First time here and we had a great time. Had our galantine with a group of friends and just felt to welcomed. Will definitely be coming back. Our waitress Martha was so great. No complaints. I ordered the red snaper fried and it was delicious 😋

A truly unique experience to be able to have a drink and dine under the architectural wonder that once was a bank. The staff will welcome you with hospitality of an executive come well equipped for an experience well worth the memorable visit leaving. Each experience I have had hasn't let me down.

This was my first time here. The music was jumping and a vibe if you like Mexican music. It’s all live music. I didn’t order food but got drinks. Claudia was welcoming and quick on my order. I also ordered a Paloma and it was good and strong.

Claudia was a great server. Very attentive and the food was delicious I had the shrimp empanadas and the fish ceviche muy rico.

Anel was amazing and she was very attentive and friendly. She had so much patience for us because we told her we haven’t seeing each other in long time and we were catching up she gave us our space and time, she is also super sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back and ask for her.

I visited El Nuevo Vallarta tonight with a couple of friends, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks along with a sushi roll called El Solecito. Shortly after, we asked the bartender to place our entrée orders -- one pasta, one shrimp empanadas, and I ordered arroz con mariscos estilo diablito. There was a bit of confusion when the bartender couldn't find my dish in her system, so I showed her the photo from the menu to confirm. When the food began to arrive, the sushi came out along with the pasta and my rice dish. My friend and I tried a piece of the sushi and quickly realized it was the wrong roll. We informed the bartender, who called the manager. That's where things went downhill. The manager came over and, rather than offering help, immediately hit us with, "If you knew the sushi was wrong, why did you take a bite?" I was honestly stunned by the tone and attitude. I explained it was our first time at the restaurant and that we wouldn't have known it was the wrong roll without trying it. Still, the manager continued to be rude and dismissive. I told her plainly that I wouldn't be paying for something I didn't order, especially if she wasn't going to help us fix the situation -- she walked away with visible attitude. The rest of the meal didn't improve. The pasta and my rice dish were so spicy they were nearly inedible -- and I enjoy heat, so that's saying something. Meanwhile, my other friend never even received her empanadas. After waiting over 20 minutes, we had to ask the bartender to cancel them altogether. To top it off, the music was obnoxiously loud -- not in a fun, upbeat way, but in a way that made conversation difficult and the atmosphere uncomfortable. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I was shocked by the poor customer service and lack of professionalism from management. This experience left a bad taste in every sense, and I won't be returning. There are plenty of places that value their customers -- I'd rather take my business there.

I visited 4 times when I first moved here. Was so excited as I love my seafood and fish. My favorite thing when I'm down in Jalisco. Well food was "ok". Nothing to beef about. I felt it a bit pricey, but again, I'm happy to pay for good food. What got me was the volume of the space. I love Mariachi music, but this is not the venue for it. It's an older concrete building and the sound echoes. I couldn't even have a conversation with the person next to me at the bar let alone hear the bartender. I think it's a great concept and also a wonderful way to support local musicians (myself being one) but loud brass in that space is a no go.

This place was recommended to go and it was the worst place I have ever been to. We asked for water with lime and we got a lemonade so that we can get charged 4.00. My husband asked for el chapazon spicy and he got onion and garlic sauce and that is what they said the spicy sauce was. I ordered the torre de marriscos dish and everything was shreaded like ceviche. My bill came out to 126.00 and we didnt even eat anything. Gratuity is automatically included so the waitress gave two craps that we were not happy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Came here with a few others because it was close and it seemed like a party was going on outside so loud we could hear it. El Nuevo Vallarta seems to have mostly seafood on its menu. It still has a few vegetarian items though. Beverages include margaritas of course. The food mostly wasn't for us except the guacamole but this was worth coming in to get some. Bring earplugs. It gets fucking loud in here. They have a mariachi band or whatever playing and singing full blast and it makes ears hurt so forget about having conversation because you can't hear shit. It was the only complaint from us besides the lack of vegetarian food. This is mostly a seafood restaurant with stuff like fish and shrimp. About the only thing we could have was guacamole. The margaritas are pretty authentic tasting. It's $11.99 for the regular. This is made with house tequila. As for the food we got a Guacamole Side. It's $4.99 and it comes decorated with some tortillas. This is also more authentic than typical. It's chunky. This has a mild spice of cilantro and lime. For not being that vegetarian friendly it was good. It still had a few things to get and we liked it. The bands are loud and it can be hard to hear others talking.

