Stopped by this spot for a post-work drink and it was a pleasant surprise. This spot has a bright and breezy, open atmosphere, perfect for a casual hangout. I enjoyed a Spicy Margarita and a Madelo beer, but be warned: it's cash only. Prices were reasonable for the neighborhood. Overall, a decent spot to unwind. IG 📸 @adventureofourlifetime

I have eaten at all the famous taco places in NYC, Tacombi, Los Tacos etc etc but this place my god this place hits the spot. There is nothing better than this spot. It is worth the hike out to Brooklyn because these tacos are life changing. I haven’t even finished the last taco before writing this raving review. The service is quick and we felt well taken care of. It’s cash only but there is an ATM on site with a $1.50 fee which isn’t bad at all. Incredible food and great atmosphere. Would come back again and again.

The main meal (Puntas al chipotle) and drink was really yummy but the rice and beans tasted watered down and bland. Not sure how a mexican place can mess up something as simple as rice and beans but otherwise this place is alright.

Nice corner restaurant. The food is very flavorful and the portions are not shy plus loaded with meat. They definitely do not skimp on the meat here. The nachos are not your conventional nachos. At first I was confused but after tasting them I was wow. I definitely recommend El Santo. Only one down fall and it’s not with service and or food. The one down fall is they only take cash. It is very worth it. The price is good, service is great.

Service was quick and nice! Food came out pretty fast fast. Was not very busy on a sunday. Had really cute decorations up though. For the pre game we had micheladas and that was SO good. I was craving an authentic one and they delivered. Will be back to try another michelada.

Cute spot but over priced. I've come here several times over the years - their happy hour/daily specials are a good price but that's about it. Stopped by recently and ordered the Puntas Al Chipotle which is sliced steak with onions and peppers in a chipotle sauce. The dish is swimming in sauce with barely any meat. For $20, I expected way more steak. It does come with rice and beans though. Friend ordered chicken quesadilla which was good but $15 for a quesadilla just seems like a lot - it's literally cheese, chicken and tortillas. Margs were $12 each which isn't bad. When we got our bill, our two meals, 3 drinks and chips/salsa came out to over $100 which seemed like a lot. For the two of us, although the service was fine, they added an automatic 20% gratuity which seemed odd. Usually when gratuity is automatically added, you have to advertise that somewhere on the menu, which they did not. Cash only they don't take cards. I think I'll stick to their happy hour - the value just isn't there for the money spent.

Stopped by here from recommendation from a friend. Two tacos with lots of meat and guacamole $9. You pay for each individual tacos. Also got the vegan burrito bowl. Couldn't finish it. Have another meal out of it for $14. Nice place for a meal and they gave 2 big screen tvs showing sports which was nice.

This was a super cute place to grab a couple tacos with friends. They have plenty of outdoor, indoor, and bar seating. Their tacos were absolutely huge! I normally eat three tacos and am still hungry, but two of El Santo's left me stuffed. I got a cochinita pibil taco and an al pastor taco. Be warned--the cochinita pibil is quite spicy! The habanero peppers really give it a kick. The meat on both tacos was deliciously seasoned and wonderfully tender. The guacamole on top was also so creamy and yummy. I saw that they have a really great taco Tuesday deal, so I'll have to be back soon!

This place does not take credits cards despite what it says on this page. Waited 30 minutes at 1:30am for my takeout order only for the waitress to tell me they only accept cash

El Santo is a must visit dinner spot in Bushwick! Their meals are super affordable and I have never had to wait to eat. They have a great taco Tuesday deal, two tacos and a marg for $14! I first visited when touring my first Brooklyn apartment last year. I now visit regularly because they have a great vibe and I have had nothing but amazing experiences with the wait staff. I like to post my meals on instagram, and whenever I tag the restaurant their owner always comes up and chats with us. It's super sweet and makes it a far more personal experience! On to the food and drink, their chimichangas are to! die! for! Please start by ordering that. It will fill you to the brim. Any of the meat options will be great with it! I'd also recommend any of their tacos, the tortillas are sturdy and they're always full of meat. 2 tacos are probably sufficient though you could go for 3. I love their margaritas, seriously I am tipsy off of one. By the time I finish the second, I'm nearly done for the night lol. There is a great waitress who has asked me if I like my marg sweet vs savory vs spicy and has made me the best margarita of my life. I cannot recommend El Santo enough.

