New Owners Give Lee’s Fried Chicken and Donuts A Slightly Different Name - Eater Houston

"Chef Elliot Roddy has officially opened Elliot’s Table, a casual new eatery in The Heights. Located at 465 TC Jester Boulevard, the restaurant is now serving comforting dishes like Thai chili pork ribs, shrimp and grits, and 44 Farms steaks inspired by “family meal,” or meals shared by restaurant staff before or after service. Desserts for the restaurant, including chocolate cake and ice cream, are sourced from Houston’s own Jody Cakes. Elliot’s Table is now open for dinner service Wednesday through Friday, and lunch is set to follow in the coming weeks. [EaterWire]" - Amy McCarthy

My husband picked this restaurant for our 13th anniversary yesterday. And I just loved how cute, small, and cozy it was. Loved the outside patio too will be going back on fresh autumn days to eat out there. The waiter was kind and knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were good. The wine was excellent! My husband got the chicken parm he said it was the best he ever had, I got the lamb was delicious the spinach was so good too. Appetizer we got ribs and I absolutely loved I don’t think it was bbq sauce because I don’t like bbq sauce, it was a different sauce very delicious. Overall I liked the vibe will definitely be going back.

My partner and I loved this place. We came on steak night. We called to make a reservation prior to opening hours and they got back to us quickly. My partner said the steak plate was delicious. I had the cod promesco. 10/10 recommend!! Chef, managers and Elliot himself were very attentive. Lots of healthy options to eat as well on Elliot’s table✨

Google
First off, I want to give a shout out to Elliot, the moment that we walked in he greeted my friend and I, and informed us that someone would be with us shortly. A few seconds later Tate came and greeted us and asked if we were okay with sitting outside, when we said yes, Elliot in turn said that we could have the big double table in the corner after they cleaned it off. Every person that we interacted with from employees to regular patrons treated us as if we were family and would continue to check on us. The chicken Parm was amazing! Excellent crunch, juicy tender and flavorful! The bread and miso butter was also flavorful and the tiramisu was pretty good as well and wasn't too sweet but had excellent notes of pistachio and other ingredients. I'll definitely be bringing my wife by!

I went to Elliot’s Table for the first time this weekend and cannot wait to return. The food and wine were delicious, the service was excellent and I love the intimate atmosphere. I ordered the Cod Romesco and my Husband had the Chimichurri Steak, both were fantastic.

Google
This is one of my new favorite restaurants! The chef/owner and all of the staff are so friendly and cool. The food was incredibly good and they have a great wine selection. Highly recommend the current steak special, but you honestly can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Their patio is adorable and well-adorned with lots of plants. Atmosphere is laid back and fun but they take food seriously. We brought our 9mo old daughter to dinner with us and it was a great setting for her and us. The staff treated her like royalty and she was eating it up. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Google
Tried this restaurant based on reviews as I was looking for something different and not a chain restaurant for my birthday dinner. From the moment we walked in we felt like family. The staff were exceptional and the food even better. We were a group of 4 and had the lamb chops, pork chop and steak dinner special. Portions are generous and cooked to perfection. Also had the wonderful desserts, key lime tort, lemon olive oil cake and pistachio tiramisu all delicious. Thank you for making my birthday dinner so special. We will be back. I suggest making a reservation.

Google
Service was really great. The waiters knew what they were serving and they were personable, which is rare anymore. Wine selection was very good. It was hard for me to choose the route I wanted to take with app and entree, but I chose the octopus and the special, which was steak. Fantastic! Olive oil cake...never had one like it. In summation, I cant wait to go back. Nice work, Elliott.

Google
Spectacular Food! Best Chicken Parm we've ever had in our lives. This spot is mega cute! It's a great romantic spot, but also great choice for a simple night out where you're on a quest for a guaranteed good quality meal!

