Jon was our server. He was very nice, but he seemed inexperienced. I was hoping to get breakfast but they had stopped serving most breakfast items before we got there. We ended up getting a Caesar salad with chicken and a Rueben sandwich with Cajun chowder soup. All the food was good but I don’t feel like it was worth the $56.94 we paid. The restaurant is nice looking, inside and outside.

My mother and I had breakfast this morning. Kennedy was our server and hostess. She was wonderful. Kennedy greeted us kindly and sat us immediately. Our food was delicious and the coffee was fantastic. Kennedy made my moms whole day by being personable, kind, and welcoming. Servers like that make a restaurant grand. Thank you.

We are first time visitors to SLC and took a chance on the Emigration Cafe because to was close to our lodging. We are glad we did. The service, food and atmosphere were all good. There is a small parking lot and it was very convenient for us.

Excellent brunch, extra attentive and friendly service, in a great environment. We were able to celebrate Grandma's 95th here, with 20 people for brunch. The staff was excellent (even put her cake in the cooler for us) while we enjoyed our brunch. Drinks all came out extremely fast, and were all delicious. The food took about 15-20 minutes but was worth the wait. Highly recommend their lattes, Chicken & Biscuit, and burgers. Also the millionaire bacon is fantastic. We really appreciate the excellent service and great food, and will definitely be back.

First time visiting. So glad for the recommendation. Wonderful menu. Terrific beverages. Aimee was awesome. Loved the spinach artichoke appetizer and Baja Shrimp 🌮. Delicious 😋

Google
This nice restaurant caught my attention, and I came to give it a try. The menu did describe tasty meals, but the food was ok, and for the quality of the food, I think it was overpriced.

I went here for lunch two days in a row while I was traveling for work and it was phenomenal each time. They had allergen warnings on their menu, a variety of options, and some fun in house made sauces. I 10/10 recommend the miso ranch and the Royale burger. The servers were attentive and kind and the restaurant was clean!

Google
The food here is super good and fresh tasting. Had the artichoke dip for an appetizer and mac and cheese, the pork tacos, and pepperoni pizza. The mac and cheese was my favorite and was so rich and creamy. The atmosphere is nice and private feeling. I wish it wasn't raining as the outside looks absolutely amazing. The service was also super friendly and quick.

Yelp
We were excited to find a casual, healthier, cafe in the area. Emigration Cafe didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was bright and modern, and the staff were very kind. My only complaint would be that while friendly, the service was slow. There was only one girl working. The food was delicious. The Butter & Bib Salad was so fresh, and the buttermilk dressing really added a nice flavor. My Mom loved her Smoked Turkey Club and the Tomato Basil Soup was some of the best I've tried in recent memory. I would give 5 stars if service was better, but I really did enjoy the food. I'd come back.

Yelp
I'm reviewing our recent breakfast experience. I was very disappointed with the menu. I chose the breakfast burrito, and found its shape and taste to be underwhelming. Difficult to cut without creating a mess on the plate. The potatoes and bacon didn't go as well as I thought. I was looking more for a traditional burrito that you would get a a diner like Big Bear or should I dare say Dennys. What I got was a gourmet style burrito. My kids ordered te French toast. It was way too sweet and drowning in the custard. In short, maybe a little too gourmet for our likings. The pancakes were soggy and butter and syrup were not good. I'm told their lunch and dinner offerings are much better; however, if you're like me and my family, this may not be the best location if you're looking for a traditional diner experience for breakfast.

Yelp
Very cozy ambiance. It's in the best part of salt lake surrounded by lots of cute restaurants and shops. Appetizers are amazing! We had the burrata, artichoke dip, and loaded fries. Had the shrimp tacos - they were fine, not the best. There's probably better things on the menu (their pasta and sandwiches looked amazing). Overall a great place to go with a party!

Yelp
The restaurant has dog friendly patio. They brought our dogs water and gave them some pets! It is a cute place for brunch date. I enjoyed my tomato soup and BLT. I would give it a 10/10. My husband gave his chicken n biscuits a 7/10. He said the gravy had a funny flavor. I will be coming back here with my fur babies!

Yelp
They made some changes, improved the menu and food consistency and I really like the Emigration Cafe now. Just wish they would bring back the trout tartar!!!!