Shit service! I came with my niece, who got food beforehand, and they didn't even let her eat her food! They were gonna make her eat in front of me! Unconsiderate and rude! I do NOT recommend!

Love coming here after thrifting nearby!! Food is great and their portions are pretty big. The Al pastor taco was really well seasoned and juicy. Almost every dish comes with guacamole which is great! Don't skip out on the nachos, those are really good at too. I wish they gave us metal utensils instead of plastic forks but it's okay. Vibes are great and music is playing. Very fun vibes if you come at night. Very cute spot with great decor. They also have $25 bottomless mimosas for brunch

Had a late night Sunday meal at El Santo Taqueria. After missing kitchen hours at a few other spots, wound up here and was not thrilled with what was served. Quality: A last resort when looking for late night food and the meal was barely passable. The Guacamole & Chips came with barely any chips and the ones they provided were stale. The Guacamole was okay, but very mild. The Steak Chimichanga was disappointing as well. The fried burrito had a soggy wrapper, cheese that was still cold, and overdone steak. This may have been a product of our late visit, but if you are going to serve food late, you need to do better. Quantity: Not enough chips in the bowl, but the other food items were huge portions. Value: $15 for Guacamole & Chips. $17 for a Steak Chimichanga. Ambiance: El Santo Taqueria is a Mexican spot located in Bushwick. They have a massive outdoor area, with rows of tables and a huge street shelter, as well as pretty large indoor space. The bar sits towards the back of the indoor space, with several televisions hanging on the walls. Doors and windows open up, so it feels like an indoor-outdoor space. The music was traditional Mexican songs. Crowd: A small crowd as one of the places nearby open late. Service: Bare-boned late night staff. Parking: Lots of nearby street parking.

Amazing service, delicious food and tasty drinks ! What more do you need. Two things to note about this restaurant: 1.) this place is CASH only. not a huge deal with an ATM across the street, but important to note. 2.) the tacos are HUGE. You really only need 2 or 3 or 4. And they are DELICIOUS.

Nice little spot I found accidentally as I waited for me reservation at another spot nearby. Had a Mezcal drink which was ehhh but the place was cool. I'm gonna give it another shot though. Cash Only spot which I hate but it is what it is.

Tasty, but a little bland for my taste buds. Nonetheless, the accompanying sauces added the spice I was seeking on this cold and snowy day. The churros are EVERYTHING and highly recommended. In the past, I have tried the fish tacos, and they were divine. I look forward to trying other menu items in the future.

Off the charts Carnitas Taco Bowl. Sans meat but awesome service and atmosphere. Portions are a tad small, but for 14$ it's worth it. Thanks!

Went after a thrift nearby! My meal was sooooo good and I just felt like I was on a little island the whole time I was eating because of the great ambiance and lively music , 10/10 would eat there again !

Best Drag Brunch I've ever been to! Had a wonderful time, the queens were super funny and incredible performers, they rolled out free shots for all tables. The food and drink are delicious. Palomas are my favorite. Great music and all the waiters are kind and vibe along with the drag show. Such a fun environment, fully recommend! Their Drag Brunch is every 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, shows starting at 3pm with Giardia and Taina, they also accommodate large parties like our table of 20. Don't miss out!

Ky favorite place to get nachos. My wife also loves the vegan nachos. Other places with vegan options never really stack up.

The food is very tasty. I ordered via grubhub and my order was on time. The nachos are definitely great but it was wayyyy to cheesy. I love love cheese but each nacho is literally covered in cheese and meat. It's over the top but nonetheless still good. My Elote was not good though, it was super skinny, hardly any mayonnaise or Cotija cheese on it. The container was squished up as well. It definitely was not what I was expecting for an elote. I'd order here again but very carefully and probably only in person.

