Let me tell you, this place is just delicious! My wife was so excited when she opened her chili Relleno and tasted the shrimp Diablo, it did the happy dance. I always go for Juan's favorite, the catfish in a Mexican restaurant with a side salad - it's strange but so tasty. Oh, and you have to try the Victoria beer, it's a bit thicker than usual but really good. And don't forget to add a little shot of Blanco tequila, it's fire! If you want to feel at home, definitely check this place out!!

Google
The amount of time I said “This is SO GOOD!” Is unreal! I see what it has so many 5 Star reviews. The freshest I’ve ever had food at a restaurant. Warm chips and salsa. Great price. Love best service. For sure a return for more place! 5 stars all around. Stop by for food! You will love it! 😊

Google
My brother has El pueblito on his list of places to try in Plano, and we finally had a chance to try it out. We came around 12:30ish on a Saturday and it was already packed. We had a party of 6 so it took awhile to get seated but the wait staff was very courteous and helped us figure out what dishes to try. We got 6 different dishes plus an appetizer of chicken nachos. It was all very delicious. The salsa for the chips was good and the wait staff was constantly making sure we had everything we needed. The prices were very reasonable too for the food portions. We will definitely be back with the extended family.

Google
El Pueblito Mexican Restaurant in Plano, TX, offers a delightful dining experience that beautifully combines charm and authenticity. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the cute and clean atmosphere, which sets a welcoming tone for guests. The menu features a variety of traditional dishes, and I was particularly impressed with the freshness of the chips and salsa. They were vibrant and flavorful, making for a perfect starter. The highlight of my meal, however, was the menudo, which transported me back to my mom's kitchen. It was rich and comforting, a true testament to the restaurant's dedication to authentic flavors. The service was another standout aspect of my visit. The staff was not only fast but also exceptionally polite, ensuring that all our needs were met without delay. Overall, my experience at El Pueblito was wonderful, and I can confidently say that I will be returning for more delicious meals in the future!

Google
El Pueblito cooks up some very tasty Tex-Mex fare. We went on a Sunday, mid-late afternoon, and the place was very busy. It's a small restaurant in a strip mall and every table was full. I was quite surprised; few restaurants fill up at such an hour. They even have a bench seat outside for customers waiting to be seated. The menu is very reasonably priced, and their food is very good. This is a straight up Tex-Mex restaurant and we'll definitely be back. Today we had carne asada, which was very tender and huge...I highly recommend. We also had a full order of chicken fajita nachos; very tasty and the portion was more than enough for one person as a meal. If you live in the area, you'll want to give them a try. We have driven past it many times and never paid much attention until today. I'm glad we stopped in and think you will be too.

UPDATE!!!! We had to go back when we came back to Dallas because the first time was so good…. Only thing wrong is we are so stuffed we’re miserable. Lol Great service. We got enchiladas again, a hard taco and a fajita taco with a side of guacamole. Absolute perfection. THE BEST HOT SAUCE EVER!! OMGoodness THE BEST FOOD. We are from out of town, staying at a local hotel and happened across this place. So glad we did. It was amazing. We both got Enchilada plates that was so good And their hot sauce was also amazing. Very friendly service. Next time in town, we will definitely stop there.

Google
Service was friendly and quick. We took a seat and were given chips and salsa while we looked at the menu. Shrimp cocktail was great.

Google
This is a small restaurant but clearly popular. The wait was not long. I got the Monterrey Dinner. The cheese enchiladas were good. I liked the cheese they used. Hard ground beef taco was ok. I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste of the meat but it was ok. The queso was great! The iced tea was fresh and very good. Service was amazing. Lots of employees, all very friendly. They clear tables as soon as the guest leaves so someone else can sit down. I would come again.

