The 30 Best Restaurants in Guadalajara, Mexico | Eater

"When he opened El Terrible Juan Café in 2015, Juan Carlos Yerenas had one simple mission: make a great cup of coffee for his friends and family using the best coffee beans in Mexico. Working to build relationships with coffee plantations in the highlands of Chiapas and Cosautlán de Carvajal, Veracruz, this expresso specialist has grown along with his customer’s thirst for fine coffee. A lonche filled with chilaquiles or a mollete (open-face bean toast) with four cheeses pairs nicely with a shot of Chiapan espresso in Yerenas’s welcoming garage cafe in Zapopan, the perfect pick-me-up before heading to the Plaza del Sol or the Mercado de Abastos. Nice, clean, decent food, good coffee, decent service. I ordered the Terrible Bacon and Cheese sandwich which was OK. I also ordered two macchiattos whose flavor, body, foam were perfect but the drink was warm (not hot). I may comeback to try other food items, but will make sure to ask that my cortado coffee be hot.

Fantastic spot. The pastries (banana nut bread and date pastry) were fantastic. The brunch dishes were also great. Orange juice was fresh and coffee very well made

We had a wonderful brunch here. The sandwiches were so incredible that they will never be forgotten. The marzipan coffee was delicious also! The place gets busy and we were lucky to not have to wait for a table at 10am but there was a line up outside when we left.

Everything was perfect. The food, the atmosphere, the service, absolutely impeccable. This was the best breakfast I had in Guadalajara.

I found this place doing my research to visit Guadalajara. Right in the middle of Americana, blocks from Paseo Chapultepec. The staff is awesome, the service is fast, and the food doesn’t disappoint. Very affordable pricing. They are also pet friendly. Definitely worth the stop. I’ll keep going back.

I had the lonchesito pork. Very delicious and the salad went great with it (put it in the sandwich). 5/5 sandwich! Also Had the Italian soda with lychee (I think?) and it was good 4/5. Lacked some sugar in the lychee juice. The place was great for doing some laptop work and had great WiFi. Will be returning for sure before I leave Guadalajara

We tried the Pan Francés and the Rojo Chilaquiles, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, perfectly balancing texture and taste. The atmosphere of the place also added to the experience warm, welcoming, and relaxed, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal.
