16 Shops to Get Your Taco Fix in Las Vegas and Henderson

"Stop by this northwest taco shop for fresh-tasting, lightly battered fish tacos. Slaw adds the right amount of crunch and the tangy dressing keeps things cool." - Janna Karel

Yelp
Food Was amazing! Ordered online, paid and picked up in store it was very quick and easy

Yelp
This place is a mixed bag of emotions for me. Some stuff was executed well and others not so much. The food is hit or miss from our experience here. We started with chips and dips. The guac tasted very basic and no different than that of the guac in little cups from the store. The beans and salsa were very good though and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I ordered the California burrito, my girlfriend ordered 3 tacos, and my brother got a quesadilla. I think he had the best entree at the table. The California burrito was flavorful but it had so much grease leaking out of it from start to finish. But my girlfriend's tacos were literally just soaked in grease. I wish I had taken a picture of them. The tortillas were soggy from all the grease they sat in. I'm not sure who was in the back that day but that was clearly their F game. The service was alright. The woman taking our order didn't appear to care if she was there or not. But the food came out quick. The ambiance was very bland and empty. It felt like no care had been taken in designing the inside and it felt soulless. There's far better places to get tacos than this. I don't know what happened but I hope this wasn't them at their best because that makes me fear their worst.

Yelp
Yes it's cheap, but the guac wasn't real. The chips were really good they were like Doritos. I also really liked the salsa which you can tell is made in house. The tacos were REALLY soggy and the meat didn't taste of good quality. I didn't even eat my tacos. I wouldn't go back personally. I ordered the Carne Asada Taco, Chicken Taco, Birria Taco all of them were meh. My boyfriend really liked his California burrito.

Yelp
When they first opened, I came here to check out the tacos because there aren't a lot of good taco spots in Las Vegas and definitely not El Gordo. Anyways, the tacos were dry my first time here, but since the last few months, I feel like the quality has gotten much better. Asada isn't dry anymore, and service is pretty quick. Nice turnaround

Yelp
Have gone to this place multiple times and have never had an issue with the food. Only 1 time did it take forever to get my food on a takeout order but they were very apologetic and the food was still great, so no worries on my end. Would fully continue to support this shop! The shrimp tacos are amazing and their Al Pastor tacos are really good. Rice and beans are fine.

Yelp
Cashier was uninviting she didn't welcome us in, placed our order and the only thing she said was rudely, "do you want your receipt?" Inside had a nasty metal sent that was off putting. Inside was pretty large with 8 tables (4 tops) with a bar style seating with barstools around the cashier. Ordered: Carne Asada Fries: $12.99 after taxes $14.05 The fries where a standard straight cut fry that were seasoned with seasoning salt topped with refried beans, nacho cheese, carne asada that had a great flavor soft and juicy but some pieces were hard gristle. Than topped with cheddar cheese pico de gallo , jalapeños, sour cream and guacamole that is the processed kind. Overall, it was good was a lot for two of us had left overs.

Yelp
We've tried most of the taco spots on this side of town and this one is the best in our area. We've tried the carne asada, the birria, and the pastor and we loved all of them. The birria tacos are packed full of meat which I appreciate but sometimes they're so wet that they just fall apart which is my only gripe. The food quality is great, the employees are very nice and they always get everything right. I highly recommend I've stopped trying other places in the area cause they always disappointed me but this one has been steadily my favorite for a few months!

Yelp
This is one of our regular go tos for food. It's only a couple minutes from our house and we've tried most of the menu items and all have been good. A couple of my favorites here are the fish and shrimp tacos. I've tried a lot of fish and shrimp tacos in my life and El Norte has some of the best I've ever had. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu and we never have to wait long for our food.

Yelp
I have tried this place many times over the last few months and so far everything has tasted really good. I love their crispy dorado tacos. The taco is fried to a point that it holds up to the juiciness of the beef but doesn't compromise the crunch. One of the best chicken enchiladas I have eaten in a while and the steak fajitas were a big hit. If you're a Nacho person you will not be disappointed but grab an extra fork and spoon!

