11 Seattle Breweries with Delicious In-House Food Menus

"Elliot Bay Brewing Co. has three locations in the Seattle area, but the closest to its watery namesake is the original spot in West Seattle. Here, patrons can delight in an expansive menu of  beer styles and dishes that include eggrolls and chicken katsu alongside sandwiches and salads. Co-owner Todd Carden recommends washing down the fish and chips with the Elliot Bay Pilsner, as “the crisp and refreshing beer balances the heartiness of the plate.” For those craving darker flavors, Carden suggests the No Doubt Stout with the No Doubt Stout BBQ Burger. A match made in burger-brew heaven, the beer is used in the burger sauce while the buns are made using spent grain from the brewing process." - Brianna Gunter

Google
Tried four different entrees, and all of them were delicious. Yummy fries as well. Pretzel and beer cheese was super yummy. They did not have Coke products, but something called Seattle Cola instead.. which tastes very similar to coke. Definitely would get the fish Tacos again. They were excellent. Love the sauce that came with them. Would definitely go back to this place. They also have cute outdoor sitting area.

Google
We sat outside and had a great lunch with excellent service. Thank you our lovely server for doing such a great job when she was the only server. Our food was excellent. We will be back.

Google
Cozy environment! Great food. Update: Todd reached out and apologized for the mistreatment. He affirmed many times that they have a respect culture and will address the staff about it. Thank you Todd! Our server was very nice and helpful. Served some delicious allergy friendly salmon tacos while my boys had some dessert. Unfortunately I could hear the kitchen staff discussing the gossip about me. It gets pretty old to be slandered. I’m a nice person but people saying I’m not makes people wonder and discuss me. Would appreciate the gossip being done not within earshot. Thank you

Whitney Moore

Google
Elliott Bay Brewing is a must-visit spot for lunch! I can’t say enough good things about their salmon and Caesar salad—it's consistently delightful, the salmon is perfectly cooked and the salad pairs wonderfully with an Arnold Palmer. Adam is so fun and always pours a mean Arnold Palmer!

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a vibe tonight! Our bartender Brynna. S was super friendly and really made us feel taken care of. She had the best energy and even put us onto a wine that totally hit the spot. You can tell she loves what she does—it made our night that much better. Will definitely be back for another round at her bar!

Google
We stopped here for a quick drink & decided to get a snack. The server was a little busy & not really too happy to be at work but later as time went on she warmed up to us & became more friendly. The food was delicious & I loved the fact the fries came with tartar sauce. The fries were piping hot & were great with the cider I ordered. The lavender basil cider was delicious. There was no wait on a Friday night & there was plenty of parking across the street.

Google
We actually had a great time at Elliott Bay Brewery & Pub. I say actually because we were expecting mediocre conditions. We actually had some of the best hot wings we’ve had outside of our kitchen. The fries were delicious too and the dipping sauces for super flavorful. They have an outdoor patio but the inside energy is pretty fun. They don’t serve cocktails because it’s a parade, but that didn’t cross my mind so I’m telling you here.

Google
Great cozy brewpub located in Alaska Junction. Excellent beers with regular styles not just the fad styles. Incredible staff and very friendly bartender!

Angus M.

Yelp
Best battered cod in West Seattle, and that's saying a lot! Their self-named IPA is just the right hops. Madison gave great service too!

Yelp
We absolutely love this restaurant! The food is totally outstanding, atmosphere is super chill, nice and dark inside. They always have a game on and the staff is amazing. They aren't "fake nice" but actually really nice people and funny too. They have great specials as well, 10/10 for sure!

Yelp
Heard from Todd about my complaint and he is going to address what happened and was very apologetic and affirmative of a respect culture. Thank you Todd!

Yelp
I have been going to this place for a very long time, probably since 1998! It has always had great food, fun atmosphere and great beer. We also go to the Burien location which is also great. Their fries are awesome and the nachos are probably one of the best. The added cost for sour cream and guacamole is kind of a bummer but it's needed. Their burgers are always great and the bun is unique and delicious. Unfortunately our server was kind of meh this last visit. Service wasn't bad but just not friendly. Food comes out fast and drinks are taken care of! Highly recommend it if you are in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
I never write reviews about pricing. This is an exception. Got the Brewhouse Quesadilla with chicken & guacamole. It was the size of a $2 Taco Bell soft taco. But cost $16 before tip & tax! Are you serious? And it was terrible.
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy interior with table, bar top, and booth seating. There's also outdoor covered patio seating that's inviting. The service is friendly and the place has a great neighborhood feel. The burgers and organic beers are tasty. It's a bummer that the burgers don't come with fries and fries are an additional add on. Happy hour is daily from 3-6 pm. The happy hour's happy lil' cheeseburger is tasty and smaller than the non-happy hour burger. The price for the happy lil' cheeseburger recently increased to $8.95 and that's without fries.

