Best Dive Bars in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Surrounded by an ever-growing population of shiny new high rises, Eleventh Street Pub keeps it casual and real in Midtown for those seeking good old-fashioned pub grub, including wings, burgers, and bowls of PEI mussels and fries, cold beer, and sports on the TV. The Best Dive Bars In Atlanta

"Eleventh Street Pub is a tiny dive bar with almost none of the dive bar staples. There’s no jukebox, no darts, and no pool table—probably because there isn’t any spare space to put ‘em. And instead of spending moolah on a new flashy interior to try and compete with the surrounding buzzy Midtown spots, Eleventh Street simply staples bills from all over the world onto the wooden rafters above the bar. We’ll gladly staple a few of our own dollars up there to bask in this charming, small town bar atmosphere in the heart of Midtown. When we need a food fix the smash burger with two patties and onions caramelized with Coca-Cola is our favorite order. " - juli horsford

Google
Lovely little bar with a more intimate vibe. Most seating is a long the bar area with some tables to the side. Large drinks menu, but no draft beers. The Original Sin cider I had was very refreshing and ideal for a hit summers evening. The menu has a limited offering. The Quesadilla I had was good. The vibe felt friendly and staff were attentive. I will try and visit again.

Google
Amazing little pub! They are a smaller Resturant with a HUGE personality! Had a blast at music bingo Tuesday!! The wings were perfect!!

Google
The cheese pull on the macaroni is put of this world. The Buffalo chicken wrap has some pleasantly crispy bits, but was otherwise a bit soggy. The ranch was a bit runny. Otherwise a pretty good place. I am not sure if we're welcome to seat ourselves and they were a bit understaffed so I sat at the bar, though. I'll be back to try again. The bartender was cool.

Google
Solid pub. Came in around 1 pm and everyone was laughing and having a ball. I got the chicken tenders and they were great. Would have stayed all day if I didn't have somewhere to be.

Google
Okay neighborhood bar, nothing wrong here, and nothing very special either. Best part for us is that they are open later than other area bars and restaurant, so we could eat at 10:45 PM upon arriving in Atlanta. Near several hotels. Small place, some call it a “dive” in the reviews here, to me too clean and nice to be a dive, sort of a “near USA dive” in my book. Wings were good and a fair price at $9.95 for 10 including blue cheese dressing and celery. Looks like no beer on draft, all cans, one point deducted for that, pubs have draft beer people! Server was nice, a tad forgetful, and yet fairly attentive given they were very busy. Scene: It’s noisy, lots of nice young people who have already lost their hearing and thus they don’t realize they are unnecessarily/ comically shouting at the person next to them, it’s free entertainment for other patrons and juicy to unavoidably hear their formerly private matters at max volume. Also fyi there was a super creepy or drunk or both guy staring at one unlucky woman at the bar for 15 minutes straight before she fled, point is that this bar has interesting scenes which is a plus.

Google
Absolutely a fun spot!. Warm cozy local place in the city. Didn't want to give five until I went back a second time. Which I will.

Google
One of the best things about Atlanta! Ordered to go after midnight on 7/8/25 and the server was soooo awesome! She was pleasant and brought our food out when it was ready and she was just so pleasant the whole time. Wish I remembered her name!

Google
Jay at the 11th Street Pub is like the Michelangelo of mixology—except his masterpiece is a perfectly poured pint, not a ceiling! Walk in, and Jay’s already got your drink halfway made, like he’s reading minds or just knows you’re predictable. He’s got jokes smoother than the whiskey he serves and a knack for making strangers feel like old friends. Cheers to Jay—Atlanta’s favorite bartender and part-time therapist!

Yelp
Came here for a drink and a bite to eat with friends and had a great experience. It was around 10 pm and even though it was busy, the bartender came right over to take our order both times. The beer selection was good, including several cans and bottles of craft and some domestic to choose from. I got the beer of the month, Monopolio, which was $5, as well as a side of Mac n cheese which was absolutely delicious. Their food menu is small though. Overall I'd come back!

