Yelp
Electric Dough Pizza Co. arrived on the scene with plenty of buzz, so our expectations were high going in. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell a bit short.
Cocktails
The drinks were a miss for us. My espresso martini was poorly executed, lacking foam, served messily, and looking as if it had been sloshed around before reaching the table. The poor beans had nothing to really stay on. The Old Fashioned was better, though it leaned too sweet for my husband's taste.
Food
The highlight of the evening was, surprisingly, the meatballs. Though small, they were tender, flavorful, and topped with marinara, parmesan, and fresh basil. I'd definitely order them again.
The pizza, however, was underwhelming. Given their focus on "Roman style" pizza, I expected it to come out with a crisp crust. Instead, the pizza arrived lukewarm, with the cheese was already set and center of the pizza dough was pretty much room temperature. It gave the impression that the pizzas might be prebaked and reheated, and ours needed more time in the oven.
While Electric Dough Pizza Co. shows potential, it didn't quite live up to the hype. A few improvements in execution and attention to detail would help elevate the overall experience.