Yelp
This is a great restaurant tucked away in one of Salt Lake's cutest neighborhoods. I highly recommend their Butter & Bibb Salad (topped with salmon) and their Bison Burger - both are regular go to's for me. Fries that come with the burger are also amazing. We dined here tonight and enjoyed a great dinner (of the above items), all served up graciously by our awesome waiter Chis! I should also mention that their cocktails and desserts do not disappoint. Cheers!

Yelp
Tried this cute spot today for birthday brunch with friends. We always do brunch first our collective birthdays since they are a few weeks apart. Will was our server and was fantastic and super respectful quietly removing dishes and checking in when someone was speaking. Was friendly and attentive. I had the Brioche French toast with lemon curd and blueberry compote (it comes with maple syrup but I skipped that). It was seriously so amazing! I probably could have had another piece for the price but it was delicious. I also had the grapefruit mimosa, the pineapple mimosa, and the pomegranate mimosa (they have orange too but I skipped that one) they were really good, though the pineapple didn't have super strong pineapple flavor but that's ok. I really enjoyed the grapefruit. Both friends had the complete breakfast with bacon and medium eggs but one felt the egg could have been cooked just a bit more for her liking. I didn't have the coffee but both friends did and it smelled amazing! A wonderful brunch in the books!

Yelp
Emigration had amazing food, but the service was absolutely unacceptable. We made a reservation a week in advance and it wasn't even busy. It took so long to have our waiter even take our drink order and even longer to take our food order. We were there for over 2 hours being continuously forgotten about and ignored. Once we finally paid there was automatic gratuity of 20% tip on the order. The waiter was even had the audacity to say "if you'd like to add more to the tip just let me know." Genuinely the worst service of my life, but unfortunately the food was amazing.

Yelp
Mother's Day Brunch. Smooshed 5 of us into a table that was fit for 3. We could not get in/out and buffet was all that was offered. I bumped into the adjacent tables every time I tried to get out for more food. We asked for a different set up and were told no because of others reservations. (We, too, had a reservation) anyway, we won't go back. Disappointed mom here!

Yelp
The food was great. I had a turkey club I think. So good. And a great place for a chill outdoor lunch. Allows dogs on the patio :)

Mark W.

Yelp
Pros: a lot of the food was good. Cons: some of the dishes were not as good. I wouldn't usually take food from a buffet and not eat it, but today I left a lot on my plate. Poor: Our server was very slow to clear our plates, and we never got refills on coffee, water or other drinks. Staff seemed overwhelmed by a 75% full restaurant.

Yelp
Came here with my mother had a lovely incline cider an amazing burger. The service from Chris was impeccable. He brought joy. He brought laughter and all around. The ambience was nice not too loud not too quiet spot on five star review here!

Yelp
We're very grateful for this cafe in the heart of our neighborhood. We've never had a meal we haven't enjoyed. The atmosphere is great and the service is always personal and friendly

Yelp
I tried brunch here and it was delicious! I had chicken and biscuits with scrambled egg instead of sunny side up because I don't like runny eggs. The biscuits were yummy and I liked the gravy but it needed some salt. The service was alright this time around. The restaurant is modern and inviting

Yelp
So good I came back the next day with another party Between all of us we had: artichoke dip (some of the best I've ever had), lemon rice soup, house salad, baby kale salad, sopresetta pizza, and cauliflower carbonara. Every dish was absolutely excellent! Soup and salad came with grilled bread that was shockingly delicious for a slice of grilled bread. Artichoke dip came with strips of pizza dough type bread... Also delicious. Booths are comfy, atmosphere is casual, service was good. Parking is limited.

