"The D.C. and Maryland locations of this vegan soul food spot offer lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch options that rotate daily. Plant-based versions of classic comfort foods, like pot roast, jerk chicken, jambalaya, mac and cheese, and even salisbury steak, are served at ELife’s hot bar. The food was pretty good. I had fried chicken pea patties, cabbage with greens, and mac n cheese. Everything was good 😊 except the mac n cheese. I think most vegan mac n cheeses aren't that great since it's hard to imitate cheese, but I thought I'd try the smokey mac n cheese to see if I would like it, but unfortunately I didn't 😞. I would still go back and try other items because everything else was so good😃 Including the watermelon 🍉 juice and the tea😋. Parking 🚗was plenty. Service was okay.

I was passing by the area so decided to stop and try the food here. I have never been here but I’ve been to similar places which offers a daily variety of hot and cold options and you can get a main + sides or just a couple of sides. I wanted to try the bbq tofu and that’s a main so I got that main plus potatoes, cashew Mac and cheese and a biscuit on the side. The potatoes were really good, the cashew Mac n cheese decent and the bbq tofu was alright. Both the Mac n cheese and tofu needed more flavor so the next day after I added more spices and other items was it better. Overall, a decent meal but not a repeat

The drummies had such a good flavor as well as texture! Excellent food and I’m sad I this was my first time considering ELife has been open for almost 30 years!! There are a few other things that I need to try as well.

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. I had just finished taking my daughter to Watkins Park and remembered my dad told me about this place. Decided to give it a try since it’s located by the highway and I live in VA and don’t frequent this area often. The customer service is nonexistent. It was three young ladies behind the counter and I was not greeted. The lady that was the cashier had an unwelcoming demeanor, she didn’t even try to fake it. Mostly all the entrees are soy based, so I just opted for the three sides platter. My sides were actually good; sweet potatoes, cabbage, and great northern beans. Also, purchased a fruit punch juice that was delicious. Unfortunately, I’ll probably not return due to the lack of customer service and non-soy entrees.

Customer service is just not impressive. I’ve been here twice as of the most recent renovations and at different times of day. Unfortunately I have yet to come and the raw food bar has all options available. You look at the menu online and see so many options…that they don’t have. When I walked in today, I spoke to the gent working the hot bar closest to the register. He said nothing nor gestured to acknowledge my greeting. I went to the cold bar which appears to be the start of the line to get your food choice(s). Well I stood there while the entire staff only acknowledged the hot bar. I eventually had to ask how to get service at the cold bar and they said people normally come to the hot bar to tell them they want cold bar cause they have no way of knowing who got in line first. Smh. Well how about a sign that states where the orders start? How about numbers? Better yet, I was initially one of three people in your establishment — pay attention and don’t be dismissive and rude. I put the poor service aside and got two small sides and a “large” side, all from the cold bar for $17.01. That includes the $.10 bag offered by the female who seemed exhausted to be there. Heck…I just spent $17 for three leftover selections of sides. Yes i want a bag to put my three containers, utensils and napkins. Please don’t spare my pockets now…. I can’t confidently recommend this restaurant unfortunately. Try at your own ability to overlook good customer service.

God is good You just have to believe. blessed

Google
Very disappointed in the new location as far as the food. The young lady was not friendly at all. The most popular item was not available at 6pm and they close at 9pm. I was told. We do not have any more try back tomorrow.

It's a chill hole in the wall. That's why I thought the food would be good but it was very underwhelming. It was my first time having vegan food. I asked the staff for suggestions. It was right when they opened, so maybe she wasn't ready for people, but she seemed like she didn't want to be there. I ordered what she suggested were most popular. I had the original Mac n cheese, which I didn't like at all. I had the collard greens, which were ok. The cinnamon bun was hard and needed to be warmed up. I had the teriyaki or sweet chicken wings. They were good I think, I don't have anything to compare to. But the only thing I would come back to this location for was the blueberry creme cake slice... it was heavenly. Oh, and the variety of juices was enticing. I had the green power one and it was pretty good and authentic. I wouldn't mind trying the others.

