Yelp
I love this place, and this review is long overdue. I am in the store at least once a week for either supplies or snacks and to bother the owners, Teddy and Alyssa, for tips and recommendations. Anything as a baker that you could possibly need, they will have it. Citric acid? Check. Gelatin sheets? Of course. Malted milk powder? Duh. You need einkorn, they have einkorn. Spelt, they've got it. And about a dozen other heritage corns, oats, grains, and wheat. They even have Carolina Gold rice. Getting into sourdough? Teddy has a beautiful starter and you can pick up your banneton, lame, and a copy of "Flour, Salt, Water, Yeast" or "Tartine Bread" here. You can also pick up fresh yeast, high quality chocolate, apricot seeds, candied and dried fruits, food grade lavender, and just about any niche baking ingredient that you could possibly imagine.
And baking utensils? They've got you covered. Digital scales, Nordic Ware pans, Ateco pastry tips, assorted cookie cutters, wooden mooncake molds, tortilla presses, etc. And if you're a fresh milled wheat fanatic, you can even buy your own Mockmill here and take your grain to mill at home - but if you're local, they'll mill any of their grains on demand to whatever level of fineness you need. Round out your shopping with adorable linens, aprons, and oven mitts that make for great gifts. And their prices are insanely good, so there's no need to order online when you can pick it up down the street.
This place is heaven for any baker, and that's before you even get to the cafe part. They serve Barrington coffee (and you can grab a bag to go), and seasonally you'll find treats like apple cider and pinole. The baked goods are fantastic: gooey soft chocolate chip cookies, flavorful scones, and whatever Alyssa feels like baking up that day (the ginger and pear muffins are my daughter's favorite). AJ King pastries round out the breakfast fare, and you'll find delicious sandwiches made with their own bread. This is truly one of my favorite places in Cambridge.