Yelp
Disclosure: i am one of of the few millennials who is t technologically savant but I made an account just for this review. I have been a guest of Elliot's for 5 years. I came here for the first time for a first date back in my senior year of college. To be concise; I was treated like royalty, between the food, the atmosphere, and the service I felt like the Queen of England. I've spent the last 5 years treating every birthday, every guest in town, and every special occasion at Elliot's and every time, without fail, they have risen above expectations. To be fair, my only criticism of this stellar establishment is that it is not open every day. But personally, I suppose that's a good thing otherwise I'd be filling for bankruptcy.

Yelp
This place is a true hidden gem that I almost hate to share with you all, but it's too good not to. First, let's get the small stuff out of the way--though honestly, it's all just nitpicking when compared to the greatness of this restaurant. There are no online reservations, but that just adds to the charm. Parking is a bit tricky; it's a small lot, so I'd recommend taking an Uber or having a friend drop you off to save the stress. And yes, there's a gas station next door--but no, it won't ruin your experience. Now, let's talk about what really matters--the positives. This place is a neighborhood treasure. The ingredients are so fresh and grown on-site or at their other location. The owner is hands-on, working right alongside the amazing staff, creating an atmosphere that's both high-end and welcoming. Service is impeccable--quick, friendly, and personal, but with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel right at home. The wine list is impressive, though mostly by the bottle. We sat outside on a perfect evening, with heaters and little flames adding a cozy touch to the ambiance. Absolutely perfect. The waitstaff works together seamlessly, so you get the whole team's attention without ever having to wait. Our server (who we absolutely adored but I can't recall his name) even showed us photos of the entrees to help us decide. He recommended the cucumber and tomato salad and the chimichurri steak, and even though I'm not a fan of cucumbers or tomatoes, we trusted him--and I'm so glad we did! The salad was bursting with flavors that were unexpectedly delicious and perfectly balanced. When we couldn't finish it, they immediately boxed it up so we could make room for the steak. We swapped the roasted veggies for asparagus, and even though it might not have been as beautifully plated dish, it was packed with flavor. Although I wouldn't really call it a steak (steaks in my opinion stand alone, with no sauces or condiments, but I was raised on a cattle ranch), it was an entree masterclass in delicious, layered tastes. As the night came to a close, we declined dessert, but our server left the bill face down and encouraged us to stay as long as we liked. That simple gesture spoke volumes about the level of care and service they provide. In short, you can't leave here disappointed. The owner is actively involved (so if you have a problem, politely speak up and I have no doubt it will be properly addressed), and the staff is trained to provide top-notch service. I'm hoping they rotate the menu throughout the year, but no matter what you order, you can't go wrong. Highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
What a delicious little bistro! We did an early Galentine's dinner there last night and loved every minute of our experience. We started with wine, bread service and the crispy brussel sprouts, and then some of us split our mains because the portions are large. Those who didn't all went home with leftovers. My girlfriend and I split the wedge salad (was dressed perfectly) and the cod served a top a bed of crab and veggies (roasted okra, carrots, green beans). Loved this dish. Know that they charge $6 to split plates (they kindly told us in advance). And parking is tight, but there's some street parking, and we were also told we could park in front of the back building. 5 stars. Looking forward to another visit.

Yelp
This place is so quaint yet upscale. The inside is very small, so I recommend calling for reservations, although we got in quickly when we arrived early. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The chef/owner was walking around greeting customers, I appreciate that. My son ordered a steak, he was very pleased. I tried a bite as well. I am not a steak fan so I cannot rate but it had a crisp outside and tender inside, flavor was good. I ordered the chili ribs from the shareable menu. I couldn't decide between that and the cucumber tomato salad so i ordered that to go. I'll rate tomorrow :-) The ribs were good, very smoky with a hint of spice and sweet. I don't usually eat mushrooms but i tried the ones served with the dish and they were fantastic The wine selection was great. They also have a select dessert menu. Turns out they were sold out so it must've been good. I saw the staff serve the last slice of pecan spice cake, it looked delicious. This place has several articles rated "best" in local magazines/papers. I would like to come back and try those dishes. They (articles) are listed on the website and framed on the walls of the establishment. I truly enjoyed my evening at Elliot's and look forward to returning.