If you are vegan or vegetarian… This is a great place to get some good vegan or vegetarian food!!! I was sick and not able to cook. I went to ELife, and purchased enough food to last me a couple of days. The food really made me feel better and the issue I was having was resolved, immediately. I believe the food is very healthy and good for you. Definitely 5 Stars!!!

Yelp
they moved to the new building, which I LOVE. I've been able to grab food from them a couple of times since I moved further out. Each meal has been absolutely delicious. I make sure to purchase a few things so that I can enjoy it for 2-3 days. My favorite options are lemon pepper drummies (Wednesdays I think?) and maple curry which are an all time fave of mine. My next favorite options are the collard greens, sweet potatoes, garlicky kale salad, and the ratatouille which were all divine. Probably my staples every time I go. I also really enjoyed the curry chickpeas and their red beans and rice. The best ever. I'm really grateful they're doing so well post pandemic, new location is in the same vicinity as the previous building. Compared to spots like NuVegan, I noticed I don't have reactions to ELife's food! This means that I can trust their food, and their ingredients. They've started adding new things to the menu on certain days. Hopefully I get a chance to try those options too. PS: make sure you guys follow them on IG & FBook to stay up to date on the events that they have there too!!!

Yelp
Vegan food???? The food is delicious. I sampled so much, I cannot remember all that I ate. I will say that I felt full and healthy after eating. The vegan Mac and cheese was delicious. The vegan pasta tasted like a million bucks. I was also able to partake in the lecture that took place on the dinning side which contained a wealth of information. This new location is more spacious while still being intimate. I was able to pick up some essentials from the vendors such as authentic shea butter, jewelry and books.

Unfortunately I have yet to come and the raw food bar has all options available. You look at the menu online and see so many options...that they don't have. Not to mention this spot is soy-dominant when it comes to vegan options. Most of the cold bar options are not soy-free. Same is true for the hot bar. This is not health food. It's non-animal product meal options. Anyhow...When I walked in today, I spoke to the gent working the hot bar closest to the register. He said nothing nor gestured to acknowledge my greeting. Yelp
I came here for a vegan event. Unfortunately I didn't get to try much of the food that I wanted to so I'll have to come back another day. I did have the original mac and cheese, the "tuna" mac, a green juice, and the peanut butter smoothie. The peanut butter smoothie was so good that I got a second one to take home. I pretty much inhaled the Mac and cheese- so far the original is my favorite. I visited Elife many years ago and the location was small, but this is a nice big new one. The owner and staff are kind and all serving the community in a wonderful way. May God bless the restaurant and may we all experience Everlasting Life.

Yelp
I love the food. I love what they have done to the place. The new location is really nice plus there's live music in the other part of the building. My only issue is sometimes the customer service is off. Like they are nice but not if that makes sense. Again the restaurant is my favorite place to go when I want good vegan food that's not too too high so I'm really not complaining.

Yelp
Tacoma Park location 4/23/23 Terrible DRY OLD food! Spent $30 here, what a waste So disappointed

Yelp
I love visiting ELife so much! This black owned business is such a treasure in Takoma Park. When you walk inside Elife you can see there are plenty of tables available for indoor dining, and the interior is very clean and tidy. Then you bask in the glory of an endless buffet of vegan food. From meatless chicken drummies, to fried "fish", to casseroles, Mac and cheese, and plenty of greens you are in awe of the variety of plant based dishes. In addition to the hot and ready food, you can also order sandwiches from them. I have not yet tried a sandwich because the Mac and cheese and faux meats are so hard to pass up. They have two different Mac and cheeses. I prefer the cashew based one since it is smoky, however their other Mac and cheese is reminiscent of your favorite childhood Mac and cheese. I am a sucker for those chicken drummies too. They offer them in a few different sauces, and Buffalo is my favorite because it is spicy. This meat is perfect for those that want to replace chicken in their diet as it is chewy and stringy like the real thing. ELife also has shelves of vegan dessert! They have many different cake slices to pick from. I have only tried the carrot cake which was definitely worth the calories. For those opting for a healthier sweet option, they also have a fridge full of juices. I hope you will show this black owned business some love. If you are ever to try a vegan meal, you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. You will wish the chef lived with you so being vegan could always be this easy.

