This place is a true hidden gem that I almost hate to share with you all, but it's too good not to.
First, let's get the small stuff out of the way--though honestly, it's all just nitpicking when compared to the greatness of this restaurant. There are no online reservations, but that just adds to the charm. Parking is a bit tricky; it's a small lot, so I'd recommend taking an Uber or having a friend drop you off to save the stress. And yes, there's a gas station next door--but no, it won't ruin your experience.
Now, let's talk about what really matters--the positives. This place is a neighborhood treasure. The ingredients are so fresh and grown on-site or at their other location. The owner is hands-on, working right alongside the amazing staff, creating an atmosphere that's both high-end and welcoming. Service is impeccable--quick, friendly, and personal, but with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel right at home.
The wine list is impressive, though mostly by the bottle. We sat outside on a perfect evening, with heaters and little flames adding a cozy touch to the ambiance. Absolutely perfect.
The waitstaff works together seamlessly, so you get the whole team's attention without ever having to wait. Our server (who we absolutely adored but I can't recall his name) even showed us photos of the entrees to help us decide. He recommended the cucumber and tomato salad and the chimichurri steak, and even though I'm not a fan of cucumbers or tomatoes, we trusted him--and I'm so glad we did! The salad was bursting with flavors that were unexpectedly delicious and perfectly balanced. When we couldn't finish it, they immediately boxed it up so we could make room for the steak. We swapped the roasted veggies for asparagus, and even though it might not have been as beautifully plated dish, it was packed with flavor. Although I wouldn't really call it a steak (steaks in my opinion stand alone, with no sauces or condiments, but I was raised on a cattle ranch), it was an entree masterclass in delicious, layered tastes.
As the night came to a close, we declined dessert, but our server left the bill face down and encouraged us to stay as long as we liked. That simple gesture spoke volumes about the level of care and service they provide.
In short, you can't leave here disappointed. The owner is actively involved (so if you have a problem, politely speak up and I have no doubt it will be properly addressed), and the staff is trained to provide top-notch service. I'm hoping they rotate the menu throughout the year, but no matter what you order, you can't go wrong. Highly, highly recommend!
