Where to Find the Best Steak Around Denver

"Though Elway’s is a far cry from a sports bar — it’s located in the Ritz-Carlton, after all — memorabilia from the eponymous Broncos quarterback’s career is tastefully arrayed throughout the space, making it a sure bet for football fans with hearty appetites. Beyond the standard prime cuts, signature dishes include the lamb chops with green chile fondue, the short rib, and the pastry chef’s play on a Ding Dong, as well as the chicken-fried steak burrito, aka the breakfast of champions." - Ruth Tobias, Josie Sexton, Gigi Sukin, Paul Albani-Burgio

We had one of the worst meals in recent memory at Elway’s this evening. This was my first time at the Downtown Elways location. I had previously been to the location in Cherry Creek which was very good. We had a reservation for two on a Friday night and the place was empty. We started off at the host station where they told us that they were having a meeting in the dining room and that we could wait it in lounge or bar area. We sat in the bar area, although instead of coming to get us to let us know our table was ready, they sat 3 other tables before they acknowledged us. The server was friendly and came out to greet us quickly. We started with the grill artichoke, which was undercooked and really wasn’t editable, for $20 we did the best we could 2/10. The salads were a nice way to start the meal off. I really liked the house salad, the dressing was great and it was a nice sized portion 6.5/10. The other salad we had was the wedge with the dressing on the side. This salad is fine and straight forward but nothing exciting about it, just less than a quarter head of lettuce for $17, 5/10. For our entrees we ordered what you would expect to order at a steakhouse, steak! What I would expect from a steakhouse who is charging close to $100 for their steaks is that they knew how to cook them, they did not, both were terrible. I had the porter house, mostly raw, order it medium rare, zero seasoning, just tasted like eating cold cow 2/10. My girlfriend had the ribeye on the bone, ordered medium, cooked over well done, just tasted charred like you would not believe, 1/10. The manager did come over and I did let him know that the steaks were not cooked as we ordered. He was very gracious, apologetic and offered us a free dessert, which goes a long way. For sides we had the Thai basil and bacon Brussel sprouts, 7.5/10 and the mash potatoes, which were pretty good 8/10. The dessert course, which the manager offered us was alright, the cheesecake was a real winner, maybe the only thing I would have come back for 9/10. The chocolate chip cookies were not baked all the way, gooey, very sweet and on top of more chocolate which made it worse 3/10. All in all I will say that for $325 with tip, this had to be the the worse meal I have had. I will not be coming back to Elway’s ever again. You go out to a great steakhouse because you want a great steak and Elway’s failed to deliver on that promise. There are plenty of good steakhouses in Downtwon, Elways’s sadly is not one of them. This sport does have a good vibe, but there are plenty of other places to take yourself out to. Let me just say, I go out for a lot of meals every year and enjoy reviewing places. Obviously this is my subjective opinion based on the experience I had, but I expected so much more and feel extremely disappointed. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews, but want to let Elways know, there is a lot of room for improvements.

Elway’s has all of the standard steakhouse comforts with some very exceptional desserts. All steak is roughly $60-80 a cut with a la carte sides. The Brussels sprouts and key lime pie were the winners of the meal. Great for a business meal.

Beautiful high-end steakhouse inside the RitzCarlton Hotel in Downtown Denver. Custom cocktails and world-class Steak and Fries, the Winter Margarita was a work of art. Great service, multiple seating areas for different events with a bar area, and white table cloth fine dining in the back areas. One of the best steakhouses in Denver - the New York Steak was 10/10 rare.

Google
Overall, my experience was good. The Calamari appetizer is fine but not outstanding. My husband's filet was perfectly cooked and very tender. I ordered the Elway's Salmon, and the butter sauce it came with was delicious - dipping the house bread in it was a must! The only downside was that the Mac and cheese side was really dry, so we had to send it back. Lastly, they gave us a complimentary cheesecake for our anniversary and it was very light.

We had an amazing dinner with friends—everything was delicious! The lamb chop appetizer and the tuna tartare are absolute standouts and not to be missed. Stacy took great care of us at the bar—she was fantastic! We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Denver!"