Yelp
There were some good and OK take aways. As an Executive Vegetarian Chef, I wanted to see what good food was in the area I was visiting. I ordered the Seiten chicken wings w maple glaze, chickpeas & rice, and cashew Mac n cheese. It was the end of the day, so the food wasn't as fresh as I would have hoped unlike a fresh cooked beyond burger (that wasn't available). The wings need a little more flavor and crisp, the chickpeas over rice were OK, the cashew Mac n cheese was on the dry side after sitting for a length of time. In this area alot of restaurant do a buffet Cafeteria style hot plate. It saves on overhead cutting waste. But the food quality and integrity is a challenge to control. So I wish this establishment well in its concept. There were some highlights that I haven't experienced. The strawberry lemonade, ginger juice was good but think. So here were my corrections when I got home. Added garlic powder, onion powder, coconut amino acid to chicken wings let the glaze reduce and crisp up the wings, reworked the cashew cheese Mac n cheese by adding little more nutrients yeast, bechamel sauce, & red pepper flake, hint of celtic salt, and truffle oil. Add water to thin out the strawberry juice. But the star player was the peach oat milk base Gelato was great. With a few tweaks on the recipes I could envision this restaurant being very prosperous

Yelp
Food is out of this world, great!!! I don't know how they create such great tasting food without animal products, but they do it, and they do it well. Service is "good," but would be so much better if the servers would pep-up, smile, and get excited about the fact that they are providing what so many people in the county have been looking for. Healthy food choices. Many restaurants come and go in the county, and I believe that the ones that don't make it are those that have not stressed the importance of the "customer experience" to their staff. I LOVE the food at this establishment, but if I continually feel like the staff is only tolerating me, for a check; or they're not invested in the owner's success, I know that I won't continue making the trip. The first time I came, there was a young lady who took me through all the food and offered samples. She's the kind of person that belongs out front. But in more recent experiences, some staff barely look you in the eyes, and they're speaking so low that when you ask a question, you hardly hear the answer. I STILL rate this restaurant HIGHLY!!!! Getting the staff onboard to be as excited about the customer's experience as the customer is about the food would make this establishment #1 in the Prince George's County vegan restaurant space. And possibly #1 in the DMV and beyond.

Yelp
Still willing to drive 75 mi for this food!! I been coming for the past 2 yrs but I'll admit since my last trip I felt like there were sooo many new items added. I ordered online & picked it up. My favorite is usually the maple curry drummies, with cashew mac n cheeze & collard greens but to my surprise they also now offered "bowls" so I got both to go!! Food for the entire weekend! I ordered the vegan steak bowl & my mouth was watering! I couldn't resist desert so I added that too, lol.

Yelp
-Checking in with ELife for an evening meal. The food is good plantbase/vegan substance but the service was sub par today sad to say. I ordered food online and received a text stating it was ready. When I arrived and informed them of the pickup order, I was told they were about to make the order. This was an inconvenience as I was on a schedule and was expecting to walk in, pick up the order and continue my evening. Furthermore, i was also Informed that the Steak and Cheese that was available to order online, was not available in store. I had to get that portion of my order refunded. While in the car, I was checking over my order and discovered they had missed a side. Had I not checked, I would have gotten home, been missing a side and paid the price of an Entree and 2 sides instead of 1. I would have gladly doubled up on the 1 side I did have, but they were all out of that as well just after my order. Ive had good food from them before, it the service could have been very much so better IMO. The staff was nice about the entire process, no issues there. Personally, I would have liked to see more accuracy and efficiency.

