A beloved bakery with a serious wood‑fired program; critics applaud its dough craft and changing, produce‑driven pies. It captures WNY’s farm‑to‑oven ethos in an easygoing café setting.

Google
An amazing and cozy spot to have your breakfast and start the day right! We got there just before the rush which was very lucky. The staff was super helpful and even recommended us spots to try in NYC (that was our destination) Will recommend anyone to try this out!! Food and bread was very fresh and on point. And the kitchen super clean 👌

Google
Had a breakfast bowl that was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and readily okay with changing the egg in my dish from a poached egg to scrambled. The inside of the bakery is well laid out and beautifully decorated.

Sara

Google
Super cool breakfast spot. Staff were so polite, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Loved the breakfast sandwich.

I heard about this place from work and went with my Mom for lunch today. This was our first time here and definitely not the last! The atmosphere was welcoming, the service helpful and the food delicious! We got cappuccinos and they were delicious and had pretty art. I had a house salad and the personal size mushroom pizza, while my Mom had chicken noodle soup and the smash burger. The food was absolutely delicious! We also got some cookies and muffins to go. The Brookie is super good it's a brownie/cookie. If you're in East Aurora it's definitely woth a visit!

Google
I was genuinely excited to try this place, but unfortunately the attitude from the front of house staff soured the entire experience. We received a very passive aggressive exchange and also clipped responses that gave us the vibe we were more of a burden rather than guests. The entire exchange was very negative. The food was decent but it’s hard to enjoy a meal when you feel like you are intruding. A restaurant is more than what’s on the plate and we will not be coming back.

Google
Really cute spot for food and drinks right off Main Street. We came on a busy Saturday and had to wait in a bit of a line to order and then again to get food but overall was very fast considering. There is plenty of seating and the staff is very friendly. Food was phenomenal, especially obviously the bread in the sandwiches and the other baked goods. The bread had a great crust and just the right amount of firmness to support the contents of the sandwich. Both the Cuban and the Philly were very flavorful and well balanced. It is a bit pricey but worth it for the experience and quality of food. Would highly recommend if you find yourself in East Aurora. 4.8/5 -BJ

Google
Was taken on a surprise breakfast date and this place was super cute! We went on a weekend and it was very busy with people and families constantly coming in and out. Ordered a couple breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and a latte. Wish the sandwiches were warmed up (maybe we just had to ask?), but overall everything tasted really good. Would definitely stop in again to get more pastries and another coffee!

Google
Everyone who works here is always very kind, attentive and accommodating. I have tried several different bakery and menu items and they are all delicious. Not to mention they make the most incredible golden chai. It’s truly exceptional every single time. The space is beautiful and always smells amazing because of the wood fired oven. An absolute favorite of mine in WNY.

Yelp
This cute but spacious bakery is always packed but I totally get it! Don't be discouraged because the line moves fast! There is a parking lot but also plenty of street parking. There are also seats at the front and in the back so it's perfect for your little furry friends! When you first walk in, you're greeted by ALL of the delicious pastries and baked goods ranging from donuts, scones, cookies, bread, etc. My favorite is their current special which was the strawberry rhubarb scone. It was super flavorful but also moist and the outside crumbled nicely if you know what I mean. My favorite is the breakfast sandwich. It came with bacon, egg, arugula, cheese, and aioli. I cannot say enough great things a place. Give it a try!!!!

Yelp
$7 for a 12" French batard, but what the hey. It's still hot from the oven. Cute rustic building, friendly staff, but there will be a wait. Wildly popular, parking is at a premium, so circle the block till you find a spot

Yelp
The feel of this place is very hipster/granola/rustic. It has a great feel to it in my opinion. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast around 9 and it was busy, but not overly packed. Plenty of room in the parking lot still with room on the street for parking too. My fiancé had the raspberry cheese danish and, according to him, it was the best danish he's ever had. He couldn't even speak after his first bite. I had a standard eggs and toast breakfast, which was just great too. Obviously it's nothing fancy, but jt hit the spot. The service is quick and there's plenty of room to sit. I don't live close by, but I think I'll make it a point to stop in whenever I'm around. I would definitely recommend others do the same!