My wife planned this restaurant for my birthday. I’m not a Bronco or Elway fan but wow did this place deliver. The steaks had a unique crust and tasty sear. The sides were exceptional and the desserts yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant for any and special occasions🔥🔥🔥

We recently dined at Elway’s at The Ritz-Carlton in Denver, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The service was absolutely top-notch, with Scott taking such great care of us throughout the meal. His attentiveness and warm demeanor made our evening even more enjoyable. The filets we ordered were, hands down, some of the best steaks we’ve ever eaten—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. Another standout for us was the croutons on the salads; they were so delicious that we joked we’d come back just for those! As for the sides, we had mashed potatoes, mac ‘n’ cheese, and homemade fries, and every single bite was fantastic. The flavors were rich and comforting, exactly what you want from a high-end steakhouse. A huge thank you to Candace Duran, the Director of Sales and Marketing, for her outstanding hospitality. She went above and beyond to make our visit truly special, and we are so grateful. Her attention to detail made our evening one we will remember for a long time!

I’ve been coming to Elways for 10+ years. Something changed. The shrimp cocktail went from dry ice and drama to tired with tails on. The lamb chops were cheezit rich and decadent - to wanna be green chili. The Coors light from draft was fogged - which they said was due to nitrogen, huh? Did they sell? I gave it 3 more chances. Will never take a client here again. The photo is a draft Coors Light next to a bottle. I’ve spent $20k+ here over the last 10 years. Oh and a server hit me in the back of the head with a hot plate when serving us hahaha.

Yelp
Everything was so good, from the food, ambience, to our amazing server. Definitely recommend if you're in the Denver area. I had the wedge salad, very well done. We got to see the private ding room as some in the party are big Broncos fans.

Yelp
We ate at the bar early, but was underwhelmed by the menu. Also, as a football fan, I hoped for at least a little Elway memorabilia, but only saw 4-5 framed photos on the wall. Food and service were fine, but we weren't blown away. Not a bad place, I still gave 4 stars, but I expected more.

Yelp
No stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver would be complete without a visit to the famed ELWAY's Downtown. Recently renovated and better than ever, ELWAY's offered a delectable menu complemented by an extensive wine list. ELWAY'S also just announced happy hour daily from 3-5 PM with $14 specialty cocktails, $12 wine, $6 beers, & $10 appetizers! We were seated in the main dining room and Juan was our server. Juan, GM Brendon, & Elway's staff were polished and attentive. We each started with drinks, the Seasonal Smash made with Cinnamon, Lemon, Pomegranate, Strawberry Puree, & Fever Tree Soda Water. This mocktail had a tart base from the lemon and pomegranate while the strawberry puree added sweetness and a fruity punch. The cinnamon added a warm and slightly spicy note, which was unexpected in a summery drink but complemented the fruit nicely. The soda water added lightness and bubbles, making it a perfect summer sipper. The Lamb Chop Fondue was made with green chili fondue, sweet potato, & Chimayo chips (you cannot go to Elway's without getting the Lamb Chop Fondue)! The lamb was mouthwatering - succulent & sweet. We dunked the tender lamb into the fondue and the green chili provided a savory and delicately spicy base. The sweet potato chips added a starchy contrast to the lamb & fondue. The Tuna Tartare was made with ahi tuna, scallion, guacamole, yuzu ponzu, creamy spicy aioli, & wasabi crema. The diced tuna was light and refreshing; it went well with the creamy guac. The House Salad was made with butter and romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, shaved radishes, chopped bacon, parmesan, eggs, lemon croutons, & parmesan vinaigrette. The salad was tangy and fresh with a nice zing from the shaved radishes. All of Elway's steaks are Hand Cut USDA Prime Steaks. The Filet, 6oz was cooked medium rare (red throughout, warm center) and for Add Ons, I did the Horseradish Aioli. The filet was a lean cut with exceptional tenderness. It had a rich beef flavor, and the Horseradish Aioli added a bit of a kick. The New York Step, 12oz was cooked medium per Ross' preference (slight pink, warm red center). The New York Strip was a flavorful cut with good marbling. It had a nice sear on the outside. For sides, we had the Loaded Baked Potato & Thai Basil Brussels Sprouts. The Loaded Baked Potato was made with bacon, cheddar, chives, & sour cream. The Thai Basil Brussels Sprouts were made with parmesan, bacon, Thai balsamic vinaigrette, & black truffle. For dessert, we had Edgar's Key Lime Pie served with whipped cream and blueberry sauce. The Key Lime Pie was massive and was enough for two to share. The pie was so creamy - the best key lime pie in Denver.