Yelp
I was on my way to sonic when the sign for Elife happened to catch my eye and I decided to try it. Upon walking in I notice they had vendors on the right and the food in the door to the left. When I walked in the aroma was amazing. I ordered the jambalaya, Mac and cheese, and BBQ drummies. The employee who took my order was patient while I figured out my order. There were so many option to choose from and they helped me understand the menu. The jambalaya wasn't very spicy but it was flavorful and the veggie sausage were good! The Mac and cheese was creamy and comforting to eat on a cold day but I do prefer oven bake style so it wasn't my favorite. The star of the show for me was the BBQ drummies, the sauce was sweet and tangy. The drummies also had a nice meaty flavor and texture that satisfied my pallet. I washed it all down with their delicious strawberry lemonade and that's when the itis hit me lol. All in all a great experience

Kendra B.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely disgusting. The hot bar reminds me of cafeteria food back in high school. Although my food was hot, everything tasted like I could taste the container it was sitting in or something. Just gross. I took 2 small bites of the orange chicken and couldn't eat anymore. I then took small bites of the collard greens and cooked carrots and both tasted disgusting. I honestly smelled the maple curry wings and decided I wasn't even going to waste my time trying them because I already felt queasy from the other bites. I threw it all away...the only good thing was the oatmeal raisin cookie. It was soft and delicious. However, I would NEVER try this food again. GROSS.

Yelp
Amazing flavors! Healthy indulgence! Wellness on a plate! What's not to love? I felt nourished and full yet amazingly light. Everlasting Life is celebrating 27 years of vegan soul food. Wishing them 27 x 1000 more years! If I eat this way more often then I'll be there with them...! I had pepper steak with collard greens and original mac n cheeze. He had veggie stew with cashew mac n cheeze with collard greens. We "fought" over the cake... should've gotten two. This restaurant has a wellness center where we can pick up pharmaceutical- grade supplements too... one-stop shopping for longevity!

Gregory B.

Yelp
I had ordered here a few times on Uber eats and just recently visited the restaurant. My go-to is usually the drummies, cashew Mac and cheese, and kale or collards. I also like the cold compressed juices as well. The flavor and texture of the drummies is what keeps me coming back. The cashew mac is hit or miss depending on the temperature. The collards are okay, but nothing to write home about This place is probably a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to a 4. Perhaps I'll be able to explore more of the menu soon.

Lisa G.

Yelp
I decided to order from ELife because I had a 50% off UberEats promotion that I wanted to use. So glad I did because I got so much good food! I ordered almost everything on the menu! 4 Cold Sides Plates: - Garlic Kale Salad (really great flavor and perfectly dressed!) - Mock Chicken Salad (nice texture and flavor_ - Spinach Quiche Salad (didn't taste that eggy and felt a lot like the chicken salad but still good) - Curries Vegetable Salad (great flavor) Entree and 2 Sides: - Seaweed Wrapped Fish Patties (these reminded me a lot of fish, loved how they looked and had a good texture) - Green Cabbage (good flavor) - Original Macaroni and Cheese (yummy but the cashew one is better) Corn Bread Entree and 2 Sides - Drumettes (Maple Curry) (my favorite! great texture and generous portion) - Collard Greens (decent flavor) - Cashew Macaroni and Cheese (another favorite!) Popcorn (I am a popcorn guru (like popcorn is really my favorite food) and this was divine! Still trying to figure out what seasonings they put on it so I can try to recreate it) They have really good pricing and their food was very tasty! I have only been eating vegan for a few months so every now and again miss meat and eggs but if I ate from here everyday, I wouldn't miss it at all. Textures and flavors are very reminiscent of my omnivore life, haha.

