Yelp
Was overjoyed to find out Emma's has a location in Old Sac. Bought two packs of vegan and gluten free tamales for my lunches at work. Bought beans and rice to eat there. The veggie tamale is really good but dry. The potato black bean one is bland and drier. That's what happens when there's no cheeze. They get 3 stars for the veggie tamales. They get 0 stars for the potato ones, -4 stars cuz not only do they nuke as everything is premade, but they do it in plastic, and -4 stars for giving me regular sour cream even though I asked twice and the man working there insisted it's vegan. I should have proven him wrong on the spot cuz I knew it looked too white. So, if I could give them negative stars I would, for this location only. Idk about the other location. Beware of the man running the old sac location. He gives himself too much credit for being the force behind having vegan options at this location but doesn't even know the product line and which ones were gluten free. It was yet another thing I had to point it out to him. Can't believe his reason for nuking everything is "that's just how we do things here." When I saw that he pulled my beans and rice out of the microwave in the plastic, I said I won't eat that. He gladly warmed some up in a paper boat, but that does not make up for all the other crap.
