Went for a specific lesbian event but the space is cute, coat check downstairs and doesn't feel crowded

It's always a great time here! There are plenty of bars and dancing space! Good mixed crowd, no drama! Everyone is always in a good mood and having a blast! Several VIP areas and service. Great for parties and groups. There are no gym shoes and pretty upscale.

If i could leave negative i would. This club has what look like all barley 18+. Greedy as can be. My friend got bottle service bday and wouldnt even let us finish bottle: Warning you to pick a different club for bday bottle service i would!!!!!! Music also mid!! We had a terrible time. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

A bunch of young kids in here first off the second off I don’t know what they’re spraying in the air. The mist or whatever it is immediately got me sick. I walked in and walked out as fast as I got there. I didn’t have a problem with security as I was VIP Parked on the next block over for $30. There was a line out the door be ready to be waiting if you’re not paying for VIP a bottle cost $750 for the table normal drinks are about $35 at the bar. It’s a really nice place. Just a generation who goes there is terrible nobody’s dancing everybody’s drunk and on their phones welcome to 2025. Overall, in a beautiful location, right off the highway and public transportation a block over there is no food service here but if you’re really hungry, they have food trucks out on the street and other venues are open still in the later hours so if you are older, this is not the place for you definitely not but if you’re young and just ambitious and ready to go well what are your best outfit because you got a lot of competition

The place was terrible. The staff was very rude and they made everyone wait outside in the Chicago winter because people would not organize themselves in a single file line. They claimed that the venue was closed while a event to which everyone in the line had a ticket for was going on. It is not worth your time, or your money.

Went on Valentine’s Day. The DJ was terrible, did not know how to transition between songs and really killed the vibe. I’m pretty sure I blew an eardrum here too because of how deafening loud the music was. Both my boyfriend’s ears and mine were ringing when we left and I couldn’t even hear my Uber driver. It’s two days later now and one ear is still hurting. I’ve been to multiple clubs in the area that can get pretty loud and never had this problem before. I didn’t buy any drinks because of how insanely expensive they were. We even paid $8 for water and got a lot of attitude from the bartenders when we asked why we couldn’t get a glass of water instead of a tiny overpriced bottle. There’s plenty of nicer and cheaper clubs in the area with better DJ’s.

Electric hotel was electric!! I’ve been here twice with friends and we’ve had a blast both times. The music is fire and they have a great atmosphere on the dance floor.

Lamest club in Chicago. They stole my ID and Credit card. They have some bartenders here that can’t close a tab or just not lose peoples cards and IDs. Went around the club all night asking for my stuff back and even my emails the next day have gone no where. Great place to get your stuff stolen at and they have zero mgmt on the floor willing to help if there’s any problems big or small.

I had a table under one of the bottle girls Emily who is on a FB group with me. I haven't been out to the clubs in a long while. I arrived early at 10 when they opened so I wouldn't have to deal with the line. I read previous reviews about aggressive door staff and rude service. My experience was the exact opposite. The door guys were respectful. No cover. We had a table right in the dance floor. The guest DJ was awesome. I watched as the club went from empty to pretty crowded but we had our own little area to retreat too- we danced all night (all girls). They comped us a FEW bottles including rose champagne and the manager of the bottle service area was such a nice woman. The service was Incredible. Super fun night. Most people at the club are very young. Lots of young pretty girls with cute dresses. I was possibly the oldest club goer and didn't know what to expect. I have to say throughout my 20s when I went to clubs all over the world I never was treated so well. It was a blast! We stayed out until 4am just dancing. Beside the hangover and swore legs from dancing --- it's the best weekend I've had in quite awhile. Btw the bottle girls are drop dead gorgeous and look like Victoria secret models with their garter belt outfits. Some of the guys at the club were trying to talk to me and my friends but they were too young for my group - we had fun on our own !

the bouncer was disgustingly racist. my friends and I waited in line for an event for over an hour, when we finally got to the front of the line, the bouncers took our IDs and accused us for being in line for the second time. we were shocked, we offered to pull out our uber receipts and told them to scan our IDs yet they pointed to the three east asians in our group and told security to escort us out. our friend called the bouncer out for being racist and he said "get your liberal ass out of here". NEVER EVER has this happened to us in our previous clubbing experiences especially given that I had my 22nd birthday there 5 days ago. we are owed an apology for the tickets we spent money on and for the service of the staff.

I came here for an event and at first the line to get in was very slow. The people at the door seemed annoyed at us and were complaining about our group size - maybe there was a miscommunication? Either way, we got in fine. It was pretty empty when we arrived but it was also around like 10:30 PM. The bar featured two bars on both sides of the dance floor, with tables in the middle. I ordered a margarita, vodka soda, and rum and coke. The margarita was so yummy, maybe one of the best I've ever had. Also, coat check is cash only! There was an ATM but it has a withdraw fee so plan accordingly.