Never again, everything tasted not fresh, elotes were bad, pozole was worse. Service was good

Wow where to start??? This place has some amazing tacos. I'm in love with the Fish taco and their cochinito pibil tacos. They're all good don't get me wrong but it's something about the 2 of these that just has me always coming back . This spot is also good for brunch, they have a bottomless menu that you wouldn't want to miss out on its totally worth it. Don't believe me? Go check them out for yourself I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Been around the neighborhood for years, I've had drinks her before with one of my friends and it was decent. Decided to give the food a try especially on taco Tuesday! Wide selection of food, contemplated with getting the mini nachos/ nachos and the bartender suggested we do the Taco Tuesday deal (2 tacos & a margarita for $12) my boyfriend and I were sold! I did the pineapple margarita and he did the blood orange - drinks were a little on the sweeter side ( a little more tequila would've gave this place 5 stars) however! The tacos were DELICIOUS! Nice and full, not skimpy with the meats at all! Steak taco was my favorite and seasoned well as well as the chicken! Shrimp taco was also packed with a lot of shrimp and that was enjoyable - will be returning!

It's so yummy that I had to come back . The owner is a great guy so friendly. Our server Steven is a cool guy. Tonight I tried something new the shredded pork quesidilla it was full of meet and well seasoned it was served with a fresh side salad. Wednesday are frozen margaritas day. All frozen drinks were $8. Nice deal.

Went here this past Sunday and me oh my these tacos were delish and plentiful My friend and I starred off with drinks (2 ea) as there were 3 of us. I started with a jalapeño margarita with a shot of Mezcal. I didn't care for it and I am not one to waste a drink so i finished it and ordered another margarita which I had grapefruit and ginger I believe and that hit the spot. Now onto the tacos. I ordered 3: Chicken Tinga, Chorizo and Shrimp aka GAMBA!! I loved that they added guacamole to each taco. Man oh man that is what blew my mind as I am a lover of guacamole and it did not disappoint. The Chicken Tinga was so flavorful and spicy as the menu promised. We each ordered different tacos but there wasn't much talking as we were in FLAVOR HEAVEN. The only reason why I did not give them 5 stars is because we started off with a waitress and she then disappeared. We waited a good 15 minutes before we were acknowledged but when we were acknowledged we got our food and drinks on time. Also I didn't care for their take on chips and guacamole. Chips were a little stale and the guacamole had big chunks of WHITE onion. I will not be ordering that next time. There will definitely be a next time as my friends and I are looking to make this Bushwick gem part of our summer 2021 rotation. Also bring cash as this a CASH ONLY spot. But don't worry there is a "free" ATM that won't charge you but your bank might. These tacos and drinks are worth it.

One of my favorite place and best in neiborhood. Stuff is very friendly and all of them are super nice . Food is amazing . Especially tacos ( Tonga and shrimp ) is great . Margarita is now ! (I recommend cucumber . ) And I recommend nachos ( little bit different from other nachos ) . Shrimp one is amazing !

El Santo was a great local spot I've frequented for years, ever since they opened. However, I can't recommend this spot anymore. The service is lacking and the portions are reduced drinks and food wise. They serve draft beers in mason jars that are often only filled about 3/4 of the jar, and their food is mediocre at best. I ordered mini nachos and was given a grand total of 8 chips. I get it, it's a smaller version of the regular nachos they serve, but since their regular version is pretty sizable, I thought it would at least be half the size, it wasn't enough for $11 in my opinion. Their menu lists options for toppings like extra cheese or meat, my server didn't ask for any at all and to top it off they didn't give me the correct change, they took a little change in cents but when you make small mistakes like that it really makes you feel undervalued as a customer. Their tacos are still good, but everything else has gone downhill. Servers and bartenders turn over a lot, none stay for long.

3 stars because I've never actually tried their food but was handled in an unprofessional way. So I wanted to try out this place for take-out because there was a promo on Seamless for 25% off (more food for me). It didn't apply, and I kindly called the restaurant asking about the promo not being applied. The hostess might've not realized I could hear when she put me on 'hold' because she grabbed her manager to ask about helping me with this situation and he sounded very frustrated. When he gets on the phone, all of a sudden, the service is cutting out on his end. He couldn't hear anything I was saying, which at that point I was was just saying "hello?". Him - "Yeah, I'm sorry I just can't hear you". Click. I've never tried their food, and I'm sure it's great, but there's just something that gives me the ick about rude customer service. It's a part of your job in the hospitality food industry to know how to handle uncomfortable situations. I might've ordered full price if he wasn't such a jerk about it. I am hungry and want tacos.