Yelp
The steaks go without qualestio--so delicious, however I absolutely love their crab fried rice (which is gluten-free) and their wedge salad (which they split for us)--both so delicious! The staff is also friendly and helpful and the bathrooms are clean.

Yelp
Overall Elway's was good, but isn't worth the bang for the buck... For the price we expected great. The one 'great' from dinner was the crab cake. It was beautifully presented, big enough for 4 to share, and delicious with big lumps of crab. Our steak was very average. (For $87) Salmon was good. Asparagus was good, nothing fancy... The downside is that we were freezing! They honestly need to fix something. We had a plug in heater at our table that we gave to the table next to us when we left. They were freezing as well.

Yelp
Our waiter was awesome and super informative on things to try and was super engaging when checking on us and making conversation. The whole staff is spectacular! Being from out of town he was also super informative on things to do throughout the city. The porterhouse steaks, French fries, crab fried rice, mashed potatoes, and even the drinks such as the Elway Spritz and Pineapple Express. The ambiance was very calm and relaxing. No one at other tables was talking loud and just a peaceful environment to have dinner or lunch. Overall this comes highly recommended!

Yelp
Just ok in the Denver scene. Unfortunately Elways has gone downhill and compared to other nearby spots with similar fare, it is only middle of the road at an elevated cost. A few things stood out. First, out of the three glasses I used, two were chipped and we were left without silverware twice when food arrived. Secondly, the wine list compared to other spots is mediocre at best. For a high end steakhouse, they should have more than say 8 selections of red wines. They don't list regions so we had to ask and found out that the 7 cellars Elways reserve was from One Hope and was underwhelming. The staff was wonderful overall but the food was ok. I just feel like for what we spent, we have had incredible nights at other spots in town. This celebration won't be as memorable.

Yelp
I was impressed with Elway's. I came with a group of friends on the recommendation of one friend's father and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is lovely and one particular thing I liked about it was that it was lively but not deafening. For some reason, every high end steakhouse in NYC is so loud and filled with finance & tech bros trying to out-testosterone each other than you can't hear the person next to you. Elway's, by contrast, although filled with the Colorado equivalent of tech/finance bros-- but wearing cowboy hats-- had a good energy level but I could hear people across the table from me. Service was top-notch from start to finish. Scott was our waiter and he was exceptional...one member of our party has particular likes and dislikes and he handled everything with grace and aplomb. Matching the service was the food and drink. My rye old fashioned was spectacular. For food, I started by splitting a Caesar salad and that was wonderful. Then my 12 oz NY Strip came out and it was perfectly prepared and delicious. The sides were great too, especially the mashed potatoes, asparagus and spinach. I wasn't thrilled about the brussels sprouts as I prefer mine a little crisper but that's not the way they were prepared so I can't fault them. For dessert, my husband and I split a key lime pie that had a special anniversary message on it. It was a nice surprise and the tartness of the pie was a great coda to the meal. This was an exceptional meal from start to finish. I'd definitely go back...especially if someone else was paying because it is not cheap. But if you want a memorable place for a special occasion, you can't go wrong with Elway's.

Yelp
Top things to get steak, lamb chops, and the dessert! Honorable mention the crab cake. Calamari is usually a safe thing to order but it needed more seasoning. Usually I give places stars based off of food but since the service was really good I give it a 5. I celebrated my birthday here and I am glad I did! The staff were very kind, attentive, and friendly. Definitely a place for one of the fancier date night spots!

Eric L.

