Rolled Taco Specialist Expanding to National City and Mission Valley - Eater San Diego

"El Tianguis was banking on the success of a singular item when it first arrived in North Park in 2018 with rolled tacos, and only rolled tacos. Each taquito is rolled by hand, with made in-house corn tortillas, and fried in small batches throughout the day." - Candice Woo

Fresh Tortillas Anchor New Rolled Taco Shop - Eater San Diego

"Your rolled tacos cravings can now be satisfied at a new North Park spot dedicated to the popular Mexican snack. Fresh corn tortillas are the foundation of El Tianguis Rolled Taquitos, where they are made throughout the day in an automated oven displayed in the kitchen; the eatery cuts the end off each tortilla so that it rolls around the filling in a single layer, insuring a product that’s crisp and light. Owner Oscar Ancira, whose family founded the Delimex line of Mexican frozen food, has created a straightforward fast-casual menu of four taquito flavors — shredded chicken, shredded beef, potato, and lentil and quinoa; both the potato and lentil and quinoa fillings are vegan. Each flavor can be mixed and matched in sets of three, five, eight, or 12 taquitos, then topped with sour cream, shredded lettuce, and a blend of cotija and chihuahua cheese. Salsas range from a mild or spicy red sauce to a green tomatillo-based variety. There’s seating for 36 in the eatery, which is currently open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, though operating hours may extend to 11 p.m. on weekends. The shop tells Eater that they hope to launch many more locations in the future; for now, they’ll concentrate on central and south San Diego neighborhoods." - Candice Woo

Absolutely incredible spot — and a 100% gluten-free restaurant, which means zero risk of cross-contamination. As someone with celiac disease, this was such a relief. I felt completely safe and had no symptoms at all. We loved everything we tried, especially the quesatacos — perfectly cheesy, and packed with flavor. The rolled taquitos are their signature item and totally live up to the hype. We actually came back the next day because the food was that good. They even have gluten-free churros with chocolate or caramel sauce — a real treat and super rare to find gluten-free. The menu is large and reasonably priced, especially for the quality: • Taquitos start at $6.53 for 3, up to $23.99 for 12 (regular), and you can upgrade to “Supreme” versions with extra toppings and meat. • Tacos and quesatacos range from about $3.90 to $5.85. • Loaded fries, nachos, and rice bowls with your choice of protein (like carne asada, birria, adobada) are around $14.16. • Sides like rice, beans, guacamole, and fries are around $2.89–$6. • Drinks including aguas frescas and sodas are between $1.82–$3.15. There’s also a great variety of vegan and vegetarian options (like lentil & quinoa taquitos and potato fillings). Great value for the price, delicious food, and completely gluten-free — this place is an absolute gem. I seriously wish we had a branch in Germany. I already miss it!

Google
This restaurant is a hidden delicious gem! I’m thankful I was craving rolled tacos and swear he’d around the area because the taste of the rolled tacos, it was chef’s kiss! We tried the California rolled tacos and they were so crunchy but soft in the middle and their green mild salsa complemented the food so well. We also got chicken and beef taquitos with birria on top and as someone that had tried birria at multiple places, their birria was one of the best ones I’ve tried. The atmosphere/decor was so on point, I felt like I was at an art exhibit. Service was great, the girl at the register was very nice and food came out super quick. Parking is in a plaza, tons of parking spots, the only downside was that there was a couple (2) homeless men by the parking lot but other than that we had an excellent experience. Best part of all was that heir entire menu is gluten free, that made me so happy!

Google
Trying to find gluten-free Mexican food options for my Celiac daughter is difficult, but El Tianguis more than delivered with them being a gluten-free establishment. Food and service were both excellent. Definitely coming back!