Yelp
Last night, my husband and I went to ELife to try for the first time and this is what we got: *Maple Curry Drumsticks (my husband loved it, but there was an overpowering taste of cumin) *BBQ Drumsticks (delicious and the perfect texture) *Original Mac n Cheese (tasty, but needed a little bit more seasoning and sauce) *Cashew Mac n Cheese (creamy, but needed a little bit more seasoning) *Greens (They did not taste fresh and we had to add salt, but it was still tasty) *Toffee Crunch Cake ( ) *Sweet Potato Cheesecake (my husband said it had a lemony taste, but still loved it) *CBD Lemonade (made me sleep like a baby) *Natural Root Jamaican Beverage (earthy taste and similar to root beer) I can not eat cashews so it was refreshing to see that I could still indulge in eating a choice of Mac n cheese; my husband said the cashew Mac n cheese was more creamy. The drumsticks were cooked well and didn't have the chewy/gummy texture which was great for me because I haven't had much success in eating vegan drumsticks that I liked (the BBQ was my preference). It was late night (for us) and this hit the spot for what we were having a taste for last night. The desserts were hands down the best part of our entire meal. I gave this rating a 3 because the vibes were good, but the food was just okay-- this could have been because of the time of day that we went and we just got what was left-- but I will like to give them another try.

Dan W.

Yelp
If you're a vegan, this is one of the best spots in the D.C. area to eat. We had breakfast and would go back in a heart beat! The tofu scramble with the potatoes and vegan sausage are divine and all the vegan cakes and desserts are delectable! The plaza this diamond in the rough is in isn't much to look at, but you won't be disappointed.

Belinda B.

Yelp
I returned here after a 10 year hiatus...the entire block looks different but they remain the same (secretly hope they move and get better accommodations for the clients.) The food is still good. The service is functional without being pleasant. It's cafeteria service style with no eat in dining options...but who else is serving vegan food?

Gregory A.

Yelp
Thanks to God(all praise is due to him!), I had the collard greens, which was absolutely fantastic!! In addition, I also got the cashew mac n'cheese which was also excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just can't beat the incredibly wide selection, the great service and the consistently high quality of the food! This is, without doubt, one of the best vegan soul food restaurants in the country bar none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Greg Anderson

Osi A.

Yelp
This place never ceases to disappoint me. The only decent food is cashew Mac and cheese and salad. 90% soy. Unhappy workers. The food is from Cysco...a food delivery company. Half the food has just been sitting all day. Crunchy rice. Just disappointing. As a vegan for 14+ years, this food is not that good nor extremely healthy.

T G.

Yelp
Didn't realize they changed the name from " Everlasting Life". Regardless I always enjoy the vegan fare and leave with more food and drinks than I intended. This is because there are so many tasty looking options. I like all the meat alternatives. I do think they can add some smoked paprika and fresh garlic to the cabbage, green beans, greens and back eyed peas but that's just they way I would season those. If you need quick and good 100% vegan restaurants in PG County I think this is your only choice. The cakes and juices are good too which is why I leave with more than I plan.

Unique C.

Yelp
I'll be moving to the area in just a few short weeks. As a foodie, I'm scoping out the area of good eats. I identify as a pescatarian, but ultimately, I'll eat whatever I want, whenever I want :). Disclaimer: don't go to a vegan restaurant expecting the meal to taste non-vegan. If you're committed to a vegan lifestyle then you forfeit much of the flavors that naturally accompany meat and dairy. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but you needn't let that deter you. The ordering process is pretty simple and there's plenty of staff to explain to you the various sides and entrees. They have two types of Mac and cheese, one made with cashews and the other with potatoes. I'm not sure of the details regarding how they are made. Nevertheless, I chose the potato mac and cheese with, collard greens and "shrimp" as my entree. I was simply blown away by the "shrimp", the item looked exactly like shrimp with a nearly identical texture. I was informed that the product was made from white yam?!!! The meal was absolutely delectable.. even to a dairy lover! Also, for all the food I had, the price was more than reasonke to me! All in all, I will be back to try more of their great look entrees! Came here for a second time and absolutely loved my dish. They are generous with the "meat" portion of the entree, which was my favorite! Get the jerk "chicken". I did wish the Mac was creamier. I know it's non-diary, but there is definitely a way! Great food overall!

