"An informal restaurant in which guests can experience the true essence of Martín Berasategui in Palma via a selection of tapas and more elaborate dishes. Booking well in advance is highly recommended." - Michelin Inspector

"The pandemic has sent cooks in search of their roots, resulting in a renewed love of down-home cooking across Spain. Nowhere is this more visible than at a casa de comidas, an informal place where locals go for lunches of casserole, omelet, or stew. Even Spain’s most Michelin-starred chef, Martín Berasategui, got in on the trend with one of 2021’s most high-profile openings, a casa de comidas in Palma. Menu highlights include the omelet with cod and caramelized onions, tomatoes stuffed with baby squid, and steak tartare “like Martín eats it” — all infused with that Berasategui magic. We started with tapas, moved to mains, and ended with dessert. The food was excellent and as you can see they did a perfect medium rare steak. Get the Basque cheesecake for dessert! Not overly sweet yet amazingly creamy but not heavy all in perfect harmony. Our server spoke English and English menu was available. Service was as expected and appropriate for the price point. One recommendation would be to forgo paying for additional sides dishes, unless you intend to share, as all mains come with small sides on the plate.

I visited El Txoko de Martín on Christmas Eve, for lunch. The tasting menu looked fantastic, so I opted for that... and it was fantastic! All beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The attention to detail is excellent, and the flavour combinations superb. Service was attentive but not overbearing. I also had individual glasses of wine, and have to say they were excellent too. The Marqués de Murrieta Reserva Tempranillo was from 2019: delicious. All in, thoroughly recommended. I will hopefully be heading back there sometime.

There was a lot of fuss when this restaurant first opened so we decided to wait until it was a bit more established. I think it was a good move. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was delicious (we shared three starters and one main between two of us), and we enjoyed a wonderful Mencía wine. We will go back. 😍 🍷

Excellent Mallorca restaurant with very tasty food. Twelve of us sat outside and really enjoyed the choice of dishes on offer. Good wine selection; we had a nice Rioja. Service was prompt and attentive. I’m sure we will visit again even though it was amongst the most expensive meals during our week in Mallorca.

Great food, sat at the bar and had wonderful service and well looked after for the evening. Everything we ate was delicious and tried tapas, mains and was convinced to try the cheesecake which was excellent.

The food was very overall very good. The aperativ (bread, olives and aioli) were delicous. The starters were really good aswell. The tomato tartare was exciting with the tomato serum perls on top. The main courses were good. The entrecote was good. I've seen better. The lamb was very good though. The fries were a bit lame, they weren't one the level of the rest. The mashed patatoes were smooth and good. The chimichurri was a 9/10. A bit more parsley to make it a 10/10. But overall very good experience. Service 10/10.

The wine, the service and the food was amazing. One of the tastiest meals I’ve ever had. A real gem of a restaurant.

Honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had… Beautiful bar that did not serve any drinks, even upon request. The food was disgraceful — anything beyond padrons and jamon was inedible. Stay away from the tuna and mussels, we sent both back, because it tasted spoiled, and both were on the bill and not to be removed, even upon request. We would not recommend this to anyone.