Google
Good rolled tacos, rude people on the phone for pickup orders, seemed overwhelmed and rushed. Wouldn’t recommend takeout as the taquitos were bad by the time we drove 10 minutes home. Will eat in restaurant next time for sure

I absolutely love rolled tacos, and when I found out about this place, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Since it was my turn to pick the place for lunch, this was my choice. It’s located in a rather small strip mall and as soon as I pulled in, I realized that parking could be a challenge. We got lucky as a couple of cars pulled out just as we pulled in. As you walk in the door, you are immersed in brightly colored Mexican artwork with culturally appropriate music playing in the background. I took note of just how clean and neat the place was it was impressive. You’re even able to see into the kitchen and it’s very clean and brightly lit. Only thing I didn’t like were the steel barstool seats. If you have a bony butt, they are uncomfortable. I ordered four rolled tacos that come with cabbage, guacamole, and pico de gallo and my other friends ordered two Carnitas taco combo with beans and rice, and one just ordered two Carne Asada tacos. The rolled tacos, although the same length as most rolled tacos I’ve had, were more plump and when I bit into one, the crust was really nicely crispy. That is definitely one of my must have criteria for a good rolled taco. They weren’t at all greasy and the shredded beef filling had a nice unique flavor. They’re not the belly bombs I’m used to getting at other fast food, Mexican joints, so I could’ve handled a couple of more of’em. The scoop of guacamole was kind of hidden under some shredded cabbage and pico de gallo, and I didn’t realize it until I had eaten one of the rolled tacos. Next time, and I look forward to the next time, I’ll make sure to spread the guacamole around before I eat those little tacos. Both of my friends really enjoyed the food they ordered and agreed that the flavor was different from most other Mexican fast food restaurants and different in a good way. And the service was also really good. The young woman who took our order, was pleasant, helpful and told us to go have a seat and she’ll bring our meals out to us when they’re ready. And it didn’t take very long to get our food, maybe five minutes. The menu is not extensive, just some nachos, rice bowls or loaded fries in addition to tacos, so if you go there, you’re going there for either rolled or regular tacos. But I think that’s what makes the food a little bit better, their focus is on fewer items made better.

Google
Finding restaurants that meet our family' dietary needs isn't always easy. El Tianguis checks all of the boxes, but is delicious! The entire menu is gluten-free, many vegetarian options, and most meals could be made vegan. The birra quesotacos and fish tacos were incredible. The staff were very kind and helpful. And the restaurant was immaculate.

Google
Had the rolled tacos Glad it's a gluten free establishment and it's a safe place for people to eat. The place was clean and smelled great Service was quick Food was fresh and tasted well. You can see the kitchen, everything look well kept. Tasted authentic. Great selection and option for people to eat. Not soggy at all

Yelp
My friend and I visited here from out of town and this was one of our favorite spots. My friend has coeliac and was able to order gluten free with ease. That's always a huge breath of relief when the menu feels accessible, so well done on the gluten free department. The value of the food was great, we both left feeling full and not like our wallets were robbed. Taquitos were very tasty and the service was friendly. Ambience was fine, nothing spectacular, but I prefer that in my opinion. A lack of flashy interior means they likely aren't compensating for something. Would recommend.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try the rolled taco goodness of El Tianguis, but was especially surprised to realize that they've also got some great regular taco options. I ordered carne asada, adobada and chicken tacos along with some potato tacos that were loaded just the way I like them! Everything was delicious and tasty. I was surprised that 4 tacos and 3 taquitos cost close to $30. This felt a little steep for the amount of food, but it did taste good. They have a good selection and they provide you with verde and/or rojo salsa that are also tasty.

Yelp
El Tianguis specializes in rolled tacos and has flavors like beef, California, chicken, and potato. The prices are pretty affordable, especially because it comes with guac. Today I got a 4 taquitos combo, choosing 2 California and 2 chicken. Both were good. It's only $2 more to make it a combo with a side of rice and beans. Customer service is always friendly here and always clean, too. I'm giving it 4 stars because although it's good, I wouldn't say it's amazing.