Yelp
This is such a great pub!! I would love to give it a 5 but since I didn't actually have a drink I can't rate that! I think it would be odd to give a five. However, that said, the service was great - Mike was extremely attentive and the food came up fresh, hot, and quickly. We just made a last limited decision to eat here since we frequent the place across the street and they were closed. This is a pub and the vibe is exactly that. Come in, make new friends, share a table or bar stool and enjoy. We will return and from the looks of the bar and the service downstairs- I'll have that drink and hope to give a 5

Yelp
Now, I was gonna give "Eleventh Street Pub" three stars, until I tried the food. The place is a hole in the wall with character, just the way I like it. Wood paneling walls large square floor tiles, this place fits in with Atlanta's history. The bartender seemed to be the life of the party. However he talks a lot, and easily forget my drink too long. He made up for it with his amaretto sour drink. They used home made sour mix and my brother said it was incredible. After, we ordered and waited for the food. The wings came out first and they were not that good. They were supposed to be mango habanero, but they just tasted like flavored hot sauce. While I waited for my burger, I found out Charlie Barkley, is a regular, that's pretty cool. Later when the burgers came, that's what made the difference. The tater tots and french fries were great! The burger also had plenty of toppings and cheese. It tasted amazing. So, I'm glad I didn't judge a book by its cover, I just wish they had better tasting seltzer. Trust me, that matters to me.

Yelp
When you envision your neighborhood dive you immediately think of a dimly lit, well worn watering hole with hospitable service and strong pours. Sadly, eleventh street pub lacks the most important variable in this equation - the service. Hate to say this but the service here is very inconsistent. Tonight, I would describe it as abysmal. It was bad enough where I likely will not return. Tried awkwardly to make eye contact with the disheveled bartender for at least 20 minutes (the previous 10 were at the "tables" upstairs, where another group was as equally confused on how service worked at this place after no one came to check on us). I ended up having to leave purely out of self commiseration and personal philosophy. Seriously, a dive bar where you have to wait 30 minutes for drinks??? Giving a generous pity star for the fact that when this place functions well it is a good time.

Yelp
Been an Atlalien for 32 years and just got around to trying this place. Did I mention that I'm a burger connoisseur? 10 for the burger! Didn't even need ketchup!!!! My fiancé had the Lemon Pepper wings...he prefers wet over dry rub but said they were good. Great hole in the wall spot with Buckhead prices Will go back because the burger WAS ALL THAT!

Yelp
We loved it and would go here regularly if we lived in Atlanta! Very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend. Didn't eat but food looked awesome. We came here after dinner all three nights we were in town and walked 19 minutes to get here! Ubered back to hotel!

Yelp
This is a classic old school pub. The first time I've felt comfortable in Atlanta. The service is fast and friendly. Jay is great. Highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
This pub is basically one of my go-to restaurants when I'm having a case of the late night munchies. It's not very big on the inside and tends to be super packed on the regular but if you can find a seat and order some food, the options usually do not disappoint. On my most recent visit, I was sad to learn that they recently changed their menu and eliminated a lot of my favorite offerings like the Garlic Parmesan Wings and the Linguine Bolognese. However, the bartender informed me that they had a special going on with Jerk Chicken and Rice and Peas. Being an islander, I was curious but cautious so I ordered the special and also an order of the Cajun Wings as backup. The Jerk Chicken was actually very flavorful and spicy, though it was too "wet" (IYKYK) and the Rice and Peas was also tasty but overcooked and too mushy. I did enjoy the coleslaw that came with the dish as it balanced out the spiciness from each bite of the Jerk Chicken. The Cajun Wings were perfectly cooked but the flavor had a sweet finish that I was not expecting so I probably would not get those again. All in all, this spot is always a reliable option to satisfy your midnight cravings and I will continue to keep it in the rotation as such.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to watch the World Cup and went for the 11th St pub, we'd been eying it for a bit. The room isn't too big, it is very characteristic and has a lot of fun details on the ceiling and walls. Food don't take long and was well cooked and tasty. Had a cider, nothing to say about the rest of the bar choices, it did seem to have quite a few excellent choices of beverages and liquor. Service was a bit slow, mostly as there were very few staff members. Nothing to deter us from returning.

