A compact counter-service cantina turning out assertive salsas, birria quesatacos, grilled nopales, and seafood plates. Regulars rave about the El Rey burrito and late-night hours on weekends. Busy, lively, and very local.

Great food! All fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. Friendly staff. A must try in the area

Google
This place is great everything is good, but it's hott as heck, not sure if they thought it was cool in the building, but it wasn't. No A/C food great atmosphere great everything great. Just not cool enough to eat there.

Jon Horne

Google
Great food, especially if you're wanting your Mexican food "fix"!

Google
Looking for tasty and flavorful Mexican food? Definitely, this is the place. Most of the dishes you can find here are delicious, but the Fish Tacos... oh, man! Are sublime and totally recommended. 🤤 Also, Asada and Pastor tacos, Burrito el Rey and Asada Burrito are mouthwatering, but being honest, Fish Tacos are "the cherry on top of the cake". Additional to your order, you can pick some great salsas and guac from the salsa bar and some toppings including pickled red onions, pickled carrots and limes. Either you dine in or take out, as a garnish, they'll add some grilled onions, cactus and blistered peppers. Which I think, it's excellent service. Usually, this place gets very busy, so be patient. They'll work as fast as they can to deliver your order.

Google
El Rey is our ultimate favorite spot for tacos in Corona. The food is all delicious. All meat is flavorful. The fish tacos are crispy and amazing. The staff is super friendly and the location is clean. Their salsas are also really good. I love this place.

Google
Found this place a few years back and it is the best place for Mexican food in Corona. The price is worth it for the portions and it is also very delicious. This is my to go spot when I want tacos or a burrito 🤤🤤🤤

Google
I ordered on Saturday 8/9/25 and my mom went to pick up for me. I told her to bring me salsas and radish and as she was getting that, she saw the girl grabbing the radishes and veggies with her bare hand after charging my mom. I thought that was unsanitary even my mom got mad. I feel bad for the people that got those veggies, she was also not in a good mood and made my moms first time there feel unwelcome, and my torta online said it was 14.99 and in store they charge 15.99. Y’all need to check your prices online and fix that. Overall the food doesn’t taste the same as it did years ago.

Google
Staff was super friendly and the tacos were really well made. The best tacos in Corona. They come on double tortilla, individually wrapped in a parchment paper and topped with an avocado salsa. The meat is crispy and well flavored. Aguas frescas available. Might have some of the best Mexican food in Corona. So good

Yelp
I had a mulita de carne asada and a taco de al pastor. The mulita was hands down the best I've ever had! The salsa bar has an excellent selection of salsas, purple onions, cucumbers, and other delicious taco toppings. The food was full of flavor, and I highly recommend this taco shop.

Yelp
They only do Menudo and Pozole on the weekends. I came here specifically because I wanted both but i missed any messages or photos that may have indicated this. Ambiance 5/5 Hole in the wall Ambiance, plenty of seating, air conditioned its everything youd expect from a local hole in the wall Service 3/5 Standard not terrible but not really above and beyond. They get the job done. Food Will be edited after my family gets their meal

Yelp
Terrible. Our meat was old, dry, and cold. We got 3 different meats, and every one of them was bad. The tortillas were decent. The salsa bar was a wreck. Place was busy, so maybe it was an off day for them. We won't be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here a few times but this last time solidified for me that these are one of the best tacos in Corona. They also have by far the best horchata out of any place here! We got the carnitas tacos which were so juicy and delicious not dry at all. My boyfriend got the Al pastor taco and torta and it was delicious. Don't forget to ask for the grilled onions, jalapeños, and nopales. Definitely will be coming back more often.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok I've tried and handful of tacos spots in Corona and this is by far my favorite. The tacos are loaded, the meat is flavorful and they serve nopales (cactus) and onions on the side. They also aren't stingy on the toppings. I will be here often and I will become a regular. Love this place.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Great food, especially if you're needing your Mexican fix! I would definitely highly recommend, especially if you're in the Corona area.

Yelp
I have came here easily over a dozen times. I really wish they would pick up their phone more often to order ahead as there is usually a very slow moving line and a wait for the food. It is also very small and hot inside. It can get crowded very easily. The food is delicious. Have tried their Tortas, Tacos, Quesabirrias, Pozole, Menudo, Burritos. It is all very good! Sometimes I won't come here just because of the ordering situation and wait time. They only have one cashier and it can easily be 45 minute just to get your food from the time you arrive.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Best tacos in town!! The burritos are so big you can share, I always share the carne asda fries.. Love all the condiments you can get and the salsas are so good!

Yelp
El Rey is a hole in the wall Mexican food joint on the Sixth street. It's not visible from the street so my friend missed it the first time driving by. But it is well worth the trouble because its food is amazing. I ordered a quesa birria because today is Tuesday and it was served piping hot, fresh off the grill, juicy and tasty. The El Rey burrito was pretty good too. Large portion and very satisfying. El Rey's salsa bar offers a good selection of pickled vegetables, 2 green and 2 red salsas. The hot salsa is packed with some heat, which I liked. El Rey is limited in its seating area and not many parking spots for the whole strip mall. Today it played Mexican songs so loud my friend and I had a hard time hearing each other. So it's really 4.5 Stars to me but I rounded it up for food sake.

Yelp

Yelp
If you call there is only one line and the call doesn't go through. If they do answer they put you on hold and they just leave you there waiting. I am currently waiting and its been 21 minutes and 6 seconds. I understand restaurants get busy but this customer service is unacceptable. The food has been pretty good and we used to order almost every Friday but now we try to have other options.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is very clean and the dining room is nice. I am writing this review to thank the staff for taking my order at closing time and for making exceptionally delicious ceviche. Highly recommend. Good for taking a family.

Yelp
If that's the best Mexican food in Corona I'm sorry. My husband said menudo was good full of meat. I had shrimp tacos unfortunately battered and fried I wasn't expecting that. Son had 3 taco combo stopped eating after 1st taco guess we are spoiled by our taco man in Long Beach ‍‍

Yelp
Food was good. Cashier could be nicer, major RBF like she don't even wana work there. Don't work in customer service if you don't want to be around people. Got my food Togo and asked for my burrito to be cut in half and they charged a service fee of .75 cents and then when I got the burrito it wasn't even cut in half.. what a joke! Since when is taking a knife and cutting something in half an extra charge?! Portions were okay.. I've had bigger at other places for cheaper. The taste of the food was good though.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place but lately when I've placed phone orders they either don't answer or they take a long time to take an order. I get they are busy but that's the point of calling in. They have the music so loud it adds to the difficulty of phone ordering. When I I come in to pick up my order there's salsa bar is never stocked and then when you ask them if they can refill it, they just say we don't have anymore, which I don't understand how it happens every time .its disappointing because the salsa bar is where you get what you need for the food you just paid for. It's been on at least 3 occasions. So I don't think it's by accident

Bertha G.

Yelp
Excellent food with exceptional service. Very clean and welcoming. Their agua frescas especially their horchata are very good.

Yelp
Corona has it going on for unique takes on tacos, and El Rey is worth seeking out. In a recessed mini plaza off 6th Street in the old town, my recommendation is to go before the lunch rush. I dined in both times I visited, and the quality of the food and sides is amazing. Grilled cactus and onions, salsa choices ranging from medium to quite hot, and a wide range of side veggies. It's definitely a popular place, and the steady flow of people is testimony to their quality. They were grilling a bunch of chicken the first time, and it got smoky inside until someone opened a door. My house special burrito had both carne asada and al pastor inside, and everything was perfectly cooked and assembled. I blended two salsas and loved it all. My second visit a week later was equally enjoyable and slightly more expansive. I'd like to try something from the mariscos menu in the future. Until then, go here and try a new take on old favorites.

Yelp
The only time I eat menudo is when I go to Guadalajara, Mexico. I always go to Menuderia La Estancia. But I was craving menudo and I wasn't in the mood to fly out. So I stopped at El Rey Tacos y Mariscos and ordered a bowl of there menudo. Dang! It was delicious and flavorful. I enjoyed it so much I have returned four times in total. I always have the menudo with a tall bottle of Coca Cola. Pairing these two makes the experience extra special.

R. M.

Yelp
As a Mexican cook myself, there is a very difficult dish to prepare and maintain the original taste: it's Menudo. El Rey Tacos y Mariscos has the best menudo that I ever had. I drive 45 minutes over the weekend just to try it. Congrats to the cook. Great taste, original and delicious. I tried different restaurants before where the flavor is garlicky and unpleasant smell. El Rey Restaurant provides generous portions for the price. Staff are very friendly. I also tried the shrimp cocktail. It's delicious and fresh. Love it. Food is 5+starts. The bathroom and restaurant are very clean and well maintained. The only downfall of this place is the loud music. It is so loud that it's so annoying and difficult to have a conversation. Awful taste of music. If you decide to eat in, make sure to get some ear plugs. Reason I give a 4 rating.

Yelp
I came for the fish tacos for lunch, and I was a little disappointed. The prices are high, presentation was messy and tacos were a bit bland :(

Yelp
PROS: - Their food is amazing here! - The employees are super friendly. - They appear to grill their asada over a mesquite fire, and you can taste it. - The burrito was fantastic. - The shrimp and fish tacos were good, but could use a lot less sauce. - The horchata is DELICIOUS here, but be warned my fellow lactose intolerant diners, I asked and they do use dairy milk in the drink. - The a la carte salsa bar, carrots, and condiments. - The salsas are pretty good with 5 different choices. CONS: - The parking lot here is tiny.

Yelp
BOMB home style food we love you. Fish tacos were awesome had two sauces and they ripped.

Yelp
I wish I would have found El Rey Tacos sooner, everything we had was delicious! :) The customer service was also great. I had the carnitas tacos plate, so good. I already can't wait to go back. The salsas were all very tasty too. Thanks again El Rey you did not disappoint. :)

Leslie R.

Yelp
This is the best taco spot in Corona by far. Most taco places are good the first time, but drop in quality. This place has been consistently great the 10+ times I have been here. I order carne asada tacos and they are always fresh along with the salsa from the salsa bar. Everyone that works there has been friendly and they have great service.

Greg H.

Yelp
Fish tacos best in corona . Lots of meats to also choose from. Salsa bar hits with cucumbers , red onions and lots of different salsas. Low prices and packed for lunch. Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Torres A.

Yelp
First timer .. Was trying to make an order on the phone and was put in hold for 35min. So I hung up and decided to still give it a shot and ate in the restaurant. The food was actually amazing but the service does suck. The salsas were not the best but the food does make up for it all lol. Hate to say it but I'll definitely be back best Mexican food in the IE
google avatar

Yelp
May be my new to place for some good Mexican food. I got a big Togo order. Everything was pretty good. I like all the salsa different hot mild and super spicy. The family liked the food. Clean place looking. Give it a try. I would come back here again when I'm in town.

Yelp
If you are looking for tacos, fries, sopes, quesadillas, agua frescas, anything and everything more... THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! Food is freshly made, atmosphere is clean, and staff is AMAZING! They were so kind, welcoming and recommended us sooo many good dishes. We got all 3 agua frescas, 3 taco combo plate, pastor taco, sopes, shrimp tacos and el rey pastor fries. All were sooo goood. We will definitely be back for the tortas. Hands down the best place in Corona. Thank you El Rey!!!
google avatar

Courtney R.

Yelp
OHHH MMMM GGGG!! Pastor Molitas. Literally the best thing I've tasted in my life. Not even kidding!! this salsa bar has everything you need from guacamole, Roja sauce, Verde sauce, cilantro and limes. This place beats any Mexican food I've tasted in the inland empire!
google avatar

Edgar ..

Yelp
My go to spot when I'm craving one of there bomb ass carne asada burrito they never disappoint. Service is always great there super polite always greet everyone like they're family. Love that every single time I've been here place is always full. Great sign that the food is always fresh.
google avatar

Brittney L.

Yelp
Food was good it was Smokey in there so it was better to sit by the door way I would get the asada fries again but the prices were a lil much I've never spent $15-16 on a torta and tacos are $3.25 each yes they have a nice salsa bar good salsas but again I spent almost $60 on a torta bean and cheese burrito was $6.99 that's the most I've ever spent on a bean and cheese too ,asada fries and 4 tacos .. so I would just get fries don't need the rest for the price but again salsas are good and asada meat was good
google avatar

Jessie T.

Yelp
I was craving street tacos and I found this place. I ordered six tacos two Cabeza, 2 Legua and 2 asada with everything on it. It came with a side of grlled nopales and cebolla And it was pretty good! I ordered it to go.

Estef S.

Yelp
Mi primera vez aquí y fueron muy amables conmigo respondiendo mis preguntas sobre el menú, y la comida muy buena! Recomendado
google avatar

Maryam A.

Yelp
On our way to Joshua Tree, we stopped here for a quick bite. There were many meats that I was unfamiliar with and so of course, I wanted to try them but most of it was pork. Una lastima para mi. The lengua was my favourite. Everyone was really happy with their orders. Though note that the bean and cheese burrito has a LOT of cheese - it's very heavy both in weight and will make you feel like your arteries are shutting down. Don't forget to order the nopales!
google avatar

Rebecca E.

Yelp
Straight fire!! We ordered 4 tacos, torta, breakfast chorizo burrito, and chicken burrito. Came out to $44. The picketed onions and salsa were abundant. Service was quick. They just had an issue hearing my order over the phone because the music is HELLA LOUD. Lol I called my order in while at Kohls and was practically yelling my order into the phone hahaha. Embarrassing? Yes.... But I'd do it again if it meant I could get more tacos!
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
Service was good everyone was nice, and helpful when questions were asked. There wasn't anyone inside the restaurant, it was extremely hot making a little uncomfortable to eat. The AC felt like it was on but not much air was coming out. We got the carne asada fries. It would have been better if they could replace the nacho cheese with regular cheese. The fries got soggy quick, and the tacos were decent.
google avatar

Alonso L.