Yelp
El Tianguis's rolled tacos topped with Mexican sour cream, cabbage, pico de gallo, guacamole, and a mixture of cotija and chihuahua cheese can be so addictive. This little shop opened their OG location in the University Heights/North Park neighborhood several years ago. The parking at this strip mall is not one of my favorites because open spots are rare with several popular businesses as neighbors. The business has hosted at least two Elite Week events that I can recall. I liked the simplicity of the taquitos menu. Five types were available... * Beef: Shredded beef in Mexican sauce * Chicken: Chicken in tomatillo sauce * California: Shredded beef, potato, cheese * Potato: Mashed golden potato * Vegan: Lentil and quinoa At one of my visits, I ordered eight pieces... two beef, two chicken, two potato, and two vegan. The potato happened to be vegan too. My favorite was the chicken because the tomatillo sauce added a tart contrast to the meat. There was a neat automated oven in the kitchen churning out fresh corn tortillas which you can observe in action. The tortillas were fried just right without being too oily. The amount of guacamole and salsa provided was generous too. With a family legacy of creating the brand of Delimex frozen taquitos, the owners sure have mastered this product. I am happy to see they have opened other stores around town (Chula Vista/Otay Ranch, Mission Valley) so that people can travel shorter distances to try their taquitos aka rolled tacos aka flautas aka tacos dorados.

Yelp
El Tianguis has not only been expanding their locations, they've been expanding their menu as well. They now have tacos and queso tacos. I tried their quesabirria tacos today and they were excellent. My only suggestion would be to make the tacos a lunch special so that it's possible to order rice and beans on the side like you can with the rolled tacos :)

Yelp
As you can see from the picture, these are just delicious good sazón , these taquitos are amazing ! I ate so fast and had to do a yelp review before I ate them all definitely recommend! Wish they had more drink options though but , food is definitely worth it!

Yelp
10/10 I was looking for a go-to but on the healthier side & I found a great Latin place to enjoy food, get full and not feel bad afterwards. I ordered the grilled chicken tacos and the quesatacos! Amazing! The meat is exceptional, cooked very well and marinated. Very cute & quaint, I appreciate the industrial look. Stop what you're doing right now & order some food! 10/10 you will enjoy it! I ate it so fast, I'll stop by and take pictures next time.

Yelp
I came here with some friends to check out this place that was nearby. We were all in the mood for some taquitos which is why we stopped here. My roommate and i split about 9 taquitos with each other and my friend got some birria fries. Walking in, i didnt expect much because the decor was a bit out there and i thought this was not going to be "grandma level" mexican food. Although i did think the decor was cute and my roommate and i did joke around about getting some similar decor for our place. So at this location you can order between 3 and 12 taquitos as regular or supreme. Getting supreme means that you can get some extra protein of your choice: either carne asada, chicken, birria, or carnitas. We decided to add birria on top of our taquitos. For the filling of the tacos you can get either beef, california, chicken, potato, and vegan (if i recall it was chickpeas or lentils as the filling). You can mix and match the fillings to your preference, so we ordered california, potato, and vegan. The vegan taco was definitely a highlight and i was surprised i liked it because im a meat eater forsure. We got so full at the end that we didnt even want to leave the restaurant. We tried every salsa and we had 0 problems with any of them. I preferred the hottest one though. As we were ordering the staff was extremely helpful in explaining how to order and all Possible options. I will absolutely come here again when im ready to eat some more taquitos!

Yelp
Delicious! I tried the vegan and potato versions, and I really like the potato. It was a tad dry, but not too bad. Thank you to the workers for being very allergy cautious and checking for me. Food came out very quickly (less than 10 min) on a Saturday night. Plenty of open seating available. There is parking out front, but the back also has an entrance to a covered lot that is shared between housing residents (housing above the restaurant) and commercial customers. The covered lot has a lot of open space to park if you can't find any in front.