Yelp
Disappointing. Service was good. They gave us Elway cards for our special occasions, that's a nice touch. The place looks very plain, like the hotel restaurant it is. There were some highlights amongst the food, crab cakes were good, tuna tartare was excellent as were the au gratin potatoes. Other items were misses. We are big oyster fans, and the dozen we were served were not good--they need to re-visit their sourcing. Sea bass, nothing special, no nice sear, no nice seasonings. Steaks, OK, but typical high end steakhouses do a better job. Brussels were dismal, under cooked with some cheese on top? Deserts were OK.

Yelp
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and would have breakfast at Elway's. Delicious and vibrant food, a mix of everything. The service was outstanding and they were all so nice. The restaurant is pretty big. We ordered the eggs Benedict, Korean rice egg dish and the avocado toast. It is on the more pricey side but after all you are in the Ritz.
google avatar

Clay H.

Yelp
To say that this is one of the best steaks you'll ever eat is an understatement. You will spend money, but it's worth it for a once in a lifetime experience.
google avatar

Antonio C.

Yelp
Service was amazing. As expected when eating at a restaurant in the Ritz. The latte was huge and delicious. The avocado toast was set up like a tartare with deviled eggs on top. It was unique and so good. The Denver omelette was also great with crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The place was not very full in the morning. Great spot to start the day. I would recommend to people staying in the hotel.

Yelp
We came to this place whilst visiting Denver for our wedding anniversary. The decor is very classy and the ambience was lovely. Our service was great and the food was even better. I had the artichokes to start, the most perfectly cooked steak for my entree and we split the most delicious chocolate cake which had a happy anniversary chocolate on top. I highly recommend this place for anyone in the area.

Ash And Chon A.

Yelp
Prior to watching the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Broncos, we stopped by Elway's to celebrate a few birthdays in our travel party. The ambiance was awesome, very clean and modern. The restaurant and bar area were both very lively. The location had great energy. The staff was great, present but not annoying. We ordered a few apps which were prepared and delivered to our table in short order. Unfortunately, there was a quit a long wait for our main entree and dessert. Overall I'd recommend this establishment for any type of event. The prices were comparable to other steak houses. Dress code for the dining area is between business casual and formal. Dress code in the bar area is casual to business casual. Try the fresh chocolate chip cookies ! They were delicious!!

Yelp
I don't know where to begin. Our server, Brian, at lunch today was horrible. We saw him twice, once to take our drink order and once to take our food order, and that was it. There were no drink refills, he didn't come to the table when our food arrived or afterward, we had to ask the bartender to figure out who we could pay (the bartender was unfriendly and said it wasn't his problem.). For the food, don't bother ordering a salad with salmon. It's $18 just for the side of salmon and is a single 1.5"-2" square piece of fish; when you ask if that's the correct serving size, the waiters that do deliver your meal just smile and laugh and offer you the opportunity to order another side of salmon for an additional $18. There is no dressing on the salads either. Prime rib sandwich was smothered in horseradish, fries were cold, fried chicken sandwich was very small. Again. Nobody to ask if any of this was correct or help to make it right. We finally found someone to give our card to and he took it to Brian who didn't bother to run it himself, another waiter ran the card for him and brought it back to the table. We asked and we were definitely meant to be Brian's table. Elway's has always been expensive but this latest experience had all of us vowing to never return and the company sales group won't be bringing clients here anymore either.

Yelp
Service was great food was mediocre. $70 seafood tower was a joke and my girlfriend got food poisoning. Also the fire alarm was blinking for the majority of the meal. If you want a steakhouse go elsewhere
google avatar

George G.

Yelp
We had the Chef's table and it was awesome! Shared apps included Grilled Artichokes, Seafood towers and the Lamb Fondue. My personal favorite is the wedge salad with an 8 ounce filet medium rare Pittsburgh style!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a nice birthday celebration for my wife's birthday last night for dinner. The waiter was very attentive & with his double vetting for the pastry & dessert kitchen determined that something sweet for my son with peanut allergy was a bad idea. The general cooking kitchen was peanut safe for our son. My Buffalo Ribeye steak with blue Cheese butter was good, however I would choose good old prime beef steak next time. My son's short ribs of the bone was pretty tasty. Good place for celebration events as my wife enjoyed the meal.