Marc M.

Yelp
Just left there without being served. This is the second time I have walked in, sat down, waited 10 minutes and left. Not a single acknowledgement that I was even there. Also it was not really busy so I would expect better service.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday to watch some football games we sat at a table across from the bar. This is a soccer bar so it wasn't as packed as I expected to to be for a Sunday football. The bartender was the only one helping everyone so we ordered our drinks and food with him. A few hours later a waitress came and she began to take out drink ours orders. We sat on the wooden tables that was a bit wobbly but it was fine while we ate. Unfortunately, it wasn't great when I got my drink because after the waitress but the drink down I went to grab it and the whole drink spilled. It was l over the table and on me, the waitress came with a rag to clean the table and me a rag to dry myself. Overall, this was a cool bar just be careful if you sit on the high wooden tables.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! Such good vibes even on weekdays. Even the servers and bartenders have such a friendly attitude, such a pleasure. It's so lively and great to just chill and hangout. It definitely gets really loud and it's kinda hard to get a table. But I've always enjoyed my time here. Love the decor too! Their kitchen stays open pretty late and they have such great bar food!

Yelp
Came here to get a meal after leaving the High Museum. We sat at a table upstairs and grabbed a few drinks with our food. The drinks were good. However, the food was just ok. We got mussels, a jerk bacon quesadilla and fries. The food was bad but I didnt taste the bacon on the quesadilla. It was mostly spice without tons of flavor. However, the fries were pretty good. If I was in the area then i'd go back but would try different items.

Yelp
We stopped in to get a quick drink before heading to an event. The bartender was very friendly and his service was great.

Yelp
A throwback kind of bar. Great place to watch the game and enjoy a beer, a good hamburger and meet people

Yelp
Bar is amazing-- drink selection amazing. However, one bartender 5/29/24, accused me of identity fraud when using my PREGNANT FIANCÉ'S card (which I pay the bill on). After providing the bartender with evidence of my fiancé being willing to call and clarify, the bartender proceeded to tell me (I have been a patron for 4 years at this bar) that this "sketchy payment" would not be accepted anywhere else. When people are procreating and getting married they tend to merge finances. I tipped her more than my tab; her disrespect and bad attitude is her issue--hopefully she can stop losing 11th st. Pub business. After fully acknowledging she was doing her due diligence-- I was still treated as an unwanted patron. I wouldn't bother leaving a review if I hadn't spent thousands here-- that I could walk a few hundred yards to Mac's (or 20 feet to SteamHouse -Lounge), to get for much, much cheaper. --someone who lives in walking distance.

Yelp
I am so pleased with the amazing service I got from 11th street pup. I ordered lunch for my colleagues today and they were very accommodating with my large order. Everyone I worked with said it was the best wings they've had in a while! 10/10 recommend! My husband and I have also dined here a few times and are always pleased the friendly service we get every time.

Yelp
I used to live next door and would come here after a long day of work on the weekends. All of the bartenders are friendly, welcoming and Locals with lots of great suggestions! Ask for Jen to make you're drink if you're there in a weekend! Plus the kitchen is open til 2 and I recommend the mussels or Bolognese ( yes this is good bar food) 10/10 my fav hole in the wall in Midtown

Yelp
Great little sports bar in the Atl. Food was good. Many beers to choose from. Service was amazing. Brussel spouts were amazing.
google avatar

Catherine T.

