The Best Latin American Restaurants in the Seattle Area | Eater Seattle

"Located in the Licton Springs neighborhood in North Seattle, El Patio’s wide array of Central and South American fare is worth the trek from downtown. If you are searching for a quick tour of Latin American cuisine, start your meal with the Salvadoran yuca con chicharrones (tender-boiled cassava with crispy bits of fried pork), move on to Colombia’s national dish, the bandeja paisa (a plate of carne asada, sausage, empanadas, rice, beans, arepa, eggs, avocado, fried pork and sweet plantains), and finish with the quintessential Latin American dessert, caramel flan. If you are dining in, El Patio has both indoor and outdoor seating. Otherwise, you can order your meal for takeout or delivery." - Elizabeth Delgado

After a tiring day, I stopped in for a bite to eat and everything seemed excellent. The food was delicious and just how I ordered! I ordered a bandeja paisa with a few extras, but everything was taken into account. I appreciate the attention of the girl who was there at the time; she made my moment perfect with the excellent service and kindness she provided (I asked for her name, Abigail). I recommend visiting if you haven't been. I took this photo, but I had already devoured half of it because it was delicious! Thank you, Abigail, and thank you, Restaurant el Patio.

Food is good, we ordered a few dishes and they were all super tasty. Service is very friendly and attentive. I don’t care if food is authentic or not, as long as they taste yummy but many people come here to dine and leave with happy faces so I think they’re doing something right! I’ll be back to try other dishes on the menu. Highly recommend it!

The food is excellent, and the customer service is generally good, especially when you leave a generous tip. However, during my last visit when I went to pick up an order, I left a five-dollar tip, and the girl who received it didn’t seem happy about it. She started to make a negative comment as soon as I turned around. I chose not to respond, but since she only handed me my receipt and did not serve me at the table, I found her reaction surprising.

El Patio is a pan-Latin American restaurant that serves a huge variety of foods. Their menu is enormous and they have variations from various countries down south. The setting is authentic and although the menus are in English, the staff here try to encourage you to use a little Spanish when you can which is great. Their portions are huge, prices are good for the size and the quality of food is fantastic. They have a lot of seating inside and it's kind of a hole in the wall location, so parking is in the back. It can get crowded weekday nights though, so either go earlier or later for dinner.

El Patio has some amazing Central American and Latin American-inspired cuisine, friendly staff, and a vibrant atmosphere. Given the proximity to a movie theater, I found this delightful place to offer quick services and even better food. The pupusas are filled with cheese, and while not completely authentic, their use of ingredients makes it reminiscent of an almost pupusa. Furthermore, the arepa is pretty much a faux pupusa/quesadilla, which also tasted heavenly. Standouts include beans, rice, pork, chorizo, flank steak, and plantains. The Bendeja Paisa is an excellent platter to share for two with some plantains. A few negative include finding a dead ant in a drink, the staff needing to learn what happy hour is, and the high volume of the music. Other than those misgivings, I look forward to returning.

Yummers! Sat at the bar and drank a house margarita, delicious, while waiting for my to go order. Staff very friendly as were the other customers. I ordered the Pupusas Maiz / Queso con Jalapeño, cheesy spicy deliciousness, and Taquitos Hondurenos, full of flavor!

I am an older gringo that loves most things latin America. I like this place because everyone is speaking Spanish, the soccer game is on the tele, and I feel that I could be in Mexico, Cuba or of course central america. It has a homey vibe. I feel right at home and welcomed (altho I was the only gringo in the place. But I'm used to that from my travels. No problemo.) I have only eaten here twice so far, but the food has been great, with huge portions. Tonight I got 2 huge tamales and the fried bananas with sweetened condensed milk. Yum! Parking is behind, which seemed scary at first, but it is very brightly lit, and there are lots of folks going in and out of the back door to the parking area. So it was fine.

Huge portions and good prices. Didn’t have a vegetarian section on its menu but I ended up ordering sides and made it as a plate. Food was flavorful and fresh! Service forgot my friend’s order but food didn’t take too long!
