Elsa, a chic cocktail haven in Cobble Hill, boasts stunning Art Deco aesthetics and a creative cocktail menu, making it perfect for cozy date nights or casual hangouts.
"Elsa is a Cobble Hill bar where you can make a reservation and have drinks surrounded by Art Deco light fixtures and neighborhood people on dates. It’s perfect for any type of one-on-one situation, especially because it’s attractive in the sort of low-key way that’s impressive without making it look like you tried too hard. They serve a few snacks like a meat and cheese plate, but mostly, you should just be drinking their cocktails. Which are excellent." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
"If you’re showing your parents around Brooklyn Bridge Park or Downtown Brooklyn, and you decide that you’d just rather be drinking, go to Elsa. It’s a cocktail spot from the people behind Ramona, and, like that place, Elsa is so well-designed that it makes most other bars look like the Irish pub at JFK . The cocktails also happen to be very good, and there are usually several sets of parents in there at all times. This place is just north of Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens, which happens to be the Land of Cool Parents." - bryan kim
"You’re picking the place to meet, and you really don’t want the first thing your date says to be something pessimistic about how long it’s going to take to get to the bar. Rather than risking walking around for an hour before finding a decent place to get a drink, make a reservation at Elsa in Cobble Hill. The cocktails are great, and the attractive space, with brown leather booths, marble tables, and Art Deco light fixtures, is ideal for impressing someone without looking like you’re trying too hard." - matt tervooren
"Hip, art deco-designed cocktail bar Elsa is helping Cobble Hill residents cool off via four frozen libations ($15). While the classic Painkiller has been on the menu for years, the bar also serves a Coffee Drink (vodka, coffee, almond milk, brown sugar, Cognac, vanilla) and the newest of the bunch is the rum-spiked Cloudbusting Daiquiri and the gin-infused Lisa Frank Experience." - Kat Odell, Eater Staff
"Three years after closing in the East Village, cocktail bar Elsa was reborn in Cobble Hill. It’s a place for drinks, although a limited menu of snacks including cheese and charcuterie plates are available. Owner Natalka Burian has said she wants the cocktail bar to feel “very feminine,” and as such, the space — co-owned with her husband Jay Schneider — is full of flowers and white marble, and a neon sign depicting a woman hangs out front. Standout cocktails include the “Night Silo,” made with espresso, whiskey, bourbon cream, maple, heavy cream, and absinthe. Bonus: It has a great bathroom for mirror selfies." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya
