The 8 Best Peruvian Restaurants In SF

"We’d happily spend hours at El Rincon De Jorgito, polishing off margarita glassfuls of citrusy ceviche mixto and snacking on salty canchita. The walk-right-in Potrero Hill space is big enough to host an elementary school pacer test, meaning there’s plenty of room to spread out with a group and unpack your weekly astrological reading. Order the mountain of fried rice topped off with a paper Peruvian flag, or the lomo saltado with crisp strips of red onion." - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1, patrick wong

Where To Eat & Drink In Potrero Hill

"El Rincón De Jorgito is Potrero Hill’s casual weeknight dinner mascot. The low-key Peruvian restaurant is easy to walk into and about the size of a middle school dance floor—basically, there's plenty of place to spread out with an entourage and swarm around mounds of chaufa, lomo saltado, and potatoes smothered in huancaína. No visit is complete without a margarita glassful (or two) of their citrusy ceviche mixto, complete with a fried shrimp curled around the rim—it’s the closest you’ll get to beachside escapism from the east side of the city. " - team infatuation

In a word, AMAZING! I’ve been coming here since they opened and have had such a welcoming experience. The owner Jorge is very friendly, and the employees here work very hard and are always attentive. On Sundays they have live music during brunch hours and a DJ Fridays and Saturdays. If you are looking for authentic Peruvian food, this is the restaurant. The food is always incredibly delicious! The lomo saltado is so tasty and juicy OMG 1000/10. The ceviche and maki is always super fresh and the drinks are always refreshing and flavorful. My favorite Peruvian restaurant in the city, Doesn’t disappoint as always. Once you experience their food, you will be a regular 1000/10

Although this place is pretty pricey, I really liked it. I had the mixed seafood ceviche and it was tasty. Good friendly service. The rice custard was really good too! (Unfortunately, the chocolate cake was a miss. Not very chocolatey at all.) Lots of Peruvian decorations made the atmosphere welcoming. This may seem trivial to say but one pet peeve I have had with past Peruvian restaurants is that their corn nuts were unappealing- very hard and not tasty. That wasn't the case here, they tasted very fresh and were roasted just right. All in all I would come again.

We went to Peru last Feb of this year and one thing I enjoyed so much is their food . Everything that I tried was spectacular and so delicious . And that was the time I start to be Inlove with Peruvian dishes . So when I came back to US , I missed a lot their dishes . One day my husband saw Peruvian restaurant from Instagram named “Rincon de Jorgito “ so we went and tried. Sooo great that we didn’t disappoint. Everything that we ordered taste authentic!!! Felt that they bring Peru here . My favorite is the lomo saltado ,I loved the ceviche too but I will just order the fish next time . The anticucho , sooooo gooood as well !!! Even nicer because the chef and all the staff was very friendly and attentive .. if you are looking for real Peruvian dishes , Rincon de Jorgito will never disappoint you . Parking was easy too . Definitely will come back soon !!! Edited 6/2024 Went back last Father’s Day . As we expected they never failed us to exceed our expectation . This time I just ordered the chicken marinated with Peruvian spicies and my husband ordered the breaded chicken . Both were delicious , and the good thing with their breaded chicken was not oily at all . Definitely will come back again to try another menu .

I recently dined here at El Rincon De Jorgito and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The Peruvian cuisine offered was truly exceptional, capturing the rich flavors and authenticity of the region. What made the evening even more delightful was the outstanding service provided by the friendly waitresses and waiter. Their warmth and attentiveness added a special touch to the overall dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to indulge in delicious Peruvian dishes while enjoying a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service.

Google
The arroz con mariscos was excellent. The portions of seafood were generous and delicious. The owner served us himself and he was friendly, attentive and very informative about Peruvian cuisine. I will stop in again.

Google
I'm glad I came across this restaurant. The service was excellent, and the ceviche was delicious. I enjoyed the combination plate. It gave me a chance to try different dishes. The seafood and rice was also good. Great presentation. I'm definitely going back for seconds.

Google
We had a fantastic experience at this sweet restaurant last night. We were lucky to sit by the kitchen and could the dishes emerge one-by-one, looking so delicious. The menu is quite extensive and it was hard to make a choice from so many options. We chose the halibut ceviche- outstanding! A perfect balance of flavors. The chicken Saltado didn’t disappoint, with juicy morsels of chicken, perfectly cooked rice and delicately fried cassava. The Inca purple corn beverage (chicha morada) was also delicious! Looking to return to try more things on the menu.