Yelp
This place was delicious even when it was a to go order. I got a total of 8 beef and chicken taquitos. At first, I was actually very indecisive whether I wanted this or not but I'm glad I got it. You can taste the meat and how flavorful it is after each bite. There was cheese but it wasn't too overpowering. The shells were also very crunchy even when it was a to go order. I do recommend eating it within 1-2 hours though. On top of that I really love how they provided a generous amount of avocado and cabbage. It definitely tied this whole entire dish together since this dish had the flavor, crunchiness, and freshness.

Yelp
These taquitos are amazing. The service is excellent and super nice. The ambiance is pretty chill, I totally recommend them!!!
google avatar

Krista K.

Yelp
Love that the entire menu is gluten free, my table tried the taquitos, carne asada quesotaco, and birria nachos. Everything was delicious, taquitos were best eaten quickly before they got soggy from toppings. Service was fast and friendly. Environment was welcoming and casual. Definitely will return.

Yelp
So nice to have an all-gluten free kitchen so I don't have to stress with celiac disease, and the food is so good! It's also difficult to find gf food that's affordable, so this place is all the more special to me. A must whenever I'm in San Diego.

Yelp
Wanted to give El Tianguis another shout out for being so responsive to feedback. A few days ago, they announced they were going to add a flour tortilla taco to the menu, meaning they would no longer be dedicated gluten free. This upset a lot of celiacs because dedicated gluten free restaurants are so hard to come by and the feeling of being able to eat at a restaurant without having to be the person holding up the line asking the cook to change gloves and keep your order separate is such a relief. Well, word got out a couple days later and they were flooded with requests to reconsider the change. Last night, they announced that they will remove the flour tortilla from the menu, stay dedicated gluten free, and remain a safe haven for celiacs! It's not often that restaurants are that open to feedbacks and willing to course correct. THANK you El Tianguis for continuing to be so awesome. May you continue to enjoy lots of patronage from gluten free locals and gluten free tourists alike!

Yelp
Delicious rolled tacos! Crunchy tacos, crunchy cabbage and fresh cheese. Add a little bit of salsa and you are ready for a perfect bite of a delicious rolled taco. Beef are always the way to go if you ask me :) Love that they serve cold beers to make that bite even more delicious. Located in a plaza there is plenty of parking. Simply delicious and totally worth checking out.

Yelp
Amazing service Delicious food Simple menu I would say they're the In&Out of rolled taquitos. They know what they make well and they stick to it. Any time we have friends visiting from out of town we take them there for a nice, quick, delicious meal.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is good but I've noticed that there tacos have gotten thinner since they've opened this location. I would like for them to be more fuller, and also for them to add more sour cream. Service is good pretty standard . The place is cute and small. With artwork all around. I love the lighting.
google avatar

Kirsten K.

Yelp
I ordered 2 potato and 2 chicken rolled tacos with lettuce, cheese and guacamole. Fresh. Hot, flavorful and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The guacamole was a scoop, as you can see, and next time I would order extra... there wasn't enough. My friend orded 3 beef rolled taco supreme, covered with cheese, guacamole, lettuce, pico and carne asada. They were delicious too! The carne asada on top was a game changer!! Definitely will do that next time with extra guacamole!!
google avatar

Yelp
for anyone that knows me, I am a rolled tacos fiend!!! so shout out to Yelp San Diego for putting me on this during the #passporttonorthpark event or else it would have taken me a lot longer to come to this place. The staff was very nice and patient with me while I was trying to figure out what combinations of rolled tacos I wanted, which were phenomenal by the way. For an actual, non-taco shop restaurant, these rolled tacos were wow!!! They are a little on the smaller side, but the freshness, the amount of meat on top for the Supreme add-on, the crunch were all well worth it!! My partner and I tried a few meat combos: beef, chicken, potato and some with either carne asada or birria on top (supreme add-on option) and the chicken surprisingly were our favorite! The birria was really flavorful so I recommend adding that if you decide to do the supreme option. I would definitely come back for my rolled taco fix!
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Yum! Got chicken taquitos to go and they even held up in a 30 min drive home. Crunchy and plenty of toppings. The place itself was clean and the staff was friendly. Parking was easy too.
google avatar

Alora S.