Yelp
Jenny was our server and even though they were extremely crowded, we didn't have a wait and we were treated with excellent service. The sangria was superb. Either I was in the mood for it more than normal or it was better than usual. I don't know which but I know that it was enjoyed thoroughly. It could be that's why this review is so good. It could be this is a sangria fueled review. I don't know but, moving on to the queso, which was the perfect compliment to warm fresh chips. Delicious! I have no idea what I ordered but it was yummy. Again, I think the sangria might be controlling the review. I pointed to a picture on the lower right, and Jenny said that it was on the next page toward the bottom. I looked it up. It is on the specialty menu called a steak picado. Chopped beef steak, cooked with tomatoes, onions, fresh jalapeños. Served with tortillas, rice and vegetarian refried beans. Wife had single fajitas mixed beef & chicken. While not as tender beef as in previous visits, everything was definitely fresh & flavorful. We did not try the flan which is made on premise. That's for next time. Waddled out to the car. Happy like everyone around us. Did not take pictures this time. Should have. Next time pictures first. We'll be back. RECOMMENDED.

Yelp
We've been going to this family owned spot for years and we adore it so much! I always get the beef fajita tacos and I love how spicy the hot sauce is. The mural is super dope as well and adds a nice touch to this inside. The service is always so good too :)

Yelp
Yesterday I wanted Mexican food. I googled it 'near me.' This is the number 1 place in Plano on Trip Advisor. It was surprisingly good on Spring Creek and Alma. El Pueblito. Really authenticate, good prices. At one point you could not get a table. Open since 1996. We got really good queso, half order of bean and cheese nachos. Also, a churro with caramel melted inside with vanilla ice cream. I definitely recommend the dessert. They were out of sopapillas. I guess they go fast.

Yelp
clean place and great service. The margarita was great and the food tasty and not a bad thing to say about it. The redfish portion is amazing and tasted great
google avatar

Ajay S.

Yelp
The place was packed when I came here for take out. Tried a taco and blanco dinner. Both were ok. Asked for their spicy salsa to go but got mild I think. Also ordered fries but they gave me rice, which I won't go back for the fries. Overall it's ok.

Yelp
We have been coming to El Pueblito for at least 9 years. It's a small, family owned, owned authentic Mexican food restaurant. If you are looking for TexMex, this is likely not the place for you. The best things about the place are the owners and their AMAZING AUTHENTIC food!!! Jen, Omar, Eric and Martin (to name a few) are always happy and willing to serve with a smile. There isn't a bad item on the menu. There's never an unhappy person in the place. The restaurant is always clean. It's nice to go to a place where they know you. It's a rare occasion when our server doesn't already know what we will order. If we order something out of the usual, they raise their eyebrows! They have great prices and the portions are great. Every time our friends and family come to town they ask if we can take them to our favorite Mexican Food place and we know exactly where they want to go! It's a small place but the wait is never too long. The usual/return customers know to come in, eat and leave because people are waiting.

Yelp
This place was average to me. I ordered the beef fajita quesadillas, and it was a little bland. It could have used more flavor. The salsa that came with the chips was a little runny that day Someone else had ordered the beef enchiladas, and she said it was bland with little flavor. Maybe it was an off day, but I don't see myself going here again.
google avatar

Kaye A.

Yelp
Kind of a small hole in the wall place, but one obviously well run. Lots of originality in decor and handcrafted wood furniture which was impressive. Place was packed for lunch on a Saturday and it seemed like most were regulars. The portions were very generous for fairly reasonable price. Service was good despite how busy it was and the servers all seemed very on top of topping off iced teas and chip basket, which is my hubby's personal benchmark! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
The absolute best Mexican food in North Texas. The chile rellenos or the die for and the prices can't be beat. I like ordering off the a la carte menu; check it out. We've been going here for close to 15 years. The service here is top notch!!! My wife's favorite is the lunch chicken fajitas. Larry & Melinda Wright

Yelp
We've been taking the family here since 2007. Aside from the obvious remodel, not a lot has changed at El Pueblito over the years. It's still the same family, using the same recipes, providing the same welcoming service, and sharing the same incredible food. This place is an absolute gem!
google avatar

Mindi A.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood restaurant with good prices. Nothing fancy but the queso is good. the salads aren't great, but you generally don't have a salad at a Mexican restaurant. (Trying to be dairy and gluten free, so that's on me). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
google avatar

Sydney W.

Yelp
Beef fajitas were the star of the show. The Sopaipilla was a little hard and crunchy. Our fajitas tasted fresh and the salsa was delicious and spicy!

Jalecia M.

Yelp
I ate here recently & whatever they put in their meat had me on the toilet begging for my life.. never again and the price is giving inflammation
google avatar

Maryanne R.

