11 NYC Spots Showing Outdoor Movies - New York - The Infatuation

"Skylawn is a rooftop bar on the third floor terrace of the Embassy Suites on 37th Street that hosts Rooftop Cinema Club, an outdoor movie series that also takes place in other cities like Houston, LA, and London. Tickets cost $21.50-$28.50 depending on the time of your screening and the type of lounge chair you choose. (Seating is first come, first served like a Southwest Airlines flight.) This venue has a full bar and food menu, but you can also get candy and snacks that you would find at a regular movie theater." - Hannah Albertine, Kenny Yang

Where To Drink With Coworkers In The Garment District - New York - The Infatuation

"Skylawn is a rooftop bar on top of the Embassy Suites on 37th Street. And while that might not sell you on it immediately, it’s actually pretty fun up here. To get to the roof, you have to take a special elevator that has only one button (it’ll feel a little like you’re sneaking into the hotel). Once you’re there, they have a few giant versions of games like Jenga and Connect Four, and during the summer, there’s also a rooftop movie series you can buy tickets for in advance." - Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim, Matt Tervooren

I'll start with the positives: Great customer service, free water at the front entrance, rooms were clean and comfortable, received good housekeeping service, excellent showers, great location to Broadway, Times Square, Rockefeller center, and Empire State Building. Room for improvement: Breakfast temperature should be warmer, the bacon and potatoes were cold. Omelets need improvement. My tomatoes and spinach were not cooked and they did not put cheese on it. More importantly, they need more eating space and/or need to give everyone to go containers. It is very congested in the eating area. The margaritas for happy hour were terrible and tasted sour. Maybe the other drinks were better. Overall, I do recommend the hotel. For breakfast, you should get there before 7:30 for a seat. I don't recommend happy hour. We were too busy sightseeing to go to that.

Dirty Room at Check-In. Zero Response from the Front Desk or Management. I reported dozens of dead bugs and hair on the bathroom ceiling within an hour of check-in. I raised this issue every single day—via app, in person, at the front desk. Four days later, nothing was done. Staff apologized, said they’d “make it right,” but never followed through. Housekeeping even skipped our room. By the time they offered to move us, I was checking out soon and had two kids with me. The room felt gross the entire stay. A modern space doesn’t make up for complete neglect of cleanliness. I expected better from Hilton. Photos and messages to staff prove this wasn’t exaggerated. DO NOT BELIEVE THE MANAGEMENT RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW. I sent detailed emails directly to both the general manager and the assistant general manager of the Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square. I waited 7 days before posting this review to give them time to respond. They did not.

The location is great as it is not far from Times Square. Yet, for the amount we paid per night, the room was the size of a cruise ship room. The front desk refused to give us two bottles of water on our first night in town. Luckily, during shift changes, we were able to speak with someone else who was able to honor our request for more towels and water. Esthetically, the scaffold on the outside of the hotel makes it appear unseemly, although the inside is nice. Most of the breakfast amenities were fine, but the space is little. Depending on the time you come down for breakfast, you may spend quite some time looking for a table. I won't stay here again.

As someone who has consistently been impressed with other Embassy Suites locations, I chose this hotel expecting their usual high standards. Unfortunately, if you're looking for the typical Embassy Suites experience, you won't find it here. Cleanliness was a major issue. Hallway carpets were visibly dirty, and our room had stained and ripped sheets, plus paint droplets all over the floor. The bathroom sink was clogged, forcing us to remove the stopper. Service was lacking. The bottles of shampoo and conditioner were out and never refilled despite asking a maid directly, and our room was not serviced for cleaning at all during our stay. The most frustrating aspect was the misleading pricing. A mandatory $34 daily "urban fee" was added to the quoted price. While a $30 credit was also offered, it was only usable from 5-10 PM at one specific bar and did not include tips, making it an inconvenient and effectively hidden cost. The hotel's location is somewhat good, offering convenient access to the area. The best part of our stay was the omelet station at breakfast. However, these few positives don't outweigh the significant issues. Due to the cleanliness problems, poor service, and deceptive fees, I found the experience uncomfortable and will not be staying here again.

One of the best breakfast spots I've visited lately! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Everything came out quickly and just the way we ordered. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the incredible service from Alexander. He was friendly, professional, and checked in just enough to show he cared. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. Definitely coming back again!

The hotel is average with small rooms and bathrooms |BUT Mauricio that works in the breakfast area was AMAZING. He went from table to table making sure everyone had what they needed. It was very crowded and we went at different times and he still was amazing! Smiling appearing he loved his job! My family appreciated his SUPERB SERVICE!

Google
First time in NYC, so happy we booked this Embassy Suite Hotel! Great location, clean, yummy breakfast, enjoyable happy hour, knowledgeable and friendly staff! Our room, was nice, and service was quick when we needed additional pillows and towels. Standout staff: Mauricio at breakfast (super friendly and helpful), Narda in lobby (sweet lady with a great smile) and Luis at the front desk (provided excellent customer service), and all 3 bartenders in lobby bar were great! We would choose this location again for sure!

We had a great stay at this hotel! The breakfast & evening reception were a plus! The rooms are slightly small but expected for NY. The staff was very good with Kevin (breakfast service) and Adam (front desk area) being standouts! We found the hotel to be in a great location and easy to get to a lot of sites. We will definitely consider staying here again if we make another trip to NY!