Roman G.

Yelp
Typical white table cloth steakhouse. I visited this place a couple weeks ago when I was at the Dot Food Show in Denver. I ordered the caesar salad, 12oz Prime New York and shared a poke and shrimp appetizer with my group. We also shared a couple of desserts that were very good. The food was excellent and service was very good. Overall 4.5 stars.

Yelp
First time at this place. Amazing service food and atmosphere. Had the bone in strip steak and a side of Mac and cheese.

The staff was amazing. The steak & lamb chops were delicious. I highly recommend the espresso martini. It is the best ever

Yelp
When to Elway's this sat, company gave me a gift card. So I hadn't seen my love in about 6 months and he finally made it home. When I received the gift card I scheduled a reservation on open table and added a note that it was a special day. Tom our sever made the nite awesome! Tom got us room to visit and he came around just when we needed him. Service & food was and the relaxing nite was ac

Yelp
Had a work dinner here the other night. Ordered appetizers - calamari and crab cake. Both were average at best. Ordered the ribeye medium rare - the steak came out bluish / purple. Extremely disappointed. The server came to the table 20 minutes later and was shocked at how rare the steak was. Brought it back and cooked it further. Once it came out the steak was now extremely charred on the outside and overall experience was horrible. Will not be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Truly outstanding dinner. Great steaks, sides, and service. This was a tremendous steakhouse experience.

Yelp
This is a beautiful and large restaurant but the brunch service is not great and the brunch was not good. We have been coming to elways for years and this was the first time we felt the brunch was not good. Benedict was cold, French toast seemed hard and the biscuits were burnt. The service was slow taking almost 2 hours to eat. I am bummed but will likely not go back for a while !

Yelp
Came to this establishment recently for my reunion. Although this restaurant did not use spotters or runners, my waiter was prompt + informative. Ordered their bone in rib eye and it was prepared perfectly. Loved the lightly seasoned beef with a nice texture; it was very pleasant. I also enjoyed their cozy ambiance and their bar was nice. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for a friend birthday dinner on a Saturday with a few friends. Mahogany hostess stand, white table cloth but, very welcoming. Our server was prompt with greeting, guiding us through the menu and taking our orders. The blue cheese stuff olive dirty martini were great as well as the Iceberg Wedge Salad (simple but fresh). For my main course, I got the 8 oz. Petite Filet which was good (favorite part was the charred edges). The whole experience was a very traditional steakhouse evening (and a little overpriced).

Yelp
I stayed at the adjoining Ritz for a couple days and came by twice. Both times I was fairly disappointed. The first time, I came around happy hour and ordered 2 glasses of wine. The Chenin Blanc to be exact and it was exquisite. However, the service was spotty, I would have stayed longer but the Wi-Fi made it impossible to work a little on my laptop. The second time, I told the bartender I'd be dining in. I was by myself, but was able to locate a (very) small selection on the menu that I could comfortably order as a party of 1. However, the options were very limited. I ordered the half chicken for almost $50 (only thing that looked good) and it came with very thin/stringy/greasy asparagus and exactly 4 carrots. I've had a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better version of this meal in Manhattan at The Smith, Brick-Pressed Chicken, for $29. It comes crispy on top of a beautiful garlic mash potato and lemon chicken jus....step it up Elways.
google avatar

Cal L.

Yelp
Amazing experience, and the food while pricey was delicious. I ordered a New York strip and it was perfect - beautifully broiled with a nice rub of salt and pepper. The truffle French fries were also delicious. They arrived in this majestic cone and the parmesan shavings were a nice touch. Service was also great Alex and Samantha at the bar, and Celeste the hostess were all so friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. They were also accommodating for me to grab an item from the dinner menu, for lunch, and in a business district that was dead today because of the President's day holiday, I'm grateful they're open. Thank you!
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Disappointed. Food was good (I had salmon and the husband had the rack of lamb), service was professional, but we felt rushed through the meal....to top it off, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the entree so for about 15 minutes we couldn't hear each other speak (the alarm was directly above our table.) No consideration was offered for the disturbance...we didn't ask, felt we shouldn't have had to...they were well aware that our expensive, what was supposed be, romantic evening was a bust.