Yelp
Order at the counter and they will bring you your food once it is ready. They are ALWAYS busy during breakfast/lunch, but the line comes and goes. Don't walk away if you see a lot of people, the turnover is quick and the food is worth it. The seasonal tartine will blow your mind, I promise. Very impressed with how the chefs layer the flavors. I highly recommend you grab a sweet. Their scones, macarons, and morning glory muffin are all solid choices.

Yelp
My salad was extraordinary! Especially with the additional artichokes Id definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Our family went at noon on Saturday and it was packed to the rafters: A very good sign. The line to order moved quickly, the food came out faster than expected, and everything was delicious! There's a parking lot, and seating outside both in the front and the back. I bought a loaf of caraway seeded rye that will be used in tonight's Oktoberfest at home: The loaf is perfect!

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwich, the Sami is great. Try the hash browns or their house made breakfast sausage along with it. The coffee is one of best in town. The food came out quickly and the service is always great. The ambiance is very nice, unusual in a way, but very nice. Never very loud no matter how busy.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a beautiful little breakfast spot / bakery to visit for the whole family. Very welcoming very clean. People are very friendly, but I believe it's a little on the expensive side. Had a cinnamon doughnut ($4.50) avocado toast ($13.00) with a coffee. Donut was very good. Coffee is not very strong but I finish it. avocado toast had great great flavor but just a very small portion for the price. Overall, very good experience. I just thought it was a little on the expensive side for the location.

Yelp
I stopped in with my girlfriend Saturday after a busy morning, arriving just before noon. We both worked up an appetite and the menu had so many delightful options. I went with the Salmon on Everything Bialy and my girlfriend picked the banana's Foster french toast. Both were exceptional and I topped it off with a slice of yogurt lemon bread. We followed up with a delicious cappuccino and vanilla latte. We ate upstairs and while it was busy there was plenty of seating and we never felt crowded or rushed. The rustic charm added to the experience and super glad we stopped in.
google avatar

Yelp
Such an adorable place! They have expanded since I went there years ago. They have seating outside in the front and the back and inside and upstairs inside. You go to the counter and order your food and then they give you a number and bring you your order. I ordered a soup which was good. My companion ordered a club which he enjoyed. And we also enjoyed the mushroom pizza! It was very busy. There was still a place at the bar for us.

Yelp
East Aurora's gem of a bakery/restaurant within a beautiful setting in the Village. Locals and tourists alike flock to eat their onsite created breads and baked goods for breakfast and lunch and then back for dinners created by a skilled staff of chefs. The outside tree covered dining area is like sitting in the small park no one knows about. A must go to place amongst many dining choices in the village

Madoc C.

Yelp
Came because it was a Sunday morning (don't bother going any other day its literally never open). They have good coffee if you want to go. Steves nice, he would talk to you whilst he makes your coffee. There Caesar salad was good, proper anchovies! I like to pick up the local paper (pics below)! The atmosphere is nice, you get a good vibe. Can be really hard to get a seat. The bread is good, sour dough especially. And they have good lemon cake btw. I would 100 percent recommend

Yelp
On a Saturday afternoon, I stopped at Elm Street Bakery for a quick bite. When you walk in, you are greeted by a podium with menus and you order at the counter. Pretty much all the tables were full on the first floor. Since we were eating in, the cashier told us which table to sit at and gave us an order number. Food will be delivered to the table. There are two floors of seating. We sat at a table upstairs. The restaurant is very cozy and there are many regulars. We ordered a cappuccino and a macha latte which was prepared by the barista behind the counter where you ordered. The drinks were yummy. I loved the color of the cups. We had the Pear salad - mixed greens, Anjou pears, gorgozola, dried cranberries walnuts, red onion, honey walnut vinaigrette and the Margherita 6 inch pizza - tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil. The food was very delicious. It was filling, but not too heavy. After eating, you bus your own table. You will bring your dishes and garbage to the buckets for dishes and throw away your trash. We enjoyed the food so much that we stopped by the next day to pick up some bakery items before heading to the road. We sadly learned that crossaints are only made on Fridays and Saturdays. Instead we got a scone and a blueberry muffin. It was still very good!