Nichelle K.

Yelp
I am a return customer. I love the hot menu bar and the jerk chicken drummies are my favorite. Sadly though, I drove for 30 minutes to this location yesterday because I had a craving for vegan cake. I was heartbroken to discover a dark green spot on the one I picked up. I wasn't sure what that was so I put it back and started to look thorough the other stacks of packaged cakes-- only to discover mold on several others. I ended up just buying some juice today. Maybe they should store all of the cakes in the fridge? I didnt take a chance at buying any if those either though. Verrrrry Disappointed. To make matters worse, I was overcharged and later told that I could have read the sign at the front with the prices. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Horrible!!

Jamar S.

Yelp
Everlasting life was my first foray into Vegan restaurants. Everyone was extremely nice, the young lady at the cash register allowed me to sample the two different styles of Mac and cheese(potato based/cashew based) and was very pleasant. I ordered the Baked Ziti, traditional Mac and Cheese, and collard greens and everything was delicious. I also ordered a fish cake, made of soy that surprisingly tasted pretty close to the real thing. I want to eat healthier and live longer and Everlasting Life was a great introduction into a cleaner lifestyle.

J B.

Yelp
This restaurant is good. Some foods seem a lot greasier than others but overall it's a hit. I only docked one star because of the price. They definitely over charge for the amount you get.

Andrew P.

Yelp
This place has been around for quite a while now. 90% of the times that my sister visits, we end up here, whether we're getting a full meal, picking up one of their delectable desserts, or just browsing the vendors next door. It is the only strictly vegan restaurant in this area that I know of (correct me if I'm wrong). I have pretty much had everything from here, such as their BBQ chicken, orange chicken, mac & cheese, greens, and their carrots. Their carrots are probably my favorite side. Not only are they chilled, but they have this sweetness and they burst with flavor... it's great! As for the desserts... well, I haven't had ALL of them, but I'd say I've had all the ones I wanted to try. My absolute favorite is the Sweet Potato Cake. There are two brands of cakes that they sell, but both are pretty good and each provide quite the variety. They've got smoothies, cookies and brownies too. It is also worth mentioning that everyone in there is really nice and they are all quite welcoming. They sell books and other miscellaneous things as well. If you are in the mood for vegan food and are near exit 15, stop here!

Kate L.

Yelp
Cheap and amazing vegan soul food. A wonderful surprise on our trip to DC when we stayed in MD.

Brittani P.

Yelp
Vegan for roughly 11 years now, I just want to know when are they closing permanently. I've been around for over a decade, I am a DMV native who would consider myself a season Vegan with a great taste palate. Recently I visited this establishment and I noticed that the ambiance and appearance is still the same. This place could definitely afford for some upgrades and renovations. I am sure the community has poured into this establishment in abundance! Secondly, let's get straight to it. I ordered the chicken salad. It was extremely overly salty. It's not the first time the recipe was inconsistent. It seems there's literally too many hands in the mixing pot who are not properly measuring out ingredients. I immediately had to discard that item. The next was the Mac and cheese.... It was absolutely disgusting. Both traditional and cashew. Then I had the curry /maple wings. The wings had a funny taste to it. Curry and maple just didn't seem like the fit together to pair. My suggestion is to upgrade the place, focus more on innovative recipes and perfecting the current ones you have. Restaurants such as Hue Café Apothecary are on the rise and considered to be Top Tier Vegan food! Please if your looking for good quality PLANT BASED food.... Not vegan garage check out Hue. This place has disappointed me for the last time!