Yelp
I've always loved the food at this small but mighty restaurant. Really good tex mex and great service. I've eaten in and taken out so all were good experiences. The chicken quesadillas are great!!
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious! I will go back for the sour cream chicken enchiladas
google avatar

Yelp
Had the Carne Asada and it was terrific. Service was very attentive. Went for lunch early to avoid the noon rush. Recommend any time.
google avatar

Jhovvany S.

Yelp
If you're having a hard time finding quality mexican food with great service and reasonable prices, then look no further! Eric was my server and he was excellent This a family owned and operated restaurant, the only complaint is that it's a a little small. (But not cramped) This place lives up to the hype! Just look our food! Definitely coming back
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Divey place in which the quality of the food and drinks unfortunately matches the (lack of) atmosphere. The fajitas were drab. Queso was not any better than homemade velveeta queso and the marg was limey and not near as strong as some of even the chains.
google avatar

CW G.

Yelp
Service is always good, great Tex-Mex dishes, fajitas good, enchiladas good, taco's good, fajita nachos good, queso good. Wonderful little Mexican restaurant. When a place gets a crowd at 4pm on a Thursday not because of some happy hour or special, just because it's good, you know your in the right place. Cheers El Pueblito and gracias for being so good!
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
This unassuming family restaurant is the best kept secret in Plano....actually, the word must have gotten out as it was crowded early on a Tuesday night. The food's great and reasonably priced. Their margaritas are great too!
google avatar

Terri J.

Yelp
Full disclosure - I've only been here once and it was for my menudo fix. So freaking authentic! It tasted like my mother in law's (god rest her soul) recipe and came piping hot with beautiful pieces of tripe and just seasoning on par. The also served thin chips and some tangy salsa that really made the meal and the place was PACKED on a Saturday morning. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Stacy W.

Yelp
We love this place!! It's our go to after church Everything is amazing we love the pozole, menudo and the best enchiladas I've ever had! Staff is great, always craving this place
google avatar

Cam M.

Yelp
Best Mexican food!!! Every time i come here the staff is excellent and attentive when i'm eating inside. I normally get chicken enchiladas (verde and sour cream sauce mixed) and my boyfriend got the smothered burrito. We got nachos as an appetizer to share. Everything was fresh and delicious!! Food 10/10

Linda S.

Yelp
The prices are more than it is on their menu here. If I had known it would be double the price I would never have wasted my time here. Food was just ok

Speedi A.

Yelp
Cozy little place with great service ..... best of all the food was amazing and different kind of spices on an old traditional dish....... Go check them out
google avatar

Jayesh S.

Yelp
This is an amazing place if you want to try authentic food. Their Steak Quesadilla, pollo asado street tacos are simply amazing. Always full around lunch hours so be prepared to wait. They will throw in spicy sauce if you ask for it when going for take out. Nice place to spend the afternoon with your boys watching the game. Overall, will definitely recommend El Pueblito's!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The 4.5 star rating is a pretty good indicator you should eat here. A small restaurant will lots of tables jammed into every inch. But they are so popular they need all those tables! We only waited about 10 minutes. The chips were thin and crispy. The hot sauce was very thin and runny, but man was it good! Lots of waiters doing a great job taking care of everyone. It didn't take long for Glenda to slam down her sour cream enchiladas. She said they were great! My full order of beef nachos was indeed large, and more than I could eat. I should have gotten a side of lettuce and tomatoes to top them, as thats how I like my nachos. Prices were decent, and we were happy with our meal. The 4.5 star rating is correct. Good service and great food. Your turn!