Yelp
Looking for a place to grab lunch while in West Seattle and a brewery is our sweet spot, so we decided to give Elliott Bay a try. All of the booths were full, so we opted to sit at the bar. We kept it simple and both ordered burgers. It's always a bit of a pet peeve of mine when the restaurant asks how you want the burger prepared and the patty is the type where it's inevitably going to be cooked well-done (thinner patty). I'm typically willing to overlook the cook on the burger if the flavor is excellent but neither of us were overly impressed. Fries were fine. I really enjoyed the hazy IPA I ordered which was probably the highlight of the experience. Service was fine, nothing particularly memorable. I'd probably opt for someplace different if I was in the area again.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great quality drinks/ food! Stumbles upon this hidden gem while wandering around and it did not disappoint. The Baja lager was my personal favorite beer especially with the lime. I ordered the California Ave burger and it was made very well! I wasn't a huge fan of the shredded lettuce on the burger (just a personal preference) but everything was very well put together. The fries are crispy and crunchy with a light amount of salt. I was a huge fan of their ranch as it is made in house! Definitely will be back again soon.

Yelp
Great food, amazing beer, friendly staff... What more can you ask for? If you like IPAs, I recommend their Organic Demolition Ale.

David D.

Yelp
Elliott Bay's management decision to allow only one check for groups does not serve the customer. Very few people carry cash these days, so requiring only one payer and then to settle up individually is virtually impossible. Since order taking is all computerized, what is the problem taking orders for each person or couple? The Boeing Employees Choir meets on Tuesdays and have for years stopped in at Elliot Bay for food, drinks and conversation. You policy is causing us to look elsewhere. We like your food. We like your staff and we like your atmosphere. Tuesdays are seldom busy. Could you please accommodate us? Dave, Federal Way

Yelp
We came into Elliot Bay at about 7:30 PM on a Monday night. Despite it being fairly full, we were able to be seated right away, and were in and out within a half hour. Our server was awesome and made excellent recommendations! They have both physical menus and QR codes. I ordered a pint of the Cherry Sour. This beer is SOUR-it will make you pucker! Definitely a sipper, but I loved it. What a bold beer! For dinner I got the Chicken Fajita Salad. This salad is HUGE-this size would be perfect to split between 2-4 people. Their grilled chicken was grilled perfectly though, and all their veggies were fresh. I was stuffed from this salad and had more salad to spare. I should have come with two stomachs! But they nailed the quality. What a cozy spot in West Seattle! I would love to come back.

Yelp
Exactly what I wanted: great beer, good bar food. Go here for chill vibes in an area where you can hold a conversation. Not too loud, good spot.

Yelp
Came for early dinner at the Elliott Bay West Seattle. We wanted quick eat, comfort food, good service. We got a every thing here. We ordered The Shroomer Burger and Elliotte Bay Cobb Salad w blue cheese dressing. We shared it among two people, but it was more than we could eat. Be careful not to overdo the salad dressing because the cobb salad bacon and blue cheese are salty. The menu is easy to choose and you will find what you want to eat.

Yelp
Standard crowd-pleasing bar and restaurant at which nearly anyone could find something they like. Relatively diverse menu with a respectable amount of vegetarian options. Food was ok.
google avatar

Wedge A.

Yelp
It has been a disappointing decline in the food options offered on Elliott Bay Brewing's options. For a time, there were a couple of decent vegan options and some other options that they could modify to make vegan. Now there are no real vegan options. It is sad to lose yet another dining option in the California Junction.
google avatar

Larry S.

Yelp
Great local spot.. excellent choices for gluten-free items and modifications.. tastey food!
google avatar

Stephen P.

Yelp
Friendly service and easy check in kiosk. I ended up sitting at the bar which was way fast on getting beerz and burgers. I've eaten here twice so far and enjoyed the atmosphere and people! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Katrina V.

Yelp
The stars are mainly for the choices of draft beers available and good service. I tried their ahi tuna salad, and as tuna didn't seem fresh I ate the salad. Next time I may try the burgers instead, as that's more of what their expertise seem to be.