Yelp
Decent location, far enough away from Times Square and close enough to Bryant Park Subway station. Hotel well let's just say get ready for the NY crowds to be in your hotel as well as on the street. Rooms are small but the view of the Empire State bldg. made it bearable. Room cleaning was inconsistent as two days received no service. Breakfast area is extremely small and crowded. All the extra taxes and fees are just as bad as Vegas.

Yelp
I was excited to stay at an Embassy Suites with 2 of my family members, but this location is NOT like any other ES I've stayed at. I think this hotel was converted into an ES from something else in the past. As there are no studio style rooms and the hotel overall is very cramped CHECK IN Arrived around noon and had to wait for a room to be ready. I rec'd a text message when each room was ready. The person who took our luggage to hold for safe keeping while we had to wait (and ended up going out to explore) was super nice. ROOMS We stayed for 2 nights and got 2 rooms: A King bed city view and a King Bed with a Sofa. Both rooms were Small. Both contained a mini fridge, microwave, coffee/tea, TV's, small closets for clothes, manual thermostat. Each room had 1 small bar of soap. Showers contained shampoo, conditioner and body wash on the walls. Lotion on the wall next to the sink King Bed City View: Overlooked the city buildings. Nice view, esp. at night. My floor was gritty and you could see it was never sweeped. Everything else was fine. King with Sofa: Cramped room, esp. after pulling out the sofa bed, which slept more like a bit smaller than a queen bed. 2 TV's in this room. 3 sets of towels/washclothes TV's were nice. Local channels, some cable channels, and apps HOUSEKEEPING Done daily, but may not get done until about 3pm if you are a stayover. There was a language barrier with myself and the housekeeper, so I don't think she realized I wanted the room serviced. I had to go back and forth to her in the hallway to get things refreshed (didnt have washclothes, no cups, etc.) after day 1. I literally spoke to the desk receptionist for housekpeeing items each day , and i'm not sure if she wrote them down or what - but none of the items were delivered. Again, I had to track down a housekeeper for somethings with the exception of the shower was off track. And all of the water kept running out. I simply texted the hotel and maintenance came up and fixed it within an hour or so URBAN DESTINATION FEE - USE OR LOOSE IT! There is an automatic $30 Urban destination fee that you must use everyday or you loose. You can use this money, to buy top shelf drinks at the evening reception or at the heist. I was made aware of this from a travel advisor review so I made sure to ask about this at the hotel desk at check in Breakfast On the 4th floor. This space is entirely TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO small for a hotel with 39 floors. You'd be lucky to find a table, or wait 10 minutes for an elevator to take your food back to your room. Basic offerings (breads, eggs, potatoes, pancakes (were like cardboard), juices/coffee and there is a made to order omelet where someone will bring it to your table Evening Reception same as breakfast space. From 5-630p nightly. You get 2 drink tickets. The first night, the desk person just wrote our room numbers down. Wine and a house made drink and bottom shelf licquor avail . for the ticket. Or you can pay for upgrade to topshelf. Between both nights at the reception we had, popcorn, nachos, salsa, veggies/dip, fruit ISSUES AT EVENING RECEPTION The 2nd night at reception * SAMANTHA *who was hosting the desk, wouldn't give my brother his drink tickets. Said he needed his ID for some reason. NO ONE else was asked for ID, not even myself or even the people who were in line when I waited to ask SAMANTHA why she was asking for his ID. In short, she said he LOOKED YOUNG. He's damn near 40 and we all saw Samantha at breakfast and evening breakfast the day before. She finally gave him tickets after I came over. The 2nd night, they had a list of room numbers and names. However, I had 2 rooms under my name and I had listed both my siblings under the hotel reservation - so SUGGESTION, include ALL names on the list if requested. but outside of that, she did not ID my sister who was in the same room with me. This needs to be corrected. The first night of reception, you could easily tell there were random people who were just coming there for free drinks/food THE HEIST BAR bar/dining area next to the lobby, open in the evenings Used the $30 destination fee here. I went down to order food at the bar, and you have to pick it up on the 4th floor They did call the room when the food was ready Buffalo wings were AMAZING!! Waygu sliders were apparently really good OTHERS - theres a gym on the 2nd floor - ice machines on certain floors - there is NO pool - Room service is available - 3 elevators for 39 floors. Be prepared to wait - location has about 2 metro's within less than 5 min walk - location is a good 20 min walk from Port Authority or 15 mins from Madison Square/Penn station - Local blocks contain all types of eateries (pizza, taco bell, asian, breakfast, Irish, etc.) and shops - there's some kind of movie cinema. it's outside on the rooftop, maybe 3rd floor, where you have to pay. It's literally outside, rain or sun While the location was good for our site seeing, I would not recommend

Yelp
Stayed on the 37th floor and in a city view room. Had a nice view of the Empire State Building. The hotel check in was easy but I will say the elevator was a pain. Takes too long to get up and down. The breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast but they did have an omelette station which was different. Rooms weren't cheap but the location more than makes up for it if you are a tourist. Cool spot.

Yelp
We are on night 2 of a 3 night stay and have adored the location, which is just a quick walk away from Penn Station and MSG. There are lots of food choices near us and Times Square is maybe a 15 minute walk away also. Being so close to the subway is crucial. We were welcomed to check in early and have enjoyed the room and 24/7 service. I would stay here again

Yelp
Four day stay. Hot water is like warm at best. Our AC quit in the middle of the night. The breakfast is free but the sausage and eggs so cold I believe they are a health hazard. All floors are sticky and tables in the food area are layered with grime. This hotel does not deserve to be called an Embassy Suites.