Yelp
My first experience tasting vegan style soul food was at Everlasting life. The food was of impeccable quality, fresh and tasty. As constructive criticism: Train the servers to be prepared to answer questions about the food ingredients. For example: Does the entree contain soy protein, etc?

Yelp
Great Vegan food restaurant. They always have ample supply of my favorite dish (the regular and cashew mac n' cheese), and offer a wide range of comfort food options. Definitely a must try for every palate.

Yelp
Elige is a vegan restaurant that serves great food.I had a non- chicken leg for thr first time. It was interesting, to say the least. But. They are always promoting healthy food. Definitely worth repeat visits

Yelp
Some items are good but a number of them are super sauced up. They can lighten up on saturating everything in sauces.

Yelp
I am not a vegan but this place is delish. The classic Mac and cheese is a staple. Good size portions.

Yelp
I went to this place after eating at the Everlasting life on Good hope road. This was meh to say the least. I got the sesame chili meatballs and they had a funny taste. The sweet potatoes were not cooked through or even seasoned. The collards were okay. The portions were small for price paid. The customer service was not that great either. The ladies seemed bothered with any question I had about the menu or any recommendations. I should have went to NuVegan instead. I won't be going back here. Money wasted!!!!!

Yelp
Food was underwhelming and lacked depth. Wasn't as flavorful as I expected but I still left satisfied in terms of portion size. Wouldn't revisit for the food but I did enjoy their array of cold pressed juices. I wouldn't recommend getting the 'fish' due to the incredible chewiness of something that should be more crunchy considering its a fried option. My significant other wasn't pleased with it. On the other hand I had the BBQ Tofu with the collard greens and chickpea Mac N' Cheese and it was just OK. Nothing to run home about but thankful for the experience nonetheless as it was my first time trying vegan soul food.

Yelp
I don't know what's going on with this place, but this original Mac and cheese it is horrible. I got some today, and the same thing horrible. It's just not the same in there more. Jerk chicken YUK!!!

Yelp
Meh. I love the staff and the drink selection. The burrito bowls are bland as it doesn't seem as though they put salt in their rice. The cucumber salad is good and so are the drummies. They're also not gluten-free friendly and most of the protein is soy ‍.

Yelp
I'm honestly a big fan of the food, but the menu is rarely correct, things are often out of stock... I don't believe I've ever gotten exactly what I ordered from here, whether delivery or carryout. Then the lack of communication when items are out of stock makes it even more irritating. I'm seriously considering not ordering from here anymore just because of the hassle and irritation that comes with it. Also wish they listed ingredients in the item description, especially the juices. Most vegans want to know what they're putting into theirs bodies, & ordering the drinks is basically a guessing game. Again, great food.

Yelp
On a road trip to a housewarming in Virginia. We stopped to get some gas and my daughter realized we were near one of the places on her list to try. Less than a quarter of a mile was Everlasting Life. It's a soul food vegan restaurant (what more can you ask for!) Upon driving into the parking lot, I felt a little depressed because the shopping center could use some tender loving care. Everything looked a little run down, like it need a facelift :/. That didn't stop me though and once we entered it was the same thing. (It was confusing because they have two separate door to get in ). The food looked really good, but no signs to tell you what it was, had to ask if I didn't know. The staff was pretty friendly and didn't mind answering our questions. I don't understand, what's so hard about making signs. You also have no idea what the prices are. We had an idea because we looked on line. Anyway, you have to go to the other side to sit and eat. My daughter and I both had the Vegan mac and cheese & collard greens. The mac & cheese was good and creamy (very impressive for Vegan), the greens, seasoned well. We also got the Maple Curry drumettes and Sriracha Shrimp and Rice. Pina Colada and Double Chocolate cake for dessert. Yes! everything was Vegan! I must say, even though I'm not vegan, everything was delicious and would differently go back if I'm near here. The prices were not too bad especially considering the amount of food they give you! They lost a star because there are no signs on anything and kind of rundown :(

Yelp
Wonderful variety of Vegan food, desserts & drinks. They also sometimes have vendors where you can buy natural soaps, earrings & much more. You can sign up for their text msg list and get notified on upcoming events such as movies, lectures & documentaries that they have showing in the lounge area.

