The food is good, the prices are good too.

I used to live around the corner and bought their tacos almost everyday. That was about 40 years ago. It must be passed down through the family because it still has the same soft tacos that I love. I don’t go as often as I would like to but I will keep going there as long as they are around. Oh, the carnitas are great also as I’m sure all of their food is.

Google
Mediocre and overpriced. Al pastor was fatty.

Google
I went like a few days ago and i ordered two lengua tacos and two al pastor. The lengua wasnt even any meat it was just all fat and undercooked. I didnt eat the al pastor because it was way too hard. I got food poisoning because of it.there is usually a guy with slickback hair who makes the tacos alright, but there is another guy who cooks and they turn out horrible.

Google
Great food, quality meat in the tacos, best orxata (not made from concentrate/powder, here you can drink the real deal orxata made from scratch!). Nice spacious and luminous place, family friendly, great for families with kids! (baby burrito is just the perfect size for the kids). Very nice service. Celebrared my son's 8th birthday here. Will come again!

Google
Really yummy. I got the wet torta with pastor. It was amazing! Great flavor, great spicy level. Super good bread and pastor had good taste. Fast service. Kids friendly. My boys got quesadilla with french fries. Everyone went home happy. Will visit again.

Yelp
I have been going to this place for over 10 years. It's amazing. Flavor has never changed. It's gives hole in the wall vibes but it's a very clean well maintained place. They have a big outdoor seating area which is great for this time of year. Their fried fish taco made it to the east bay times taco trail recommended spot. It's my favorite thing to order next to the fried shrimp taco. I also get their regular chicken tacos often. I have no idea what they do to their meat but it's DELICIOUS. Ask for their mango habanero salsa. Also, Delicious. I've also had their camarones a la diabla. SO good, reminded me of what I ate in Mexico. Spicy and slight hint of sweetness. Their service is always friendly and food is always pipping hot. Free chips and salsa also. Why not check this place out!?

Gregory L.

Yelp
Love their lengua and tripe burrito!! I would def recommend. Staff is very friendly and service is awesome!

Constantine T.

Yelp
Love the wet burritos, chips and salsa! Service is always amazing and love the free chips and salsa. Our go to Mexican cuisine for the family, mom loves the seafood.

Yelp
I have gone to this place since I was a kid. Always has the best Mexican food in town

Lanetta W.

Yelp
Got it on door dash a few times, my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. He gets a burrito, I get Al pastor tacos.

Yelp
During yesterday's wind gusts, our home lost power. For 21 HOURS! It made for a long day and night. When the power came back on, we were jubilant! But then, oh yeah, we needed to replace the food in our refrigerator. Ugh. In order to go on this quest, we needed sustenance. Specifically, TACOS! Off to El Yahualica we went! El Yahualica is one of the stops on the #concordtacotrail The team there is very welcoming and friendly. They were happy to answer my questions about the menu and make suggestions. Service was excellent! I chose 3 Tacos to try: Grilled Shrimp Carne Asada El Pastor These made to order tacos were served in double tortillas. Clean, fresh, bright, spicy flavors. The shrimp were grilled just right and the meats were perfectly cooked. My favorite? El Pastor! The marinade was citrusy with just the right amount of heat on the finish. We'll be back! #concordtacotrail #visitconcordca

Yelp
I had really high hopes for this spot! It came highly recommended by multiple people to me. I have to say though thatI have had better tacos before. I ordered a carne asada, pollo asado and carnitas taco to hopefully get an overview of the place. Surprisingly the chicken taco was the best one! The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The carnitas was good but I like my pork a little juicier. The carnitas was not good at all. The meat was cut up really small so it was over cooked to the point of being almost burnt. The salsas here though are so delicious! Nice amount of heat to them and very tasty! The other people with me were also not impressed because the vegetarian items they orders tasted like fish. They were not sure if it was the beans or the tomatoes but something was off.

Yelp
This little taqueria has been remodeled on the inside to be very modern and spacious. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. It's in a little shopping center in a residential neighborhood and has plenty of parking. I ordered a variety of tacos to include carne asada, birria, and carnitas tacos and Camarones a la Diabla. The tacos were fresh and tasted really good. The Camarones a la Diabla was just okay. It's more of a specialty item but I thought I'd give it try since it's one of my favorite dishes. The sauce wasn't spicy enough for me and I felt it could have had more flavor. They did start making a new item, fish tacos! Which look really good in the pictures.
google avatar

Yelp
Very clean restaurant, very sweet waitress, very delicious food. I love this place! Highly recommended. Every Item Ive tried here is authentic and fresh and delicious.