Yelp
1. Chimichanga rating: The presentation I felt really good about and had high hopes! I was VERY impressed with the crunch on the chimichanga. Sometimes the tortilla gets soggy cause of the cheese but not this one! The seasoning on the fajita beef mixed with the shredded cheese on the inside went really well together. With all of this goodness, I felt there was something missing on the inside...maybe some kind of rice or onions or something. All and all it was really good! I'd give this chimichanga a 4/5!! 2. Beef enchilada (with flour tortillas) rating: Presentation was amazing! The ground beef didn't have any flavor which made the meal pretty bland. However I poured some of the queso we ordered on top and it instantly upgraded the flavor! Unfortunately the ground beef still lacked flavor I have to give it a 2/5 3. Queso with beef: This queso was the same as what was on the chimichanga. Everyone loved it. As long as it's hot your good to go. I give it a 4/5 The salsa was good but it's not your typical chunky salsa. could tell the parsley was FRESH!! We also ordered chicken nuggets a crunchy beef taco and a frozen margarita! My wife said "this is how you make a margarita!!" So I can only assume it's a 5/5 Our server name was Omar. Seemed like every table there was his and we never had to ask for a refill or ANYTHING! We left him a generous tip! Definitely would recommend! Overall 3.75/5 but will leave !!

Yelp
Prompt service and excellent drinks. I had a strawberry margarita on the rocks and it had a nice balanced flavor. We ordered the chicken flautas and carne asada. Both were tasty and authentic Mexican flavors. Will come back again for sure!

Yelp
After reading all the great reviews for El Pueblito, my son and I couldn't wait to try it out! I ordered the chile rellenos and my son ordered the crispy tacos. We started out with the chips and salsa which were very good! The salsa was definitely made from scratch - very mild, not spicy at all, and the chips were fresh and warm. Not sure if those were made on site but still, really good regardless. The meals arrived at our table without a long wait and the plates were nice and warm. We dug in! The chile rellenos were difficult to cut and eat because the overwhelming amount of cheddar jack cheese. (Not the usual Monterey jack or white Mexican cheese as is the authentic version). I struggled with the cheese and finally ended up scrapping the gooey blob off to the side. The chile tasted scorched or something, not the usual mild roasted chili poblano flavor. The ranchera sauce was ok, nothing great. My son said the tacos were hardly any better than Taco Delite tacos and the freshness of the tomatoes were like Whataburger. He thought the rice and beans were good. I ordered the verde enchiladas to go. Upon opening the container at home, I saw they had provided the enchiladas as expected but there were barely two teaspoons of both rice and beans (I measured). The container had ample room for at least what you would get on your plate at the restaurant (1/2 cup). I don't think the restaurant was having an "off" night. I think this is just the quality they produce daily. Overall, my son and I were really disappointed. We use Casa Mamma in Plano as the benchmark of a really good Mexican restaurant but enjoy trying to find new places. So far, we haven't found any place that comes close to beating them.

Laurie K.

Yelp
Restaurant is a hidden gem. Service is always fast & friendly. Food selection is plentiful and every meal tastes great! Place stays busy, but they move you in and out swiftly.
google avatar

May G.

Yelp
I got the half chicken quesadilla and my bf got the hald beef quesadilla. It came with guacamole and sour cream. Half was 4 pieces and I could only finish 2 pieces. I thought the quesadilla needed more cheese. It felt more like a taco than a quesadilla. I did like adding the guacamole to the quesadilla.
google avatar

Jeanie M.

Yelp
We loved this place. It's very casual. There was plenty of seating--but it does fill up sometimes. Parking was very close. The food was delicious. We had fajitas. We also ordered guacamole. Everything was fresh and very good. Fajitas were served sizzling. Staff were attentive. The restaurant was clean. Hubby and I agreed that we'd happily return.

Bill R.

Yelp
Excellent all around! Good food. Good service. Reasonably priced. Nice and friendly environment.

Yelp

Yelp
Second time here and oh my goodness, so delicious! I will definitely be visiting more and trying new things. We got beef enchiladas and beef quesadillas, both were amazing! Lots of great flavor, reasonable prices, and great service!
google avatar

Ruta J.

Yelp
Had a late lunch, wasn't too busy but steady. The service was good as well as the food. The restaurant is small but clean and great murals painted on the wall. I got the enchiladas verde dinner and it really hit the spot. Their salsa was also very good. I will be returning whenever I am in the area. If you're looking for good authentic Mexican meal, this is your place.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Finally found an authentic Mexican restaurant. I ordered the Carne Asada which was cooked perfectly. Nicely marinated and not tough. The sides of beans and rice were great - ate it all and I usually don't eat these. Others in my party had Blanca Dinner which was nice and creamy; Steak Picado which was raved about. Nice combo of chopped steak and tomato's, onions, jalapeño's. We had some of that with our eggs the next morning. All very tasty, and nice size helpings. Didn't leave hungry, can't wait to try it again. Had a Sutter Home red which is low end stuff but didn't taste too bad... and it was priced right. It is a small space so plan on a wait. Also, cash only.
google avatar

Louie M.