Yelp
Been coming to Elliot's table for the last couple years since I moved into the neighborhood and literally never disappoints. Food, service, ambiance.... This place has it all. Literally a must try in my opinion. I would fight a war for Elliot and his table. Recommendations: brussel sprouts, octopus, chicken parm (pictured), black and blue burger. The picture of the chicken parm doesn't do this dish justice because I just about had to lick the sauce off the plate it was so good.
google avatar

Alonso T.

Yelp
The appetizers, mussels and octopus, stole the show. The sauce of the mussels was so good- I could have the soup alone as a meal. The steak was a good value but not my favorite. My guess it was 12-16 oz but it had a lot of silver skin making jt hard to eat. I also thought it had WAY too much butter where I couldn't taste the meat. The cook on it was off, ordered medium rare and came out rare. Likely will come back for the appetizers!
google avatar

Valeria A.

Yelp
The service was excellent! They attended me & my friend quickly even in a full restaurant. We were recommended delicious plates with so much flavor. The ambiance of the place is calm & cozy. Has low lighting & nicely decorated.
google avatar

Ruby D.

Yelp
All the service here was impeccable. Friday night dinner on the patio was a treat. The restaurant definitely ramps up as the night progresses so i'm glad I was able to snag a table at 6:30. I thought the food was good but not as great as everyone's making it out to be? I'd come back to try other dishes.

Haley H.

Yelp
I am not the one to usually write reviews, however, Elliot's table is a favorite of mine. The food is amazing, the service is incredible, and the ambiance is precious. My husband and I adore this place and come often!!

Yelp
My husband saw this place on instagram and decided we should try it. We pulled into the parking lot which was completely full so I called to see where to park and they said down the street by the warehouses. Didn't seem very safe parking our nice car so far from the restaurant. We had reservations and were seated right away. The interior is very small and they had the servers answering calls and seating people. The service was slow, but they were all very nice. We ordered the mussels as our appetizer. They were delicious with great flavors. We then ordered the duck and the seafood pasta. Both dishes were very disappointing. My husband and I had a few bites of each and just decided we couldn't eat it, the pasta tasted liked burn garlic and the taste was so overpowering that I just couldn't eat more than 2-3 bites. Definitely won't be coming back.

Yelp
Good food and service; Able to get in as a walk in without issue on weekday evening thankfully.

Yelp
A 5-star+ experience! Cute little restaurant right off TC Jester. When I visit new cities I always try to find the local restaurants tourists wouldn't know about. This is that restaurant for Houston. It feels like the place to take out of town guests who want a delicious meal in the city without feeling like they are in the city. We felt very welcome here and Chef Elliott was actually the one who showed us to our table. PS: start with the Drunken Mussels appetizer. Delicious!
google avatar

Jooy C.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this cozy date spot for a while! It got pretty crowded during prime time but we were able to snag a table without wait when we arrived around 5-6pm. The servers were pleasant and warm, perfectly complementing the ambiance of the restaurant. The mussels are a MUST! The bucket comes with 4 pieces of savory toast and some of the fattest mussels I've ever seen, bathed in a delicious spicy seafood sauce. Our next favorite dish was the duck! The meat was perfectly cooked - slightly rare on the inside, crispy on the outside, and paired really well with the sweet potato spread it came with. We ordered the Gorgonzola Brussels spouts by recommendation but felt like the flavors were too strong with the sauce and blue cheese. Would probably pass on this dish next time, but I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other main items!

Yelp
I can't believe I am just trying this place. We came by on a Friday night and were able to get seated right away. They have a very cute patio to sit outside. All of their staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the octopus, Brussels sprouts, blackened cod and NY strip. The steak was cooked perfectly and the fish was excellent, full of flavor. Apps were also great! Really enjoyed eating here, it has a great neighborhood vibe and prices and reasonable for the quality of food. Will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu!