Yelp
Great experience cruising the Concord Taco Trail! Staff was excellent, appreciated the chef taking an interest in our dining experience and getting our thoughts on the food. The meats were tasty and delicious. Nice quantity of meat per taco. Pricing was very competitive. Service was fast and what a great personality! Definitely on our list of come backs - now I want to try their great looking burritos!

Yelp
It's official: I'm highly addicted to the shrimp tacos here. HIGHLY addicted. They're just so damn delish!!! My go-to Taqueria for shrimp tacos recently changed their hours due to COVID-19. Because of this, it's basically been impossible for me to go there for my shrimp taco fix. Had to search for an alternative in the meantime, and Yelp led me to El Yahualica. I've actually driven passed this taqueria on numerous occasions, but for some reason, I never took the time to actually stop in until now. This place is seriously a hidden gem! It's actually not really easy to see from street view. It's tucked away in the Las Montañas shopping center in the corner. The setup is that of your typical neighborhood taqueria. No frills here, just the basics. But the TACOS!!! Sheesh. Straight addictive. It's honestly the only thing that I've had here so far, and that's really just because I can't get enough of them. My cravings drive me wild, but El Yahualica has satisfied them to a tee every single time thus far. So about them tacos: All you really need is 3. Yep. JUST 3. That's a whole meal in itself. They load them up really nice and pack those babies with all of the lovable spices and garnishments that my little heart yearns for. Their shrimp tacos are street style and they provide the radishes, pickled carrots, jalapeño peppers, limes and grilled onions that I love. Their salsas are killer! And if you like it spicy, they'll give it to you spicy. Their chips are bomb AF too! I believe that they're made in-house and it tastes as such. Oh yeah, and they're complimentary!!! Shayla LOVES free chips and salsa, especially when they're tasty. Let me not forget about their horchata!!! Not too sweet, but still delicious. The staff is always friendly whenever I come in. They've cut their hours back a bit because of the pandemic, but they're still cranking out those take out orders. I'm so happy that I found this little place! It has now become my to-go shrimp taco spot. I know that I need to probably explore their menu a bit more, but right now... I'm hooked on them tacos! Would highly recommend them too.

Alexa J.

Yelp
Come check out everything they have! It's delicious!! Make sure you try out their seafood and all the meats they're bomb !!

Yelp
Went here for dinner with family. We got a child's plate for my five-year old and my wife and I got tacos. We both loved the food. Service was good. The place had decent decore. If this place took care for some little things it would be much better. Put the broom and dustpan away; out of site from the customer. Move the cardboard out of the dining area. Get rid of the unnecessary junk in the dining area.
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
We happened to be getting some work done nearby and asked if there was anything to eat within walking distance. We found our destination and have to say the food was so good!! We got street taco (Tripas, and carne asada) we also got nachos with some carne asada as well. So good everything tasted fresh and Reasonably priced. So, if you have to be near this spot give it a try.
google avatar

Jesse D.

Yelp
The service and the food were excellent. Very clean and relaxed inside with a nice patio area. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Ricardo P.

Yelp
Great tacos, great service, very clean! Shrimp & Al pastor tacos delicious. Mexican soups are great for hangovers and cold days! Highly recommended to try it out! You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Food is very cheap, but bland in flavor. Won't be returning. Ordered tacos and burritos which are so simple.
google avatar

Luis O.

Yelp
Tried this place a few weeks ago. I liked the tacos especially the shrimp ones. Im not out this way often but I have a spot to go to if i am.
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place!! I can't get enough. I highly recommend EVERYTHING on the menu. I brought my mother here because I wanted her to know how much I love their tacos de tripa and she gives it a 10/10

Yelp
Greatest damn Latin food in the country! I know! I've been all over the country and nothing like this! Next level!

Maria R.

Yelp
If I could give them 0 starts I would. I ordered a shrimp cóctel and was the worst cóctel I ever had. Had about 4 shrimps and few pieces of octopus, the broth didn't have any flavor and had big chunks of tomato. Definitely don't recommend their shrimp cóctel.

A V.

Yelp
Honestly, was not impressed by anything, other than how clean the place was (gave it a whole star based on that). I prob wouldn't go back and can't really say I'd recommend it either.

Kevin V.

Yelp
I never put reviews on yelp unless I'm pissed lol. I have to be honest, tacos were good but just check twice your receipt. A lady in the front at the register be charging you extra stuff and when you go back for your money she will low key give you attitude and maybe your money back lol never ever coming back here again. Smh

Eliseo J.

Yelp
The food and drinks were sooo goood. Definitely going to return before my vacation is over. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the ambiance was very chill.

Cristina G.