Yelp
Came here a month ago as guests of my son & DIL. It was quite busy for early Sunday morning but the service was brisk and efficient. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and an Americano. Both were most satisfying. The venue is casual country with a cozy, comfortable feel. We will be returning soon.

Yelp
This restaurant is right across from the caboose ice cream shop, and was packed when we went at about 130 on a Saturday afternoon. Very fresh vegetables on both of our dishes, one was a Greek salad, and the other was a Mediterranean plate with fresh vegetables , and pita and hummus. The space was clean and lively.

Yelp
Food was great! I tried the veggie ETB sandwich, which was fantastic. The spicy aioli was very tasty- they even sell it in their to go fridge (we got some to take home). The line was long, and blocked some of the tables, but to be fair they were extremely busy. Their peanut butter cookie was also amazing, so make sure to get one!

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Went to the Elm Street Bakery this past Friday. I was blown away! Although there was a line, service was quick! The baked goods.... OMG. I had a slice of banana bread and a raspberry jammer. So so so so good! And since the weather was actually nice here in WNY in March.... We opted to sit outside! So many areas to go to! The front "porch". As well as a beautiful little grass area in the back with tables. I will definitely be returning ASAP!

Yelp
The taco place next door and we're so glad to have stumbled onto the Bakery! It's such a cute spot - feels just like a lodge! I overheard the hostess say they have table service on Thursday and Fridays so something to be mindful of. The food was great! Little nitpicky critiques here and there. Husband said octopus was the perfect texture and perfectly cooked but a smidge over salted. My mushroom risotto was really filling and heavy, could have used a smidge of citrus to brighten but still incredibly good! overall some of the most vibrant and flavorful food we've had in a long time! Looking forward to coming back and trying more!

Yelp
Amazing baked goods, but also a restaurant with soups, sandwiches, small plates and pizza. Recently tried the mezze platter. It comes with wood fired pita (toasty outside and doughy in the middle) hummus, olives, veggies (mostly carrots in this case) and I added wood fired artichokes. Lots of flavor and very healthy. Service was great. Online ordering is possible via the Toast app if you have it on your phone or via web browser at https://www.toasttab.com/elm-street-bakery-72-elm-street/v3/?mode=fulfillment

Yelp
Really good bread, coffee, and cookies. Fun atmosphere. Really neat atmosphere and a lot of space to sit.

Yelp
We had the best dinner at Elm Street Bakery. The location has easy street parking and the ambiance is incredible and warm. Everyone was super friendly. We ordered a bowl and a pizza to split. Both were so tasty-- the grain bowl was fresh, and the pizza was doughy and delicious. We also got two great beers from their ample beer selection. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Elm Street Bakery is truly a special place. The staff are friendly and the service is always quick. The food is a little pricey but everything is exceptional and worth it in my opinion. The menu items are homemade and made fresh daily. You will not find bake goods more delicious than Elm Street. The overall ambiance and vibe of the bakery is quaint and warm. It is decorated beautifully and so relaxing. It is one of my favorite places to get a cup of coffee and breakfast and just sit and relax. I would highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the coffee, the pastry, my friend's Caesar Salad, my friend's tomato raspberry gazpacho. The foccacia bread? To die for. What I did NOT like....the chicken shawarma salad. It was dark meat chicken, tasted old but also tasteless, and had very rubbery skin on it. Also I just knew that collard greens would be no bueno and I was right. To do it right...marinate it more, make it FRESH, use bigger chunks of meat or at least not pieces that are so tiny, and no rubbery skin. This is the only food item I have ever had at Elm Street that was not good. And this was terrible. Will def return but not for this dish.

Yelp
This place continues to be an amazing place to get baked goods, breakfast or lunch. Weather your stopping in for a coffee and a pastry or sitting down for a full meal you'll leave happy.