Yelp
What a fantastic hole in the wall! I was in Atlanta for two nights and we went here both nights. The first was more wild, the second more laid back. Both times was awesome. The staff were friendly and fun, they really took care of us despite being how busy they were. The place was small, but it was a general pub vibe and full of life! Food was good, drinks kept flowing. Locals said this was a common place, so I believe it. I enjoyed it for sure!
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
Like others have mentioned, the customer service here is terrible. Of the beers we ordered, more than 5 were unavailable. My card was taken "because they needed to put a hold on our order" and I was charged $25 (as a separate charge in addition to my actual bill) - so look out for that. We tried to order food, but our server said he was taking drink orders first (it was not busy, btw). He finally came back 20 mins later and seemed annoyed that we didn't want to eat there anymore. I'd recommend going somewhere else.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to watch basketball. What you may not realize is that they have a phenomenal food selection - their Caesar Salad is always great and if you are looking for comfort food their Chicken Pot Pie is amazing! Great beer selection and their team at the bar and in the kitchen make it even better!

Yelp
We usually come here all the time because it's right across the street and undoubtedly have great food ! But yesterday we went around 8 pm and there was a different bartender , he looks mixed with a black beard. HE WAS SO RUDE. Forgot my ID for a drink and I explained I come all the time , I know the other server but he was giving us such a hard time that I understood the rules BUT a white Man sits right beside us and the bartender gives him a drink with no problem WITHOUT ASKING FOR ID. Then has the audacity to say "yeah bro this is different i know him idk you , you can't tell me how to do my job. It's simple courtesy if you deny a couple of color for service, you give that SAME treatment to the next guest or AT least don't do that right in my face. He then said you know what y'all can leave cause I'm not serving you. I've NEVER been so blatantly disrespected in my life. FIRE HIM .
google avatar

Amiee L.

Yelp
Sometimes when you are out of town and you find a cool spot - it's the best. I was in the ATL for 5 days and probably stayed around the same area to have dinner (Midtown) and ran into this place. Caleb is great & so is Haley. They had a great service & Caleb is a knack of making cool drinks. The food here is good too - and on Thursday they have $2 tacos! You should stop by to say "hi" and have a drink and say "hi"

William W.

Yelp
Excellent Bacon Cheese Burger and attentive staff. Good selection of liquors and beer.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
We went to this place many times but recent experiences were so poor we decided we would never return. The beer selection is solid and it's really the only place in Midtown with late night food. Unfortunately we do not feel welcome. I love a low key bar with a lot of regulars and service industry professionals as patrons. But we were treated like outsiders who didn't belong even though we are midtown residents who had been to this place for extended stays some 12 times before. The bartenders seemed out-out with a basic requests. Like we were expecting too much by just ordering. Late night there are too many instances of grossly intoxicated and obnoxious patrons and inappropriate behavior toward women. We've been when it was enjoyable but who wants to go to a spot where it's a toss up if you'll feel welcome and comfortable?
google avatar

Dewey H.

Yelp
This bar at the corner of 11th St. and W. Peachtree St. is the neighborhood sports pub. It's small but a great spot to be with your friends or meet new friends. The staff was friendly and efficient, but most of all the food is more than you ever expected. The portions are great and it's a level up from normal pub food. There's honestly nothing on the menu that is bad. Always ask what the specials are as they may be too busy and forget to tell you! Otherwise, they're written on a chalkboard behind the bar, but not visible if you're not near it. Get there early if you want a spot at the bar. Truly one of Atlanta's great neighborhood bars.

Malia Y.

Yelp
We were staying in Atlanta for a trip and stopped in here on a whim to bar hop. Food was fresh and quick. Honestly our whole experience was made by our server Buckley. He gave us many recommendations for bars and was friendly, prompt, and funny. Highly recommend this as a stop as a vacation or as a local!

Court W.

Yelp
I recommend the Eleventh Street Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of "Tots". The bartenders were friendly and easy to talk to. A nice little place to sit and relax for a while.
google avatar

Kei H.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff. Ordered extra wet wings, and they're literally the driest wings I've ever had. And when we called to speak to them about it, the waitress copped an attitude like "these guys have been working all day" -- okay? Me too. We had an entire convo with the guy who took our order about how wet we wanted the wings. They did the opposite.