Yelp
This place is SO good. I have celiac and I love being able to eat here with zero worries about cross contamination. There is no wheat in anything they make. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out quick. They cater too! I have them cater my birthday and was so pleased with everything. They gave generous portions of all sides and salsas. The murals in the restaurants are really pretty and it's never too loud. The restaurants are always very clean. Highly recommend the vegan rolled tacos. The filling is so good.

Yelp
El Tianguis is a restaurant on El Cajon Blvd that specializes in rolled tacos/taquitos and special rice bowls. I have been here twice, and both times absolutely loved it. Ambiance-wise: it's a small shop in a little shopping plaza. The decor and color of the shop is appealing and definitely on the trendier side. Service-wise: the workers were very nice and polite both times I have been here and provided recommendations when we asked. The shop was also very clean which is a reflection of how much they care. Food-wise: as noted earlier, El Tianguis specializes in a variety of taquitos and rice bowls. I only ordered the taquitos my two trips here but will try the rice bowls in the future. For the taquitos, they have beef, chicken, California, potato, and vegan as options and you can order up to 12 taquitos. You can either have the regular order or add on the Supreme (they tack on carne asada, chicken, birria, or carnitas on top of regular order). There are additional charges for extras and sides. I haven't had the rice bowl yet, but it feature a bed of rice with a variety of toppings. They also serve loaded fries and nachos, sodas, agua fresca, and beer. I personally am a fan of taquitos, so it's really refreshing to have a spot that serves great ones. I definitely will be here on the regular going forward.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and keep coming back. Their taquitos are super good (on a good day). There have been times where it was a miss because the taste was really bland but they're good enough to keep coming back for! There's an option of Beef, Chicken, Potatoes, California (beef, potatoes and cheese) or Vegan (Lentils and Quinoa. I personally like the Beef for California the most! The chicken is almost there but it just feels like its missing something! It's nice that you can add a combo of rice and beans to it, but it only goes up to 6 taquitos! Unless you're super hungry or sharing, 6 is more than enough! I normally eat about 4-5 and I'm full after. The salsa compliments them pretty well no matter which you get. (I typically get all three) They've also started offering chips and salsa + guac recently!
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Simple straight forward menu makes selecting your meal that much easier! I've tried them all and they're all delicious. They don't skim on toppings either. Great pick for rolled tacos if you're wanting a change from your typical taco shop
google avatar

Yelp
$12.71, almost 13 bucks for 6 burnt rolled tacos. All 6 of them were burnt too, inside and out, the picture doesn't do it justice. I added a star because the guacamole was good, the cashier was nice, and the place was clean. I see that this restaurant has a lot of good reviews, and decent customer pictures of their food so maybe I just came when the chef was having a bad day. Doesn't really matter much either way because I will not be returning. Next time I'm in the mood for rolled tacos I'll just go to Robertos 10 which is literally across the street for actual edible and tasty rolled tacos for half the price. I found this place via a radio advertisement and they said "the best rolled tacos in san diego" Yeah... I'm never trusting the radio again.

Yelp
Dedicated GF! For my celiac wife who hasn't had real taqueria food since her diagnosis, this place brought tears to her eyes. The food was so good, and service so friendly. We mixed and matched all the TA Quito options and all were delicious. Our 4 year old who may also have celiac was thrilled to have authentic rice and beans for the first time in 2 years as well. So great, we will be back. Found on Find Me Free

Yelp
I know, I know, there's rolled tacos on every corner in San Diego, and everybody has their favorite, Alberto's, Alliberto's, Roberto's, Shmobertos, etc. that said, this place is the real deal! Their rolled tacos, a.k.a. taquitos, are some of the best I've ever had. No burnt ends, stringy meat, greasy centers, etc. made to order and really tasty! Housemaid guacamole was fresh and real (no guacamole "sauce"). The cheese was sharp, and the red sauce was on point! Rolled tacos are all they do, and they do it really, really well. Hot tip, you can mix and match your order so if you order five rolled tacos, you can do two chicken, one California, and one beef, etc..
google avatar

Dung N.