Yelp
Just stopping by to say that my friend and I had a most delicious breakfast at Emigration Cafe. Our server Quinn Cappellucci was so spot on with making our visit stellar! Thank you Quinn He had back up from Haylee Evan's that helped in keeping things clear and cleaned up. Thank you to the both of you! Aloha Margeaux

Yelp
We have been coming here weekly (a large party who spends a ton of money every time we dine) and today was the day that sealed the fate... We will never be coming back. We make reservations every week for large parties at 10am. The restaurant is always open and has never been at capacity and they hassle us every time we may have a few extra folks join... Even though there are tons of open tables. I have always called ahead of time to flag that there will be more folks and each time Silvana, the host and co-owner, makes it super uncomfortable despite there being tons of open tables (we have never seen the restaurant at capacity). The service has been a bit spotty but given this is one of the only spots that will do brunch reservations we have been coming weekly to accommodate our large group...well that ends today. This week, we had 10 instead of 8 and Silvana said we'd be unable to sit together (despite a mostly empty restaurant... fine). She was not interested in seating us near one another until multiple folks had to ask (see photo of how empty the place is). When it came time to pay our server Hamlet did what he's done every week and we pay per couple. Silvana came up to me and asked me if I was the one who made the reservation (I did), pulled me aside and said we'd need to pay in one bill, that it was too difficult to do sepearate checks despite us having done this the last 5 weeks. When we tried to question why she got super defensive so we indicated we would not be coming back (honestly the food isn't worth the terrible attitude when we are weekly patrons)... Gracie, who has seen us come in every week took care of things and gave us all individual bills, although they still had my husband's card and folks had already started to Venmo me bc of Silvana making such a fuss. They went ahead and silently added a 20% gratuity despite really bad service. Gracie, bless her, was the only saving moment.. we generally tip 25% to support local staff and small places but she made it so uncomfortable we simply paid and left. Unfortunately, Silvana, who said she was a co owner, has lost our group of 8-12 (depending on the week) given her curt attitude and lack of respect to what would have been an otherwise amazing group of loyal patrons. Other issues to flag: Every week we've had issues with service and food (missing parts of the order, today they said the cook forgot about my husband's grilled cheese and it was burning so they had to cook a new one, overcooked eggs). Cinnamon roll comes out overbaked and missing the topping...Overall inconsistent with food so you never quite know what you'll get. If you like bad service, inconsistent food, and terrible attitudes this is your place!

Yelp
This place was a mixed experience for me. There are many good things about it and a couple things that could really use some attention but overall the service was great. I really love the fact that people are cheerful. They seem to be glad that we were there for breakfast And whatever happened to be wrong.... They made right and without any kickback. Here's the high point! They have these breakfast potatoes that are so damn good. It's just not normal. So this fact, alone is a good reason to visit. I recommend that you not order the Royale breakfast sandwich. It is in abomination and really in my estimation completely not even edible and totally gross. But basic things like French toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon all very good and beyond adequate so it's a nice place to find yourself. The second real problem here for me, and it's huge, is the coffee! It is just like swill. Coffee is one of life great pleasures at least make it decent... Right? So if coffee isn't important to you and you can avoid the Royal breakfast sandwich it's pretty great in every other way.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday and it didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the turkey club and my partner had the breakfast burrito. My sandwich was actually pretty good with the maple bacon, avocado spread, and pickled onions adding some balanced additional flavor to a normally pretty standard item. It was definitely better than the breakfast burrito. The worst part was the coffee situation at the restaurant. They serve coffee from a coffee bar on the far side of the restaurant that seems to be catered for to-go customers. We had both ordered coffee and our drinks sat at the bar for probably 5-10 minutes before being brought over to the table. I started to question whether we were supposed to get up and grab the drinks from the bar before someone who wasn't even our waiter ended up bringing them over. Our coffees were also oddly served in to-go containers and the Logos coffee they have isn't that good. It all seemed fairly unorganized. This isn't a bad place, there are just other places I'd recommend over it (at least for brunch).

Yelp
I've been here twice. This first was for a work lunch and it was pretty good. I had a salad which was a good light lunch. It's attached to a coffee shop so the lattes are good. Not busy midday during the week. While I was there, I saw signs they had mother's day brunch so I made a reservation to come back. The Mother's Day brunch was disappointing (and $360 for 4 people!). It was buffet style with a variety of options but inconsistent food. There was no eggs benedict as advertised, only dry scrambled eggs. The salad had run out when we were there. The fruit/mascarpone parfait was great but the salmon and chicken were dry. The set up was crowded with the buffet line directed through the seating area so it felt squished. Lots of kids around the buffet table touching the food and generally looked messy (I know the kids aren't the restaurants fault, but I think the crowded layout contributed to that and they could've been more on top of cleaning up the display and replacing food). They did not have pricing noted at the time I booked, only that there was a $25pp cancellation fee. It totaled $360 for a buffet for four people--I checked after and the website listed $65/per person (would be $260 total pre tax and tip) which means they automatically added gratuity that was calculated post-tax. I completely understand that special occasion brunches have a set fee, but the auto gratuity felt inappropriate, especially considering it was a buffet and we did not have large party. When bringing the check, the waiter announced the total to the whole table like it was a grocery store checkout. Some discretion would be appreciated so that we could pay and celebrate mothers without them thinking about the cost of treating them!