Yelp
Worth the trek from the North towns! Kind of mad at myself for leaving this in my drafts for so long because the world deserves to know what Elmstreet bakery has waiting for them! East Aurora is always such a lovely trip out of Buffalo, wonderful scenery, easy drive, and so many treats and treasures await in town! I had a gift card to Elmstreet so decided to to bring a friend for bread to share the experience and wow it was fantastic! The interior is rustic barn/old mill with general store vibes filled with the warm scents of baked goods, coffee, and soft chatter or friendly laugher. The staff is very pleasant and the selection of items is huge! The pastry case was filled with various breads, muffins, cookies, pastries, sandwiches and so many other things to tantalize your tastebuds! We got a few things to split including big hot mugs of house coffee, the egg and cheese sammy on sourdough (wow this was so good with the bacon and arugula plus very large!), amazing apple cake, bacon cheddar scone, and a morning glory muffin. We enjoyed every bite and also grabbed some banana bread for the road! Definitely check out elmstreet, grab some goodies, stay for a while, and relax!

Yelp
My husband and I haven't been on a date night in forever. We needed some place to go that was inviting, warm, welcoming and the food is spectacular. When we arrived to Elm Street, bakery and EA the parking lot was extremely full. We almost turn back, but my husband said if I would go inside and see how long the wait was. I was so happy I went inside, because not only was there not a wait I was seated right away. I love the decor and ambience of the Elm Street bakery you feel like you've been invited to your friends house in this rustic, elegant atmosphere. We were seated in front of the most creative fascinating mural that celebrated all the local artisans of not only in East Aurora, but all throughout western New York that was so nice to see. First, my husband and I needed a drink so we both ordered the steam punk cider and it was super mega delicious not too sweet, very crisp and refreshing. It was a great start to the meal. I narrowed my choices down to three items and our waitress Whitney was beyond stellar. She recommended I tried the wild mushroom risotto with pancetta and sage. My husband got the Gordiero pizza. Food did not take long at all to come out and even if it did it was well worth the wait. The risotto was the best risotto I've ever had the umami flavor from the mushrooms. The savory flavor and salty flavor from the sage and pancetta was just the right amount, and not overpowering. The pizza did have a bit of a kick to it and it was in respectable size slices, and you got a little bit of all the flavors popping in your mouth. At the end of the meal, my husband and I split the tiramisu dessert and it was the perfect ending to this perfect meal. The creaminess from the from the mascarpone cheese the coffee flavor was not overpowering it all, and the Lady fingers were just the perfect amount of sponginess to have it be heaven in your mouth. However, I want to end this review on a very positive note and talk about the service. Our server Whitney was beyond stellar. I felt like I was a VIP in the restaurant and not many restaurants can pull off that stellar service. Kudos to Whitney and kudos to everybody at Elm Street bakery.

Yelp
We passed by this restaurant and decided to try. The restaurant was very busy but the service was great and efficient. We had salads and kids had pizza, and it was all very good. The Brookie was very good, only complaint was the sticky buns were quite dry and would skip next time. Looking forward to return.

Yelp
Wow! Like... Really, WOW! We came here on complete accident. Our plan was to check out the bakery across the street but when we drove by this place and seen the line of people outside, we knew we had to try it and I am soooo happy we did! I got the sausage breakfast sandwich and it was hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The home made sausage was to die for - it was like eating a burger. Topped with Gouda, a runny egg and a large glob of aioli with some fresh greens. My goodness.... It was worth every penny. My husband loves trying new things so he got the Shakshuka which is a tomato based middle eastern dish with a runny egg served with baguette. It was definitely the most unique thing on the menu. I wish I could explain the flavor in this dish. Just incredible! And it was a hefty portion. Thick, rich and so filling! They have lots of different bakery items available from cookies, to muffins, and sandwiches to-go. All looking so delicious! I cannot wait to come back for a lunch or dinner!!