We went there for dinner. As soon as we were seated a photographer offered to take our picture for $30, we politely declined. Within a few minutes a man offered to draw a sketch of my daughter for $35. We agreed based on the quality of his samples, needless to say I'm pretty sure the samples weren't drawn by him - we took it all in stride and laughed it off. The band also came asking to play a song for us, more $$ . The drinks: The Paloma - the lime soda was actually warm paired with the other ingredients I ended up with a luke warm paloma - disgusting. The margarita - very little liquor and super sweet. The cantarito - had apples in it... apples! It's supposed to be all citrus in a cantarito. It was very sweet too as if they added sugar maybe they messed up their simple syrup I can't see why everything was so sweet. Not good at all. The food: I really liked the caldo de 7 mares it was sooooo good. My husband had a large chapuzon del mar and he didn't care for it, it's supposed to have a mix of seafood and it only had shrimp and octopus. The camarones al mojo de ajo were good. The empanadas were very skimpy on the shrimp. All in all we will not be returning, super expensive for the quality of food and drinks we received. .

Celebrating my moms 98th birthday, I called ahead and was told that Mariachis would be there between 5 and 5:30. I got there at 5:15 . No mariachis. We had a lovely meal . Waited 2 hours and mariachis never showed up. I asked twice and was told they were on the way. We left at 7:40. Mom was really looking forward to mariachis. Restaurant should be upfront and tell the truth. I do not think I will be going back . I did call back out of curiosity at 8 p.m. and was told Mariachis would be arriving soon. Why lie???

Servicio pésimo. Comida pésima. Me dio pena llevar a mi familia aquí. Que desafortunada la experiencia aquí. Y lo peor que no avisan que viene incluido el tip ( si van 4 personas). Lo único bueno es el ceviche.

An hour and a half for food is unacceptable. Seems like the whole restaurant (which was only 4 more tables) got every plate before us. And this was on a Wednesday by the way. Server barely came to the table as well.

Honestly, drinks were good but the food did not sit well with me at all. I had to call off work the next morning.

They told me they wouldn't accept my GC because it's under new management. Even though this card has no expiration. The only exception on the back of the card is if the business name changes. Owner wouldn't given me any type of credit whatsoever. I would recommend better places in the area.

Would have gotten 5 stars as far as the food goes.... . When you first walk in the hostesses are super friendly and always have a table available. However the best tables are reserved for VIPs. We had a family of 4 and we couldn't get a comfortable table because they were reserved for big parties. Waitresses are not friendly at all, our waitress did not smile once. ( this is every time we come in) I guess since gratuity is included they don't have to be nice. They charge for water. They don't have filtered water. Which is weird for an "upscale" place like that. Definitely felt that if we didn't buy a "bottle" the waitresses were annoyed to serve us and barely came back to our table. Very disappointing... Loved the food, wish costumer service was better!

I do NOT recommend this place to eat. The food is way overpriced for the quality of the food. I paid $25 for a "sushi" roll that was basically just rice, cream cheese, and a sliver of shrimp. I took a picture for you to see. Also, the shrimp ceviche wasn't cooked all the way through too. I was offended that they would even serve such food and charge someone at that ridiculous of a price. I will never go back but if you enjoy loud music while drinking then do go but don't eat there.

Food is actually good, it's too bad they have awful service and they don't let you know the tip is included. We won't be coming back, fool me once shame on them, fooled me twice shame on me. This was my second time and I learned my lesson.

The food is mediocre and over price for what it is. Service is as expected on any other place, nothing special or out of the ordinary. Ambience was quiet, not many customers, maybe because is was around 4pm. Will not be going back.

I've been to El Nuevo Vallarta many times now, however, I've never been here on a Monday! My go to dish is the Langostinos! (Craw fish) they are served with white rice, garlic bread and a side salad. The taste is spicy and garlicky! Their drinks are pricy but delicious! I've had the original margarita, mangonada margarita, mojitos , gin and tonic, buckets of beer, shots of Añejo, mezcal, and a few other tequilas. The crowd is always big, there's always music and live music. It can get a little too loud though. On a Monday our waitress was terrible. She forgot about us for some time! We had to go find her! Then I asked another waitress for assistance and she was incredibly rude! She said "have a seat and wait for you waitress" in Spanish. And at this time I said "I'll go find her myself" The waitresses could use some re training.