Yelp
We finally got to eat here for the first time since moving to the area. They're usually always booked for dinner but we were able to get a table last night. For our apps, we got the octopus and the bread board. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the bread board sit the miso butter. Both do the apps were fantastic! The octopus was cooked perfectly and the slaw that was served with it complemented it well. The sourdough bread was freshly baked and I scraped up all the butter with the bread. The entrees in our opinion were ok. We liked the apps better. We got the steak and the pork chop. The pork chop had a nice crust to it, but it was dry. The steak was good but we asked for medium rare and it was overcooked. The veggies and the mashed potatoes were very good though. We ended the meal with a slice of cake and I would save space for dessert! We will be back but won't get the same entrees. Service was great and the restaurant had a very chill vibe.

Yelp
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I made reservations for my husband's birthday after rave reviews on a local blog. I was assured by many it would be flawless and amazing, and it was!! We love places where we feel special/like family. I made a reservation, letting them know it was my husband's birthday. They opened the door for us and greeted us by name, with warm birthday wishes. Elliott came over and introduced himself and personally wished my husband a happy birthday. The space is darling! The food - We ordered UP! *Bread board with Miso butter - We forced ourselves NOT to eat the whole thing. *Octopus - We've had it all over the world - this was the best we've ever had. Wedge Salad - Also a favorite we order a lot - Best we've ever had. Ribs and Brussels sprouts - Again, best Brussels we've ever had. Mussels and prawns/shrimp - amazing - fantastic portion, and we were glad we had a little bread left. The sauce! OMG. Pork Chop with Crab Butter and Steak with chimichuri - My husband loved the perfect smoke on the chop, I loved the crab butter spin. The steak - perfectly cooked, great flavor. We were about to bust (we had to go boxes), and Chef Elliott brought a delicious piece of spice cake with a candle. Still thinking about that too! The wines are unique and special. We took recommendations and it was a delicious adventure. The staff (Seth was our main Server) is very knowledgeable on their wine list. We loved how Chef Elliott and his team treated guests. It was obvious they care and they're passionate about what they do. Can't wait to return! We were so enchanted, I forgot to take pictures. I forgot I even had a phone...lol. We had a party at our home the next day, and I'm pretty sure we raved to every person who walked in our door.

Angela F.

Yelp
Seth met us warmly and offered us the option of dining inside or outside. We chose outside and it was super cute, simple yet classy. He and Albert checked on us frequently to be sure we had everything we needed. The food....amazing. The octopus and coleslaw were so unique and it may be these best octopus I ever had. We also had the lamb chops which were tasty along with the spinach and mashed potatoes. Seth suggested the carrot cake they had special from a local baker. At this point we trusted Seth completely. We ordered it and it did not disappoint. Super moist. Not overly sweet. Excellent. Will definitely be going back again and again. We didn't order wine but noticed that Albert was going above and beyond to ensure the folks at the next table had the perfect pairing for their meal.
google avatar

Jill K.

Yelp
We had a great experience and are looking forward to returning. Service was great. We enjoyed the wine. We ordered too much but it all sounded so good! We got two apps; the octopus and smoked ribs with sprouts added. The ribs / sprouts was a huge portion. They were all delicious! For the mains we got the shrimp and grits and the lamb chops. The shrimp/grits was in an incredible broth. Everything had great flavors and we were stuffed!

Yelp
Ate at Elliot's Table with friends on Thursday night. Had driven by the restaurant for a few years, had it in my to dine list. Ambience and vibe is fun in a loud music sort of way. Service was fantastic as was the Brussels Sprouts appetizer(probably the best Brussels sprouts ever had). For dinner all of us had the Cod (see below). It was super yummy and cooked to perfection. Taste was just perfectly spiced. The asparagus was nice, crunchy and just the right amount of olive oil. Ambience is a bit loud (music) making a little difficult to talk, but fine. The only disappointment was the dessert. None of us really eat desserts (for health reasons), but we wanted to keep chatting so we ordered. It was a beautiful slice of chocolate cake, but oh so dry. This was disappointing after great meal. Not sure why they would serve this cake, like a three day old cake from Kroger or HEB.

