El Tejano

El Tejano is a fun spot with great vibes! We had a great time, drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is very good. Parking, however, can be a real challenge, especially on busy nights. Also, I really wish they never removed the billiard table, it was a great touch that added to the atmosphere. Still, it’s a solid place to hang out with friends, enjoy good food, and sip on drinks without breaking the bank.

First time at thisnplace. Great atmosphere! Great music! I wouldn't come for the food but I would definitely order it again.

this is bar is so boring, bland, dated, and straight. such a waste of a great space and location in my opinion. they screen you harder than the TSA at LAX before you can get in - invasive bag inspections, full body pat downs, and questions about the information on your ID regardless of your age. then you’re watched over the entire time by armed guards… absolutely freaky the bartender was nice, though he didn’t seem confident in the menu. i wish i didn’t have to give one star for this review because the one drink i had was pretty good (despite its price), but this is definitely a SKIP.

Came here for taco Tuesday. The taco Tuesday 3 for 5$ deal that they offer is very misleading to what they show on their social media. We ordered tacos and we were served mini tostadas with a flat hard shell. Don’t say that it’s a taco when it’s clearly not. If I wanted a tostada I would’ve ordered tostados but I wanted tacos. We asked the bartender about this and he said it was 5$ for a regular taco. And the meat was mushy too which is not my favorite. However, the big cowboy drink we ordered was delicious and they have boombox bingo on Tuesdays which was very fun. Also the female security guard talked very low when we entered. I couldn’t really hear her with all the loud music going on.

A time was HAD last night! Watched my first baseball game in my life, and apparently, it's the World's Series? I dunno... lol. I'm not into sports whatsoever. I only meant to get lunch, lol... but the vibe was great, so I stayed a little while longer, and there was an event for Tito's tequila going on, and they gave me a HUGE pink frozen drink that tore my ass up🤣🤸🏾🍹... so I stayed a wee bit longer and before I knew it.... I was SURROUNDED by baseball fans! The World's Series is like the baseball championships I gathered. They all thought I was crazy for never having watched baseball, lol... but they were happy to explain what was happening (I still don't get it🤣), but they were cheering, and it was all a blast! I had a fried fish taco & their lemon pepper wings with garlic buffalo sauce & ranch as a dip.... lemme lol... lemme tell you sum. THESE WINGS ARE EVERYTHING... OMFG, THEY'RE AMAZING! The drinks kept coming, and LA won the game! Great times! Super fun place to watch a game if you like sports, and even if you're not a sports person, you'll enjoy the vibes! Generous patio & and indoor seating as well. Be sure to watch your parking meter signs, though... they turn into valet only after a certain hour. This place was a TOTAL win... 100% get the wings!

I don’t usually write reviews, but what happened at El Tejano was beyond unacceptable. My friend paid for a drink and never received it. Instead of making things right, staff called security on us and we were kicked out—after they took his money. If they saw my friend wasn’t doing well, why take his money in the first place? To make matters worse, they physically pushed my lady friend out of the venue for absolutely no reason. It was aggressive and completely uncalled for. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and had zero regard for basic customer respect or safety. We came to have a good time and left feeling disrespected and ripped off. Never going back. Avoid this place if you expect even the slightest bit of decency. If I could rate them zero stars I would. But, it isn’t an option . Avoid this place.

Came in and immediately this weird guy kept harassing the girls in my group. After repeatedly telling him to leave he then tried to mess around with a drink we’d ordered. We let management know and they responded by kicking out two girls from our group that he was bothering. The vibes were good up until then but definitely won’t be back since they’re clearly cool with that kind of stuff

FYI Security is everywhere….when we first arrived we couldn’t help but wonder if this place was safe since there was a large security presence BUT don’t let that detour you. Saturday nights get turnt up! I went with my girls for a long overdue night out. We shared the hat margarita, it was the bomb! While we were dancing some creep forced his way into our group and was getting handsy with my friend. She told him to stop but he would leave then come back. He tried to sit with us and drink our margarita. We told security what was happening and they told the guy to leave us alone or he would have to leave. He left for a little bit but came back and forced his way into our dance group. We did not even have to tell security a second time! They were watching him and watching out for us. This creep was told to leave but fought with security the whole way out. We went outside to see what would happen to the guy and we saw him yelling and screaming…He even spit on security. I see where some of y’all put that security sucks but my friends and I are glad they were there to keep us safe.