Yelp
Stayed at the Embassy Suites for just one night on a Saturday. Arrived around 7:30pm and while the arrival experience was different from other Hiltons, the time for check in was quite speedy for NYC. Janiah was the agent who assisted and provided a welcome for being an Honors member along with the customary arrival amenities. The lobby was quite when I arrived and their Heist bar area looked quite popular. Sadly I missed the manager hour earlier in the evening. After getting my key I headed up to my room on the 26th floor and wow. What a view. This room is amazing, the balcony/patio area can't be done justice in these photos. Trust me...if you want a one of a kind experience in NYC and happen to have peeps to hang with you...this is the location! The room itself was smaller than your normal Embassy Suites...but hey, it's the only one in the city, and compared to other hotels...the rooms are spacious. You'll see one photo from the bed....of the Empire State building...was I comfortable, yes, do I wish I took a daytime view, yes. Plenty of room to spread out and put away my items. I enjoyed having a fridge and microwave as I got some popcorn and make that while watching TV. I will say the TV options have the opportunity to be upgraded. And despite being the only one in the room, I wanted to test out the 2 TVs going at the same time. Quite surprised that unless you have them very loud, there was minimal cross over between the spaces. After I did my initial loop, ended up FaceTiming not once...not twice...but three times with friends to show them this room and the view from the balcony. The Empire State Building was so close...felt like I could reach it! Room was very quiet and didn't hear any outside city noise which means I slept wonderful, comfy bed and pillows. Got up early to have breakfast and arrived around 7:30am. Breakfast selection was typical of Embassy with the main difference having to write down your omelet order vs standing in line. The attendants were very prompt to remove empty plates and keep the flow moving. Coffee was good, took two to go cups back to the room with me. Seating can be limited...and I recommend seeing it more as communal seating and share with someone. Shower was great too, water pressure amazing wished I didn't have to leave. Spacious bathroom as well, loved the waterfall faucet. Glad I woke early as I got the perfect shot of the Empire State Building before the clouds rolled in and covered the very top. Davely upon departure was wonderful. Her energy was contagious. Made the day start on a good note. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would return when in the city.

Yelp
Location is perfect! Rooms are the standard NYC size room unless you're willing to pay 700+ per night! The reasons why this Embassy Suites is OK = CUSTOMER SERVICE! The customer service is hit or miss, very inconsistent! The Bell men and one guy working on the 4th floor were extremely pleasant. Unfortunately, the other employees, especially the ladies, on the 4th floor and at the front desk, were not welcoming at all. This Embassy Suites' evening special is truly awful. On the weekend, you're only given one free drink. During the weekday, you get two free drinks. Again the location is perfect. Close to Bryant Park, Times Square, Herald Square, the subway, delicious food/restaurants. Seriously doubt that I'll stay here again!

Yelp
As 90% of the review say, check in was horrible because they never have rooms available, so they say which are lies because my app showed me 8 rooms available and I ended up asking housekeeping and they cleaned few rooms as well and yet front desk Luis says no rooms available. He finally decided to give a accessible room to us which we didn't want. His customer service skill was good and he was really trying to show he is helping me but it was just a show. He wasn't rude or impolite, but I wish he was genuine about helping me. It seems the whole hotel staff are not interested in helping customers, they don't make any experience personal unless you speak Spanish than they are nice to help you. Great complimentary breakfast everyday, eggs, potatoes, sausage. 2 drinks per person for evening reception unless you speak Spanish and ask the staff for more vouchers they give it to them. Unfortunately we don't speak Spanish so we were given only 2 vouchers and witnessed others getting more than 2 drinks. The only 3 good thing about this hotel is breakfast and evening reception and destination fee back in form of hotel credit. Rooms are small and service isn't great. This is by far the worst embassy suites experience and shame because we only stay at Embassy for its services and perks at other locations.

Yelp
Great hotel! In a great location!! It is within walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurants! The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely hospitable and pleasant! It was three of us in the King Bed Junior Suite. It was tight but comfortable. My son slept on the sleeper sofa and had his own tv, so he was good. I can't say how the breakfast tasted because we were sooo busy and usually ate out. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay there again! Oh by the way, traffic is horrible in front of hotel so if catching an Uber or Lyft, I would suggest walking a block or two in either direction!

Yelp
I was in NYC on business and selected this location for a number of reasons. 1. Embassy Suites gives you more room than a normal hotel 2. Its overall a nicer experience 3. The manager's reception and made to order breakfast is always included. I travel pretty much every week on business throughout the country and this was on of the worst experiences that I have ever had. Customer Service Experience - I arrived early and inquired about the availability of my room. Unfortunately my room was not ready but no worries all good. I was asked for a contact number and was told that my room should be ready around 1pm. I worked in the lobby for a bit and then headed out for the day. I never received an update and returned after 4pm (check in time). At that time I was told my room had been cleaned but hadnt been updated as "ready for occupancy". I asked about next steps and was told give us a few minutes and we will get you taken care of. 45 min later I was still waiting and finally got into my room. The problems kept coming as the tv remote wasnt working properly. I called down to the front desk and communicated the issue. The response that I was given was very dismissive as if I was annoying them, but they would send someone up right away. Many hours later the problem still hadn't been addressed so I inquired again. The response again was very dismissive and I finally received a knock on the door around 11pm that night. it turns out that this is was a common problem due to a recent equipment change. The issue was finally resolved early in the morning (around 1am). Breakfast The next morning I went down for breakfast and WOW, what a mess. At 6:30am they ran out of orange juice, i was given someone elses breakfast order and when I told them about the mixup, the response was as if I had made the mistake. My order was redone and then given the correct order. Room All of the hotel rooms in NYC are known to be small. My room was no exception, but it was clean and comfortable. I would not stay at this location again. Just the customer experience alone is something that I would not want to experience again.