Not worth the $20. Shit DJ, shit vibe, nobody dances or mingles. And the person at the door first said it was a private event... until someone else came in and apparently gave him an update. Won't be coming back here!

This place kinda eh in my opinion. The girls in our group got in for free while the guys had to pay $20 each (they said it was definitely not worth the cover.) The dance floor is small because most of the space is taken up by tables + bottle service. The DJ played remixes of some cringe songs including Crazy Frog. The crowd was a mix of people in their 20s and 30s; we were dressed casually but a lot of people were wearing clubbing outfits and heels.

The person at the door was impertinent and insolent. Even though my friends and I had bought tickets, he refused to let us in. Despite us trying to respond to the situation in a calm and collected manner, he reacted rudely and angrily. Will not be returning.

Came with an all girl group of friends. He let every white person in and when it was my friend and I left in line. He refused to let us in. (I was the only mixed one and my friend was African American) he started dragging my friend down the Alley and began choking her. This all happened so fast and for absolutely no reason at all. Another friend in my group tried to get him off of her he punched her in the face. Management came out side and the manger (a lady) said she didn't care because she's been through worse.... Yeah idk and apparently they do this to woman all the time. Haven't heard of men being attacked. This doesn't even sound real but trust me it was. I'm still in disbelief.

The security at the door was extremely rude and disrespectful with no care in the world that these are the club's customers. We were also charged a $20 cover fee despite having paid for a table, which makes no sense. The people in front of us paid $10. Additionally, inside there wasn't even that many people which definitely did not make it worth the money. I bought ONE drink here (Gin & Tonic) and was charged close to $100 by the bartender who chose to tip themselves and thought I wouldn't notice. Every worker here was rude, and I will never ever be back. I left early because I wasn't having a great time and it was my roommate's sorority sister's birthday. When my roommate walked me out to my Uber, security harassed her saying she was too drunk to go back in despite the fact she wasn't. She ended up having to run past him, lol. AVOID!

I love the Electric Hotel, much better than most clubs out there including Vegas, New York. I especially enjoyed DJ Kula's late night mixes, he is certainly the top of his game!

Person at the gate was extremely rude and mean to me and my group of friends. Not safe for women. Friend got her phone stolen here. Have had better experiences at sound bar and the like.

I got roofied at this bar last night and I am almost certain the bartender played a role in that. I myself am a bartender and I'm very conscious with my drinks and who I get them from, where I put them, etc. There's no way anyone could've spiked my drink if the bartender didn't have something to do with it. BE CAREFUL HERE

Most racist place I have ever been. The bouncers think they have the most power even though we paid for a table they made us pay AGAIN... absolutely horrible horrible horrible service. Talked to the manager Dash and he was very nice and wanted to talk another day and let us in. Music inside was great however this is the most disrespectful, bias club in River North. What happened to class? Let's atleast retain that in River North in Chicago. If you want to feel like the ugliest group that has to pay $20 girls and guys time after time while other groups get felt up by managers and get let in for free then this is the bar for you. If you enjoy getting stared at and judged by what you look like then absolutely go here. If you want to be discriminated against and laughed at for saying that then ABSOLUTELY go here. The only reason this is a two and not a one is because of Dash the manager, who atleast heard my story time and time again. I will absolutely be calling him and discussing how this club could improve and I will post again if they change.