El Tejano can be a very different experience depending on what time you go there. During the day it's super chill and they have a great outdoor patio with games and TVs and good drink deals. At night it becomes a trashy night club with overpriced drinks. They always have 3 security guards outside at night bc things get wild. The best part about El Tejano is that they have a chips and salsa station where you can get as many refills as possible for free!! It's an amazing deal, even if you're just there for drinks. This is a great place to go to watch games but sometimes they blast the sound of games throughout the whole place even when no one is watching it so you can't even have a conversation. Overall, come for the drink deals and free chips, but don't stay too late!

Horrible place. The bar tender is ok, but the food is really bad. Really disappointed on the quality and the taste. I also found what i thought was a piece of plastic in their food. The place smells of apilled alcohol, and my friend was harrased by a couple of drunk individuals. We talked to the manager and he did nothing about it. People get violently attacked there when they close. Management does nothing about it. I regret going there and will never go back.

From the moment I arrived and was greeted by two bouncers lounging in chairs and enjoying their meals, I knew this wasn't going to be my kind of place. Talk about a warm welcome--if by "warm" you mean as inviting as a refrigerator! Once inside, my bartender seemed to be more interested in her phone than in serving drinks. After a delightful wait, she finally took my order for a Hendricks and tonic. At $14.00 for the drink, I guess I was paying for the ambiance of a distracted bartender! To add a twist, there was a mysterious $0.42 service charge that I'm still trying to decipher--especially since I was paying cash. Isn't it nice when they throw in surprise charges? After tax, which was $1.41, I paid with a $20 bill. She handed me back $4.00, despite the fact that my change should have been $4.17. Now, I'm not losing sleep over the $0.17, but it does make you wonder how many other coins might be going missing behind the bar. A bartender's little tricks can leave you questioning what else might be slipping through the cracks--like honesty! After finishing my drink, I decided it was time to make my exit and find a place where the service is as refreshing as the cocktails.

This is a cool place to go only once. It's not a place I would be excited to go back. There is indoor and outdoor dinning area. It's better to sit outside, if people want to have conversations. If you're there for drinking i recommend sitting inside . Drinks are ok nothing special. Frozen margarita did not tasted like the other frozen margaritas that I have tried. I would give one star. Nachos was good. I would give it five star. P.S There is security outside. They check the bags and pockets.

LADIES‼‼‼ please be careful with your unattended drinks. A friend of mine got roofied here and I have heard of so many report of women getting drugged here. Please please please be careful and be safe .

This review is for last Friday the 8th. We Made it here just in time for happy hour. Happy hour ends at 7 so we were able to get the night started with margarines and there happy hour tacos. They are really good the drinks were strong tacos were good kinda spicy but good The DJ is playing Jams all night and they really start to get busy around 10

El Tejano reminds me of the vibe of Papas & Beer so if you want a white linen fine dining experience go somewhere else. But if you are okay with a casual and fun atmosphere to watch some sports, definitely check this place out. The SALSA was SO good. Like actually fresh and home made with a lovely amount of heat. Surprisingly, one of the best parts of our meal was the sautéed kale that came with the chicken bowl. The guacamole and pico were a little sad, however. I am looking forward to my next visit to try the famous massive margs.

Cool little neighborhood bar near the NoHo arts district. I've been to this spot numerous times to catch games and it's always a vibe. Bartenders are always attentive and nice but what I like is the crowd is always pretty diverse. I haven't gotten the food much but the items I have had were solid, nothing amazing but not bad either. If you're looking to grab a drink in a chill atmosphere I definitely recommend.

Came here for a friend's 40th. Definitely a party vibe and filled with people. Despite the crowd I got my watermelon margarita pretty promptly. Margarita was tasty and I enjoyed the free chip and salsa station. The DJ was getting going when I headed home so I missed the party going up a notch, but if you want a party, this place won't disappoint.