Yelp
Staying at the Ritz-Carlton for the New Year's holiday, my wife and I made reservations for dinner at Elway's (located in the hotel) on NYE. While we had dined here before, we knew making a reservation for a holiday meal was the way to go so that we didn't find ourselves without an opportunity for a decent meal. We arrived downstairs about 10 minutes ahead of our reservation time, and were invited to sit in the bar for a drink while we waited for our table to be ready. We each sat back, and relaxed with a Blackberry Smash while the smooth sounds from the saxophone player in the bar helped to set a great vibe. Regrettably, we didn't wind up getting to sit down in the dining room until about 20-25 minutes after our reservation time and were seated at a table against a dusty wood panel that rubbed off on my sweater. Fortunately, this would prove to be the low point of the evening as the service from our waiter, Scott, was excellent and the food followed suit. Beginning our meal with the Cold Tower that featured shrimp cocktail, crab cocktail, and ahi tuna tartare we were off to a great start. The tuna tartare is a go-to order for me here as it is consistently delicious, but the real surprise here was the crab cocktail that had a delicious remoulade/sauce that really worked with the crab meat to create a rich, satisfying bite. We paired this with a glass of Pouilly-Fume that Scott recommended, and were not disappointed. After this we each opted for a bowl of French Onion Soup, as it is always a favorite, especially during cold weather months. While the soup was very good, the cheese on top did taste as though it was a bit scorched or burnt which was not as favorable. For our main courses, I went for the Dry Aged New York Strip (medium rare), my wife had the Filet Mignon (medium), and we shared the Mashed Potatoes as a side. We also ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir from the list, and were disappointed that it was not available, but Scott came up big here with another great wine suggestion that worked perfectly. Both steaks were very good, though both seemed as though they were not done to the requested temps with mine looking closer to rare and my wife's looking closer to medium rare. Not too big a deal, and hardly worth sending them back for as we were already starting to feel quite full, but still not quite what was expected. This restaurant is now being remodeled, and will be closed for the next few months as the work happens to bring the new vision to life. I'm looking forward to coming back for more good food, drinks, and to see the new look!

Patty J.

Yelp
We've been going to Elway's for the past 7 years. This time we were disappointed. Steaks did not have any flavor, truffle fries were cold. However, the creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes were very good. Service was ok, nothing exceptional. Ambiance is very casual, you can wear just about anything. Dessert looked like a blob of day old pie!
google avatar

Ian P.

Yelp
Very unimpressed. Took just over 90 minutes to get our food. Steaks came out warm to the touch with juices that had already started to congeal. No follow-up from staff during our meal. Steaks might have been good, but there is no way to know. Not worth what it cost. Far better option for that kind of money.

Yelp
Went here for Mother's Day brunch. So upsetting our server was so flustered, they were short staffed and we didn't receive any of the 4 appetizers we ordered. The server was so focused on servicing another larger table. So sad because this was a yearly Mother's Day tradition in our family and sad to say we won't be back again

Eric K.

Yelp
It was OK. Appetizers were good. It took a long time for the Entrees to arrive, and they were warm, but not hot. No one checked on us during the long wait for our main course. We didn't have enough time for dessert, so we left. I don't think we will be going back.
google avatar

Phil Z.

Yelp
Fantastic service and excellent steaks. Was here over Memorial Day weekend. Not too busy. The steaks are great. Will be back again when visiting Mile High City.

Richard P.

Yelp
Service was pretty good especially considering they were short staffed. They probably should not have sat the customers when they're selling prime and service at a premium. My steak was cold, baked potato was room temp and broccoli was warm. Most likely it sat awhile before someone could serve it. They comped my wine which was nice but an expensive meal for something I could make better at home. Ambiance is nothing special.