Yelp
I'm quit fawned of emigration cafe but sadly my most recent visit did not hit. As person who is sober for 13 years I enjoy their drink selection but their food is really a hit or miss. The service was AMAZING Amiee who was our server was very nice and helpful. Anyway it wasn't too bad.

Paige H.

Yelp
We love this restaurant, food is great. But we had a server who was HEAVILY under the influence of some substance. He could barely read his screen while taking our order, made random irrelevant comments, and it was super uncomfortable. I know several other tables complained as well. We told the manager, and we were served two more times by this individual. We were told he would be sent home for the evening, but he continued to serve others all night. Absolutely terrible service. Very disappointing since we love the food and ambience so much.
google avatar

Josh W.

Yelp
Came in on a Tuesday morning for breakfast. Had never been here before but the reviews looked promising for the most part. Ordered the Butter Pecan Cinnamon Roll, I was excited because I love cinnamon rolls, but would be disappointed as it was dryer than the Southern Utah desert and that was WITH the glazed pecans on top. The egg sandwich was decent, but the "millionaire" bacon must have its money in crypto. Not sure I'd pay $14 for it when there are better egg sandwiches elsewhere. Given what I've read from these reviews I'm really hoping we caught them on an off day, but honestly, I'm not so sure.

Yelp
A brunch place that take reservations!?!? Who knew such a thing existed! I love brunch but I hate long waits so what a great find. This was a perfect spot for a group of girlfriends to catch up. It was a perfect set up and volume for chatting. Our server was so kind and the perfect level of attentive. I felt bad for him because my friend is gluten free and she asked about a menu item that was labeled GF and he was stuck explaining that it technically was not (it was marked as GF but only if you got it without bread). I was surprised such a trendy, nice spot didn't have a gluten free bread or side to offer her, and it was a bummer about the misleading menu. That's the only reason for 4 stars. The server was so sweet and he clearly felt terrible. I my daughter got DELICIOUS pancakes and I had the yummy avocado toast. I will definitely be back here soon. Seems like a great patio.

Kim C.

Yelp
I come here all the time and it never disappoints! The service is always attentive and warm. The breakfast burrito surpasses any burrito in the salt lake valley, with the millionaire bacon as the star. If you're looking for the best espresso martini you've ever had - ask for Landon - he will rock your socks off with his food and drink recommendations. The sunny patio was super chill and the cherry on top of the best Saturday afternoon at Emigration Cafe!

Yelp
Utter F*cking Trash. Glorified Villiage Inn. So I'm an avid fan of Pagos. Adore their food and advertise it as one of the top restaurants in Utah to thousands of my singles dining groups. I recommend it to everyone as one of the top 3-5 places in Utah. Normally, for the holidays I take my mom to Tuscany where the food and service is impeccable, but this year she wanted me to spend less money and go someplace different (the $100 I saved was so not worth it). I knew Pagos owned this place so I figured I was safe. Wrongo. I reserved the lounge offered on the website in prepay to avoid children's noise since we're older and wanted a peaceful dinner. When we arrived we were informed that the lounge reservation was b*llshit and we'd have to endure screaming, noisy babies, and kids that were running around the place. My Americano coffee was Denny's toilet water coffee. The fact that this place claims to have a coffee espresso bar is a travesty. The buffet was the smallest, most disappointing one I have ever witnessed. 1/3 of it was filler individual items in bowls for making a salad. Food was dry and the desserts were the only saving grace. The beef and potatoes were the only tolerable thing. All the things you'd find at other cheap buffets like Chuck-a-rama weren't present. Its a glorified Village Inn with obscene pricing and clearly just a holiday money grab. To add insult to injury we asked for a take-home box to leave with some of our dessert leftovers and told that was not allowed as it was "buffet style." As a well-off single man who has dined in expensive places all his life, I have never been told I cant have a box for take home. WHAT THE F. The place was almost empty at 2:30 and they were closing the place at 3 and it was obvious most of the food would be tossed. Our waiter even asked the management and got a resounding "no." The worst part of this whole experience is knowing Pagos owns or affiliates with this overcharging Denny's. It has forever tainted my respect and admiration for Pagos. They should cut loose of this joint. I'm seriously considering removing Pagos from our recommended dining list for singles the experience was so offensive, lacking in service and food. I was so looking forward to going to Pagos with future dates but now I dont think I can stomach it. Urban Hill, Oquirruh, and other great places aren't tainted by this PR stink. Even Golden Corral would have had more food options and better service.