Yelp
This hotel was just so bad and deceiving. The pictures on the web site are not what you get. I stayed in a King City View room and it was less than half the size of what the pictures showed. The room was small like a closet and all the furniture was jammed in. No room at all and I was solo. The bed was hard as a rock and pillows laid flat. The air conditioning says it is at 68 but it is so very HOT in the room and that is in the very small room. The bathroom seemed decent but the drain was slow to empty in the sink and the towels were so rough on the skin. They use the excuse that of course the room is small - you are in NYC. Well I am a Hilton Honors member and have since this stay been to other Hiltons in NYC where the room was fine and size was excellent. Also the service here was just terrible. Forever long lines at the front desk with people waiting for rooms not being ready, their room pass keys had stopped working or problems with the checkout bill. And the front staff was just not friendly - many just rude. Only good thing is the location and they try to get by on that. My biggest gripe is that what they show on the web site is not what you get and the hotel just is not clean. Please avoid this hotel. So many better options in NYC and in the same area.

Yelp
Comfy bed, good central location, friendly staff. Was surprised by how small the room was for an Embassy and definitely did not appreciate the 6 am fire alarm wake up call while on the 37th floor.

Yelp
Briefly stayed at this hotel right before new year. Great location. Discounted parking on the next street over. But it's on space available basis. Checked into the hotel with great service. However, the room we had was kinda outdated. The first thing we noticed was the sink not draining , then shower door handles looks like slapped on, with the metal handle off placed. I also noticed there are gift wrapping tapes on top the ceiling. The room we had was called a junior suite. But very tight. Given is New York which is normal. Definitely noticed how outdated some part of hotels are. However, location of this hotel is great, very convenient right by time square, close to everything. Given the convenience and location I will stay here again. And the service we received was very good.

Yelp
Nice stay at this property. Easy check in, clean, excellent and polite front desk, housekeeping and other staff members. Rooms, while small, were well equipped, clean with good water pressure, hot water, nice towels, coffee maker (that makes 2 cups at the same time). Nice breakfast with an omelet station (very cool). There's a couple nice bars and an outdoor movie theater on the property. My only complaint is that Internet access was not available as advertised. I even validated with their tech engineer and I was forced to use a special code as my Last Name / Room number didn't work. In all, a very nice property and convenient location.

Eden H.

Yelp
I am currently staying at the hotel & while the hotel itself is cute, the service is horrible. We ordered a bagel & the staff told us "well this is the last bagel" ... I ordered a coffee at the bar in the morning & the coffee was placed on the other end of the bar, when I asked for it I was treated like I was absolutely dumb for not knowing it would be placed 10 feet away from me instead of where I was sitting....at the bar, right in front of the person making my drink. I understand these may not be huge issues, but the costumer service is bad, the people behind the bar are rude. If you're going to automatically add 20% gratuity onto literally everything(even when I have to toast my own bagel & get my own coffee) then you need to train your staff on how to treat customers who are spending $$ to stay with you for a week or pay them more because this isn't it.

Yelp
Conveniently located near Times Square and the Broadway diatrct., However I think you will find other hotels that are nicer just as close. Two stars are because of Adam the bellman, he was friendly and helpful on multiple occasions. Manager's Reception very sad Friday, Biscottis, marshmellos, and corn tortilla chips Saturday, Carrots, celery and potato chips Sunday, Biscottis, black beans, and corn tortilla chips $25 Mandatory Urban Destination Charge is for parking, wifi and Manager's Reception. We didn't have a car to park, and the Manager's Reception is supposed to be Complimentary and Diamond members get wifi free. When we checked out the person behind the desk was not well, (sniffling and coughing) but didn't have a mask on even though signage throughout the hotel stated masks required. Definitely would not recommend this place.

Yelp
Look, I get this is NY, but, this is Embassy Suites, there are things that make an Embassy Suites feel like an Embassy Suites that are definitely missing here. Honestly, I'm wondering if this hotel started out as another brand, and Hilton, in their illustrious wisdom, decided to rebrand it as a Embassy Suites. One thing I do have to say positive is that at least my room was clean, which while yes, that should be the norm, as many of us know that travel regularly, isn't always the case. 1. Rooms - tiny! I booked a king size with view. The photos show a larger room. I feel like this is what is usually the tiny Queen Bed Junior corner rooms (I don't remember what they're officially called) in most of the older Embassy Suite hotels. 2. The view - My "view" is of the side of neighboring towers and rooftops of the lower buildings. When view is offered as a separate offering, I think it's reasonable that the view be skyline/city view or of a landmark. 3. Elevators - there are only 3 guest elevators for 39 floors. During busy times, you might be waiting for up to 20 minutes or so for an available elevator! 4. Breakfast - honestly, don't bother. Go around the corner to McDonald's, you'll get a fresher and better breakfast there, and at least you know what your getting! The entire setup is a complete mess, nowhere enough room for the amount of people (they ask that you go down to the 3rd floor where there is additional seating, but as mentioned above, the elevators are some of the slowest things I've ever seen) the cook to order station only does omelettes, no pancakes or eggs (such as over easy etc). The food itself is almost inedible. The waffles were hard as rocks, barely warm, and no amount of butter & syrup was helping them soften up. The bowls they provide for cereal/oatmeal are a complete joke, I've seen bigger bowls provided for salsa/condiments.