Cheri C.

Yelp
Can I give this establishment 10 STARS?? Service was over and above expectations and the food was phenomenal! All servers and Elliott himself all work as a team and I felt like a regular there. We will definitely return for more great food (the mussels and miso crusted salmon were outstanding!!) and friendly people!!!

Yelp
Finally made it to this cute place after moving to the neighborhood over 2 yrs ago. We walked in on a Saturday evening and was able to get a table without a reservation, but this place is 'boutique' and has limited tables, so I suggest making a reservation or calling ahead. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Our waiter offered several wine suggestions, in which we opted for a bottle. The menu was very diverse... we went with the waiter recommendations. The cucumber and tomato salad was AMAZING! Nothing like I would have guessed. Very large portion, so get it to share amongst 2-3ppl. My fiancée had the crab fettuccine, which he loved and nearly licked his plate. I had the stead dinner which was a healthy portion that I barely ate half of. Great flavor! Highly recommend, especially for an intimate date night or wine dinner date with a friend!

Yelp
We had the best dining experience in such a long time. We wish we lived closer!! The food is beyond delicious. So fresh & filling. The service is next to none. They were SO accommodating and made me feel right at home. I do not know their names but they were just wonderful. I should've gotten their names. Our baby was extremely overtired and fussy from a long day at the zoo and I was so stressed about it, & our servers were nothing but friendly! They even gave me a little sample rose to take the edge off - LOL So happy to have celebrated our anniversary here!

Yelp
Ambiance, wine, and food were all delicious. Service and other diners were kind and prompt. We even had our 4 month old with us and (while he was on his best behavior) we still had a fantastic evening. It was a small venue, so get a reservation or get there early. You won't want to miss this hidden gem.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Everything about this place is 5 stars. The service, the food, and the ambiance. Intimate venue with an amazing menu. Elliot himself served our food. Will be back soon!

Charday W.

Yelp
Great food and service! I'll definitely be back! The most flavorful lamb chops I've had in a while

Yelp
I love it I come here often when I wanna feel fancy ...food is always great vibe is always good atmosphere always nice

Kurt N.

Yelp
Quaint restaurant and Elliott and two servers were on top of game. Octopus was nice and black cod very good. Portions large. Have the guys choose your wine as lots of small vineyards - will be back.

Yelp
A wonderful ambiance with even better food. This place is small and quaint but the food is so amazing. I would try everything if I could.
google avatar

Katherine T.

Yelp
A cozy restaurant with a warm ambiance and attentive staff! Elliot himself was walking around helping every guest. We ordered all of the appetizers and they were all tasty! My favorites were the brussel sprouts and octopus. The octopus was tender with a light crisp on the outside. Brussel sprouts were crispy and flavorful. Great place if you're looking for a new American restaurant to try in the Heights
google avatar

Ted A.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant great vibe , food even better a must try. Love this place. Service is amazing have been there three times.

Yelp
I came here for the first time in October for my Birthday dinner and Im glad I chose Elliot's the food is delicious. The service was excellent and the waiter was attentive. The restaurant is small so, I suggest that you make a reservation. Our food did take bit long but, was worth the wait. I will definitely come back agin. Oh, forgot to mention the wine menu is excellent lots to choose from.

Joe M.

Yelp
If you're looking for the quintessential unassuming place for a great meal, you find it here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is amazing with great care taken while preparing it. I didn't snap a photo of the cucumber tomato salad, but I wish I had. It was one of the best salads I've ever tried. I can't wait to come back and try this place again. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu.