Yelp
New to the neighborhood and was excited to learn that there's a vegan establishment nearby. For the record I'm not vegan but it's an ambition. So many options, SO MUCH FLAVOR! The staff is welcoming. So neatly packaged, you can reuse the containers for future lunches. Hearty servings. Quick service. Careful about mixing too many hot items, the flavors are bold and made to stand well alone. I recommend the curry tofu , jerk chicken, and all veggies. Personally didn't love the maple drumsticks, but I'm only one set of tastebuds. I will update once I try the cold items.

Yelp
My friend got this place to cater for his party and I loved the food so I decided to go try it out for myself. They are nice and amazing with allergies. I would recommend the maple fake chicken as my item of choice on the menu.

Yelp
Nice little Black owned vegan spot in Takoma Park. Walking distance from the Takoma metro station (2-4 minute walk). The food is good. Even though the texture of the Mac & cheese is not what I'm accustomed to (I've only had dairy based Mac & cheese), it was still flavorful. They have a cashew Mac & cheese as well. For one entrée and two sides at $13, the price was right. I'd definitely go back again.

Yelp
My husband and I love coming here. They always have a good selection of food, desserts, and drinks. I saw a few reviews saying the portions weren't enough but there were times where our plate was overflowing. They are definitely more generous than other places we've been to. The only downside it the location. Lots of construction in the area.

Yelp
Spend your $ here! I went for the first time on a Monday, and had cashew mac and cheez, greens, black eyed peas and carrots. Loved it all. Staff was kind and knowledgeable (helped me avoid soy foods). Drinks are great too. It was so much food in the little containers I had food for 2 days. Def going back...I wanna try dessert

Yelp
So a few weeks back, a friend let me try her "Cashew Mac+ Cheese". I've been hankering for another taste of this rich & creamy, 100 % vegan yumminess and today was my lucky day. Our service was swift (maybe 15 minutes) and pleasant. I chose a jerk chkn entree with cashew mac, ratatouille, and a double choc chip cookie. I really enjoyed my meal and I look forward to dining again soon. Thank you

Yelp
Customer service is AMAZING ALWAYS! The food is always fresh and tasty! The portions are huge! Great job ELife!

Yelp
I'm impressed. Another spot that you should not judge because of what it looks like on the outside. Oh the surprises that'll be waiting for you when you walk within this establishment and order. I walked into the establishment and was a tad bit confused due to the signage. Of course, there were some nice jams playing. I'd suggest better signage to help newcomers navigate through the dining experience (I.e having the menu displayed overhead or small menus available so people don't have to wait until they're at the front to figure out what they want). Now the food. I just smiled thinking about the food I ordered yesterday. I ordered the jerk chicken, mac&cheese and kale greens. The jerk "chicken" flavor and texture was on point. I think I had a bad batch of rice because the texture was off. The mac&cheese was different but good (I don't know how else to explain it but if you try it--you'll understand.) The Kale greens had a nice flavor. I ordered one of the homemade drinks "Citrus Detox"..it was "eh." GREAT portion size. I was full and still had more food to eat. I pushed through though because sometimes you gotta do what you want to do. I will definitely stop through for one of their events and to enjoy the delicious food. Good food, GREAT portion size, decent customer service, and a tupperware to remind you to come back. Big plus: Black owner business + plant based diet= MAJOR WIN. Thank you Everlasting Life.

Yelp
Mac and cheese and jerk are my go to! The servicing portions always allows me two big meals because it's so much food!