Yelp
Can by yesterday because my wife was craving carne asada fries. We yelped for some nearby places and El Norte Taco Shop was suggested. We always wanted to try it so we gave it a go. We ordered the carne asada fries (obviously) and the two price combo plate. Fries were well portioned and tasty, it could've used some more fries. Combo plate was good, only complain is that the flauta was definitely cut in half and sold as 2 pieces. I wasn't completely bothered because the meat was good.. although I asked for chicken and it was beef. Last tibet is- I was overcharged. I didn't catch it when I was there but when I was driving home I couldn't math out how the two items were $33 I went back onto their Yelp to look at their menu and the last photo was a moth ago. My total should've have been about $26. I also took into consideration that the price might have gone up, but that still wouldn't be close to the difference. I paid in cash so extra charge for credit is not the cause. *Be mindful of price when paying and try to check your order before leaving the restaurant. Two things I failed to do.

Yelp
Really wanted to believe some of these reviews! But come on California people especially from San Diego? I am from OC and we have the best and yes the food was good here but it's not California. BUT let's talk about what it is! I had the carne asada torta. It had a lot of meat that is a plus. Two small containers of Salsa served on side red and green. They are good not that spicy for those that like it super hot. The bread was a roll. Not the typical bolios. There was beans lettuce and tomato slices if there was avo slices I didn't find them also shredded cheddar cheese possibly with jack cheese also no jalapeños but will ask next time to be added. The flavor is good. It definitely good for Vegas! Have had tacos Togo before and they were pretty good too. So my only complaint is to the other reviewer because Just not feeling the comparison on to California. it's doable BUT it's not California! Have tried several local taco places and definitely better than most. Inside is very clean and staff is friendly albeit seemed like a mother daughter duo or maybe a grandmother and they weren't happy with each other and it was noticeable ha ha. Will try a burrito next time.

Yelp
Charmless industrial decor, but it's roomy enough for a handful of tables. The service is friendly. We had fish tacos and a burrito. The fish tacos were good, not great -- nicely light but not especially flavorful. The burrito was probably the worst I ever had -- a cold brick filled with unidentifiable glutinous substances. I'm not sure if it was premade and frozen and not fully thawed or if they just couldn't be bothered to heat the ingredients.

Yelp
So glad to have found this place thanks to Uber eats. It's always a a hit or miss with Mexican food but this one was a huge hit and will def be back for more. Great portions for the price and fantastic flavor. My food was made on time and the cashier was very friendly. The place was very clean inside and looked nice to even sit down and eat vs grab and go like I did. I highly recommend this place

Yelp
Quality neighborhood taco shop but not the kind you drive across town to visit. Clean, chill and pretty competently staffed compared to most taco shops in Vegas and it's pretty fast for food that's freshly made. Decent variety for the menu but the prices are a tad high for a taco shop. All in all, probably the best Mexican food in Skye Canyon.

Yelp
Located conveniently off of US 95 on Oso Blanco Road. The chicken fajitas and shrimp fajitas are delicious. The portions are generous. The staff are friendly. They also serve street tacos and tacos just to name a few. No matter what you order, you won't be disappointed. There's seating inside if you want to dine in. You're welcome to take your order to go as well. You can call ahead and place an order for carry out. They're open every day for lunch and dinner. If you have not tried them yet, then what are you waiting for?

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this taco shop! Tried them once when they first opened and now it's the only place I go to get Mexican food! They have reasonable prices and they are fast with the food.Every time I order ahead they always have the food ready when I get there. The food taste delicious every time.

Yelp
El norte taco shop was really good. The staff was super friendly and helpful! We ordered togo and it came out fairly quick. We got a steak burrito, a 3 item combo and a cheese quesadilla. Everything was very tasty!
google avatar

Renita C.