Yelp
Very charming restaurant with delicious food. The interior is pretty small but they also have some outside seating. The food was great. Drunken mussels - amazing, broth was so delicious I almost picked up the bowl and drank it Thai chili ribs w/ added sprouts - the ribs were well cooked and flavorful, sprouts were deep fried and tossed in a sauce, surprisingly not spicy at all Cucumber & tomato salad - one of the best salads I've ever had, would come back for this alone Creole salmon w/ crab - salmon was well cooked with delicious grits and veggies Duck breast - my duck was a bit over cooked but they actually brought me replacement duck without me even saying anything about it! The chef must have realized he over cooked it On top of the great food, service was flawless all evening. Our water glasses were kept filled and the waitresses stopped by diligently to check on us.
google avatar

Candy C.

Yelp
This is over due. Placed an order to go. If you plan to order to go, don't wait the queue fills up. I liked that they explained the queue and wait. He also asked what kind of car I drove and came out to greet us as soon as we parked. Excellent curbside service. Ordered Drunken Mussels (deliciousness, nice portion too), Cucumber & Tomato salad, TC Turkey Club (nice balanced flavors, crunchy fried Turkey and a softy, fluffy bun... winner and crispy fries), Crow's Fried Chicken (my dining companion enjoyed the moist crunchy chicken) and Duck Breast (my dining companion enjoyed the flavor just wish there was more of it). Will be back for more.

Brad C.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal at Elliot's Table tonight. We started with the Gorgonzola Crispy Sprouts and the bread service. Both were great, but the sprouts were exceptional. If you like Gorgonzola order the sprouts. For mains we had the Pork Chop, Ribs and Grits and Mac&Cheese with Shrimp. We enjoyed all three. For desert we ordered the Key Lime Pie, Olive Oil Cake and the Strawberry Cake. We would order all three again. Overall an excellent dinner!!

Jeff B.

Yelp
Charming place in an otherwise off-putting location.. But don't be put off. It's well worth a visit. I've been there several times and have been very favorably impressed by essentially everything: the menu; the quality of food; the quality of service; the friendly atmosphere; clientele that feel like they're from the neighborhood, but in reality they're probably from all over, like me; the wine list; the tab. I go there whenever I'm in Houston.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Love the food and the service! Hot tip: always get a slice of cake. It's the perfect neighborhood spot :)

Yelp
Quickly became one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Reminds me of the original Jonathan's the rub spot that was next to the Sunny's. Small shop with big flavor & friendliest staff you've seen.

Yelp
After plan A on a Saturday evening fell through, we were looking for a restaurant in the area and Elliot's Table came up. I had been wanting to check out Elliot's for a while so not too shabby of a plan B at all. Elliott's Table is located in a small shopping center but we were able to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is itty bitty. One of the smallest I've seen in town. That means that tables come at a premium but since we were there for a later dinner, luckily we were able to snag a table. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but a little too much of a chatty Cathy for my liking. We started off with their bread service which is a very generous portion. Normally, I'm not a big fan of paying for bread at a restaurant but this was worth it. There were several different types of breads and butter. We couldn't finish it between the two of us. For my entree, I went with the duck. It was cooked perfectly, medium-rare, and served with veggies and mashed potatoes. Not mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes. Butternut squash mashed potatoes. If you're looking for a nice meal with nice ambiance, add Elliot's Table to the list.

Shankz G.

Yelp
Such a wonderful little place. Service and food was amazing. As a small business, we can appreciate excellent service and value. Small but mighty. We love that they actually close the doors for two weeks to have everybody vacay and train to bring a new selection of entree's & wine to the customer. Good vibes....will definetly be back!

Yelp
We love Elliot's! ! ! It's great for date night at least once a month... not too loud for conversation but still plays *great* music and has cool cafe vibes. Elliot himself is always there, and we love it when he happens to be our server. He's SOO hard working and enthusiastic and always makes us feel special. Our favorite dishes are the wedge salad (gigantic), the ribs (not normally a rib fan and wow!!), the salmon and the chicken Parmesan. Don't get so full you can't get a slice of the rotating cake. Tonight's slice of Hawaiian really hit the spot.