Scott C.

Yelp
Great service and food. The smash burger and chicken pot pie are my favorites. Good place to watch the Braves and Cubs and have some good conversation.

Gwendolyn R.

Yelp
I went in to order a chicken pot pie on 9/23/2022 around 1:35PM. I witnessed the bartender taking shots. He would pour himself a shot in a small cup and walk toward the kitchen and turn his back to the patrons. He would come back in and throw the cup away. He is an average guy with brown hair. I found on my bank statement I was charged $55.00 for a chicken pot pie. Every time I call the guy will not give me his name and hangs up on me. I will get my money back from the bank, but the owner has a larger problem on his hands.

Yelp
Needed to find a quick lunch spot and found the 11th St Pub. It's a small bar that serves descent food. Food - Had the sloppy josh as I was intrigued. Found out the reason was that the cooks name is josh. It was pretty good. Haven't had a sloppy joe in a long time and it was pretty good. They also had tater tots with it and the gave you a ton. Service - Sat at the bar and bantered back in forth with the bar patrons and bar tender. Good times. Food was delivered quickly. Atmosphere - cool little bar that is a big Bears place. A little smokey for me. Confesssion- I live in a state where you can't smoke in bars and restaurants. A little goes a long way for me. Cool bar.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Please fire whoever was bartending at 3pm on Monday 7/18. I just ordered food to go and the bartender was putting my to go drink together and as he was handing it back to me, he made a joke about putting a roofie in it. I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say, so I walked out and threw my drink in the trash. I know that he was joking but it is nothing to joke about at all. I will never step foot in that place again.

N G.

Yelp
Love this place! It's always a good time! And love the ladies Sherri & Malori! Sherri stays ON POINT with those food orders. I had to compliment her one night because she is always ON IT... doesn't miss a beat. And Malori was so sweet from the moment I met her. She came through with a great drink recommendation when I really needed one & her demeanor is always so upbeat every time i see her. I love when someones happy vibe can match my happy vibe! Not to mention they are both hilarious! It's a great place if you want a great environment with really great, down to earth people. And the staff is amazing!

Holly S.

Yelp
Wish I could give a 10 star review!!! The Eleventh St Pub team went above and beyond for my sister's wedding post-party. She and her husband are regulars and frequent this pub, and when they asked if they could host their wedding guests upstairs for an after party, the staff asked if they could throw in a few surprises for them to love on their regular customers. When we arrived, there was a framed photo of the couple on the wall, champagne for all along with customized cups and a champagne tub, and cookies with their faces on it - all free of charge. It was one of my family's favorite memories of the whole weekend. The kindest surprise! THANK YOU, Eleventh St Pub for loving and celebrating so well! We have so much gratitude!

Clifford M.

Yelp
When Rizzo and Samo in the kitchen, the food goes CRAZY!!! I'm talking about amazing wings... Really top 4 in wings in ATL. Lemon Pepper dry rub to DIE FOR. The Philly Cheesesteaks are beautifully sized, and so delicious. Don't get me started on the sweet potato fries. Plus, when Shannon is behind the bar, the drinks are Fire. She makes a great old fashioned. The regulars, staff, and tourists are all cool. Such a diverse and cool crowd. Truly a topnotch, dive bar.
google avatar

Dj D.

Yelp
Popular spot. Everything you'd expect from a pub. Really loud. Low lighting. Sports playing in multiple screens. Where ever you're sitting, you won't miss a second of the game. The food is bar food with a flare. I had the sweet chili cauliflower. (Yes, they have a few vegetarian options!) They were really good, served with grilled pineapple and peanuts. For the meat eater, we ordered a chicken philly. The bar tender misunderstood (noise problem). He ended up getting some good jerk wings. He really liked them.