Emily Beatriz R.

Yelp
From the beginning, I always requested delivery. Last week, I went in person for the first time, and what a pleasant experience it was. Hamlet attended to us, and his service was impeccable. We are grateful for his attention, respect, and especially for his politeness in serving us. Great service!
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
The egg sandwich was better than I expected and very tasty! However, the service was very slow, especially given there weren't very many customers in the restaurant. It took a long time before the server asked for drinks and then an even longer time before she came back and asked what we wanted to order. The 2 coffees took a longer time to come out than the 3 dishes we ordered. Hopefully, the service is a bit more attentive next time

Dennis B.

Yelp
We had a great time interacting with Ammani she was so fun to talk too and helped us choose delicious things from the brunch menu The food was amazing loved the breakfast burrito and blueberry cobbler highly recommend the restaurant, Ammani, and the whole menu really

Olivia H.

Yelp
The prosciutto on the pizza is cooked instead of cured which I enjoyed. The brownie had icecream, peanut brittle, fudge, and a cherry on top.
google avatar

Dani L.

Yelp
So good! Sat on their spacious patio and enjoyed the sunshine. First visit, got pizza and a salad. My mom got fish tacos. One of the best pizzas I've had! Also got a latte and it was delicious! Great service. Can't wait to go back
google avatar

Yelp
It is Friday evening and our waiter is trying hard to cover tables as well as bartend. We have waited for our check for 30+ minutes. The food was really delicious (Mac cheese, butter lettuce salad and pasta roll) Service was poor due to not enough people. This is a beautiful space.l
google avatar

Phillip I.

Yelp
Ok, first of all, this place deserves more than 3.5 stars. We stumbled in on a Friday night, got a table outside right away. Our server Quinn C. was excellent, had great recommendations, friendly, checked in on us throughout. I got the bison burger - amazing. I'm kind of a burger snob and I can vouch for this one. My wife got the grilled cheese - also incredible, and that's coming from a couple of foodies... don't hesitate, check this place out!

Sammy R.

Yelp
This beautiful breakfast restaurant has exceptional service. We loved our waiter Chris. The area is beautiful and the food is delicious. We would definitely recommend visiting this place if you're in Salt Lake.
google avatar

Ward H.

Yelp
Not a good experience. Granted we were 11. But a Monday night and they were not crowded. Drinks took for ever to arrive. The beer was warm. We ordered apps at the same time we put in our dinners. They came out after our meals. Food was not exciting. There are better choices in SLC.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
The food was good but everything was pretty overpriced. I liked the the location of this place. I wish there was ice in our waters, our water wasn't really even cold, just room temperature. We had to wait a bit to order and get our check. I also had my 2 month old baby with me and I took her to the bathroom to change her and there wasn't even a changing table in the bathroom.

Karen O.

Yelp
Went during a week day lunch and sat outside on the patio. It was our first visit to this cafe, so the waiter was very helpful in menu suggestions. I ended up with the Emigration Royale breakfast sandwich, which was delicious. And there is an adjoining parking lot! A bonus since the Yalecrest neighborhood is often difficult to find parking.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
First off I'll give them an A+ for atmosphere inside - music wasn't too loud, perfectly lit, temperature was really good - a classy look! Food when we finally got it was good, not great. Had the flat bread appetizer and it was a little greasy but good. Got the pasta dish and it was pretty good but no bread with it. I feel strongly if you serve a pasta dish you ought to get free bread. Now to the worst part - service. We waited for quite awhile after they sat us and gave us our water before they took our order. Our appetizer must've taken 30+ minutes. We had to ask for napkins, then utensils. Then when the main course finally came they forgot my pasta dish and had to go back and make it. They took it off the bill which was huge. So kudos for making it right. Ambivalent if I'd go back or not. The burgers did look good. .
google avatar

Molly B.

