El Quetzal - Review - Beacon Hill - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Fish tacos are already the fun, flip-flop-wearing, margarita-sipping member of the taco world, but this casual, sit-down spot in Beacon Hill makes them even more exciting. Stretchy flour tortillas come splattered like a Jackson Pollock painting with melty white cheese, then get stacked with a hunk of crispy cornmeal-breaded fish. And the real excitement happens when matchstick-thin green apple slices join a hodgepodge of red onion, cilantro, and tomato on top. The result is a little sweet, a little tart, and a nice refreshing contrast to all that buttery, flaky fish." - Kayla Sager-Riley

The Best Restaurants in Seattle’s Beacon Hill Neighborhhod | Eater Seattle

"El Quetzal has been one of Becon Hill’s premier Mexican eateries since opening in 2006. Their restaurant is consistently filled with regulars that flock to El Quetzal’s homey space for authentic Mexican eats. Quality iterations of favorites like tacos, tortas, and enchiladas can be found on the menu along with a bevy of rotating specials like mole con pollo and more. Their emphasis on homemade quality shines through in every dish." - Joey Carreon

We were seated right away. They seem non- traditional as we were not gven chips or salsa. We had to order those separately. (not free). Had the Enchiladas Verde. Pretty good, had a little kick. The servings were kinda small for the price. The service was on point.

Super friendly and great atmosphere. The food was amazing and the blueberry mojito was a 10/10. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for something authentic and good!

Our frequent friday nite family dinner spot serving authentic large portion plates! Their specials are always superb- menudo, enchilada mole, and a lamb shank braised last nite! My photos of the fish tacos dont do it justice- large and loaded and all meals large enough to feed 2.

Absolutely delicious food in a friendly place ~ I had the enchiladas bandito and a spicy cocktail of mango and mescal. Really a delight. My partner had the tacos and swears by them.

A lot of vegetarian options! Love the veggie tacos (best I’ve ever had!) and massive glass of mango fresh water! Service was friendly and attentive — they offered us to-go cup for our unfinished drinks! Thank you!!

We LOVE this place. The Chili Verde was more flavorful than spicy which is perfect. The service was friendly and attentive. Expect to spend $13-$18 per person for a meal price and $10-$13 for a specialty cocktail which was honestly refreshing in this $18 a cocktail culture we live in haha. They do charge for chips which is fine but we didn’t notice it on the menu right away. The margaritas were great and the music was chill. Great place and fantastic food.

We were looking for places around the area to hangout, grab some drinks and snacks. They have amazing micheladas, they serve them on cold glasses, salty rims, with cucumber and orange that pair well with it They have daily specials, I will try the cochinita pibil, that I couldn't last time

The space was larger than I expected. The food was SUPER tasty, always excited when there’s seasoned food in Seattle. Definitely recommend, the drinks were also delicious! 10/10 for sure. Kind staff as well!