The food was really good. The ground beef taco was the best I have had in a long time. I also had the prickly pear margarita which was excellent. I highly suggest this place and the music was on point!

Bartender rang my drink up but I saw 2 things on my receipt and he immediately made it so I only saw the total. Which was $17 and me having been there before knew it wasn't right. After it gives you the option to text your bill to you. Why did this he add a "Texas size" which is additional $3 and the girls next to me pointed at a cup bigger than mine and when I confronted him he wanted to try and grab my cup and say if you don't want it like what do you meaaaaan run my over charged drink back sir. Will not be going back.

Came here for my birthday and I had so much fun. They have a nice happy hour menu. Service is good and I love how lively it is inside. They have a cool outdoor seating area and it gets packed, especially in the summertime.

Great outdoor space with speedy service, powerhouse kitchen, and a wide assortment of frozen margaritas, each more tempting than the last. I got the cucumber small size, which ended up being $17 as I was told the cucumber has an extra shot, making it more alcoholic. It definitely was, and I demolished both of the made-in-house salsas. I came with a group and we got an order of nachos for the table, easily fed 10 of us, I was very impressed. A big fight was on and the crowd was enthusiastically watching, and as someone who's not into sports it was quite intoxicating, I got sucked up into the fun as well. Great place to spend some quality time with friends in, and they bring DJs in around 9-10 if you wanna stay and dance!

This place is so fun! I had my birthday party here once and everyone had a blast. The margaritas are amazing and the food is a lot better than I expected! They also have a bar where you can just grab your own chips and salsa. Super convenient and a very fun atmosphere. I had a great time playing life-size connect and the beef. Crunchy tacos are the bomb.

El Tejano is one of those places that changes like day and night, literally. During the day time the flow of customers is the usual of what you can expect from a restaurant. Come in with a small group. Grab a table, have some food while enjoying some drinks. But then when the sun goes down, El Tejano becomes a different beast. This place gets jam packed and becomes one of your stops if you're bar hopping in NoHo. My buddy, TAP and I used to come through all the time. Every time we've came it was during the even when things we're live. Although you could order food it is quite chaotic to find a table in the first place. I think if you are a night owl and enjoy the busy night scene, come for a visit during the evenings on the weekends. Then come back and give their food a try. They have some large platters of goodies. Parking: metered street parking VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

For deleting my last review, DONT COME HEREEEEE I'd rather go to the jungla or skinny's at this point atleast they won't take your ID & request for you to call the police and waste their time to give you your VALID ID back.. ( mind you we never got it back ) when we were just in here the week before this incident that happened with the Asian security up front the same person who let us in last time!!!smh.. These people don't get paid enough to be bugging out for no reason.

I see that my review got cut off - so just to complete it: - Instead of a regular size margarita, the bartender gives me one in a huge cup that's way more expensive than a regular size one - I asked "why is this so big?" and he says "that's just how ours are" - I wanted one drink. He basically gave me two. When I told him I didn't want that much, he shrugged his shoulders and moved on. If your bar basically serves doubles when you think you're ordering a single, you should tell your patrons that - and more importantly, you should make some offer to correct a situation when clearly the customer was not expecting it.

Customer service was great from Marino. Will definitely be back. Good vibes all around. Family and pet friendly.

I used to love this bar. I live a few blocks away so it's been my go to. However, the security outside and inside always find a way to make you feel horrible and ruin your night. Last night was my birthday and I invited all my friends to El Tejano. When we arrived, 6 people were already inside and we were like 10 more people in line. A fight broke out right by the line by a few people who had just gotten kicked and it kept getting more and more violent. Instead of helping us and letting us in, the security closed the door and hid inside. One of the men threw something at the door and then starting driving by the bar and getting out of the car and threatening everyone repeatedly. My boyfriend asked the security if they could at least let the girls in since the situation was so scary and they ignored him and closed the door on his face. We ended up literally running away. Thankfully the bar next door let us in quickly when we ran past it since they had seen the whole situation. I will never be going back. It sucks because I love their music and drinks but i'm tired of being mistreated every time I come here. If you don't care about the people that go to your bar then what do you even care about?! Horrible situation.