Yelp
Amazing hotel!! Friendly staff, great pricing!! Very clean...you have to get a room that has a view of the Empire State building! Not much more and so worth it!! Beautiful day and night!! Large rooms with large bathroom AND A CLOSET (hard to find in NYC)! ADAM was so courteous and helpful with our luggage!! We checked it in with him, so we could do a few more things in the city before heading to the airport!!! We will DEFINITELY stay here against next time!!!

Yelp
Comments about the rooms being small are spot one...but it is NYC. We regularly saw that the staff is overwhelmed, from a lack of staff. From the front desk to the omelette maker, they need more employees. If you do manage to get breakfast in the morning or a drink at the evening happy hour do not expect a seat. There just isn't enough space for the volume of guests taking part.
google avatar

Yelp
Really great location, close to Herald Square and Bryant park. They will hold luggage for you in the lobby if you arrive before check in so we were free to explore the city and check in later. Big plus! The rooms were New York size but efficient and updated. Room we had facing Bryant park had floor to ceiling windows which elevated the space. Housekeeping was thorough and did a great job every night of our stay. Staff was customer centric and even coordinated transportation for us on day of departure. Will use again for future trips to Manhattan.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Good location, but... We stayed for two nights. We booked for 4 people, but they gave us three towels and we had to call to ask for bedding for the pullout. The room was quite cramped, with basically no where to sit. There was one tiny bar of soap for the whole room, the conditioner bottle was empty and there wasn't any body wash. The shower was lukewarm no matter what time we tried. We called in the morning before we headed out for the day, asked for no service, but requested soap, conditioner refill and fresh towels. We came back late to see the room had been serviced, and still no extra soap or conditioner. It took us 10-15 minutes to get an elevator most of the time. Breakfast was decent. They never told us about the credit and I'm just now finding out about it. Very disappointed in this Embassy Suites experience.

Yelp
Front desk staff and valet/baggage check are very nice. A few things to note. Expect the rooms to be small and not as spacious as the traditional Embassy Suites brand. I received an Upgraded room due to my member status and received a high floor (32nd). It was a tiny corner unit, but clean and fairly updated. HH and breakfast will be a madhouse. Expect to wait in line snd have no seat unless you scour around. Breakfast Omelettes need to be prefilled out on a ticket and dropped off at the cook station. They ask for a table number; but I had to put my name since I had no table! HH was a 2 drink maximum and they seem to enforce it since there was no bar seating area with the bartender. At least in other places, you can chummy up the bartenders and they hook you up...but don't expect that here. The gym was adequate and clean.. I wanted to use the Peloton, but of course it was not working!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Went to an interview here, cute property, clean, everyone was smiling. Was excited to interview until the interviewer pretty much kept saying she doesn't want to do this, she wants to do sales. I feel this property would rock if there was more motivation. How do you expect to motivate your staff if you hate your job. Hopefully they get some positive energy in the building. Good luck!

Yelp
Horrible hotel experience, from check in, to the room we received, to the staff. As a long time Hilton Diamond member, I usually trust their properties but this place was by far a huge disappointment and we cut short our stay after one night. Check in took 30 minutes, and we were the only guests checking in at the time. They gave my wife and I 2 bottles of very warm water as we waited in the lobby and offered us 2 free drinks at the bar. Only the bar was closed (it was 11pm). Then my room choice was downgraded because the hotel was oversold. Our room had an awful stench, like someone was cooking fried fish. And the "suite" was tiny, more like a dorm room for 1 person. The smell was so awful that we had to run the AC on high all night. The AC was very loud. So we "slept" in a loud, cold, smelly room. The hallways are dark and dingy. We tried to change rooms that night but were told nothing else was available. If you are thinking of staying at this place, beware of what could be an awful experience. We left after one night, and they charged us the highest rate possible. And Hilton has refused to give us any type of refund.