Yelp
The food was great! Customer service was great. The Carne asada was so good. The fish taco was good but very spicy.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem in Centennial hills! The food is delicious and the service was speedy quick. Will definitely come back soon

Yelp
When I walked in I was greeted with a smile. There were people ahead of me and I still got my food fast. Carne Asada burrito and four chicken taquitos. Less than $20 for both which is big bang for your buck. And my burrito was LOADED. Only thing is the churro for $3 was too much. Overall love this place and will be back!

Yelp
Good place close to home. We ordered the beef flautas (really good), the quesabirria tacos w/ the consommé (really good), shrimp tacos (really good), al pastor & carne asada tacos (both meh, very bland). I probably won't get the al pastor & carne asada tacos again, which is usually my go-to at my favorite taco shops. The staff were super friendly. Get the creamy green sauce which is their spiciest sauce if you can handle heat. Hopefully they season their carne asada & al pastor better. All in all, will be back to try other items!

Yelp
This Mexican restaurant surpasses any that I have tasted!! I get their chicken street tacos at least 4 times a week!! They r made with WHITE meat, my favorite!!! The house salsa is spicy and amazing as well!! The rice & refried beans are the bomb!! Everything my family orders is so yummy!!! You HAVE to try them if you haven't!! I had the pleasure of talking to the top chef, guess I'm in there and they know my face he has so much pride in his food, and he should!! He was so kind and clearly has his customers in mind when cooking!!
google avatar

Tina P.

Yelp
Not tasty at all, every time I find a New Mexican spot I always try the tacos first, if they can master the tacos then it's worth going back for. Well this place ain't it. The meat even smelled bad.
google avatar

Yelp
Fast and friendly... professional ... smells delicious great menu I would come here again... A+++++... food is always good delicious and consistent

Yelp
The actual shop is clean and spacious, and the folks working there are pretty upbeat and nice. We like the food too, but lately the Asada burritos are pretty salty and my salt threshold is pretty high. I may have to get my burritos elsewhere. Also, the churros aren't always consistent. Most of the time their on point but ever so often they're bland and stale.

Michael O.

Yelp
Just ordered the carve asada burrito with added cheese , shit is DELICIOUS! Perfect amount of meat , great burrito! !! Will definitely be coming back !
google avatar

Daphne K.

Yelp
Have been meaning to stop by this place and finally did. Their beef taquitos are simple and satisfying. If you're wanting something fancy, this isn't it, but it's a friendly place that has a good variety of foods to choose from. I wouldn't say that it's the most authentic, more Americanized in my opinion, but the only vice is that the strong bathroom smelled hit us in the face when walking in and there's nothing more unappealing than that. If they could fix that then it would definitely improve the dining experience at this location.
google avatar

Yelp
THE BEST EVER !!!!!!! The service is IMPECCABLE! They are so clean and they take pride in their cooking and excellent service they provide ! Always consistent ! I FREAKIN LOVE YHIS PLACE !!!!!! Go go go!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Jeffrey V.

Yelp
Nice place, clean, customer service is good and food is great. As the hip kids say BUSSIN!!!! Also reasonably price FAM!!! I just wish they had a bar with veggies and sauces that would SLAY!
google avatar

Dominic G.

Yelp
The food is great. Love the Machaca Nachos and shrimp tacos. The problem is the service SUCKS! They almost never pick up the phone. Was in last week watching two girls just stand around really doing nothing while the phone just kept ringing intermittently which was frustrating because I actually drove there to place my order as a result of no one answering the phone. I'm willing to drive a little further for similar quality Mexican Food with better service. Dine in and your good to. They just don't want to take phone orders. Sad.

Yelp
Service is always so great. Food delicious shrimp tacos are the best in Vegas so far. Ambiance always chill! Prices are also great.

