I came here on a Saturday at 4:30pm and this placed was surprisingly busy. There were only a couple tables available but our party of 6 was seated right away. It was a warm day outside but the restaurant did not have the air conditioning on. It heated up fairly quickly inside. Service was prompt and straight to the point.
Our table got complimentary chips, salsa, and ceviche. I did wish they would have brought 2 baskets of chips out. The menu is large and there was a great mix of meat and seafood. What really caught my eye was the Parillada Mariscos $29.95 that serves two. A seafood Parillada? Sold. This came with different sized shrimp, crab, imitation crab, octopus, clams, mussels, squid, quesadilla, peppers, green onions, and tortillas. It also came with two plates of rice, beans, and guacamole. There was plenty of flavor in the sauce and I didn't feel the need to squeeze lime all over it. We also got 3 tacos (chorizo $1.75, lengua $2, tripa $2). The tripa was my favorite of the 3 as it tasted meaty and fatty with just a little crispy sear. We shared this among 3 people and still took home leftovers. The portions are very generous besides the tacos as they were the traditional serving size. The rest of our table really enjoyed their entrees as well.
If you're craving mexican but want the option of seafood, El Tsunami is your spot! I'll be back soon to explore more of the menu.