Yelp
Stayed here for 5 days. It's a great location in midtown with Herald Square subway just around the corner. Also has a parking garage attached to the back side with door into the hotel. Contemporary style decorated throughout the hotel and rooms. Lobby has several seating area as well as a small business center. Room was good size for a NYC hotel room. Very modern and sleek but well equipped with everything you need as well as a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge and safe in closet. Surprised how large the shower was. Hot breakfast with omelet station as well as evening snacks and drinks. We were on the 35th floor with ceiling to floor windows with beautiful view of the city. Also has a outdoor terrace I think on the 3rd floor but didn't have an opportunity to go there, also gym but didn't go as well. Friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Location is good - not far from Bryant Park, Koreatown, Grand Central Station, theater district. But is it really a "suite" like other Embasssy Suites? Not really. All that makes it a "suite" is that you have a king bed on one side of the room and a partial partition comprised of the sofa bed's tall back; otherwise, it's just a single room. So no, not really a suite like you've seen in other Embassy locations. We didn't really mind though, as you're only in the room to sleep per se - we spent most of out time going out and about the city that never sleeps. That being said, however, there were misses in this particular franchise that were on the annoying side: 1) wifi was really spotty and required logging in every few hours; 2) fitness room thermostats were for show only and did nothing (had to prop open an outside door to get some air in); 3) card keys for fitness room didn't work even though receptionist supposedly programmed our cards for them after seeing our vaxx cards; 4) the sofa bed came with sheets but no blankets (this is February, mind you) so had to call housekeeping to get some; and 5) didn't get my free bottles of water even though diamond member (yes, that sounds very entitled and elitist, but hey, that's what the deal is ... ). On the plus side, the staff was pleasant and helpful for the most part; and the Embassy's complimentary hot breakfast offerings were varied and tasty (much appreciated in this pricey town!). So all in all, an okay stay but don't expect the accommodations to be like the typical Embassy standard.

Yelp
So, I called in the AM to ask if I can check in and what the fee is, as expedia said there is fee associated with early check in. They told me to check in at 2pm to see if there is free room (regular check in 4pm).. So i just gave up. I showed up around 3:30pm later for check in, and they gave me a room in 3rd floor (of a 40 floor building) saying nothing else available. I was very dissappointed. Room itself was fine, but probbaly not very clean. In the morning, I tried to shower only to find out, whoever cleaned my room put in 2 conditioner bottles, and no shampoo, so I got out of shower and waited for shampoo to arrive. Bed was comfortable. They did have free breakfast and I got to have omlette which was decent, everything else already finished by the team i can get something, long lines.. There was also snack after 5pm to 6:30pm, and they give you tickets for 2 drinks. So I got two glasses of wine and some cheese. So not too bad. I think if I was given a decent room, i would be a touch happier, but with everything taken together, it was a poor experience for more than 300 dollars I paid for one night..Only positive is that it is close to empire state so you can easily be in downtown. but if you check in as late as 4pm, there is not much benefit from that. Oh, also at check out, there was literally a bags stacked in the lobby. I was afraid if i leave anything, it would get lost, so I carried my backpack all day. So overall poor experience for the amount of money you pay.

Yelp
I'm not a city girl and so this was a great location for us! Close to the hustle and bustle of Times Square as we walked there and a few blocks from Madison Square Garden. Restaurants close by as well. A beautiful foyer and fries staff greeted us. We were early for check in and they held our luggage so we could go exploring. Our was was nice and had everything we needed for a one night stay. Breakfast was delicious! The omelet station was a new idea...you ordered on a screen in the wall and then a gentleman delivered it to your table! (I'm sorry I didn't get his name but he was very friendly and helpful!) We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Yelp
Less then ideal hotel for New York City. After checking in 2 hours after we were supposed too, the room wasn't ready and we were charged more money while checking in. Which wasn't brought to our attention before making the reservation. Do not recommend staying here, and will be our last time staying here.

Yelp
I'm giving this hotel a 3out of 5 stars because I had an average hotel experience! The good: nice room but small, great location, breakfast included and happy hour. The rooms are tight especially after you open the pullout couch to make a bed. I really enjoyed my view on the twentieth floor. The bed is comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. I loved the shower! It was clean, great water pressure and was spacious! I liked that breakfast was included in the cost of the room. The made to order breakfast relates to omelette made to order ONLY! Everything else was pre-made! The breakfast had a good variety of options! No complaints. In the room is a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The bad: broken bathroom seat cover, busy elevators, crowded breakfast area and room floor was dirty. I was rally annoyed with our broken toilet seat cover. It was reported but no one ever fixed it. I stayed in room 2003! I also found what I think to be a vape pen in the pullout couch. We just left it in the room. In the mornings, the elevators are all very busy, especially in the breakfast hours!!! Our room has no carpet and walking on the wooden flooring was a bit gross because dirt would be on your bare feet from lack of proper cleaning. We wore shoes and socks most of the time to resolve this problem. Overall, an okay experience!

Yelp
To start, great location. It's close to Penn station and all nearby transits. If you like Korean food, just few blocks down is Korean town. Close to all nearby attractions. Room is very small but clean. Breakfast is good with lots of variety. Daily evening reception is definitely a huge plus. 2 free drinks - wine, beer, spirits, etc.. and snacks.

Yelp
Better than I imagined. I love Embassy Suites. I'm guessing because this is NYC, the rooms really aren't "suites" - they are bigger and nicer than many other hotel rooms that I've stayed in while in NYC but definitely NOT a suite. The staff was helpful. The manager on duty was helpful. Rooms were clean and included a fridge and microwave. TV was huge. Evening reception had great snacks and drink tickets. Breakfast was excellent. There a chick-fil-a on the corner. Macy's is about 2 blocks away. Penn Station is maybe 4 blocks away. Port Authority is a walk! We walked from there to the hotel when we arrived via greyhound from DC. When we checked out to go back home, we took a taxi. I would definitely stay here again My only complaint is that my Hilton profile states that I want to be away from the elevator. I was right beside the elevator and we were toooo tired to make a fuss.

