Ellen's Stardust Diner

Cannot recommend this place enough! Such talented off-Broadway and Broadway performers singing the greatest musical theatre and pop songs on the planet. You get to see a guy duet Defying Gravity, hear the best songs from The Lion King, dance to Lady Gaga hits, all while eating a delicious matzoh ball soup. Shoutout to Liz, Eric, and Jen who were incredible, so talented. I walked out of there completely energized and inspired and you will too. 5 stars!!!!

First Night in NYC and we decided to head to the Diner for a night of entertainment and we were not disappointed!! Really fantastic atmosphere and the food was good but we kept it simple with hamburgers and hot dogs. So many other items on the menu I wish I would have tried something else. It was good but they had a great menu and we just couldn’t decide. The singers on staff tonight were absolutely incredible! If you like live entertainment and a variety of talent you’ll love stopping in at the Stardust for a visit!

Came as a party of 4 on a Saturday around 11am and waited ~40 min. While there's a wait, the line moves! Some groups get picked off the line if a booth opens up for a larger party - the entire party must be present to be seated. We were escorted upstairs + seated towards the wall. Unfortunately, it was a bit hard to see some performances on the main fl, but there's a TV feed that broadcasts live and half of the time, the servers sing upstairs before moving to the main fl. As for the food - typical overpriced diner classics, but you're here for the entertainment. They cover a lot of classics from Broadway Musicals, to Disney, to pop culture songs. They also have a tip bucket, so bring some cash if you're feeling charitable! Overall, a fun time! And the wait wasn't AS long as I thought. No bathrooms while waiting, however you can go to Urban Hawker food hall nearby for emergencies!

We had an incredible experience at this diner! The Mudslide was absolutely divine – rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It was like dessert in a glass, and I couldn’t get enough of it. The Rainbow Cake was another standout. Not only was it visually stunning, but the layers were moist and full of flavor. Each bite was a celebration of sweetness and color! And the Chocolate Brownie? Wow. It was warm, fudgy, and paired beautifully with a scoop of ice cream. It’s the kind of dessert that melts in your mouth and makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for more of their heavenly treats and voices!

Minus the wait which goes by quicker than what it seems or one would think, it was decent. We didn’t know what to expect but we enjoyed it. We went for our anniversary because we wanted to check it out. The people singing were great. It’s a busy place and we had to wait a little for our server time to time but that was okay.

For a Broadway musical fan, or a vocal music fan, this was a joyful place to spend some time. We arrived on a drizzly afternoon and were seated quickly as Justin, a waiter, performed. There was a coordinator of sorts who made sure the performances continued and who explained that extra tips were split to help the staff take acting, music, and dance lessons. (Yes, get your wallets out… these young dreamers need that extra support!) The staff members encouraged each other as they performed, and the audience all laughed and sang along. The food was good and surprisingly well-priced for the location. What fun we had, and what memories we made.

If you love broadway, this is the perfect place to stop in on the way to see a show! The talent inside this place is immaculate. The performances were so fun and interactive. The food isn’t anything to write home about but truly you should go for the experience alone. Don’t forget to TIP your servers/performers! (I recommend bringing cash for tips.)

The atmosphere and singing servers are 100% why you should come here! The wait outside appeared quite long but was only 30 minutes at most. Our server was kind. The service was not fast at all, but with the entertainment, it didn't seem too bad. The food was not great, but again, that's not really why WE went. If you are going for quick service or good food, this isn't the spot for you. If you're looking for an awesome NY experience and to enjoy the entertainment of incredibly talented individuals, check it out! Very much worth the wait!