Yelp
El Tianguis specializes in rolled tacos, so that is the only thing on the menu! I tried the beef, California, chicken, and potato rolled tacos. They also offer vegan ones, so there's something for everyone! My hubby asked for everything on the side, but I liked mine as is. The rolled taquitos come with sour cream, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, and salsa on the side. The taquitos are made to order, so you'll have freshy and crunchy ones to enjoy! I think these are really tasty and a great place to get them if you're craving for yummy taquitos!

Yelp
I LOVE this place! Excellent food & service. Please keep this place gluten free forever so we can continue to enjoy it

Yelp
Growing up in Mexico I am used to eating flautas on a regular basis. In SoCal they are called rolled tacos but despite my best efforts I've never been able to find the flautas that I am accustomed to eating. That is now a thing of the past. Whatever you decide to call these I can assure you that El Tianguis has what you're looking for. Fresh food with amazing toppings and salsa are top notch here. California style is my favorite! Go visit El Tianguis and thank me later, you're welcome!
google avatar

Lee T.

Yelp
The amount of food for the prices is great. Not a lot of places will offer supreme which the rolled tacos will be topped off with meat which I find important because you don't get a lot of meat if it's just in the rolled tacos.
google avatar

Becky L.

Yelp
Tucked into a small shopping plaza on El Cajon Blvd is a restaurant focuses on Rolled Tacos. I would have never guessed that a place could exist only on rolled tacos, so I had to check it out! They have a variety of filling options and you can choose the quantity. I stopped by for a quick bite to see what they had to offer. I got the 3 piece California and felt that I paid a little too much for what I got. They were good and came with a generous toppings, but overall I didn't walk away from this meal thinking it was superior to ordering rolled tacos at a nearby taco shop. I think this place it worth a try just to get something different inside a rolled taco, but I don't foresee myself paying these prices over and over again. The quality was good and the flavor was good, but unfortunately I think this is a niche market that I don't particularly crave often enough to make the price worth it. I do wish their business well and hope they continue to succeed!
google avatar

Nikki V.

Yelp
Tried the taquitos in a cup, they were OK. Service was OK too, everything was fresh, but the taquitos were a lil soft and not as crunchy as I like them. Parking can be difficult here.
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
I've gotten the flautas here and was surprised when I saw they even had chamango and other similar flavors. The flautas are bomb and I noticed they have a taco Tuesday special. Small tacos for a decent price but cannot remember how much it was rn. They were prompt with my pickup order and I'll be coming back when I'm craving some good Mexican.

Yelp
El Tianguis is an absolute hidden gem. It's a pretty low key spot in midst of an entire mini food plaza, so it's easy to overlook it; don't. Service is great. There's plenty of seating inside, and the decorations are fun. The prices are SO reasonable, and I appreciate the different quantities they offer. Four always seems to be the perfect amount for me; I'm the right amount of satiated without feeling like I overate but excited to get more soon. Let's talk food -- I've tried their carnitas, beef, and California taquitos. For the sake of my life, I could never remember which one I liked most, so truly, just order all three. They're all a fantastic time. The real winner here, if you can believe it or not, is actually their hot salsa. I handle spice pretty well, but this sauce HITS perfectly. It's perfectly spicy and savory. I'm obsessed. Would absolutely come back whenever I want an easygoing meal, and cannot recommend this spot enough (especially for that salsa).

Yelp
These were the BEST rolled tacos I've had. The shell was fried so perfectly crispy and golden brown. I love how they color coded everything so you could tell the rolled tacos apart. You can order from 3-8 count or 12. I love this because it allows you to try so many different ones whereas other taco shops, you're stuck with either an order or 3 or 5 of the same ones. Huge plus to that. The rolled tacos themselves are a little smaller than what you would normally get elsewhere - so I suggest ordering a bunch if you're trying to make it a meal vs. a snack or appetizer. Speaking of snack - this is the perfect snack!! We ordered California, Beef, Chicken, and Potato. My favorites were definitely the beef and chicken!