Went here yesterday night for a couple drinks but regret going here. The bartender on the outside area looked miserable working there. He was so rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. I will never come back here again. Bad vibes.

Our first time here I went to order something for my friend and I, and something to go. Either I didn't say it or he didn't hear me, but we got the wrong order. By the time we addressed the manager (Patrick) with our issue, he took care of it right away. This guy has been bartending serving food, cleaning tables. He's all over the place. I would hire this guy in a heartbeat. I felt very welcomed here. I will definitely come back and bring my friends and Fam. Great looking place. Great drinks, delicious IPAs bomb chicken quesadillas and nachos. The Reds salsa is delicious too very fresh. By the way, I got the chicken tostada for my roommate to go and it looks massive size. They hooked it up with salsa and chips. Looks fantastic. Thank you

Super disappointed to go in here. The drinks are listed at one price like $8, but when I checked my receipt later on they charge an extra $3 per drink I DID NOT APPROVE. I guess the cashier decided to upgrade us to the largest drink possible without asking us if we wanted an upgrade and charged us extra. That's dishonest. I won't ever be going back here ever again. It's a week night for fuck's sake. I don't need an XXXL drink I didn't order. Also, there's a service charge for no reason. They charge you a few dollars FOR NO REASON. Worse than a bank this place. They are shady AF. Go somewhere else to spend your hard earned money this place steals it by sneaking it onto the check. Bad business.

Beware of the aggressive, racist bouncers here. Ripped my husband's neck apart and hurt his already dislocated shoulder for no reason- he was in the bathroom with my cousin and then the bouncer came in and took him out for absolutely no reason. We noticed this particular bouncer being aggressive all night with multiple people, sucks that it happened to my husband. Drinks are mid, vibes are mid, and bouncers make this place unsafe by assaulting innocent people. The irony.

An excellent fun dive bar and glad to see it survived the pandemic! I wish they had their old prices but even with pandemic inflation their prices are still pretty reasonable, especially since you get the bang for your buck with their margs & beer growlers. Not to mention their tex-mex food is a home away from home. I also loved how they have legit outdoor heaters that actually work and it's still a fun place to go on a weeknight or weekend

There was a location in woodland hills years ago until it was shut down... and ever since then I've beeeeen dying to find it (not knowing it did) and came across the NoHo location. I absolutely loved this bar. Jello shots were $5 and food absolutely amazings not to mention decent pricing and daily happy hour. Food was deff better than expected. and loved the theme as well

My recent stop at El Tejano was a letdown. Rats were crawling on the bar, and the drinks were so watered down, it felt like they were breaking some health rules. The food was bland, too. Even though they haven't been busted for health violations, it's worrying they're ignoring these issues. I won't be back until they sort out the rats, improve their drinks, and pay attention to those health codes they're skirting around I honestly hope those rats take showers. I will not go there ever again. They need to shut it down.

WORST SECURITY GUARDS AND BOUNCERS I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. The head female security guard was incredibly rude. My boyfriend and I are 27 years old entering this bar. They don't allow him in because his ID was "peeling" on the edge???? Like what??? He just got it printed at the DMV, and again, we were well more of age to enter this bar. Nor has he had any other issues at any other place. Absolute unbelievable ruined our night.