Yelp
On the search for a brew and food I found this spot using Yelp. Thank you Yelp as always for helping me. Parking in West Seattle can be tricky but fortunately there are plenty of pay public parking lots which are convenient and affordable. The street parking is for two hours if you know you how long you are staying. The outside seating area is still set up here and I imagine a leftover from COVID. I took a seat outside and a friendly server came out quickly. I ordered a flight to try a few before committing to a pint. The flight consists of five 5 ounce pours. I chose 4 and asked the waitress to surprise me on the last. Here are my thoughts on the beers. Baja Lager 4.5%- 10/10 Excellent mexican style refreshing beer. (Waitress choice) Pugent Plunge 6.3% -7/10 Least favorite due to the hoppiness. A crisp fresh IPA. North Atlantic Haze 5.1%-10/10 Looked like a hazy, smooth, refreshing and tasty. Cloud Cover Haze 5.3% - 10/10 My favorite! Not hazy looking but my favorite. Smooth with a slightly sweet after taste. Easy drinking for sure! No Doubt Stout, Organic Oatmeal Stout 6.5% - 10/10 Dark and delicous! Watch out for this one! More of a cold weather beer but smooth as can be. And with a higher percentage could really do some damage if you know what I mean. I ordered tofu tacos off the happy hour menu which were fresh, spicy, and just right to go with beer.As the heat picked up outside I moved inside to finish my pint. The inside was cool and welcoming too. 80's music playing, yeah!, and fun vibes to start my summer vacation. Cheers and happy yelping everyone.

Robert K.

Yelp
Make sure you stop in for a flight or before your flight for a pint of beer. This place offers a wide variety of different beers on tap which was great. Was able to get some great darker beer and a lighter Mexican style lager. Also was a tad bit hungry and they did not disappoint with the fried chuminh vegan egg rolls. The lettuce wrap and the spicy sweet chili sauce made it perfect. I am honestly happy that we ordered this because it was honestly mouth watering.

Yelp
After exploring Alki Beach, my husband and I decided a bite and a brew before heading back to Denver. Although we aren't the most "beer" people, we opted to try Elliott's Bay based on the number of positive reviews and so glad we did! The neighborhood is eclectic, trendy and perfectly walkable! We snagged street parking around the corner and made our way in! The interior is rustic and offers rich wood booths, a large bar and gives off the Pacific NorthWest coastal vibes! We easily found ourselves right at home! We were greeted by a sweet hostess who was also our server, who gave us the rundown of the menu, offered suggestions on order and promptly brought over our beers to tap. The Elliott Bay IPA for me and the Lager for my husband was just the ticket. Our drinks were brought promptly, our waters were constantly refilled and our food came in record time. Each time we interacted with our waitress, she was friendly and welcoming. As for the eats - I opted to nosh on the fried cod sandwich - which was perfectly breaded and fried, delicious in taste and massive in size! Hubs settled on a burger which he enjoyed! When back in Seattle - I'd venture here again!

Yelp
Updating my review. While the scenario was incredibly frustrating, and easily avoidable, the restaurant reached out to apologize. I really appreciate a business that takes the time to respond to customers. It's also my daughter's favorite restaurant, so we will probably give them another chance.

Yelp
This joint is one of our favs! It's pretty much our go-to since it's not just good food and drinks but also super kid friendly. There's outdoor seating and tons of space inside. The service is always good and fast! There are a couple tvs for sport games and a good selection for drinks. Their own brews are all organic, which is a rare find. For the kiddos they have a great menu to choose from! Love this place

Samantha L.

Yelp
Great experience! The waitstaff demonstrated amazing teamwork, service and having fun. The kitchen had an open window so we can see them changing gloves, cutting veggies and cooking everything fresh. Food was coming out fast and everything looks and tasted amazing. Music was on point. Definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Had a couple hours to kill before flying out. Hey siri "breweries near me", uber dropped us at Elliott Bay and we were not disappointed. Beers were great, kids dug the local cane sugar soda option, burger and chicken sandwich were moist and delicious. Other two had chicken Cobb salads and were raving about the chicken. Get the tots and house made aïoli sauce!! Only complaint is that they don't jar it so I could take it with me!! Staff was rad, three to four different gals popped by table to chat and make sure we were good!! Definitely will return when in area.

Yelp
Nice outdoor space with excellent food & drinks in the heart of West Seattle. Great wait staff

Anne W.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch yesterday. This is a great neighborhood gem. Friendly service and good food. Fish tacos were delicious. My favorite there is the chicken curry. Perfect spot for families or grab a stool at the bar

Susan S.