Yelp
Food is super inconsistent. One day the salad was one of the best I have ever had. I have ordered it twice since, and been very disappointed both times. This place is potential, but the kitchen needs work.

Jason W.

Yelp
Great food, quiet atmosphere and a nice outdoor patio! The salads are great and there is a really good coffee shop attached too.
google avatar

Cori W.

Yelp
Went here yesterday with a large brunch party. We ordered several items off the menu and shared them around the table. WOW! The brunch food here was impressive. We had the chicken & biscuits which had the best level of spice to pair with the gravy that comes with this typical dish. We also had the pork eggs Benedict which if I had to pick a favorite it would be that. The English muffin this dish deeply comes on was like fried and really added to it. We had a side of bacon with what seemed like a thin layer of maple syrup on it. Might sound like a lot but they did it so tastefully. The potatoes were fried so well. Definitely a strong recommendation to have your next breakfast here.

Evie G.

Yelp
Two of the items we ordered came out wrong - but the food was overall super yummy! They have a coffee shop attached which is awesome. Took off a star because the service was a tiny bit off and the wrong food. The patio outside is amazing and the overall vibe is like a perfect Sunday feel I would rate the food alone 5/5!
google avatar

Tamara Z.

Yelp
The waitstaff was no good at all. It took forever to even get water. He did not write down our order, and of course got it wrong. I got soup and salad (not gluten free friendly). The lemon rice soup was too salty. The house salad had pickled grapes in it. Do not eat the grapes!! Whew-so sour and tasted like they were full of vinegar. The salad was also way too overdressed. My daughter ordered the burger with no veggies-yes it came with all the veggies. My husbands bison burger also came wrong. We ordered hummus to start, but way too much hummus for the pita bread (1) that we got. It would have been nice to have some veggies with it. The atmosphere is cute. I don't think I will be back. On a positive note-the fries were delicious!!

Yelp
We went again for a BDay lunch, we had great service from our server, Silvana was an amazing manager, she suggested us her favorites plates, that are now ours. We have Emigration Burgers, Bison burger, pepperoni pizza, soup of the day, as an appetizer we had the 3 cheese Artichoke deep, and we tried Hummus with pita breas, Silvana's bread,. Thank you so much, great service, amazing food.

Yelp
Great place for brunch and really any time of day. They don't seem to index on Yelp. What people don't realize is that Yelp is a huge scam in general and shouldn't be taken too seriously. See Billion Dollar Bully documentary and Fu@k Yelp. The end!

Alex K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service, multiple intimate nooks and crannies to sit, good coffee and music. Menu was so broad it was hard to choose what to get, in a good way. Best breakfast I've had in SLC.

Yelp
I'd give this place negative stars if I could. It's nothing but a high school reunion for the Yalecrest Elite, so unless you're in that category don't expect good service. I'm sure the food was ok, but we left after waiting for 30 minutes for someone to greet us at our table. Seriously, you need to fire the entire host staff and just start over. We watched as large groups of the East High Elite host's family friends were seated before us despite the fact they did not have reservations and arrived after us. Eventually one of the East High Elite hosts threw a bottle of water on our table without saying a word. Then we waited and waited and waited for a server to at least greet us. But nope. Then we left. Too bad bc I like having dinner options within walking distance, but this place ain't it Anyway, unless you're Yalecrest Elite with at least 5 generations in the neighborhood, this place isn't worth your time.

Yelp
Cold fries, $6 Tiny half full cup of rice soup $7 Salty AF Margherita pizza $14 Iced coffee $4.50 Insanely over priced. Cold fries. They did bring out fresh fries, but then gave us half the amount as the cold fries as punishment. Haha. The only thing acceptable here was every employee...extremely nice and helpful. And the coffee shop part is very cute. I can't imagine it lasting given that amazing food is right across the street. Gotta say its pretty telling that most all Of the five star reviews are from people who have never left any reviews before. Hmmmmmm.