I came to this bar with my brother that is visiting from out of town. He is on holiday therefore I planned a fun night out. We had a wonderful dinner, then I planned going to this bar afterwards. As soon as we walked in, I see several security guards in alert and that was my first red flag. We decided to stay for one drink while we feel out the vibes and determine whether we wanted to stay or leave this bar or go to a more upscale ambience. We went to the bar to order a drink. The male bartender was very friendly and immediately took our drink order. After we were served our drink we sat at a table that was open but had not been cleaned. After we sat down and began to sip on our drink i visited then women's bathroom and it was disgustingly filthy. I returned to our table and by then I had already decided we were going to leave this nasty bar. My brother agreed with my decision to leave but decided to visit the men's restroom before we left. Next thing you know to my surprise I see my brother being escorted by at least six security guards. My brother is a slim petite male that poses no threat to anyone. Why all the commotion? What did my brother do wrong to deserve this treatment? I immediately rushed to my brother and shouted to security "hey what is going on here?" Their answer was that my brother is intoxicated and fell asleep at the stall. That was a flat out lie! We still had our full glass of beer that we had decided to abandon as soon as he came back we wanted to get out of this nasty shady bar Asap! I do not recommend this bar to anyone unless you are young and unexperienced and don't know what's good and are okay with the unprofessionalism and risk dealing with untrained employees that disrespect their customers. I will never return to this bar, no one deserves such disrespect. Don't mess with my family! We are extremely offended and never have been treated in such manner. I am extremely disappointed. In addition to the lack of respect and unprofessional security guards, this bar is supposedly a TexMex bar, but it is clear they are clueless about Mexican culture and its music. Do not spend your money in this trashy place.

Security are a holes!! Literally like how others have commented/ reviewed! You can be waiting for a friend or whatever by the restroom and security will kick you out and lie on your name! The bars on the other side are way more chill and arent on your a** like the security here! Believe the bad reviews about the security if not go find our for your self and pls write a review! In the heart of Noho. I really enjoyed myself and there was barely anyone there. I can only imagine what it is like when busy. Looks like a whole lot of fun! They have a self-serve chips and salsa bar.. that's cool! Colorful place with the outdoor vibes in the front.

Great neighborhood bar! Fun games, daily happy hour specials, and tasty food. I had the Cantina Burger with waffle fries for $10 as their Thursday special and it was sooo good! I sat at the bar and received great service.

Best Tex-Mex I have found in the area! The vibe, service, food, drinks, happy hour deals and games all are perfect. I ate queso and shrimp tacos.

So let's start with security. This older woman working cabana security with brown curly hair in a pony tail not wearing a name tag was rude. She questioned my my id bc was "peeling". Issued in 2013 stood there questioned the legitimacy of my REAL drivers license bc of peeling? I understand a sports bar but I'm mid 30s from another major metropolitan city and never ever been questioned on my id. Otherwise Just a sports bar with some fun games for groups. Beers and some food. Honestly if they had security that was able to work with people I'd have a better experience.

Never been here for the food the tejano drinks are huge so just be aware fights and stuff do pop off after 12 sometimes you will be waiting over a hour to get in it's pretty over rated honestly you don't bring your date here usually just meet with the bros and bar hop

Buy one drink, next is $2!!!!! Hard to beat that. Good place to catch a game. Chill, casual vibe, decent food, overall good experience

If I could give negative stars I would. This place needs to be shut down. Had a friend that worked security there and once he was off the female manager offered us a slushy drink. She roofied my drink since she was the only one touching my drink. I ended up blacking out after not even one drink. The food is very bland and overpriced/cheap quality. I will never step foot into that place again as I lost my trust in the management staff there. If you go later in the night you are most likely going to see a fight break out. This place is trash!!

happy hour has really cheap and tasty drinks! their food was also really good. the only issue i had was what the indoors and outdoors have 2 different speakers and different music playing so it's a little hard to hear with a bigger group. the rest was great overall. they have fun games as well! fun spot with friends

This place is for low life's only. Most disposable people go here. They Blair music for the whole neighborhood like there are t people living across the street. Honestly I'm moving out of here and then I hope that a meteor hits it

This place hits big on what it advertises on which are massive sized margaritas. The lawn/front area is a great place to hang out and has some good shade which is needed. Place has a ton of TVs and has the games on so great for sport watchers. Will say it becomes pretty rowdy at night. There were definitely people who either worked there or were friends of people who did who were cutting the lines and made getting drinks take longer than it should.

We went for Cinco de Mayo and had a really good time. The place was packed, but we were still able to get drinks. I love that they have a chip and salsa bar that you can help yourself to. The chips are in a warmer and they are delicious. Tacos were really good. The tension is a little high. A fight did break out. There was definitely punches thrown. I think the security guard even got punched in the face. But still Had a great time..