Yelp
Had a gift card so we treated ourselves to a fancy brunch. Made a reservation as wasn't sure what to expect. The location we wanted to go to was closed on Sundays so we headed downtown. Found street parking and on Sundays it is free to park which was nice. Walked to the restaurant but we took a wrong turn. No matter we found our way. The host was pleasant and walked us to a table. We decided on a different table as the table we were led to was sandwiched between two crowded tables. Simon was happy to accommodate us. Juan came to welcome us and take our drink order. Decided on water and a mango mimosa. Truffle Parmesan fries for appetizer, chicken fried steak burrito for him and tuna poke bowl for me. We also ordered a bison burger to go. The server, Seamus, brought our dishes and knew I ordered the poke bowl without me telling him. It was funny. The chicken fried steak burrito was large and made with prime tenderloin, hash browns, pork green chili and scrambled eggs. Sausage gravy all over. He liked it a lot. My tuna was fresh and I liked the wakame salad, cucumber, edamame and mango with it. Not a fan of pickled ginger or the red beets and radishes but I tried them all to see if I liked the taste. They were fine but not enough motivation for me to finish them. The spicy Mayo over the tuna and sushi rice were good. I enjoyed them very much. The mango mimosa was strong. Yummy to sip while talking. The bison burger had two patties. It was too salty for him. He put the fries in the burger and that evened out the saltiness a little. Brioche bun was good. I loved that they sent home a tiny bottle of ketchup with our to go order. It was fun and Juan was great. Pretty sure Alex was the other server who checked on us. He was friendly too. The restrooms were clean and bright. Patio seating is available and valet parking too. We had a fun brunch and I would recommend the restaurant. Just pricey.

Yelp
Another time I wish a half star was possible. Service is amazing, truly. Huge wine/liquor selection with expert help should you want it. Highlight for me was the tempura brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked perfectly but honestly I have had better tasting steaks for a much lower cost. I don't know what it was exactly, maybe just not the best filet that night. Who knows. Dessert was a little underwhelming for me. The "ding dong" was extremely rich but perhaps too much so. The overwhelming cocoa in it actually irritated my mouth I think. Overall it's an expensive restaurant and great for a special night if you want to feel pampered.

Yelp
We came here for our wedding anniversary and I'll start out by pointing out the great service. Our hostess seated us immediately and the waiter was pleasant and timely in helping us out. Throughout the meal our table was promptly cleaned, water refilled and bread was brought out quickly. It was not extremely busy while we were there so I am sure that worked in our favor. The food and drinks however were very overpriced. I understand this is a "fancy" restaurant and obviously things get marked up but when I pay $85 for a steak it better be the best steak of my life. Tasted like a store bought NY strip with basic seasoning. Supposedly it was dry aged for 30 days but I didn't taste anything special about it. I also requested it come out medium and it was more medium rare which isn't a huge deal but you would think a restaurant that boasts top tier steaks would get it right. I also got my steak Oscar style and the Bernaise was a cold lump with some crab and chunks of asparagus inside, not very flavorful. We paid $60 for a bottle of wine that we found out was $20 in a store. I know restaurants will mark things up but really? For sides we got the lobster mac and cheese which was actually what we enjoyed the most. Minus the thick cold cheese on top. We also got the Parmesan truffle fries which according to my husband needed ketchup because they were dry and flavorless. For dessert we got the "ding dong" which is advertised as being paired with Ice cream. But what they mean by ice cream, is they melt some vanilla ice cream and put a little bit of that melted ice cream on the top of the cake. After everything was said and done the bill came to $360 and we certainly didn't feel like it was worth anywhere near that. At the end of the meal it feels like you're paying that amount just so you can say "I've been to Elways." We don't plan on going back but if you want to give it a try just be aware of the very high price point.

Yelp
The ambiance was perfect. I had the sea bass and it was wonderful- a little oily but good! My husband had the short rib and he said it was delicious. I was a little bummed out that the short rib wasn't gluten free because it looked amazing! Our server was very kind and attentive. 4 stars because I wish they had more options for people with dietary restrictions.

Yelp
Great service, friendly staff, and clean... the food was good but nothing spectacular about any of it. Nothing was bad but nothing stood out either. Prices were typical for a steakhouse but portions were smaller than average.

