresh catch-the chef made the most delicious sashimi and tacos!!! So happy! Add a hibiscus margarita-perfecto!!

Yelp
I don't like to leave negative reviews but we were not impressed with this establishment at all. Maybe we caught them on an "off day", but I ordered the fish & chips, thinking you couldn't screw up fried food... 2 we're almost black they were so over cooked and the other 2 looked like fresh batter - I took one bite of each and decided to try a shrimp cocktail- highly disappointed in that as well. Tasted like tomato sauce out of a can with a ton of tomatoes and cucumbers. The small shrimp didn't taste fresh at all, maybe they were but I didn't think so... I left that, too. And the service took forever. The upstairs was cute but the mosquitoes and flying insects were horrible. I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Fun and funky. Nice rooftop eating area. A little off the beaten path. Great prices. Food: the shrimp sandwich would have been great if it did not have cheese on it. Otherwise excellent. Careful it's dipping sauce was surprisingly hot. Shrimp enchiladas plate great, with yummy salad but one plantain. Flan recommenced. Service good. Takes credit cards. Closed Monday.

Yelp
A bit off the beaten path... but so worth the uber trip. The Baja Classic Ceviche was some of the best Ceviche I've ever had. This is cute, laid-back little spot. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Bethany M.

Yelp
Two words: GREEN CEVICHE. That's really all you need to order - it's an overflowing cup of seafoody goodness. It's the stuff that Baja dreams are made of. Parking is easy (and free - on the street). It's very easy to locate down in the Puerto Los Cabos marina area (just down the street from Hotel El Ganzo).

Yelp
The food was delicious! They accommodated our large party of 17 right away. Super clean and attentive to us. Guacamole was great. Fish was fresh! Didn't disappoint at all!
google avatar

Maya F.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal!!! The smoked tuna sandwich was recommended to us by the owner and we were totally obsessed. We went back multiple times for it!!! Locally smoked tuna and locally baked bread, to die for. The tacos were also delicious. And we liked the verde ceviche (w basil pesto sauce), salsa, guac, etc. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Fantastic little find at the Port of San Jose del Cabo thanks to the reco of East Cape Explorers. Dine on the rooftop with a great view of the marina and a nice breeze. Drinks were great - the margarita perfect and the lemonade nice also. We enjoyed the Ceviche Verde (cup) which was very large and served with crispy tostadas. It was wonderful - a blend of fish and shrimp, olives, cucumbers and a green pesto of cilantro and basil which was delicious!

Yelp
Do not eat at this restaurant. It was so gross. My husband ordered the menudo and it was tough to chew and had no taste. I ordered the green chicken chiliequiles. They were very greasy and gross. The beans and the rice were okay. Their home made corn tortillas were good as well. My dad had the eggs and chorizo because they were out of Nopales. The service was terrible and we had to keep getting up and going to the counter to get the waitress's attention. My husband said their salsa was good. We paid $65 total for our plates. Totally not worth it for some okay beans and rice and salsa and tortillas!
google avatar

Drew G.

Yelp
If you want authentic, local, small...THIS IS YOUR SPOT. The staff is super kind but some don't speak English well at all. Food was so good. Best tacos we've had in all of Cabo. Avocado pie is a Piggly sweet dessert, very unique. Looking to get away from hustle and bustle of Cabo, try this tiny gem.
google avatar

Yelp
Unassuming little local spot seconds from Hotel El Ganzo, which, as convenience, is the reason to drop by when many other good options are a short ride away. View from the outdoor upstairs tables overlooking the marina and distant mountains at sunset is the best feature. They struggled with our table of nine order and did not offer to fix it when the wrong orders came out - i think this was mostly lack of communication/language barrier. Skip the tasteless palmito- shrimp quesadilla. Not bad, just not that good.
google avatar

Janet H.