If I could give zero stars I would. However, considering that they do have some pretty good music and I was able to see one of the hot Asian DJ Animale over the weekend, this place deserves at least 1 star. My friend and I came to the after-party for North Coast festival at Electric Hotel a little after 12. We waited for a while for the top DJs to start playing. It was pretty nice to see Animale up and close but towards the end of the night when DJ ookay started playing things started getting a bit weird. My friend and I were leaning against one of the wooden pillars in the VIP lounge when one of the table service girls stampede over my feet. Having stood for a couple of hours prior at the festival and walking back to downtown afterwards, I was already exhausted. It hit me like a lightening, my feet weren't fast enough to escape her ferocious steps as she pounced over to get her VIP guests their order. Just when I thought I would let her know what she had done and tapped her by saying ' you stepped on me', she flung her head around and yelled towards me, screaming ' GET THE F*** out of my way!' I quickly told my friend what had just happened and she asked me if I was alright while confronting the service girl (her name is Caitlyn). Being the stuck up and unpleasant person she is, she pounced on my friend upon returning to the table area and shoved her towards the bar. Luckily, my friend had a wall of guys behind her to catch the almost catastrophic fall or I don't know what would have happened!!! I was astounded by what had happened but decided to not react quickly and stayed calm. I'm not sure what her role is at this nightclub exactly, but being in the service industry, especially on a VIP host/server level, she acted unprofessional, biased, condescending and disrespectful to patrons. I am assuming this likely occurred because we are females and of Asian ethnicity that she acted this way. I frequent several nightclubs in the river North area on weekends and never in my life have I received such appalling service and attitude from anyone. Knowing that there are little chances the club will do anything about this ( her being the VIP server/host rolling in many dollars bills and protecting their staff), I am still outraged and urgently need to let other patrons who frequent or will be frequenting this establishment to know about her behavior towards ANYONE not part of her HIGH-END table service as well as to warn anybody who tries to get a table with her to stay FAR FAR away! She is shady and does not deserve your MONEY, TIME and ATTENTION!. Be warned! Last but not least, another part of this club that was not to our liking were the securities at the door. Despite both securities at the side alley entryway and the entrance to be agitating and short-tempered towards club patrons, the guys checking people in for the ticketed part of the night were extremely offensive. I find that as a guest at your establishment and also being a female, one should at least have the courtesy to communicate politely, especially if there is a reason that the guest might be objected and need to be stepped aside for further assistance. I strongly encourage the owner of this club to re-examine the staff they have on hand and to carefully inspect if their staff is meeting the policy and procedures that need to be met while serving their patrons.

If I had the option to put zero stars I would. The bouncer (his name is Mike) is very rude, and very disrespectful. Mike basically stole my money at the front & I handed him a $50 to pay for my boyfriend because he told him $20 then charged me $20 when he said I was free, I was a frequent coming every weekend with a table. Mike charges based on how pretty you are and what you are wearing. When you go in, there is barely any room to walk to get anywhere. Drinks are outrageous paid $50 for two drinks (we got nothing fancy nor special). The smoke they blast makes you extremely light headed and loopy. Then proceed to get kicked out for having a water bottle, when they let us in with it. We got told we were lying about it, when we weren't. The bouncer, Mike, also proceeded to lie about it too. It isn't worth the hype, and the place is not nice at all. Never going back. Don't waste your money here!

This Saturday I went to this nightclub and I spent a horrible night, as the security crew hit my friend, and left him almost unconscious , and really hurt, and also took money from a bag he was holding for me, which had around $3000 dollars

If I could give this 0 stars I would. If you want to have a horrible night, face discrimination for being non-white by the bouncer, and feel bad for not fitting into the modern standard of beauty (aka white and skinny), then go here. We were really upset by the fact that they clearly let in who they wanted for free and charged everyone else $20. Who they were letting in were clearly white, skinny girls showing lots of skin in the cold night. It was also clearly a fire hazard inside. It was extremely crowded and people were pushing and shoving eachother. Almost like another Travis Scott waiting to happen. It was not a fun night. Also we noticed there were no black people there but their music was appropriating black culture. Not worth it to come here. There are way better places in the area. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

The best time of our life! The vibe, music, and staff were fun and energetic. Super clean and safe. Alex, main bouncer, was great, professional and protective. We will be going back forever!

My friends and I had an awesome time at Electric Hotel. The bartenders, security, bottle service gals, and wait staff were so courteous and friendly! The music was so fun to dance to, and even the other people we met at the club were super nice and fun. The ambiance was really cute too.

The bouncers love a power trip and make you feel so small to get into their little club that's cramped with subpar music. When my friend asked if girls had to pay cover the bouncer said "you guys fighters for equal rights right?" What is this dude on. The employees shove you out of their way to get to flash their flashlights on the crowd and ruin the mood completely. Poor employees and the music doesn't make up for their subpar service

Absolutely horrible. I had bought a table with two bottles and as we're finishing the bottle a server comes and tells us that we need to leave because we're not ordering anymore and they have more people coming. First, this was a LIE because I was speaking with the bottle service director and he assured me we didn't have to go and that we would be okay staying here, ( we were buying drinks from the bar still), then Security comes to our table saying one of our friends is too "Drunk" and he had to leave. Funny to say that he was a person of color ( bc race shouldn't matter) and the security guard was one of the most disrespectful people you can talk to. Just because they're security she thought they can do anything they want just because. I had to keep talking to Anthony, the host, who was the only one that actually helped all night. IF YOURE PAYING FOR A TABLE YOU SHOULDN'T GO THROUGH ALL THIS Trouble TO KEEP YOUR TABLE WHEN YOURE NOT CAUSING ANY PROBLEMS. TRASH AMBIANCE, TRASH SERVICE, HORRIBLE WORKER COMMUNICATION. Pay attention to the reviews about the bouncers here. The main bouncer of the evening that I saw, Josh, is definitely shady seeming. I know clubs have to keep a good girl to guy ratio and all, but I've seen that done in such a more methodical "fair" way. He was letting certain women and men in and not others. Taking cash in a strange way. It was definitely along the lines of what others wrote, obvious power trip and discrimination rampant. Some of the other bouncers that weren't in charge actually seemed nice and had good energy. Too bad that guy had all the power. I won't ever go there again.