Yelp
There a few restaurants open only during dinner service and this was one that we wanted to try. We had a double date and called ahead for a reservation on a Friday night. Located by I10, it's tucked away in a small plaza. There's about 10 parking spaces, no valet needed. The exterior had a few tables and the inside had maybe 5 or 6 tables. Very quaint and compact. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a few apps and it was my favorite part of our meal -mussels with toast Solid. Very tasty and not on a lot of menus -ribs and brussel sprouts Ribs were cooked well and sprouts with gorgonzola was delicious and the best thing I had all night. -wedge salad Delicious salad. Their ranch sauce was very tasty and the cheese with the salad worked really well For entrees, our table got burgers, salmon, and steak & fries. The cheddar burger was alright. It was cooked well but I didn't enjoy the flavor combo of the sauces and toppings. The salmon looked a little too blackened, did not taste it. The steak was a strip and look cooked well. Again, didn't taste it. Would definitely order more apps next time and skip the burger. Solid pick.

Yelp
Always delivers great flavorful dishes. My mother does not want me taking her to other American fusion restaurants because she compares them all to Elliot's table. A small intimate restaurant with big flavors. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I've brought to Elliot's table has loved it.

Anna Z.

Yelp
The mussels, duck and chicken Parmesan were delicious! Lovely place for a date night and the service was superb!

Yelp
Excellent food, attentive staff and love the atmosphere! The outdoor patio is beautiful- can't wait until it's cool enough to enjoy.

Yelp
I visited for dinner a couple of weeks ago for the first time. What brought me here was reading Alison Cooks' review about their hamburger and fries and the glowing review she gave. I made a reservation and arrived on time knowing that they only offered outdoor dining during Covid. Fortunately the weather was very nice that early evening. The inside portion of the restaurant is very small and currently closed. The outdoor eating area consists of a couple of small tables along the restaurant front and a few tables in the parking lot that are in a specially designated area and cordoned off from the parking lot traffic. Also there are a couple of tables on the side of the restaurant with a small tarp like awning covering them. Don't come here to dine in if it's cold or rainy. Get it to go. Of course I asked for the cheddar burger which comes with a 1/2 lb. hand formed patty of Akaushi beef with arugula, tomato, onion, house sauce and the french fries that come with it for $13. Price wise, for a specialty burger like this with fries, it was a real deal. The food came out in about 15 minutes and looking at it I was immediately pleased and thought it was going to be an easy 4 score wise. This was one of those meals where the first few bites were better than the last few bites. As I continued eating the burger, I enjoyed it less. I'm not sure if it was the flavor of the beef or the house sauce. It was probably the sauce because Akaushi is primo beef. Even after the meal, I decided that the taste just wasn't for me. I think the fries are double fried and they were good but no more. Obviously my experience was very different from Ms. Cooks' which saddened me. Like I said, the meal is a real value but didn't suit my tastes. Table service during the meal was very good. This is a two man operation with the chef and host/waiter/busboy so they stay busy. Even though I wasn't a fan of this meal, I do like this small restaurant and believe it serves very good other menu items. Maybe it isn't fair to write a review for a restaurant after just ordering a burger and fries from them so I will give a 3 overall but probably wouldn't order this meal again and if I did would have them skip the house sauce. Also, because of the outside only dining option and winter coming, I might not get back here for a while.

Yelp
Our most favorite spot in our neighborhood and in all of Houston really. We just had Elliot cater our 120 person wedding at their event space venue in the Cottage Grove Neighborhood (Cottage Grove Gardens) near the Heights. The Portuguese Octopus is to die for! Our must have every time we go. Also love the Thai Chili ribs, Mac and cheese, mussels, burger, salmon pesto dish, shrimp and grits, cucumber feta salad...everything is phenomenal! Our first time there, we went back 2 more times that week and have told all our friends they must check it out. Delicious wine selection too! Great customer service always!

Yelp
My husband and I loved Elliot's Table. The food was delicious from the appetizer (Sprouts) to the entrees (Cod Romesco and Chimichurri Steak) to dessert (key lime pie). It was all sooooo good. We hope to go back again soon.