Yelp
Excellent food (I had the fried shrimp.2 x when I ate here) the second time we are here the parties in my group ordered the shrimp because they were drooling over my plate when they treated my fried shrimp. Fresh, light crispy battered shrimp. My husband ordered the beef barrito and it was massive and delicious....Cadillac margaritas were generous and everything was reasonably priced based on the portions. Best ever!

Laura A.

Yelp
Excelente food a must try when you visit Los Cabos The ceviche verde is great Very good service
google avatar

Yelp
Food is excellent. Great tender shrimp. Wonderful guacamole. It's a picture perfect beachside restaurant with idilicc decor and charming rooftop seating. A view of the marina is the perfect backdrop.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Went here after landing at the airport and this is some of the best food I've had in Mexico. The shrimp tacos are INCREDIBLE and the fish tacos are also very, very good. Prices are great and affordable. Would eat here every day if closer to where I'm staying.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Very delicious and worth stopping by if in the area. I've come here twice since it's walking distance from Hotel El Ganzo. Food tastes fresh and service is great.
google avatar

Missy W.

Yelp
No, just pass. I don't typically stop at tourist place but I've driven by a million times so I figured I'd try. It was not good... and I coukd hear a microwave. I tried the shrimp soup. FULL of tortilla chips and 3 shrimp. No flavor. Asked for hot sauce and also onion and Cilantro to give some flavor.

Marisol C.

Yelp
It looked so cute plus reviews were ok so we stopped but idk. 3 stars for me. We asked for a side change and apparently they can't accommodate anything. I asked if I could have a half portion of aguachile verde so I could try and I told them I was willing to pay extra but no. The food overall was ok. We ordered the chilaquiles and they were sweet. I got the Tequila fish and it was good not great. I drank the Mezcalito de Tamarindo and it was, again, good not great. We were literally their only customer at the time and asked if they could change the music and nope. I guess it's ok. All restaurants we've visited on vacation are willing to go above and beyond but this one was not it... if you're hungry come but if you can hold it, look for something else. I'd only come back for the chips and salsa and michelada lol
google avatar

Veronica A.

Yelp
Fantastic margaritas... had the classic & tanarindo! Unbelievable prices as well at $4. Super friendly wait staff. Food is great! Had the shrimp burger & was really delicious.
google avatar

Lilia G.

Yelp
Local Type hang out. The real deal. The Chile salsa is 3 levels of hot. Shrimp cocktails is yum and zero ww points. The chips are addicting. Shrimp and Fish Tacos have their own unique seasoning. They serve hand made type flour tortillas but you can ask for corn.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
We were recommended this place by one of our tour guides and when we pulled up it looked small and questionable. BUT it was THE BEST food we had in Cabo. HANDS DOWN. I had the Devil's Shrimp with the Shrimp Tortilla Soup. AMAZING. All the flavors in the food...wow. HIGHLY recommended. Will definitely be eating here every time I come to Cabo in the future!!
google avatar

Danyel C.

Yelp
Amazing ceviche verde and traditional Mexican margaritas. Everyone is super friendly including the patrons. Met people from Mexico City and from Calgary, British Columbia. It's a very traditional local restaurant, not a frou frou tourist place. You will never be rushed out and like most places Mexican you must say "la cuenta por favor". If you like the all-inclusive Americanized places in Cabo, you might not like this. But maybe you will-give it a try. The food and drinks and experience are amazing.
google avatar

Juliana J.

Yelp
Pretty good. Very nice accommodating service. Delicious veggie and fish dishes and also homemade dessert. Go... you won't regret it

Dizel8 J.

Yelp
Doesn't look much, but excellent Ceviche, friendly staff and quick service at a great price.
google avatar

Marilee K. G.

Yelp
We had lunch here and it was fantastic. Everyone ordered something different and all were excellent. I tried the taco chino and also the smoked tuna quesadilla. Yum. Others ordered fish and chips, smoked tuna sandwich and the shrimp burger. All were really delicious and the service was excellent.

Olivia D.

Yelp
Awesome local hangout! Beautiful view and great comfort food with a twist. The beans and coconut rice were out of this world!!!