Yelp
New building. Great location to NYP. Great room! Grrreat view (posting sunrise from my bed before drudging myself to work ). I like how the window opened a bit to get sounds and a breeze. Bathroom really clean and modern. Bed comfy and clean. Floors clean. Really enjoyed my one-night stay. Will book when next I need to be in NY. Did an electronic check in from my Hilton app, so forgot to go to front desk for my water and cookies bc I went straight to my room. Grabbed them on the way out though! Walking distance to the Monarch Rooftop Lounge. I walked there and back. Great view of Statue of Liberty there. Will post a review there as well with pics. LOVE the option of a rooftop cinema found on the 4th floor if you have nothing to do that evening. Complimentary breakfast was great and allowed to go boxes. Sure they have evening snacks or drinks, but missed.

Yelp
Location is good, close to time square. That is the only good point. Room was not ready when we came, got into room close to 5pm, breakfast was ok, not a lot of seating so get there early, rooms are tiny - if your used to other embassy suites you will be in for a surprise. Bar in lobby was appropriately named "the heist" $20 for a mixed drink, $12 for a beer

Yelp
If this is a new Embassy concept for Hilton we will pass from now on. Our room was about 1/2 the size of a cruise ship stateroom and the bathroom has no space around the lavatory. There was no hand soap, the shower gel container was empty and there was just a partial roll of toilet paper. The sofa bed once extended took so much floor space that we ended up just using the sofa for the bed in the folded position. We have stayed in Embassy Suites for years and this is the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Next time, Hampton or Fairfield.

Yelp
The worst no personal service. Check in is a nightmare.. Didn't clean my room . Got lip services when I complained. 350 a night. Stay a motel 6 . It going to be an honor to drop my membership.

Yelp
The room was maybe small for the 3 of us but was clean and modern. All what we needed. It's a quiet, clean hotel. Good Breakfast with multiple chooses. Loved the French toast - eggs and sausages but also the croissants! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Follow up Further to my first-impression review, here is my stay review Recommendations: good location, clean , great "day" front desk, not bad elevator access, small rooms Staff: Steven from front desk who did extra mile to help odd situations , also the waiter at the door Dinu. With his helpful remarks and smile , he made our stay less torturing "see below ". Issues: After checking in around 5:30 pm , we noticed issue with the A/C. Technician looked at it and recommended waiting for an hour to start feeling the change . At 10:30 pm we return back to the room , issue was still there. Reported to the front desk , technician came again to say that the issue fix needs approval , and he will come back after talking to front desk. Around 11pm , no one showed up while we were still stuck in our room with no A/C at exceptionally heat advisory in NY. My wife called the front desk to ask about the update, surprisingly they said that they have no idea and the technician had already left and there is no one to help . We asked for room change , at the beginning they said they are sold out for the night. We insisted on the room change as our room was not bearable. They found a smaller non sofa alternative , we accepted the change to the new room where our son had to spent the night on the floor sleeping on blankets, as they have no folded bed. Waiting for the new room in the lobby, we were told that they need to get approval from uppers , this process went on going back and forth for another one hour . At 1 am , we finally got the new room! We asked for extra blankets to set a bed on the floor for our son , it took another 30 min and my wife start calling the front desk about it as we were so exhausted and feeling sleepy . The front desk start not responding to her calls, she went down to check on the request, she found three personal chatting who told her that the room service is busy and they should come soon . At 1:40 am , we finally got the blankets! By then we were dead tired, yet too exhausted and too annoyed to even fall asleep, which eventually affected our whole day...

Yelp
Incredibly inexpensive for Manhattan but you get what you pay for, it seems. There is a 25.00 per day urban charge, like a Resort Fee. However, for that we were to have access to daily cocktail hour, a bar/ restaurant, an outdoor bar/ lounge deck, WIFI and daily housekeeping service. None available. WIFI died half way into our stay. in lieu of above we were to get 15.00 worth of items from the hotel store but that was almost empty containing only a few bags of peanuts and snacks., and they had the Gaul to pcharge us for that one day. We disputed the bill and the fee was reversed.Breakfast was available at a tiny room with few tables. We brought it to our room after waiting for elevators. It didn't help that they closed a portion of the breakfast room for a private meeting removing even more seating space. Front desk seriously understaffed. Snaking lines at all hours and too busy to answer phones. With no housekeeping we ran out of shampoo and soap. Didn't mind drying and reusing towels. An answered call to desk responded that someone would bring it up but never did. I went to the desk at an odd hour and was able to get a shampoo. many negative reviews have been responded to with the same lame excuse that they're recovering from COVID and having troubles. I can understand that . Think, if a restaurant had room for 100 patrons but only staff to serve 50 would they accept reservations for 100 or 50? I guess the brand doesn't care about repeat customers The king size mattress was on a platform that was almost three inched bigger than the mattress. The corners of that platform were covered by the bed covers. The clearance between these corners and neighboring furniture and walls was about 12". I have some nice bruises on my shins. In fairness, they packed a lot ( too much?) into a tiny room. There was virtually noplace to store anything. A tiny closet in the bathroom could not be closed unless the hangers were angled. The bathroom itself was quite roomy and nice. FUFU sink with no mechanism for removing the stopper other than placing your hands in the dirty water. Excellent shower stall with good water pressure, though the doors may have been put on backwards. The lighting and mirror were the best I've ever seen. In fact, all the lighting was great. Additionally, there were more and better placed electrical outlets and USB ports than I've ever seen. All in all, despite some excellent qualities, the room and experience were second class and it would be a long time before I ever returned., i

Yelp
We had a great checkin with Allen at this hotel. He was outgoing and shared all the amenities of the hotel emphasizing the location, brunch, the skyline rooftop and such. He thanked us for being Hilton Club members and was just excellent with hotel checkin. This young man will go far in the Hilton business as he gets what superior service is. The hotel is nicely located but had an issue on where the main elevators were and the large amount of people that sit on their door steps to eat, drink and does not give a great first impression to the hotel. Disappointed that there was no hotel bar or food services which takes away a star. Overall great location and service.