Yelp
The food is delicious and they give good servings. The owners are very nice and friendly. The owner is the chef and the wife works at the counter. We've been going to this restaurant before pandemic but we still order to go to support their business. They recently remodeled the restaurant. It's modern and clean. It doesn't look like a Mexican restaurant but I love it. I will be able to bring friends to restaurant cuz it's clean and decent. Also, they haven't increase their prices and they even added more dishes on the menu. I would recommend this place because the food is authentic Mexican and very delicious and affordable.

Yelp
I've been into this little taqueria on Monument a few times and I always leave full and happy. Prices on tacos are really low and they have shrimp tacos! A couple of those and a bottle of Coke with a basket of chips with their delicious salsa for $12. It's a steal!
google avatar

H R.

Yelp
The chicken tacos are great! That's the only thing I like from here though! Asada wasn't very good and enchiladas were extremely small and plain. But there chicken is actually really good and I come back and get the same thing all the time! The staff is so sweet

Hector R.

Yelp
Tan malitos la verdad la carne tiene más grasa que carne, pero pues están baratos la verdad no regreso

Paul R.

Yelp
Excellant tacos, marinated pork also chicken. Street size with lots added. Baha fish: fish done very well, light, flaky. Sauce a little heavier, kind of like A Thousand Island. This was regular size and very good. And the refried beans...Muy Fabuloso! A little chunkier, so you know it's home made. Salsa was fresh for sure. Good, but were not that much intro salsa, so won't say more. Nice outdoor seating and great service. Don't expect instant service. Lunch on Sunday and 1 server. She was very friendly and accommodating. If you want instant, go to Taco Bell (no don't).
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Good quesa birria tacos. Decently priced and comes with consume. My kid loved their chicken and cheese quesadilla, which came with tons of fries on the side. The restaurant is tucked away to the right from the main plaza entrance. They have outdoor seating available.
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
Their carne asada is super bomb! The burritos are super juicy and full of flavor, and they even have shrimp! This place always seems overlooked to me (doesn't seem terribly busy when I go) but this is my #1 taqueria in Concord now.
google avatar

Miguel L.

Yelp
really good tacos i just tried birria tacos homemeade style good salsa /chips great customer service
google avatar

Yelp
The worst$27 for two burritos and one was wrong. Nastiest I've eaten in my life never go there God awful !!!!!

Dora S.

Yelp
I always go for the burritos but definitely known for the tacos! It has a good flavor and it won't disappoint

Yelp
EL Yahualica Tacos is in the rear end of the 2699 commercial building. eats: lengua & al pastor taco @1.85 , charged 4.20, voodoo math, i guess -lengua very tender, al pastor crunchy -regular tacos, not mini, mostly meat, little veggie -fresh homemade tortilla chips given, salsa too take outs: -definitely one of top mex eats in concord -menu pricey, seems to be worth it.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Fried Pork Taco is unreal. $2.00 tacos everyday is great but $4.75 beers is a little much. Food is great though and will be going back.
google avatar

Terri N.

Yelp
Perhaps you wondered too - Yahualica is a city in Mexico! And as it turns out, El Yahualica is the place to be in the city of Concord for some killer Mexican. Big words, I know. Any taqueria on Monument is drowning in heavy competition, so you gotta bring your A game. El Yahualica gets straight A's from me! I am saddened to admit I lived around the corner from this small but lovely joint for over two years without popping in! Despite the Monument address, it is not visible from the main drag unless you are coming from the Galindo direction. Luckily my BF found it while taking a walk one night, and our taco nights will never be the same! My first visit was on Cinco de Mayo, they had a steady stream of customers but weren't crowded. I was surprised such a small spot in a little strip mall was so pretty inside! Brightly colored walls and festive décor, but not in that 'Party City threw up in here' style that I've seen from other taquerias down the road. Very clean too, not even a crumb of tortilla chip on any table. Since it was a festive night, we pigged out a bit and ordered carnitas nachos, a carne asada quesadilla, and he ordered two carne asada tacos and I went with one chicken. Our order to go came out to $23 and change, not too shabby for such a delicious feast! We waited 7-8 minutes for our food, and as we waited the TV noise and soft background music were overwhelmed by a BLARING Mexican jam from the jukebox. It was hard not to giggle, it went from normal to nightclub just like that, and I didn't even see anyone go choose a song! Whether that just happens from time to time, or the employees had it rigged to get the party started on Cinco de Mayo, remains to be seen. Back home, we feasted! My chicken taco, street style with two corn tortillas, packed with juicy and wonderfully flavorful chicken, and topped with a yummy onion/cilantro salsa, was just killer! Best taco I've had on Monument hands down! The steak in the quesadilla packed just as much flavor, grilled and marinated so expertly. There was way more steak than cheese! The nachos, while yummy, weren't quite as stellar. Topped with sliced avocado instead of guac, no sour cream, not much cheese, more loaded with beans than anything. But the carnitas were very tasty. The chefs of El Yahualica are masters of meat! I'm so happy to have such a tasty place in walking distance from my apartment. Killer tacos only minutes away is a good and dangerous thing!