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Delicioso!! Green ceviche was excellent, the coconut pineapple rice was a nice twist on standard rice and beans, the shrimp taco would have been really good but was a bit overcooked. Topped off w Baja brewing lager, I could barely walk back to the hotel. I would come here again and again.

Brittney N.

Yelp
The taco chinos were excellent and the pineapple was very refreshing. Ordered it in burrito and in taco form, both great. Also got the side of coconut rice which was small but tasty. Ginger mojito was refreshing. The Jamaica margarita was tasty but a bit stiff. Green ceviche was fresh but had a strong taste of olive. Atmosphere was cute and relaxed. Had view of bay if you sit upstairs. Service was quick. If you're lucky a dog or two might visit you.
google avatar

Forrest S.

Yelp
Had an enjoyable meal there. We were staying at the Marriott and wanted to get out for some affordable non-Americanized food options. Nice atmosphere. Don't be afraid of the dogs. The ceviche is great both the green and regular. Try the ginger mojito. It's very causal.
google avatar

Natalie P.

Yelp
Recommended by our fishing captain to cook our catch. It was delicious and so we're the shrimp enchiladas. It took a bit to get our food but we didn't mind, it was worth it and as it said on the menu good food takes time.
google avatar

SammyC2357 ..

Yelp
This place is a little off the beaten path but well worth the trek. I had Fish and Chips and my wife grilled Garlic Shrimp, both dishes were plentiful and delicious. Paying 600 pesos for the meals, drinks and tip is quite a bargain in this area.

Simone M.

Yelp
Wow. Great lunch. Every thing was good no complaints big lunch for not so much. Service was good too. I do recommend

Stephen L.

Yelp
After eating tacos from Cabo San Lucas all the way to San Jose Del Cabo, and eastward to Todos Santos, we decided to give El Marinero Baracho a try. We are so glad we did. The style of tacos here was different than any other spot we tried. There was a soy based salsa for starters, and the fish tacos were made with fresh red snapper, pineapple, cabbage. We ordered the side of black beans, coconut rice and fried plantains. When they came to the table, they were served as our "garnishes". Whatever you want to call them, they were the perfect foil to the tacos. Four of us ate for under $30, and that included a soda, beer and a tasty monitor. If you are looking for a different tasting version of a local staple, give The Drunken sailor a shot.

Yelp
I was skeptical at first to leave the comforts of Hotel El Gonzo right up the road for a local joint where I would have to travel about 100 m up a dirt road but alone, but was not disappointed once I got there. There was a very loose casual vibe there- most of it is outdoors and so I went right to the rooftop and sat right along the railing for the best views of the marina. On a Wednesday night in the beginning of December it was pretty much empty at 5:30 PM. The waitress 'was lovely and recommended their fish taco special which comes with either fish or shrimp and so I opted for that, as I did not know the menu (not realizing the fish would be fried, but it is what it is). After looking at the menu further I'm sorry I did not try the shrimp cocktail first because the taco was just one taco was quite small and I could've used a little appetizer. With dinner I had one cocktail which was quite good and after receiving the bill my face lit up. Maybe it was because I had been at the resort for a couple days with resort pricing, but for 100 pesos, which was $6 dollars, I had just had a dinner with a drink which is pretty incredible. I definitely should've gotten shrimp cocktail! I think I know where I will be heading for lunch today
google avatar

Catrina P.

Yelp
Really yummy and reasonably priced. I had the tacos chino, one fish and one shrimp and they were outstanding! Great seafood taco with an Asian twist that was really well executed and a welcome shift from the other great ceviche we've had here in San Jose Del Cabo. Hubs had the Hawaiian ceviche which was also really nice. Sit up on the second story and take in the great view of the marina! We had the ceviche, two tacos and four beers between the two of us and it was $280 pesos. Great deal!
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
Really, really good margaritas and accommodating staff. The green ceviche is very good but different from traditional ceviche. Pretty much a locals place. Not fancy but fun.

