The food at El Ta’Koy was pretty good overall. The waitress was kind but didn’t seem like there was much staff. Got a mocktail that was also tart and fresh. Definitely on the pricier side. 🌮 Kahlua Pork Tacos: The pork was soft and the taco overall had a lot of juice. Despite them looking small, it took quite a few bites to finish each taco which was pleasantly surprising. Just eat the tacos over the plate because they’ll each drip a lot of juice. 🍔 Crispy Chicken Sandwich: The sandwich was pretty good and came with a side of chips that were crispy. There are cute lil bottles of ketchup and mayo that come with this dish. 🍗 Popcorn Chicken: The breading of the popcorn chicken was quite crispy and the chicken was tender. The sauce added a bit of much needed flavor that I really liked.

Loved our brunch here last Sunday, very nice rooftop views and a cool menu. The brunch menu is a super unique Asian-Hawaiian fusion offering up a slow roasted Hawaiian pork station, Hawaiian chicken and waffles topped with pineapple chutney, SPAM fried rice, mini maple pancakes and all the brunch cocktails! It’s such a vibe — dining poolside with these views! There is also live music from 11:30am-3:30pm.

Google
I discovered this place while scrolling through Yelp one night. The restaurant exceeds what words can express. Perfect marks. All the main dishes were incredible, visually stunning and carefully paired. All aspects were excellent & I want to visit again!

Google
The restaurant has powerful word-of-mouth. Their food quality surpasses pricier competitors. The place needs to keep its food standards high. The workers seem chosen partly for appearance. This place has earned multiple visits despite crowds.

Google
This spot warrants highest marks. The food leaves lasting positive effects. Their dishes are packed with flavor and the menu has many choices. The team at El Ta'Koy welcomed our family without judgment. We're eager to return soon.

Wow wow and wow! The kitchen team here has serious talent. Their meals balance taste, freshness, and visual composition. The manager handles duties professionally while staying kind. The design elements are tasteful and moderate. This charming place was found via my online exploration.

This restaurant delivers total contentment. They don't shortchange on portions or overcharge. The people working here both welcome and assist. This spot has remarkable characteristics. The overall experience earned my highest recommendation.

Yelp
I had a bit of a mixed experience here. Concierge helped me make a reservation because we were coming for a work lunch and you can only make reservations for 4 people or less, and no one picks up the phone. I didn't realize it was a very casual eatery, almost like a cafe. This means no host to greet you, and the staff working behind the bar were clueless to our reservation. Someone was sitting alone at the only large table and after the staff failed to assist me as I tried to explain the situation, the customer kindly offered to move to a smaller table so we could be seated. Service is definitely on the slow side, and one of the 6 entrees (ramen) didn't come out until the rest of the group was halfway through eating. We also had to flag someone down for some extra condiments and eventually the check. I got the poke bowl - it's definitely adapted to the mainland vs what you get in Hawaii, but it was tasty. Some of the tuna was a bit stringy so I didn't eat it in case. The chicken katsu looked extra crunchy (in a good way). I'm not rushing to go back, but if you're staying here, it's convenient enough.

Yelp
What can you say about a sipping cold brut over by the pool ? The lantern. Flies were a problem, they were everywhere. It's a NY problem I suppose. That aside , It's so relaxing. Service is super friendly make feel special. I trued the spam fried rice it was so good. Interesting Hawaiian theme food.

Yelp
Great foods!! YES No kidding! Had pork tacos and desert fruits(2 days) while staying at the hotel with family. I was told that the chef is from Hawaii. Judging from these two dishes and drinks(iced tea and lemonade), these are top quality foods! The staffs are very friendly and fast. The tables indoor and outdoor near the pool are all nice. The restaurant is only for the hotel guests.

Yelp
The atmosphere was beautiful. Brandon was an amazing server, JoJo made me a great cocktail the "Mezcalina", Tenzin and Pasang were great host and made sure I was well taken care of while I enjoyed the sun. Can't forget about Nike...he is fire on that grill/kitchen. The lifeguard was a cutie (Sorry, I did not get her name) she tested the water often which I thought was very nice all while making sure we stayed safe. Five Team! Yes, I'm very observant and personable. Great Job!

Yelp
The Dominick Hotel has once again changed their poolside restaurant. While the decor is cute and quaint and the staff is friendly, jovial, and even gave us free shots, the food was disappointing. Strictly foodwise: Hawaiian inspired, but can't get the poke right. bland, soggy, mushy. Do not order this. Chicken tacos were hit or miss. Someone said it was bland, another person said it was good enough to order a 2nd plate. I had been here the day before by the pool which is also serviced by El Ta'Koy. Got a frosé which was ok... They have popsicles on the dessert menu which would have been fun to put in my frosé, but I just couldn't eat anymore. Nachos were meh. Hummus is standard. Ambiance wise: Really cute restaurant attached to the pool on the 7th floor of the Dominick Hotel (formerly Trump Soho) The have outdoor rooftop dining as well and the pool is serviced by this restaurant as well. Get here after 4pm when crowds die down and you can grab a poolside lounge. Oh, but the pool is reserved for regustered hotel guests only. If you are just coming here for the restaurant, you have the option of sitting inside or outside at high tops seating. It was quite cold when we went so we sat inside. It was very empty at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. In conclusion, I am adding stars for staff personality and another star for ambiance. Our waiter gave us complimentary kamikaze shots and that was super nice. However, the food was subpar with room for improvement AND there was an issue with being overcharged for nachos which was removed from the bill after we added up our itemized bill. But if we didn't, we would have paid an extra $50 for the nachos for literally no reason other than that is how it is calculated by their computer system. Yikes! Anyway, the problem was spotted and fixed. It did just open up so I want to give them a little slack but the food was just not good enough to come back for. Despite that, the Dominick still remains a favorite hotel rooftop pool and I will continue to order from whatever restaurant will occupy that space in the future. At least for drinks. I'll try the Vestry downstairs next. TBH I missed when they served sushi and gave free mini ice cream cones.

Yelp
Fantastic hospitality. Always very helpful. Food is great and the pool is wonderful. Thank you Tenzin and Pasang.

Yelp
Great spot and the food is amazing! Very good for large parties or chill at the pool.

Yelp
Was staying at the Dominick and needed a quick lunch in between my busy schedule -- the other restaurant Vestry was closed so I popped over here with less than stellar expectations due to only having one previous Yelp review. Unfortunately I have to add a less than stellar review to their list. My first problem almost immediately was the lack of customer service, despite seeing multiple employees congregating around the bar completely socializing and not attending to myself or the only other person at the restaurant. I tried flagging them down for a solid 20 minutes, and wasn't able to get their attention until I got up to place my order. While I'm generally a relaxed customer who is all about socializing, I was hungry and not getting the attention I needed to fulfill my food orders. Finally after I was able to place my order, it took roughly 35/40 minutes to complete and get out to me -- again something that would be understandable if it were busy but there were only 3 people in there; myself included and the pair had not even ordered food. With Covid happening, it's something else I can factor in because it's a crazy world right now, especially for everyone showing up, which, PROPS to them. However by the time my food came out, it was cold, soggy, and extremely unappealing. It was like my sandwich had been sitting for at least 20 minutes before being given to me. This place is completely overpriced, but the few and interactions I had with the employees were decent. They were nice, but I also want to bring up the fact that they should mix work socialization with paying attention to customers waiting. The chicken sandwich was like a confused, Mexican pulled chicken "thing" with spoiled pineapple chutney on top of it. It was just completely unappetizing.