Yelp
We were celebrating my friends 50TH Birthday while in town for the Broncos game. We were quickly welcomed by the hostess who also took our jackets. As soon as we sat down our server, Tess arrived for drinks and immediately wished our friend a Happy Birthday! Tess was extremely attentive and friendly! Our food was outstanding, we got the spicy steak chili 10/10, caesar salad (very good and shareable) and the Butternut Squash Soup (not my favorite but my friend loved it) fresh bread and butter (always a win). We all got different steaks which were fantastic, cooked to perfection. We all shared sides, Au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and the broccoli and cheese. Finishing off the meal was crème brûlée with fresh fruit and chocolate! The entire experience was amazing and we will be returning our next trip to Denver! Thanks Tess for taking such great care of us!

Yelp
My $70 steak was not cooked correctly(asked medium rare Pittsburgh, received 1 side seared and the steak was blue/raw). Beers we ordered were lukewarm. Our waiter was AWFUL. Pushy-there were 6 tables in the restaurant and he was rushing us to order like he was trying to flip tables on a crowded night. The food was wildly mediocre, especially for the price. I'd find a different steak house in the area.

Yelp
Only been here for drinks but they were excellent. Can't wait to come back and try the food someday! Service was good when I was there too

Yelp
When I provided feedback about my lunch experience, Elway's invited me back to try again, and they succeeded wonderfully. The evening dining experience was terrific from beginning to end. Restaurants, like all of us, can make mistakes. Kudos to Elway's for being open to feedback and correcting their mistake. I'm grateful.

Yelp
Timely seating for our reservation and drinks came out in good time. Costco bread rolls & jalapeño cheddar bread. Appetizers: wedge salad swimming in dressing, excellent roasted artichoke. Then we got a refresh of drinks and waited.... And waited... and waited. Steaks came - I have only sent something back once in my life but decided the fully charred on one side and raw in the middle $60 tenderloin was, unfortunately, ruined. Another tenderloin ordered at the table was good but a medium rare when ordered as a medium. Bone in strip was ok, a little chewy (after bringing out the wrong steak which the server noticed on his own). Best steak was the rib eye. Sides: skip the weird battered and fried brussels- they were whole big sprouts, oily and inedible. Again oily and disappointing potatoes au gratin. Nice sautéed mushrooms and baked potato. Then we waited again. Asked for the check. The waiter knew we were clearly disappointed. Offered a free dessert since a birthday in the group was noted during the reservation. Then proceeded to chat with another table for 15 min. Long enough that my very laid back husband got up, interrupted and asked again for the check as our kids slumped at the table. Waiter offered the dessert to go. He graciously took a round of drinks and my ashen steak off the check. It was clear they over sold the seats for available help in the kitchen, the waiter reported this happens after Broncos home games so be wary and check the timing. Hope we caught them on a bad day but for the very, very expensive price we will certainly not be giving it another chance. The are plenty of other steakhouses in Denver.

Yelp
This spot is a hidden gem. Everything I consumed here was top notch and not even as expensive as I thought it would be. We came here to celebrate one of my friends getting a new job and what a discovery it was! We ordered multiple items including the grilled artichoke (aioli, drawn butter, & lemon), the tuna tartare (ahi tuna, scallion, guacamole, yuzu ponzu, creamy spicy aioli, & wasabi crema), the au gratin potatoes, and finally, the 22oz bone in ribeye with a 5oz Maine lobster tail on the side. Seriously everything was cooked, seasoned, and delivered perfectly. Will definitely be coming here for more celebrations soon! Update: Get the lamb and bone in ribeye. Update: Stopped by Elway's on one of my last nights living in Denver and yet again, it was phenomenal! We had a few cocktails, the artichoke appetizer, tuna tartar appetizer, the bison ribeye, a bone-in ribeye, NY strip, the filet mignon, and the ding dong for dessert. The bison ribeye was something I was a bit skeptical about trying but our server recommended it and I took a chance on it. WOW it was one of the best steaks I've ever had! TRY IT OUT! Also the server dropped off a few free shots of Jameson because we were celebrating my going away - which was a very nice touch on his end. Again, try this place out - you will not be dissapointed!