Yelp
- The Skinny: Food Quality: 5 Stars - Fresh!! A new take on the traditional Mexican Taco! The "Taco Chino" with Shrimp is a must! Better than the Fish one. "Taco Arabe" is not bad if you're into olives and extra breading. Green Ceviche is good but has a lot of green olives, so keep that in mind. Pricing: 5 Stars - Great low cost alternative to "Hotel El Ganzo" & other places nearby. Food and drinks for 2 @ $320 MX (About $18 USD at the time) Service: 5 Stars - Nice, friendly, & attentive! 3 different gals helped us out. Constantly checked up on us & were FAST! Atmosphere: 5 Stars - Really cool/chill vibe. Hippie/adventurous feel. Not touristy at all. The view of the Marina on the top floor during sunset was nice! Comfort: 4 Stars - Plenty of seating inside & out, as well on the top deck. All plastic patio chairs, none padded. Tables can be joined easily. Location: 5 Stars 5 mins+ from San José del Cabo centro & walking distance from "Hotel El Ganzo". - The Fat: After an afternoon at the "Hotel El Ganzo" beach club. We decided to try out this original local recommend spot. My wife Francis and I were on the last night of our Travel Blogging for AllaboutbajaDOTcom. So we tried pretty much every restaurant in San Jose Del Cabo. My wife & I both loved the "Taco Chino"!! Its a big taco & 2-3 will fill you up. Also had the fish variant but it wasn't nearly as good. Then again, it's all based on what the fresh catch of the day is. Always fresh seafood. Sit in the upstairs area during the sunset and enjoy a cold "Negra Modelo" beer.

Gabby L.

Yelp
Ordered the taco chino, I was expecting a taco full of shrimp and to my surprise it has to lonely shrimp! The flavors were amazing but for the cost it's not worth ordering this particular taco. When I asked the waiter if this is how it came he just said "yes" didn't offer to add more or if I wanted something else. We also ordered the ceviche verde. That was delicious.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
My family of five ate here as the reviews were decent and we were nearby. Unfortunately service was unfriendly and slow (even by Mexico standards), my glass was dirty and smelly, and the food was so so. A little effort by the staff and it could have been a different experience.

Rayne T.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Food is incredibly fresh and very affordable. Eat here, you won't be disappointed!!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Hipster in Cabo! Good food, creative drinks and muy frio cervesa's! Cool vibe, neat place, however service is a bit slow. Hey, but it's Mex. understand that the pace here is a lot slower than the good ole' USA or Canada. Isn't that the reason we fled for vacation, too slow down and drink a beer or 7? Grab a shrimp Sammy and a cold beer and turn the clock down to slow. You will love the view and the change of pace. Much gracias, Ariel! Love your cantina!
google avatar

Sfgal S.

Yelp
Fish tacos were great! The black beans and coconut rice with plantains were my favorite thing we had. Also ceviche was fresh & delicious! Super cute quaint spot that locals frequent!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Scared to try ceviche. Order the green ceviche. Non traditional but very good. Don't let the inexpensive price tag fool you the "order" is huge and could feed 4 Canadian time sharers no problem.

Anonymous M.

Yelp
On a dirt road on the marina sits an unassuming palapa serving some of the best ceviche in the area. The cerveza is cold, and the basket is full of tostadas and totopos. What's not to like? Also the price is decidedly lower than the resort area on the other side of the river. Why should we complain about the exchange rate? You're in Mexico, and you should pay in pesos.

Mari A.

Yelp
I love their fish and shrimp tacos breaded in amaranth topped with cabbage, pineapple and basil with black beans and coconut rice on the side. In my opinion one of the best fish tacos in town. Great salsas, great margaritas I had the passion fruit margarita and they also had a Jamaica ( hibiscus flower) option. Menu is extensive and delicious. I really liked their hearts of palm quesadilla. Road is paved. They also have an upstairs which has a view to the marina.