Yelp
Warm cozy atmosphere, delicious lunch. Generous salad and homemade soup. Can't wait to go for dinner.

Yelp
So dissapointed in this meal. I thought I was going to a restaurant associated with similarly named ones in West Seattle and Burien. After 6 minutes of Goolging I am still confused about that. This review is about the one in Lake City. Despite being one big room it was not too loud, and we were seated in a booth by the window which was nice. I paid for a small Ceasar salad that was a bit of limp lettuce with greasy dressing. Over powering the lettuce were many dry croutons and a lot of parmesan. Also ordered was the turkey pot pie, with sugar added?! It was not good. A cup of chili served lukewarm was very untraditional and could be called stew. I was looking for the crisp hot hand cut fries I've had at what I thought was a companion restaurant. Since the fries were also lukewarm it was hard to tell if they were handcut potatoes or extruded mash. If we hadn't been very jet-lagged and very hungry we would have sent it all back to the kitchen. It's a shame since Lake City doesn't have many restaurant options. With tip, this was $50 wasted.

Yelp
Delightful! I came here after a day at Seacrest Park hungry and cold. I rarely am in this part of town so I'm always thrilled to see how cute it is. I didn't want to sit outside so went in and found an available table noted as such with a placard that designated it as available. My friend and I waited awhile before our waitress came in but I saw her outside as well so it appeared she had a lot of ground to cover. I ordered a cider and the blue cheese burger. My friend ordered an assortment of food. The burger was great - cooked perfectly, pleasantly blue cheese, and the fries that went with it was good. The cider was excellent - not too sweet and nice and light. I enjoyed my experience here. It was mostly quiet as majority of people were sitting outside in the tent. I felt it was a little odd how quiet it was but that's not the restaurant's fault - just a sign of the times. If I find myself back in the area I will be sure to stop by again.

Yelp
Servers are so friendly and I love the salads. They have big portions and pretty fast service. I love the blackened Caesar salad and the ahi wrap.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Ate at Elliott bay Brewing yesterday and had a blackened Caesar salad that I about licked my plate clean. It was the most perfectly cooked blackened salmon with an amazing chipotle Caesar dressing. Fun restaurant for all ages. Three of us dined and all had rave reviews of food, staff and ambience.

Evan S.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant. They have a delicious tofu sandwich and are very flexible with my order. My only complaint is that they removed my favorite item, the curry potato wedges
google avatar

Ted L.

Yelp
Wonderful neighborhood Brewpub. Extrovert approved. Always busy, sit at the bar and order a pint of no doubt stout. Strike up a conversation with the person next to you. Favorite sandwich's are Brewers Burger and California Ave w/ Chicken. Veggies instead of fries so you can have a 2nd beer. Permission granted!

Eryn B.

Yelp
The food was delicious; great options for kids & vegetarians. The service was on point & a large beer selection.

Yelp
It's a shame to admit out loud that I've never eaten here. Anyways, I was at the gym thinking about food and had remember my brother mentioning in our group chat that the wings here are really good and reminded him of Winger's wing that we no longer can get. He said it wasn't as tart as most buffalos wings. I'm general not a big buffalo sauce kinda gal. Mango habanero, garlic parm, anything but buffalo. it's probably because they're never really spicy and just way too vinegary. I ordered to go while meandering around the gym. I love being order to order without having to call and speak to someone. Ordering was a breeze and I was excited I didnt have to cook once I got home. I ordered the wings and some fish & chips with fries. I think my eyes are always hungier than my stomach by the time I got to enjoy dinnner I had about a whole piece of fish and 2/3 wings and was stuffed. The fish & chips were so flaky and portion were huge. I'd have to say I do prefer battered fish vs breaded. The wings are really good as well. Theyre not as vinegary as other places and it has a nice subtle kick, could be spicier to me. I didnt taste anything sweet about the wings but thats okay. I'm just glad I had leftover for lunch at work today.
google avatar

Miranda W.

Yelp
My experience varied whether I was eating outside, inside, or even take away. I definitely get better service when I eat outside versus inside. If you order to go- the bar ignores you unless you wave your arms and pretend to be dying... If you do go, I have always loved their Ahi Tuna salad. It's done to perfection every time. My partner always gets the Reuben and always likes their variety of beer on tap.
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
Been coming here for 20 years. Food has always been great. Unfortunately the service has gone downhill with the introduction of technology. We walked in, added our names to the waitlist on an iPad and sat there for 10 minutes without a single person acknowledging our presence. Our expected wait time kept increasing so we decided to leave and go next door.
google avatar

Susana M.