I went here after a tattoo to try to recharge and I was not disappointed! The music playing definitely got me in the mood to eat and the wait staff was welcoming and polite. The food was absolutely delicious for my eyes and my taste buds and I got so much more than I expected as well. I would definitely come back

Food wasn't really that good, it was extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity (taco Tuesday special was $19 for two tacos and a marg...). Also they included the gratuity on a check for two people ??? Not sure if this was intentional or they do it to everyone but we weren't enthused.

Excellent Mexican food is hard to come by in NYC; especially if you're used to the Mexican fare in LA. That being said, El Santo has been a highlight of my Brooklyn search. Their asada bowl is top tier - flavorful asada, stretchy oaxaca cheese, pinto beans, and rice. Personally I think it tastes best with a dash of spicy salsa to up the ante.

Okay, maybe I'm a lightweight, but a few sips of their margaritas had a girl turnt. Potent and delicious margaritas I highly recommend. I tried both the watermelon and mango flavors, and it had the perfect balance of sweetness and strong tequila flavor. Now for their food. Wow. I'm very picky about my chilaquiles. My favorite since a kid has been from Elora's on prospect park west in Brooklyn, but El Santo has wholly taken over that place. The green sauce on those chilaquiles is to die for. They made the fried eggs a perfect over easy which is always a nice touch. THE STEAK. Which was a add on, wow. They cooked it so perfectly. Not one chewy piece and so tender. The staff was also accommodating and friendly. I will def be back to El Santo.

Customers should know that ATM charges 3$ fee. We were told that is cash only place and that we can get the cash from ATM free of charge. That is incorrect and each transaction has 3$ fee. Very shady!

Great party vibe in the back room. Cash only is a pain but that's Brooklyn for you. Ordering food is fast and effective but drinks at the bar is always tough. I would come back again for a party for sure.

Came here on a nice summer day. The space itself is great. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Really good vibes and great music selection. A+ in the ambiance department. Now the food was just okay. When ordering, I asked to take off the cheese and for whatever reason they couldn't figure out how to do that on the iPad they place the order on? No big deal, but just kind of weird. The portions were big, but the food was just okay. Nothing stood out. Honestly felt like I could have made it at home. Also, the place is cash only. Oh, and service was so slow. Barely anyone in there when I went, but you would have thought the place was slammed with how infrequently the wait staff checked on us. If I go back, I would probably only go for drinks and dancing.

Went in Cinco de Mayo to be greeted by a group of gringos full on humping at the bar. The female picture had her entire ass on display along with her dinosaur underwear. I couldn't believe the restaurant had served them that much alcohol to the point that she was naked at the bar with children in the restaurant.

Love this spot! Great margs with happy hour til 8. The queso fundido is a good starter and my go-to is the chicken tinga quesadilla. This is honestly my new favorite Mexican spot in the area, everything is fresh and the service is always good. Apparently the owners also own los tacos on Grand Street which I've also frequented many times. In my opinion, El Santo is even better.

I ordered the al pastor burrito and it was good. All the ingredients were balanced and it didn't feel overwhelming. Sauces on the side were good as well. I recommend this option if you like a sweet and savory combination.

Go-to spot for my gluten-free gf and I. Got something for everyone--vegans, vegetarians, gf, and meateaters. Safe distances in their outside dining space as well! Super friendly servers, adorable toddler friend shows up occasionally. Food is always great, and the drinks are a pretty good price. I recommend the vegan enchiladas and jalapeño margarita. My gf always gets their tacos :-)

love the guacamole in the taco. And the tortilla is phenomenal. Great salsas too, the chips yum and salsa they provide has a slightly smoky taste but still divine. Margaritas are strong but delicious with a well salted ring-very important. 5 star service and the free shots definitely will keep me coming back for more. Cute patio too! No mirrors in the bathroom, weird but cool