Absolutely agree with these 1-2 star posters. Bouncers we're by far the worst part of this place, asking who you knew, what you were waiting for...is this a nightclub or a frat party? Fantastic music and decent enough service, though. If you can deal with the douchey front door losers, you will have a good time.

I went here for a One More Time Daft Punk Tribute Band event. The Facebook event listed it starting at 10pm and encouraged people to come early. I didn't find out until 2am that night, after being there for hours, that the band would not play until 2:30am or 3am. The event promotion was fraudulent and clearly a ploy to get people to their venue earlier to sell drinks and whatnot. Additionally, while standing and watching the first DJ I had someone grope my waist. I instinctively brushed them off of me and looked to see who it was, and it was one of the security people. I looked at him and said, "Please don't touch me." He then yelled in my face, "You need to calm the fuck down." So there's that.

DONT GO HERE! SAVE URSELF I reserved a table for a event and when I got to the entrance they told me I had to pay a extra fee. I was confused considering everything was booked, I was confused because they had let the group before us in NO problem it was young girls with what looked like fake ID and jeans on, then I was told that I had to pay because I was "thicker" and I was confused because what does that have to do with my reservation! The door guys are all disgusting and rude! Please SAVE your money and go somewhere else!!! Over priced to get in as well!!!

Was escorted out of this bar for being gay this past weekend. The bouncers couldn't give me or anyone I was with a good reason as to why I was being directed out. I wasn't even wasted, as I'm not a sloppy drunk even when highly intoxicated. We were all there to see Dom Dolla and next thing you know they're walking be out the door. Will never be returning to this bar. Thought this kind of stuff only happened in Alabama.

If I could give the place 0 stars I would. After a night out with friends I was robbed by the staff here. Please do not let their security team make a fool of you. They assured me I was ok after losing my friends and the head of security I believe Jaydi or mike was very aggressive and hands on when I was just trying to leave the club. They staff emptied my pockets to check for weapons and returned my wallet with 0 cash. I would NEVER recommend this place EVER. Police report has been filed and I would not suggest spending any amount of money at this place. They are greedy and manipulative. Please take the time to read the rest of the reviews about this place because clearly there's an issue if there are this many BAD reviews. Fuck electric hotel

If you want exploitation and a horrible night out, then go here. Place was beyond empty on a Saturday night (1am). Guys had to pay a $20 cover (which is normal but the place was a ghost town) , there was a "mandatory coat check-in" despite having a jacket as part of the outfit, and if you wanted a water it was $6 -- unreal. You're better off going to a different bar or staying home. The only plus side was no cover for females, although from previous posts below why youd wanna come here with such a lackluster management team - that's beyond me. place was a buzzkill.

Overall summary: I have never gone back to this place after this one night. The security staff here is horrible. My friend needed to be kicked out (not saying she wasn't in the wrong), but they way they threw her out was so horrible. She had bruises on her body the next morning. Now I will say my friend was not in the right here; she was arguing with another girl and did need to leave and go home. However, in an instant, two huge men grabbed and threw her to the ground (she was fully a 5'2, 21 year old student at the time) and started dragging her across the floor. She was really drunk, so naturally she resisted a bit (because who wouldn't when two huge, grown men are attacking you?) and they basically just dragged/threw her body across the club. My other friends were all so scared. I was begging the security staff to just let me talk to her and calm her down and then we would all leave. But they refused and just kept dragging her and throwing her around, with her boobs now fully exposed in the club. They had three men on her now, and a few other staff members surrounding her. They were about to throw her out in front of a whole line of people with her boobs and other areas exposed! I begged them to just let me pull her dress up and they let me do that, but they fully just kept dragging and screaming at her past the line. It was so bad, everyone in the line was in shock. They threw her against the fence and said they were going to call the police on her? But then they let her go (probably because they would have gotten in trouble for literal physical assault lmao....) Honestly don't know if physical assault charges could have been pressed because my friend did have bruises on her neck and legs in the morning. I'm not sure what they're problem was, but they did NOT have to kick her out in that manner. The situation could have been handled so much better, without exposing and hurting my friend. I will NEVER go back here because of that. I get it; sometimes they play fun music and have good DJs, but there are so many other clubs in Chicago. For real, SO MANY. Don't choose to go to establishments that treat women and guests like this. Overall, horrifying experience.

coming to the Windy city i was eager to get my night started and have a great time. if that's what you are looking for in chicago then electric hotel is the last place you want to go. classy my ass. we came for the disco balls and that was all that we got. overcharged for for the first drink and then raised the price the second time i got the same thing. someone had their panties in a twist no tip for sharty.