Erick C.

Yelp
Food was terrible. Drinks are overpriced. Bartender sold us "pineapple" shots for $4/ea, and it was legit just pineapple juice. When we realized, we looked over to see him laughing to himself. Shame. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and probably would have hung around to spend more money. After the stale tortillas, the hollowed out, over cooked food, and $8 for 3oz of pineapple juice and the mockery, enough was enough. Honestly considered walking out on our tab, but ultimately paid in good conscience. This place is an insult to what a good pub should be.

Yelp
What an awesome find! I am not one for giving reviews, but after four visits I have to give them a major shout out. I love this place because it has the appearance of a hole in the wall, which it is, but it also has great quality in food, drinks, service and clientele I found this place one weekend while staying at the Residence Inn which is above the bar. The kitchen was open late, the food was great and both the service and vibe were awesome the fIrst time I stopped in. I selected the same hotel on my next visit mostly because of the pub and it impressed me even more. What I originally thought was mostly a beer and shot bar happens to have an expert mixologist Caleb with an amazing list of innovative craft cocktails and a true passion for discovery. The menu is designed by chef Abrahim and has some awesome options with unique spices and variations on typical pub food. Every special I had was awesome and the Caribbean wings were the best ever. The fact that the kitchen stays open late makes it even better The service at all times of day and night has been flawless; friendly, yet professional. The clientele are a diverse and entertaining mix of various locals and travelers, And the ambiance is great. Oh! Don't miss out on their "deserts". House made chocolate covered bourbon soaked cherries will do you in and the salted chocolate/bourbon fudge is amazing. Go! It is a great place for locals and travelers alike.

Sipsy R.

Yelp
My favorite place to go to watch sports. The chicken tenders are awesome. They always taste fresh. I love sitting at the bar. Service is always great.
google avatar

Christin Y.

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere convenient with WiFi, food and booze for a working lunch. We found all three here. The new chef is great, and the menu has some awesome dishes. Chill atmosphere to hang in with friendly service. Would definitely go back and try dinner.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
This place is a great little neighborhood pub with elevated pub food and great drinks. Great, meaty wings. The steak was flavored deliciously, however the quality of the meat wasn't great. It had lots of gristle. But I can overlook that for the value and flavor.
google avatar

Sanders P.

Yelp
It is so good! My wife and I go all the time for a late night snack (more like 10 wings and tatter tots lol)

Michael W.

Yelp
Was recommended the Eleventh Street Pub by a local hotel. It was within walking distance and easy to locate. The service was quick and the wings were great. Not a big place but comfortable and the vibe was good.

Gwendolyn R.

Yelp
They have the rudest staff and owner. They will not give you their name and they hang up on you. The owner stated the days of the customers being right is over. The only reason they are still in business. Is due to all the people drinking.

Nyzier M.

Yelp
The food isn't all that great. Is very bland and just not that good. They took a bunch of stuff off the menu. But besides that it was a basic sports bar. Very small tho and it was packed.

Yelp
Came to Atlanta from Pittsburgh on July 9 thinking things were slightly opened up during covid walked all through midtown and couldn't find a chill place to get something to eat tried the place across the street and they were closing but the hostess suggested we go across the street and boy are we glad we did the staff were so very nice and welcoming we ordered the blackened salmon and fried Brussels also the burger and fries and a rum runner i have to say i was skeptical about salmon in a bar but BOY WAS I WRONG this food was great and i now have a new way to make Brussels i recommend this place to anyone and we will be back!!!!!

T Y.

Yelp
Five stars for the food!! We came to town later than expected. We'd been planning a nice dinner out at a swank restaurant but restaurants close fairly early in Atlanta, so we ended up here. Not at all the vibe we were seeking...it was loud and very crowded and we had to sit at a communal table. However, in spite of the chaos, the service was good and the food was delicious. We had the Smash Burger, Mac n' Cheese, Collards and Fried Shrimp. We loved all of it!