It's a very pretty place. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The live music was a bit too loud. I couldn't have a conversation with the people at my table because of the music. The food was OK. The steak wasn't seasoned enough. I have been to better tasting Mariscos places. The service was good. The waitress was attentive. our bill was over $700. For that price, I wouldn't return. I could find a better tasting mariscos place.

Great experience. Food was delicious. My waitress was extremely sweet and friendly. It's a little pricey but the experience is great.

This place is only good for the atmosphere and to drink and listen to live music. The service you get depends on how the waiter sees you. If you look like you have they will give good service and if you look like you are broke as a joke you will get poor service. Food is not the best for the price.

This place sux! The ambiance is ok but the food & drinks are completely overpriced for their mediocrity. On top of spending a hefty tab on our meal, the food made me sick. Stay Away!

The environment is great! Pretty loud but absolutely beautiful Mexican music. Drinks were delicious! Food was great even the dessert was amazing. Definitely recommend this place for friends gathering. Free parking make sure you park your car yourself.

First I want to say if you have hearing issues, do not come here. I have no idea why the music has to be abnormally high, you cannot have a normal conversation nor hear the waitress. Was just painful to my ears the whole 1.5 hours I was there. Service was bad, (shortstaffed). Food was pretty delicious. Will not be coming back though.

This is probably the worst-case and place to go to. The servers are arrogant and there is no management. We got seated and never got a waitress.i rather go to Guadalajara grill across the street. A waitress even cleaned a table and looked at us before walking away. I spent nearly $150.00 somewhere else after I left. El peor lugar, Las meseras de lo mas arrogantes. Esperando mesa y ningun manager en Vista. Los sentaron y nadien los atiendo. El Dinero les a de sobrar porque lo rechasan. Mejor al Guadalajara o El Kora.

OK, I'm between a three and four here. I would say, overall, the experience is good - food and drinks are great and servers are always friendly. Big plus that they have the outdoor patio, which I relish when the weather is nice. My only issue is the *slow* service. Sometimes, it takes them a while to get out there and talk to you. Drinks take maybe 10-15 minutes. Then the food is another 30 minutes or so. If you are not in a hurry and are just hanging out, enjoying the weather (which has been so crazy lately in Chicago) and talking to a bunch of friends, it's great. If you are looking for like a "five star" quick service situation -it's not your place. I'm usually happy to be out of the house and haven't been in a huge rush so I go knowing this. If you are in "chill mode" - this is your spot!

Food was meeehhh or was it the smell of Fabuloso ruining my dinner. The looks great Im willing to pay extra for the experience but they are not avobe any other Mexican seafood that allows the jukebox to be kidnapped by the narcocorridos. They could be somemuch more but unless they dont get rid of the jukebox and play their own music or dont allow the guy at the bar to play music on his phone they will loose the customers that are willing to pay for the experience not the quality.

DELICIOUS FOOD!!!!! Service is excellent.That green sauce is to DIE FOR!! Had such a wonderful time with family.My pasta brava was LOVED by everyone.It literally went all around the table for everyone to try.Plenty of parking.Glad we picked this place!!!

I found this comment on google. I was there when this occurred and I too saw what happened. I don't know why the owner denies that this person works there, if she introduces herself as manager. If you have gone to this restaurant more than once you'll know that she is not only manager but fiancé to one of the owners. So it's not correct that the owner wants to make it seem as if this customer is lying and that this situation didn't occur. They should simply accept that the service is shit. I gave this restaurant a second chance and honestly it wasn't worth it.

El Nuevo León is a very nice Fish food Mexican restaurant but lacks experience to serve and tend the tables we never got a water so good luck with that spicy sauce and no servers around to get you water, I do not understand why Mexican restaurants serve tortilla chips and very hot sauce and leave you to the mercy of choking with NO WATER on the tables. I was so happy to enter this restaurant since I was so happy to finally find a Mexican. Restaurant with a huge parking place. The music is great but the Mariachis never showed up bummer for my Mom since she was looking forward to listen to them. I asked my server for some water 49 minutes later I got a small cup of water and our server had the most horrible attitude to go with my water. I always say if you do not like your job do not work as a server. The issue here is that at the end they want a good tip. The food was ok but I did ask if the sea food was authentic in the vuelve a la vida cocktail and she said yes. When my mom was eating her cocktail huge pieces of FAKE crab was in her cocktail what a disappointment. My dish was the MOL AJETE with stake, chicken and a tiny piece of chorizo and a fresh nopal. The chicken was so dry I could not eat it and the steak was so tuff was not able to chew it. My son had the huachinango it was ok the best thing in this restaurant was the stuff churros but they should warn you EXTREMELY HOT and watch the kids. I do t tho k I will come back is not worth my drive and aggravation