Yelp
Where do I start..... customer service/wait staff are very attentive to the guests. Food is so authentic. Definitely going back.

Yelp
A new favorites text message restaurant serving Plano Great Cuisine!! Super happy with the chili Reno, and will definitely be getting this again!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure why its so hard to find good Mexican food around here but it is. I was floored by how great El Pueblito was. Their service was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and food was out of this world good! They actually know how to make pork carnitas right! It was soooooooo good. Their steak fajitas were amazing too. The meat was cooked perfectly and tender. Coming back and coming back a lot!!!

Leeann H.

Yelp
Good food, ambiance, and service! Already have gone back! It's a great hole in the wall!
google avatar

Zachary M.

Yelp
This restaurant's high Yelp reviews are accurate. Simply delicious Tex mex. I have been more than 30 times here, and the quality is consistent and predictable. I've tried most items on the menu and they are all good, even things I predicted I wouldn't enjoy. Don't get start me started on the awesome fresh tortilla chips worth savory salsa. Outstanding. The service is excellent. For the past 5 years I have seen the same servers work here, indicating that they do a good job keeping their employees. Food comes out fast. Takeout is excellent. Only small con: no draft beer, but that's not a big deal considering how great every other aspect of this place is. They do get crowded occasionally, which is a byproduct of their deserved success.
google avatar

Calvin H.

Yelp
Me and my family always come here for dinner. We quickly became friends with the people who own the restaurant. My favorite thing about this place is that the food tastes so damn good every time. I never had an issue with anything there. I would highly recommend coming to this place!! I love El Pueblito so much
google avatar

Dean L.

Yelp
I am not a fan of texmex but this place was great. The line moved quickly and the staff were very friendly and patient. The food was great! I got the carne asada and it was so tender. I literally couldn't think of anything to complain about. Very clean. They served us fast too. Overall a great experience. The atmosphere is also great. Tons of family and small groups. The ice cold glass with my beer was a great touch too. I recommend this place as much as I can.
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
Always a great time. The food is excellent. Every time the service is wonderful. We always enjoy going here. It's always packed.
google avatar

Benjamin L.

Yelp
El Pueblito is one of the best restaurants in Plano. Not the fanciest, not the most expensive, not the most exotic, but one of the best. The food is really flavorful Tex-Mex. From the enchiladas (all types but my favorite are the sour cream chicken enchiladas) to the fajitas to the guacamole to the Chile rellenos to everything! The chips and salsa are fresh and light. The fajitas are tender and sizzling. The shrimp Diablo is spicy! The restaurant is family owned and staffed and the service is very homey. Yeah, it's a strip mall with tight parking and sometimes it gets crowded, but it's worth a bit of a wait on a Saturday night. Not greasy or heavy but still real Tex-Mex. Their take out is terrific too. Really fast! I'm attaching a photo of my favorite - the Blanca dinner (with a glass of 2015 Bordeaux.)
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
FIVE STARS for the best authentic Mexican food in North Texas. We enjoyed the food immensely!! Fresh ingredients, delicious hot food, excellent seasoning and delightful service. We literally have lived in this area for over 25 years and this sweet spot was merely 3 miles from our house, lol.
google avatar

Jenny E.

Yelp
Just went here with my son for dinner. Overall it was good! Positives- great service, good ambiance and prices, fast delivery of food, awesome chips and salsa. The food itself we would give 3 stars. Queso was good. My son ordered three crunchy beef tacos. They were ground beef (maybe we didn't read the menu well enough- thought it would be shredded), and the shell is what was mediocre... store bought and cold. I ordered two enchiladas and a beef taco dinner. Enchiladas were good- I love a hot plate for my food and this was! We both thought rice was good and so were the beans, but it felt like the beans were on the skimpy side. Overall, if we lived closer we'd go again and try other items. The place was busy and it looked like a lot of people were ordering fajitas. It's worth it to go.