Yelp
I'd love to give a 5 star but the chaotic and disorganized atmosphere you are greeted with upon entering is really disappointing and keeping me from that. There is no host/hostess to greet you and explain how things work so a newbie is left to get swept in the chaos and walk out. The staff at the bakery section either careless that you are standing there to order or have questions or they take interest in other guests that they know personally and they will interrupt your order/question to have a full blown conversation with other people. It's very rude. Then they rush you to order. The bialy is not an authentic bialy, it's a bagel. That was very upsetting. This was the reason we went here. The focaccia is incredible, the banana bread is also incredible. The spreads are lack luster. The biscuits and gravy were meh. The young lady working the pizza oven is an absolute rockstar! The gentleman expoing is truly a gentleman and the reason we were won over. Those two get 5 stars!! The breads get 5 stars!! The bialys get ZERO! The atmosphere gets 2 stars! The ladies behind the bakery counter get zero stars. This is why I gave a 3 star review. Law of averages would have been a 2.4 star review but I rounded up to be nice.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Very cute bakery right off Main St. We ordered just a few pastries for take out - we got the cranberry orange scone (tasty but a tad dry) and the orange cardamom muffin (very good!). Would like to come back to try their breakfast and/or lunch menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! This place is amazing. Surprisingly packed on a Saturday afternoon which is understandable because this is the place to be in East Aurora. The whole crew works incredibly hard to maintain their top tier service. This place is also super cute. It feels like a cozy log cabin during the winter months, perfect for the fall weather. The food is also very good. I got a Caprese sandwich and it was very good. They also have an extensive drink menu to choose from. I got a hot cocoa and it was sooooo cute! Would definitely recommend this place for anyone around Buffalo!

Yelp
(4) ~ very good overall food & service. Note: Parking lot in the back. MENU: ** Coffee (House) = (4) very good ** Margherita Pizza (small) = (4) very good ** Chocolate Chip Cookie = (4) very good

Yelp
Best almond croissant I have ever had! (Not pictured - we ate it too fast) Do not leave without one!! Can't wait to come back for another!!!

Yelp
Can be very busy at times without enough help- food is generally very good! Nice place to stop In for a pizza and glass of wine

Yelp
We unexpectedly stopped into Elm Street for the first time on our way home from Rushford, NY on Mother's Day of all days. Knowing of its popularity, I fully expected long waits and possibly a sub-par experience. Not the case at all!!! The line moved super quick, the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating especially as my daughter has allergies, and the food was delicious!!! We cannot wait to return! Thanks for making my Mother's Day morning a cozy and lovely experience, Elm Street Bakery staff!
google avatar

Korianne L.

Yelp
What a beautiful presentation of baked goods, breakfast food, and coffee! All of the tables are clean ready for guests to sit down and enjoy their meal. Steve at the espresso bar made me a beautiful cappuccino- thanks Steve!
google avatar

Amber J.

Yelp
Definitely coming back here again. The coffee and baked goods were delicious and they had plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Everyone is friendly and the facility is clean and has a nice feel! It's been hard to find a place where we can bring our little one, but this cafe worked out perfectly with the picnic tables outside and plenty of parking. We'll be coming back again to try their other drinks and food :)

Yelp
My husband surprised me and treated me to a six course Valentine's Day prefix dinner this evening at ESB. We both felt that hands-down this was the best dinner we have ever had in our lives. There were oysters on the half shell that went down real smooth, frisée salad with a tuile, quince tart, asperagus soup, fresh baked bread with warm butter, duck breast with fig and purred parsnips and toasted root vegetables, ending with a orange spice chocolate layered cake with cream- OMG! Sooo good! The ambience was amazing- quiet and candlelit with high quality wine to accompany each course. The service was friendly and accommodating. We go here all the time for coffee and lunch but they stopped doing dinner. We hope they bring back the regular dinner service again soon--because it's just so good! Compliments to the owners, chef and staff- what class!!!

Yelp
Great service, amazing bakery items, fantastic atmosphere... There's nothing to not like about this place. I wish it were open every day.
google avatar

Elias F.

Yelp
The bakery has a nice small town charm to it. A neat little spot to grab some great deserts, or some fresh made wood fire pizza. High quality ingredients, super fresh (when I say fresh when they are out of a menu item they are out). The atmosphere is super quaint, has a real cozy bakery feel. Also during the winter they have a little hut with some hot beverages. Was nice to look at but it's a bit cold out so we opted to sit inside this time around. If you're braver than we were I would suggest sitting outside with a warm beverage. Other than that it's a great spot in the village.