Google
Food here is so fresh and authentic. The ceviche is fantastic and the fried yuca is delightful. We also tried chicha morada and alfajores, both are not overwhelmingly sweet and are vey pleasant. Service is great and we will definitely come back.

Yelp
My boyfriend found this place after an IG posted a picture of the Crab Ceviche. We decided to check them out and they are new-new and busy! They have the Grand Opening tomorrow, but were open today. We ordered the Special Crab Ceviche- which as special and not on the menu and the chaufa de pollo. The plates were beautiful and delicious, the salsas were spicy and flavorful. The leche de tigre was so flavorful and delicious with the crab legs and shrimp. This place is mouthwatering good! The waitress was so nice and really took care of our table, as the place started to get crowded and uber eats orders coming in and out all the time. This place is going to do so well!

Yelp
Heard about this new place on IG and knew I had to give it a try. Peruvian food is one of my top 3 so I was so excited. The restaurant is located on the industrial side of Cesar Chavez, right off 280. There aren't any other restaurants or bars nearby. Plenty of parking during dinner on a weeknight. The ambiance is causal and spacious. All the staff were attentive and very nice. Even the chef came out to ask us how our dinner was and thanked us for stopping by. All the flavors are there and each dish was really pretty. My favorite had to be the tallarines verdes. We ordered them as a side dish which isn't an option on the menu, but the chef accommodated us. Only thing I wish was that they had more wine options. But I'm sure that'll improve with time. Here's what we ordered: Lomo Saltado with Filet Mignon-10/10 Bistec a Lo Pobre-8/10 (wish my egg was a little more runny but still soooo good, could have done without the fries) Tallarines Verdes-10/10 Pisco Sour-9/10 It wasn't very busy which is expected being that it's fairly new. I really hope more people hear about this place because the food is solid! Excited to try more from their menu.

Yelp
The best peruvian trio that I have ever taste, causa, ceviche y arroz con mariscos for just $45. I absolutely recommend it. Cosa mas grande de la vida chico.

Yelp
The food was hands down the best Peruvian food I've had in San Francisco. The service was also excellent and the drinks were delicious. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
was excited to have found this neighborhood peruvian restaurant..but, sadly the food fell short. parking was no issue as there is a lot of street parking along the side streets. ordered papa a la huancaina, seafood tacu tacu, lomo saltado, and pollo saltado. first appetizer came, but we had no silverware. somewhat hard to get the waiter as he was the only one and had several tables. the huancaina sauce tasted very different comparing it to other restaurants that serve the same plate. the seafood tacu tacu was chewy as well as some of the cuts of the lomo saltado. the pollo saltado was ok, but they separated the onions, meat and fries instead of mixing it all together. Service was friendly, however, no one came to ask until the very end to see how we were doing. another thing that seemed odd was the pricing. it's pretty pricey for the quality of food that you get. when it came to pay...not sure if it differs when paying with a card...but the prices on the menu were different than what was on the receipt. didn't notice it till later, but on the receipt, some dishes ended with .36 cents or .56 cents, etc. just thought it was strange. if there is an added fee when you use card, it should be disclosed on the menu.

Yelp
"Best Peruvian food in San Francisco and the Bay Area" Great variety of dishes from different regions of Peru including delicious fish and seafood specialties, and traditional Peruvian juices/drinks. The service is also 5 stars from the servers to the Chefs they're all so kind! We drive a long way since we don't live in SanFrancisco, but it's so worth it! My family and I would definitely recommend El Rincón de Jorgito!

Edward S.

Yelp
I ordered the lomo Saltado I had to return it because the meat was very tough I reordered the same plate with the better meat for an extra $7.00 I was charged for both plates I think that was wrong otherwise the food was good we orders ceviche and the papa a la huancaina.

Yelp
This is absolutely the best Peruvian food we've tried in the Bay Area. Super friendly, family-run place. Every single thing we have tried has been amazing. Location is a bit off the beaten path and sure, it's not the cheapest, but it is ABSOLUTELY worth a visit. You'll be a return customer for sure