Tony S.

Yelp
The food here is good. The carnitas are especially good. The greatest drawback is the wait service. Waitress Patricia has got to be one of the worst waitresses that I have ever had. I don't know how she keeps this job. She never smiles and she seems like she's angry with you. Simple requests are looked upon with disdain, especially when asking to lower the volume on the jukebox. And in the end, don't expect a thank you or a good night.
google avatar

Jana A.

Yelp
It's nothing fancy just your typical Mexican restaurant on Monument Blvd. The only thing I didn't like was the menu. They gave me dirty menu that was falling apart and it was hard to read it. I asked the lady what is similar to ceviche and she recommended few things. I tried 2 dishes and they were really good. I asked for no onions but one dish had them so I picked them out. I also tried seafood soup and it was good. I had to spice it up a bit. I had a coupon so I tried this restaurant but I probably won't be coming back here again. It doesn't have the wow I want to come back factor.
google avatar

Dawnette N.

Yelp
Best food I mean very seasoned good quality and very flavorful I'm glad I found this restaurant
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
Right amount of spice on food some may say too spicy but to me who likes chilli it had a small kick, meats on my tacos (2 asada, 2 lengua (tongue), 1 pastor (pork) ) seasoned just right and cooked perfect all together made the perfect taco! they served fresh chips and salsa and the drink selection was great! I'm only visiting this town for training but will definitely come here whenever im back for training!
google avatar

Ben G.

Yelp
The best Mexican food ever. The place is simple but with amazing and flavorful Mexican food at a very good price.
google avatar

Gabriella R.

Yelp
So I went to this restaurant early today and I love Mexican food can't get enough of it. When I was ordering the women wrote nothing down and acted like she couldn't understand me. I was charged 14 dollars for a burrito. I told the women I didn't want sour cream or salsa twice. When I went home to eat my burrito their was sour cream on my burrito and weirdly enough no rice.

Delijah M.

Yelp
Everytime I have ate here I been nothing but disappointed . The service is horrible, the workers are racist, and the orders are never correct. If they are correct there either cold or just like Below I would never eat here again!!!!

Antonyuk T.

Yelp
Best Al Pastor burrito in the area! I'm just addicted to it. One Sunday evening we came and they were already closed, so decided I'd give another chance to the most highly rated Mexican food place close by... and once more just confirmed I don't want to try any other places than this one.
google avatar

Kylie R.

Yelp
My order: 4 carne Asada tacos with no onions to go Instead I got 3 carne asada tacos & 1 shrimp taco all loaded with onions I thought my order was simple enough not to mess up but I guess not. They also did not give me limes!! Wth, I don't plan on ever going back there

Ruby G.

Yelp
I love the sopes! I get them with no meat and they're my favorite. They have a nice outdoor seating area, but I got my order to-go and it was ready in less than 5 minutes. #tacotrail

Yelp
I wanted tacos, and tacos was what I got. I cannot believe, this restaurant has been down the street from my apartment for two years and I have failed to notice. What's wrong with me? The place was empty except me, a couple at the counter, and the employees. They have a menu above the counter, with pictures of all the food items. I finally found the tacos and for a $1.85 each I had three with carne asada. Plus a beer, it came out to just under ten dollars. Not bad. I took my beer and sat at a corner table. About one minute later, the woman who took my order brought over a basket of chips, and a cup of salsa. The chips and salsa are both homemade, so of course they taste amazing. Literally a few minutes after that she brings my tacos. Three beautiful tacos, two tortillas each like they should be, filled with steak, cilantro and salsa. Words cannot describe the flavor that is packed into these tacos. Juice from the steak just pours out as you take a bite. You'll end up licking the juice from your hands. The plate came with two radish slices, and a pickled jalapeno. I ate the radishes and about half of the jalapeno. I love me some spicy. Besides the food being amazing, the staff were great. Well I really only interacted with the woman taking my order, and a man who came in from outside and took my plate and beer for me. So I'm guessing he works there too. They have Mexican music playing and it's just the perfect volume to actually enjoy it. The walls decorated with Mexican decor, you would think you were actually in Mexico. All this combined made for a great experience, and I cannot wait to come back. Possibly tomorrow haha.