I've never encountered more disrespectful bouncer than my visit at Electric Hotel. Benjamin was so rude to us when we had a table. Wanted to love this place but the staff outside was so intolerable. Will not be back due the inconsideration of the staff.

Yelp: I have been going back and forth if I should even bother posting this review , since management should be aware of who they hire to serve their customers. However, I write this to warn future guests. I was visiting for Halloween and went to Electric Hotel with some friends. Upon approaching the bar I was greeted with "hello daddy" by a male bartender who proceeded to berate me about buying shots for random women standing by the bar that I did not even know. I agreed since I was put on the spot, I didn't want to look cheap, and after all I was there to have a good time! The bartender, who I learned was named Alpi, proceeded to serve shots of 1942 tequila, and for those not familiar-- it's $40 a shot. Now I can afford to pay that, however I am not a tequila drinker and he clearly did that to scam me. He never once asked what kind of shot I would like. As the night continued, he kept OFFERING me and random people shots and made sure to pour them for himself as well (still only pouring 1942) and putting them all on my tab when I didn't even order them. I ordered 5 vodka sodas total and my bill at the end of the night was over $600 and on top of that there was gratuity added. When he gave me my bill he argued with me that I ordered all those shots, which was not the case. I wonder why Electric Hotel allows their staff to rob and take advantage of customers. I will not be back and will warn others of buying drinks from Alpi. He has zero morals and integrity . Shame on you Electric for employing such people.

Stopped in late (2am-ish) on a Friday night (they were open til 4am that night). Music was good, hip hop, rap, top 40, your typical club music. Bartenders were nice. The entrance is behind the building.

Great spot! Went there earlier this month with friends - good vibe, solid drinks, no hassle!

I was impressed with the kindness of the staff, and blown away With the door personnels' overall authority and intellect. Tough when needed, good at his job, and up to date with current laws and ordinances pertaining to cook county and the electric hotel. After going outside to smoke, this person made a point to talk with me. He made my night an excellent one after helping me.

It's hilarious when people give clubs 1-2 stars for things like bottle service, crowds and high drink prices...these are all things to expect from a typical dance club - go hang out at a dive bar or a more music-oriented club without the tables. For what it is as a bottle service club, Electric Hotel is a decent experience. I've never had to wait too long at the bar for a drink and they have solid DJ bookings from time to time.

Atmosphere, music and bartenders are all on point. Have had multiple nights of fun at this venue and will be going back.

Did a wristband deal from 11pm - 1am. (Perk was no cover and no line) that's a joke. Not worth it. Go ANYWHERE else!!

This place is horrible . When it comes to security, they are very ignorant , one specific person who thinks he's in charge of the whole club who's basically 47 Years old . His name PIERRE . Pete , either way He goes by a few names. He didn't want to let me and my friend in and for no reason other than he used to live with my ex boyfriend. And that's very unprofessional and rude for someone who is a manager of a club. I felt like I was in high school trying to get in somewhere and I am 26 years old.It's honestly ridiculous I don't know how he even works here already got fired from other popular clubs like underground, joy district and prysm to name a few. He should not get a word on who goes in and goes out there is no reason for him not to let me in because of a personal issue it's honestly ridiculous and embarrassing and the Chicago Club scene to be going through this.

Horrible place! Got told at the door bottle service was minimum of $500. When leaving was told there would be a $600 total charge because there was a 2 bottle minimum. No one not once told us anything about the bottle minimum. I talk to one of the guys in charge and he says ok I'll charge $500, comes back charging me $600 claiming taxes which is na. Go elsewhere but here.

Wasn't impressed with this place at all.. tries copy other clubs such as prysm but seems to do a horrible job at it.. layout is very small and the music they play is like 90s throwbacks.. if i wanted to hear 90s throw backs i can just go to morretties and pay way less for drinks.. also managed to give me someone elses credit card and charge fraudulent purchases to my account.. place is trash

At some point in the night I looked around and realized I was surrounded by strippers. Nothing against strippers, I just think the hotel should be more open about what type of establishment it is. Music was great.