My third time on this place We celebrate my friend bday The server was slow She just appear 3 times on my table For over 2 hours we stay gratuity added No separed checks Atm is available Drinks & food are ok We enjoy the live music banda & mariachi Why is a lady on the washrooms selling gum makeup candie's & more stuff ??? Smh

I stopped by for my girlfriends birthday with my 4 year old daughter. Drove over 1 hour in a snow storm to eat here. Went inside and told us it was a 40 min wait and put us on a waiting list. There was already a line so we waited and everyone we waited with already went in but us which was fine. Now we're waiting with a new group of people and about 8+ more new families went inside before us. We were waiting for over one hour and I seen families wait 20 minutes and they would get hand picked to go inside before us. This system is not first come first serve. Unfortunately we left and didn't eat here. If you want to wait over 1 hour to eat here and like to get cut in line this is the place to go to!!

We dined in as a group yesterday 11/18/20 Unfortunately I have to give the place 2stars solely based on the temperature inside the tent. It was very windy and they did have space heaters inside a semi set up tent but it simply wasn't enough. We were all freezing and certainly didn't expect that to be part of our experience. For the price you're paying listen it better be comfortable enough to be able to eat. We came out of there frozen like popsicles. The service was outstanding and the food was the norm. If they would set the tent up better with less wind getting up in there I would've given the place 3.5 stars maybe even 4.

This place is pretty good. Went here on a Friday at about 5pm as a starter they give you a fish ceviche and green HOT salsa both were great though waitress was unsure what kind of fish it was ...lol I ordered grilled calamari and octopus ceviche from appetizer menu and they were absolutely delicious and fillingAmbience was loud since they had live Mariachi... restaurant is suitable for big crowds and children... it's a historical building so the deco was nice. Service was good; parking is very small and shared with Home Run Inn restaurant ... i would go back to try other things on the menu. Returned to this place.... was as good as the first visit ... this I tried the seafood soup and it was really good...(note, menu did not say it would be spicy, so be aware ... still good though) ... chicken fajitas were good too.

I pass by this place frequently and wanted to try the food. The food on their website looks delicious,but looks can be deceiving. This place is very over priced, for food you can get at sams club.I ordered the salmon italia. It is salmon in a garlic parmesan sauce with a side of vegetable medley and asparagus, and a texas toast. Earlier this morning I was just at Sam's club and literally saw everything identical to what was on the plate. But hey, I though to just go with it since we are out for our wedding anniversary dinner. I was wrong, the asparagus was tough and rubbery. The vegetable medley I can tell it was still frozen because the inside of the cauliflower was freezing while the other veggies were hot. The atmosphere was okay, just like every other Mexican restaurant with musicians playing live music but at a price. We sat in the outdoor patio, when the waitor brought out our sushi, we started to eat but then this women came as asked for a dollar. We politely said we dont carry cash. She then starts to cough right infront our table. Someone that seemed to be from the restaurant comes running out with a dollar in hand and gives it to her. So i assume it happenes all the time. With Covid and her coughing all over our table, it Made us not want to finish the rest of our meal. Horrible experience!! If you like frozen food and being harassed for money and being coughed on during your meal this is the place to go. If not, find a better place with better food.

Ordered thru yelp and they see online orders second to walk ins. Our order took long and it was half full from when you dine in. Containers weren't full, 3 slices of avocado, no salsas, 5 tostadas for a full order of ceviche... not worth the $97 in 3 items.

I do not understand how they are still open with these prices $ 10 tostada and $7 for a beer???? I can get a better food for Less money.

Seafood always fresh and delicious, I was skeptical about the sushi but was happily surprised . Drinks have always been expensive and they are still priced the same although they are in much smaller disposable cups because of covid restrictions. Waitress was not attentive But if you need limes or napkins the busser is great

Went for Mother's Day. We got there early so that was good. It was a nice experience with the live music but expensive! Get ready dish out money.