Yelp
On our recent trip to NYC we stayed 4 nights at Embassy Suites by Hilton. This hotel is in a prime location in Midtown within a 10-minute walk to Times Square and the subway station. We arrived late in the evening and was able to check in online prior to getting to the hotel. You're provided a digital key which is so convenient. Upon arrival we were assigned the wrong room. We requested a city view suite with a sofa bed. They gave us a regular room. Luckily they were able to accommodate us to a lower level. The suite was spacious with a king bed, flat screen LCD and a separate living area with a privacy wall. There is a sofa bed, desk, a second LCD tv, closet, mini fridge, coffee maker and a safe. The bathroom is nice with a walk in shower and illuminated vanity mirror. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The front desk is a bit clumsy but other than that everything was excellent. The lobby has a lounge area and a bar/restaurant. They provide welcome complimentary alcoholic drinks and snacks from 530-730pm on the 4th floor lounge. Breakfast is available daily. Embassy Suites is ideal for families as all the tourists sites are walkable or accessible by subway. We would stay here again!

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay. The front desk staff are phenomenal. Never had ANY location (and I travel often) be this on top of everything and attentive. As I am reading other comments, some things I also have noticed as well. Happy Hour is between 5-6:30pm so expect to wait and have no where to seat. If your one of the ones that gets there between 5-5:10, you will get a table. But, expect standing for a while before seat/table comes up. That happened to me 2 of the 3 days I was there and I would come down between 5:15 and 5:30. Breakfast isn't any better on process but I believe it is due to time frame and small location for sitting. Other than that, yes room is smaller than other Embassy's but space is critical in NYC so it's understandable. My room had great views, and living room was spacious too. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I was disappointed in the Embassy New York. The easiest part was the check-in and check-out process since I have the Hilton app. The elevator was not working properly and needed to be press several times before a carousel arrived. Who wants to run up or down the stairs from the 18th floor. Housekeeping only changed towels and made the bed with the same linens daily. The sink in our room was stopped up and almost caused flooding. No hot water available after midnight. The floors were not swept and trash was not taken out. For $1000+ you would think you would receive better service. The price doesn't match the hotel. I have received much better service at other Embassy Hotels.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel for a night after our cruise before heading home . The hotel is beautiful from the inside and out . They have a little bar area right next to the lobby . Nice server. Breakfast was fine and your normal fair. Happy hour was fine. Staff we met through were all nice and courteous. Check in was a little of a hassle since there is no early check in at all . Not even a hour or two early was possible. Luggage porter was great . Housekeeping did a nice job with the room and our room was very nice and Clean. We did have amazing views. And of course location was perfect . Reason not for a 5 star review is is due to not getting the welcome we are used to with our statues that we have previously received . Other than that the stay was good.

Yelp
Stayed a weekend on points this time around but will definitely be back. Location is convenient to all of Times Square. Got upgraded and the room was ready early for us. Their Garage is on 36th (found that out a little too late, while checking in I got a $115 parking ticket). The room was smaller, clean and fresh. They have a managers (drinks and snacks) special daily 5-630pm. Full breakfast buffet with omellete station and offered us a $25 credit per day in their on-site store. The staff was friendly and responsive to all of our needs. Enjoy!

Yelp
Overall a nice place to stay. It's a good convenient location, and it was clean and comfortable. I liked that I could check out on my TV. I liked that the heat/AC in my to worked great. There are some things that need to be improved: So many drunk people in this hotel. Breakfast was slammed and overcrowded (but the food was good, much better than standard continental). A line for the elevators (which admittedly traveled pretty fast). And the hotel bar sucks.

Yelp
Great location. TV was out during my stay. Watch out for the new Urban Resort fee on your final bill.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite mid-range hotels in Manhattan. It's very centrally located, just blocks from Bryant Park, a twenty minute walk from Union Square to the South and Central Park to the North. My room was more spacious than most hotel rooms I've stayed at in NYC, with a large bathroom to complement that. The gym on the 4th floor had a view overlooking the street, providing a great people watching opportunity while trying to pass time on the treadmill. I appreciated the larger-than-normal gym, which included 3 treadmills with TV's, elliptical, a bike, free weights, a weight machine, and plenty of towels and mats. They also include breakfast with your stay, which I love. Breakfast was packed between 8-10, and the line for the elevator often meant people would wait 10-15 minutes for the elevator to come. If I hadn't been almost 20 floors up, I would have just taken the stairs!

Yelp
This is a great location. I expected better out of the hotel Rooms aren't as as clean as the price you pay. Housekeeping comes around at 5pm leaving towels on the door. There seems to be a cart permanently in our ha Internet is difficult to log into, freezes on select to connect page. Front desk seems unresponsive, even to a life time diamond. Luggage storage is smaller than you'd think for a mid town hotel. Get there early if you need to store a bag for a few hours.