Yelp
El Norte Taco Shop is a Taco shop that just recently opened up in Northwest Las Vegas. It's located off of the N95/Durango exit. It's next to a few businesses such as Capriottis. There is spacious amount of parking available as well. We decided to pick up a to-go order. I had ordered their Chicken Flautas. Flautas are made with flour tortillas. The food was super delicious! The pick-up was relatively simple and quick! The team members were super friendly. When I had got home, the food traveled well. The Chicken Flautas were quite filling. There was plenty of chicken inside. There was also a green sauce topped on the Flautas. The sauce was mild, not too spicy. It also came with sour cream, cheese, and pico de gallo. The food at El Norte Taco Shop was delicious and inexpensive! If you're in the area, you should check out El Norte Taco Shop!
google avatar

Lyndsie M.

Yelp
I ordered food via Postmates, my delivery driver was told my order was already picked up but someone else was claiming they were picking up the order so El Norte Tacos went ahead and remade my order so I can still have my meal delivered. ALSO they make great shrimp tacos and delicious California Burrito. Great establishment.

Tim F.

Yelp
Great food at a reasonable price. I had two carnitas tacos with rice and beans. The pork was well cooked, very tender with some fatty juices, but it could use a bit more seasoning. Rice and beans were also good. I'd also like to have a salsa bar. What took it from a 4 - 5 stars was a super clean men's bathroom along with the whole restaurant.

Yelp
Found this little taco shop on my way to Tule Springs in the NW side of the valley. El Norte Taco Shop is a more modern vibe inside than your typical "hole in the wall" taco shop. Don't let that deter you though as his tacos are just as good as many of the more authentic "looking" ones are on the outside! The fish taco was by far my favorite one of the ones I sampled! The fish was large, lightly battered, and so incredibly fresh tasting! The slaw and dressing on it added that slight crunch to the exterior of the fish that balances it out just right! The pastor was my 2nd favorite as it was packed with great flavors, and the amount of meat on the tacos is actually enough for two tacos! The other tacos were good, but none stood up to what these two offered, but the amount of meat on the tacos are offsetting any judgment that I could pass along towards them!

H. L.

Yelp
Today was my first time ever going to this taco shop? I ordered potato tacos and nachos, three of the potato tacos were correct and for some reason there was one chicken taco in there, which was absolutely disgusting. The fact that it was in there with the others makes me feel sick. I will not be going back. I called back a few times to try to tell somebody. And they're just not answering now. And there was literally not one person in there when I went there ten minutes ago.
google avatar

Vivian R.

Yelp
ehhhh . not the best . ordered a burrito meat has a weird flavor , and rice tasted generic . not authentic Mexican.
google avatar

Roxana F.

Yelp
Moved to Vegas a couple months ago from San Diego and needed to find a local mexican fix that can come close to the mexican places I grew up with in San Diego. This place is just as good as what Ive had back home and the FISH TACO IS SO DELICIOUS. and so flavorful!!!! seriously just order the fish taco here for the rest of your life and thats it

Theresa S.

Yelp
The lady in there is horribly rude maybe needs to be more better customer service her name is aurora
google avatar

Christina N.

Yelp
Good food, definitely less greasy then your Roberto's.This would have been a 5 star, however the red sauce to my enchiladas were very salty. Definitely will try again! Nice to know there's another option near the house for some good take out!
google avatar

Juan M.

Yelp
The food was mediocre at best to be quite honest. It will do if you're in a pinch or live within walking distance of the establishment. I've driven by here a number of times and one day I was really needing some taco therapy and this was the closest I could find to where I was, so we go! I ordered 4 tacos al pastor, 2 birria tacos and 1 milanesa torta. The al pastor tacos were okay, meat was seasoned decently and cooked properly and were a nice size. 3 bites per taco with my big mouth. The birria was tender but not flavorful and the "consome" they gave me to dip the taco was NOT where the meat was cooked. It was obvious that the consome and the meat were cooked separately. The milanesa torta was just not good. The breaded meat was old and tough and was as bland as a box . I'm not a fan of people smothering cheese on food and calling it "Mexican food" and this torta had cheese everywhere. La neta que no estuvo buena la torta. The food feels a bit "Americanized" in my personal opinion so it was a disappointment. Gracias pero yo ya no regreso.