Plenty of walking space between tables you definitely do not feel like you are sitting or breathing on your neighbors table. I went last night and they had a Mexican Band playing. Banda Los Potrillos, they are one of my favorite local bands. We had already had dinner but decided to have drinks and a light snack (cocktel de camaron). The coctel was nothing special, kind of bland If you ask me and trust me I do not have the most exquisite taste buds. Its nice that most mexican sea food restaurants offer free chips, salsa and ceviche. The ceviche is really fresh and good surprisingly. I know that many people are often picky when it comes to the "fishy" taste but this one had just a right amount of lime juice, spice and salt. The drinks were meh, nothing special. It kind of still boggles my mind that micheladas come with shrimp around the rim. A little weird if you ask me. Who ever said that looked appetizing must have been on something lol. Anyways, a good place to try, nothing special and a bit on the expensive side. Our tab was $200 and no food, just some drinks for an hour. Also: weird that they added the tip for a party of four. Most restaurants do it after a party of 6. She got her 20% with not even the best service.

I stopped in for dinner Last night for the first time and I had the pleasure of being serve by Lani. From the start She was extremely attentive and had answers for all my questions about the menu. She did a phenomenal job! I really enjoy my meal I had "el chapuzón" it was very tasty and delicious, very good portions for the price. My drinks were strong and really good . Lovely environment, it's also perfect to watch sports events .Very unique, great music, mariachi was on fire! Overall an amazing experience, I will definitely come back soon!

PROS: the restaurant was formally a bank so the the actual venue is pretty awesome. They have a vault that they've converted to a private seating area. It has a very beautiful artsy high ceiling and a lot of TV's to watch the games. The food was very tasty similar to all Mexican Seafood restaurants. Servers were super attentive and always checking to see if we need anything and very polite. Plenty of parking and outside seating super cool. CONS: when the bands play it echoes, the loud music was so annoying it hurt my ears, especially the guy that was singing that day made the whole place echo I couldn't have a conversation with my kids. Bummed. The salsa they served was gross it taste so bitter and was not spicy at all. I asked for habanero and they don't make habanero salsa. And the prices were slightly high for the portions. We had oysters with shrimp and octopus and it smelled quite funny so I could only eat one. I know it's seafood so it has that fishy smell but this was more than usual. Overall, I would go back because it's a very cool ambiance and large enough to have a family outing. I don't think I've been to a seafood restaurant that has what this location offers in the berwyn or cicero area. I would recommend having happy hour or specials to promote this restaurant. It has great potential but it lacks originality in food.

Overpriced food. Coctel de camaron was bland. Camarones ala diablo were way to spicy my stomach burned way to much I sent those back. And they charge for a birthday muffin that is hard... the waitress never mentioned that it was a$5.00 charge.. usually other places give you a complementary dessert on your birthday.The only thing that saved the night was the mariachi. 30 per song. For 13 people we paid almost 600.00 for bland overpriced food.

Hello... Hello... Day later and I still can't hear from the loud music! Food is delicious, ambiance is nice but the sound level is just tooo loud. We went for an evening brunch with a group of 10 and couldn't even hear our waiter. For the money paid , I believe we should able to hold our conversation with our group instead of texting my girlfriend sitting next to me!!! Hopefully we can return but with a quieter setting.

Why, why, why?...Why does the banda have to be so loud?!?! If you're looking to go to a concert, then this is the place. If you're looking to go to a restaurant and have a nice dinner with family and catch up, this is definitely not the place. Food was delicious, service was great, music...if you like it as loud as you can stand and be deaf for the rest of the night, resort to texting your family while you're at the restaurant, have the waitress lean over to your ear for every order to every person to hear, than you'll have a great time . C'mon Nuevo Vallarta, get a clue!! Over 800 for dinner and leaving with a bad taste. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Back home now with family, instead of talking about what a great dinner we had, everyone is bad mouthing the loud music, which was actually good if it wasn't at a ridiculously loud volume. My wife is pissed and annoyed for the night after dropping 800. Thanks Nuevo Vallarta.

Service here is terrible, wait staff is rude, everyone looked miserable too. The food is mediocre at best. There are so many great seafood places to go in Chicago, don't waste your time and money here.

Why is this establishment requiring its customers to use valet parking in order to eat here? I literally cannot park in their establishment parking lot unless their valet service does it for me and if I choose to do it myself I am directed to use street parking. Does that even sound right? Manager seemed pretty confused, it's a shame because the place has great food but awful service, starting from the top.