Yelp
It took a few minutes to get seated, but it was worth the wait. The jambalaya is the perfect heat for this 47yr old Spaniard. I was pleasantly surprised to find this in a neighborhood of mostly bland. Such an eclectic menu, but somehow they make it work. I love that I can have a one day, & chips another day, and Cuban with quinoa. My taste buds thank you.
google avatar

Matthew Y.

Yelp
Went there on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty busy. So we decided to sit at the bar. Quick service to start with. Ordered a couple of their beers and a Cuban sandwich. Glad we split the Cuban it was huge. Nice pressed bread and lots of meat inside. Decent fries. Stayed for a second beer. Would go back again and try something else on the menu next time I'm in town. California Street is a mecca for foodies. Lots to choose from. Glad we went here. Live life to it's fullest.
google avatar

Tahni H.

Yelp
This place was nice little spot for a first date. Plenty of space for good conversation. Covid safety protocol is being well followed. The beer selction here is vast! I was impressed with so many options at such a small brewery! I really enjoyed the two brews I had here, but sadly the food was a bit of a let down. It just didn't have the amount of flavor that I am looking for. That being said, it is a brewhouse that specializes in beer, not food. I am willing to come back and give this joint another try by ordering an entrée instead of appetizers next time. Portions were fair, prices are fair, food was fair, brews were great! See you next time Elliott's!
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Now that's a good burger! I got the California and hubby got the Shroomer. Our toddler had the kids platter. Good food all around and very quick too!
google avatar

Ali L.

Yelp
Great beer. The service was ok when I was there, but it was kind of busy. The bar seating can fill up fast. Loved the paintings of seattle, and the other decorations. Great atmosphere- I loved the brick wall architecture. I had an Ipa- not all of the beers on the menu were available which was a bit confusing. Loved the ipa though, and they had a good variety of sizes.
google avatar

Artemis P.

Yelp
I never visited this place pre-covid because I don't drink, but my husband brought me the curry dish from here a few months ago and I was so surprised that he got it from what I assumed was just another random bar on California ave. I just remembered that this place existed again and both the presentation and taste are *chefs kiss* That's a high compliment and I feel like a fool for judging this place in my mind before even trying it- it's definitely not basic pub fare! When we walked in to pick up our order, the woman behind the counter was so kind and looked like she was working hard. I'm so glad they're able to stay open during the pandemic and provide takeout service, Once they open up fully I can't wait to see what their dine-in service is like!
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Loved everything about this place!!! We happened upon it, at Happy Hour no less - how fortuitous!!! We were seated quickly & ordered drinks. I was deciding on cider options so our waitress, Amazing Ashley, offered tasters. I opted for the ginger cider - which I have really been digging lately. Happy hour had some really tempting bites, we ordered the pulled pork sliders & panko chicken. We didn't think we'd be full, but the food was surprisingly filling. The sliders had the frizzled onions and were pretty generous portions. The panko chicken came with rice, 4 bite sized pieces, and some pickled veggies. It was scrumptious!! Pro-tip: No doubt Stout cake. $1.50 on HH but worth 4 times that IMHO.
google avatar

G G.

Yelp
This a go-to spot in the Alaska Junction. Great burgers, salads and their own beers on tap. Friendly servers too!

Yelp
I so wanna love Elliot Bay for its home crafted beers and pub grub, but I've eaten there many times and many tries but their kitchen, frankly, is just flat out bad at what they do. Fish and chips are a soggy mess of batter and tasteless previously frozen cod. Their burger doesn't even come close to filling out the size of the bun. Their fries are perennially flaccid no matter how hard I stress to make them extra crispy. I recently had an October special which should have been a no brainer. I mean, how can you screw up a brat. Well this kitchen did. The brat was burnt to a dry crisp. The bun was overly buttered and the promise of sauerkraut was the most measly portion that couldn't have been more than a tablespoon large. And speaking of beers, all your beers are crafted in house, so why the need to gouge us with $6.75 charge per pint. I mean, it's not like you have pay distributor fees because you make it on the premises. I want to support local, but time and again EBay disappoints.

Yelp
Nice upstairs area, quieter than the main floor. Sandwiches were plentiful and delicious. We had the reuben, Cuban, cheesesteak and tofu. Fries were crunchy and nicely seasoned. Nice selection of beers on tap, something for everyone
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
The beer is cold and good and the burgers are great - especially the No-doubt Stout burger. Highly recommended.