Yelp
Yesterday while visiting Vegas, our kids (Rae/Chuck) told us about their new favorite Taco shop. So today we decided to pick us up some chow for the road back to California. We ordered the beef taquitos and the burrito special for today was the Chorizo burrito. Chips and salsa. Taquitos were very fresh and delicious. The chorizo burrito hit the spot it was very very tasty! The salsa, had some good heat and was really good!! I put that salsa on everything! Do yourself a favor and make this your new favorite taco shop too!!!

Mitchell K.

Yelp
This place is best Mexican fast food spot I've ever ate at and I live in Los Angeles. Must try their tacos (carne asada, chicken and pastor). Rolled tacos are off the chain and gotta get an horchata. I'm coming here every time I visit for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
First, the food, my wife ordered the chile relleno plate, and I ordered the three taco special very simple order 10 minutes later someone else came into the restaurant in order close to the same same order as we were waiting for our order. Somehow they received their order first even though they came 10 minutes later, and then one of the gentleman complain that his order was incorrect. The waitress cannot figure out what went wrong, but I was listening to the conversation, and I realize they have our order but of course, because we ordered first she went apologize to the customer for the wrong order never acknowledging that we're still waiting for our order or apologizing for mixing the order up only looking over at me and telling me your order still being prepared she went on to apologize two or three times to the other customer never apologizing to us for the extended wait even as the customer left she apologized now the restaurant was pretty empty. Only two customers dining in so it's very difficult to mix things up but I know it happens but not to apologize to us was very rude even as we left she never even acknowledged us to say thank you or goodbye or sorry for the long wait so that I would even give the rating a one star, but there was a young lady behind the counter, who is exceptionally very nice. I had to walk up to the counter and asked for extra hot sauce, because the original older lady who took the order and put the plate on the table didn't bring the hot sauce I asked for so had to walk up to the counter and get it myself .I'll never return to this restaurant again because there's so many other great restaurants taco shops in Las Vegas. I have no idea if these are new owners, but when I read the other reviews, it doesn't feel like the same restaurant.

Yelp
We ordered the carne asada fries and carne asada nachos. I like that they use cheese sauce and regular cheese. These nachos are the bomb. They come fully loaded and you definitely get your moneys worth. Everything tasted good. The service is fast and friendly. We are so glad there is a good neighborhood taco restaurant by us.
google avatar

Eli J.

Yelp
This place is pretty new to the area. The service was good. I ordered take out. Everything was good. the enchiladas were the stand out with the shredded beef. Everything tasted very fresh and smelled great. We actually liked the chicken tacos more than the asada tacos to our surprise. I thought it was relatively expensive but definitely a lot of food. The only thing we didn't like was the salsa. It was kind of one note and flat. A good pico or one different salsa would go a long way. I'd definitely go back to eat.
google avatar

Tina M.

Yelp
One of the best canre asada street tacos in town. Juicy and fresh. Service is great and fast. Family owned. Today I had the canre asada burrito for the first time and it was yummy wish there was one closer to me.

Anne D.

Yelp
The Birria Tacos were very tasty and melt in your mouth. I wish I would come with special sauce and some limes !

Yelp
We finally had the opportunity to order from El Norte and I'm glad we did. It's a nice change from the other taco shops in the Vegas area. We had two crispy chicken tacos and three Street Tacos: one each Chicken, Carnitas, and Carne Asada. I also ordered the Chips and Dips which gives you a bag full of their house chips of blue and yellow corn tortilla along with generous portions of refried beans, guacamole, and salsa. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. My only complaint; I didn't care for their salsa, it was very 'soupy'. I prefer a thick salsa myself but thats me. I guess you would say this is a more traditional salsa. The guac and beans were on point, great flavor. The street tacos were loaded and I like the carnitas the best. Will definitely be ordering again.