Yelp
The food here is bomb.I have been here twice now and I will continue to come back. The staff here is super nice and they accommodate big crowds. (We were a party of 12)
google avatar

Carlitos A.

Yelp
I recently went to this place. The food is decent. Unfortunately the music was so loud that was a little bit of disturbing. Overall the place is OK.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
One of the best carne asada burritos I've ever had. And I have had many. The salsa bar is filled with tasty salsas and toppings. They give you a side of grilled onions and jalapeños This place knows what it's doing! The sad part is, I was traveling from the valley and wont be able to visit this place often. Next time I come down to Temecula, I am stopping here !
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
I was craving some tacos badly and seen this place on Yelp and seen all the great reviews. Inside is a bit small but luckily there wasn't a big crowd when I went. Inside they are blasting music pretty loud so you gotta talk a little loudly if you want to be heard. They have an area where you can get your condiments and salsa to go! Plenty of salsa flavors to choose from ranging from mild all the way to spicy!!! I ordered 10 tacos and their piña and pepino (pineapple and cucumber) agua Fresca. That's how fire it was! I had asada, Al pastor, carnitas, and chorizo. The tacos come with onions and cilantro but you can option out of that if you don't like them. The tacos come with grilled onions and nopales (cactus) and grilled jalapeños I believe it was. My first bite I was in heaven and even did a little dance that how fire the tacos were. Every single meat choice that I ordered did not disappoint at all. These are the best tacos that I had in a really long time for a decent price. I highly recommend this place if you are craving some bomb tacos! You won't be disappointed. I am for sure for sure coming back to this place again lol.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
I love this place but the other day I ordered a torta no mayo so I was told they prep the bread for tortas with mayo early in the morning so.. that's kinda gross.. so I order 2 tacos so today I went to get a burrito TO THE OWNER this place is popular but don't mess it up... there's no good Mexican places in corona... don't make me drive to Santa Ana for yummy food
google avatar

Beverly U.

Yelp
Wow. All I can say is wow. These are definitely the best tacos I've had in years. We had a company event and we ordered their carne asada tacos and their chicken tacos with rice, beans, grilled onions, jalapeños and nopales. Everything was fantastic. The chicken was so flavorful and well seasoned. The carne asada was juicy and packed with all types of seasonings. I tried nopales for the first time and it was delicious. I will be going back here to try their tortas, burritos and ceviche. Great job!
google avatar

Briana S.

Yelp
I will definitely be returning! I got a carne asada burrito, and could not be more pleased with my choice. It was delicious!!!
google avatar

Maureen J.

Yelp
It can get packed here! The food is good with affordable prices. It's not a place recommended for large groups as the dining area is small. The shrimp tostada was pretty big considering it was only $6.99! My gf really enjoyed it.
google avatar

Kia V.

Yelp
This place is sooo bomb! I got their fish taco, shrimp taco, and ceviche. It was so good! You know it's a legit place when they give you a self serve sauce bar . My friend ordered posole and a birria taco and she said it was yummy, delicious!!!
google avatar

Ed S.

Yelp
Great food, location is very convenient. Birria combo is the best meal. Carne asada tacos are very good here too
google avatar

Lena S.

Yelp
Great Al pastor burritos, or any burritos are good, their fruit salads are good, and they have a great salsa bar and have pretty good pinto beans.

Phil M.

Yelp
The Best Mexican Takeout in Riverside County! El Rey - Tacos y Mariscos is hands down the best Mexican takeout spot I've been to in Riverside County! Every time I order from here, I'm blown away by the quality and flavor of their food. Their meats are top-tier--the asada is perfectly seasoned, the pastor is rich and flavorful, and the shrimp dishes are incredibly fresh. While everything on the menu is solid, my absolute favorites are the shrimp cocktail and the tostadas. The shrimp cocktail is loaded with plump, fresh shrimp in a perfectly balanced, refreshing mix, and the tostadas have that perfect crunch with the freshest toppings. You can really tell they prioritize quality and freshness in everything they serve. If you're looking for amazing, authentic Mexican food that never disappoints, El Rey is the spot. Consistently delicious, clean, and full of bold flavors--this place is an absolute gem! Great service too!

Yelp
We are new to the area so we wanted to try some Pozole and Menudo. We ordered ToGo, and it was amazing. Look forward to go back and trying more items on the Menu.