Yelp
Hubs and I went to the one in Mission Valley. Had no issues finding parking. There wasn't many people in so we got our food really fast. It was very good. Very happy with the vegetarian/vegan options. Will definitely go again! Also it was incredibly clean! Nice to sit down at a table and it not be sticky!

Yelp
I had a wonderful dinner tonight thanks to this restaurant. I tried 3 different rolled tacos . The California , potato and vegan lentil quinoa. All were very good with a nice crunchy shell . They come topped with the lettuce, onion, guacamole & sour cream . You have a choice of red or tomatillo salsa . The tomatillo was pretty good . I did also try the sides of rice and beans . The pinto beans had an excellent homemade traditional smashed goodness to them that I really liked . Decor was bright and lively . Overall friendly staff and a nice place to eat at in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Stopped in tonight to pick up some dinner from my father, he is really picky with his food since he is a chief himself. He loves chicken rolled tacos and when I have brought him chicken rolled tacos from other restaurants he always finds something wrong with them. I ordered five chicken roll tacos and brought them home. My dad loved them and had no complaints, which made me a happy daughter to see him satisfied. They had real shredded chicken Inside the rolled taco, not your mushy chicken like some other places. They were fried perfectly with just enough crisp and not over fried. My dad said they were very flavorful and fresh tasting like they just rolled up the tacos. The hot sauce there is pretty good too. If you are craving some fresh chicken rolled tacos this is the place to come to.

Yelp
Came back to this amazing spot on our way to the San Diego Zoo for a bite before our visit. We ordered the 8 taquito plate with a mix of some chicken, some California and some potato. All had a great unique flavor accompanied by three choices of salsa (we had to try them all) and none of them let us down. These little gems are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and just the right amount to toppings. Nice to see more of these restaurants popping up around town. Keep up the great work!!!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Seeing the high ratings, I decided to give them another try. Sorry, I prefer the taquitos at Roberto's a few blocks down. While they do come with sour cream, the guacamole was nothing special.

Yelp
W restaurant. The food busted. 10/10 must try again period. The employees are so chill and the beef taquitos are on a whole notha level of bussin.

Yelp
It was ok. The space is cute, nicely decorated with colorful art. The taquitos are frozen and dunked in a fryer. They did not taste better than others I have had in other Mexican restaurants. The guacamole though was fresh and tasted really good!

Yelp
Really yummy taquitos/rolled tacos! Great variety of flavors and you can choose different flavors in one order. We got an order of 4 taquitos in these flavors: Beef, Chicken, Potato and California! Definitely worth the quick drive and 10 bucks! Salsa is also great! Atmosphere is colorful and fun.

Yelp
Rolled tacos are a favorite of mine and I'm no stranger to El Tianguis before. Their flautas are always filling and I usually can eat around 3-4 of them without feeling extremely full afterwards. I got a takeout of 5 rolled tacos to share and got chicken and beef. They neatly packaged all the toppings on the side and I received the right amount of sour cream, lettuce, and guacamole salsa. Their salsa verde is really good and the darker red sauce could use more spice. Sometimes the filling does get lost in the bite but they label it with a colored sticker. They stayed crunchy during the car ride and when I got home too. I would recommend getting toppings on the side for takeout. To me, rolled tacos are always going to be good and I feel like it's hard to mess it up!

Yelp
They're pretty much known for their rolled tacos. My go-to one is California since it's beef and potato. I have a friend who's vegetarian who likes the potato one. She was from out of town and told me it was one of her favorite meals while visiting here. It comes with guacamole and salsa on the side. I like their verde sauce. The guacamole is a bit spicy but has a nice kick to it. Service has always been great with each visit. If you're ordering with friends, it is cheaper the more you order per taquito.