Yelp
Loved visiting this little bakery in East Aurora! Espresso bar is open from 8a-4p on Saturdays, so my husband and I just made it in time for coffee and a treat. We both got Americanos, a brookie (brownie cookie), and took home a loaf of honey oat bread. The americano was excellent. The espresso was a little on the brighter side which isn't my personal favorite. By the attention to detail in each cup made will definitely have me coming back. Everyone there was so kind and the gentleman behind the espresso bar made every cup to perfection. Next time, I'm excited to try some of their house made syrups. The brookie. Oh my goodness. I've had some brookies that were not great and too much. This one is the perfect blend of the crunch of a cookie and brownie top, and the soft gooeyness of a cookie and brownie. Pro tip, don't share. Buy this for yourself and make the other person get their own. And now friends, the honey wheat bread. It's simply delicious. The moment we got home my husband and I made grilled cheese sandwiches. Truly one of the best sandwiches I've had. If you're in East Aurora, definitely don't sleep on this place. Stop in and experience for yourself!

Lisa R.

Yelp
The pizza was great. Had to wait a few mins when picking up. I didn't care for how the staff treated each other. It was right out where everyone could hear... very unprofessional and actually nasty/mean.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a very nice lunch here today. They have COVID restrictions in place, so you can order via a window outside, and either take it to go, or sit at available tables on the patio (no inside seating yet). At the window they have menus and have marks on the ground showing 6 feet separations. I chose the chicken rice bowl which sounded light and had lots of things I like in it, like avocado, cilantro, among others. I was given a number and chose a table on the patio. The food arrived quickly, within 5 minutes or so, and was fresh. There wasn't table service, but they did bring silverware and napkins and had more napkins available at a central location if needed. It was a nice quick lunch on a comfortable day. I'll look forward to returning when the inside may be open, or sit on the patio again if it's not too busy and the weather cooperates. Not sure how well this setup would work for order and takeout if it were a rainy day, but you can always pre-order and drive-up.

Yelp
Love to come here when Im in EA. Wonderful food and coffee. The bread is fantastic! I highly recommend it!!!

Yelp
The go to place for espresso drinks, baked goods, breakfast & lunch in East Aurora. They also serve adult beverages and have the house next door for special events. For us visiting occasionally it is a nice spot to sit outside for breakfast and close to the Hampton Inn.
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyed a delicious piece of 4 layer chocolate cake with buttercream frosting!!! Frosting was amazing and cake was soaked in Baileys and another liquor. Absolutely delicious!!! Fresh baked breads looked amazing-especially the sourdough. Had a ginger cookie on previous visit and was delicious! Def a must stop little gem when visiting East Aurora! Will definitely be returning. A++

Yelp
Great thin crust pizza! Salads are great also. Oh. Can't forget the brew. Tea & beer. Very good

Yelp
Artisan (read: hipster) baked goods and stone fired pizzas. And beer. Not stone-fired beer, though; that'd be weird. But hey, when in East Aurora? Anybody can throw bespectacled, emotionless cool kids behind a counter and get a line on Sunday, but Elm Street has chops in the product. Loved my smoke salmon everything bialy, and the Brookie (a brownie cookie) I crushed after my flight home. Both showed tremendous skill, and tastes great. It's a little intimidating and other patrons can be shitty if you're - gawd forbid - a first timer, so I'll break it down. Left of entrance is bakery showcase, coffee, and maybe a simple sandwiches. To the right, at the end of the counter, is a more robust menu for lunch, and the whole place converts for dinner. Haute dining menu, still pizza from a wood fired grille. Comparatively expensive, but hey, when you cook a James Beard dinner, you earn the tax. Bus your won tables; solid tap list if it's beer thirty. Which it always is, somewhere.

Joe S.

Yelp
The flavor of the smoked salmon Bialy is simply unmatched. I can truly say the elm st bakery is becoming one of my top 5 places to frequent in the western New York area for consistently phenomenal food. The menu is constantly changing, to include some innovative items so I recommend checking back often when in EA! -Bialy is Fresh and with just the right amount of crunch -the salmon is high quality -the Spread is extremely flavorful (Mascarpone or cream cheese, with fresh herbs) Good eats, Cheers!
