This review is the tale of Meh ... expectations versus reality. Sadly, the reality won over.
We were so excited to make the drive down to West Seattle to experience what we read about and were wanting to experience - a delicious meal at a local brewery and enjoy their tasty brews. We left saying that it was only the beer that was worth the drive. :/
My wife had the fish and chips, while I had the Philly Cheese Steak. While the food was good, we have certainly had better and it was definitely not worth the 30 drive to W. Seattle. It was something that we could've gotten at any neighborhood pub/bar & grill. Another note about the Philly Cheese Steak ... I love a good Philly, but I'm no expert on them. However, this tasted more like a hamburger and had American cheese on it. Don't they usually have Moz or Provolone?
We were also hoping to have a big ol' pretzel for a appetizer, but they said their oven was broken and they couldn't make one! Whomp!
The good part ... the beer! We both had their Belgian Saison. Smooth, crisp, and easy drinking. That was the best part of the meal!
If I could do halves in a review, I'd give the Elliot Bay Brewery Pub 2.5 stars, but seeing as I can't ... I rounded down due to the lackluster results of the reality not meeting our expectations.
