Emmy Squared Opens in Coral Gables Miami, Florida | Eater Miami
"I learned that this Brooklyn-born pizzeria is known for its Detroit-style pies and has opened its first Coral Gables location at 230 Miracle Mile, marking the brand’s second Florida outpost after debuting its first in Fort Lauderdale. Its focaccia dough undergoes a 48-hour proofing process and, instead of the traditional brick cheese, Emmy Squared uses a mozzarella and ricotta blend; a signature feature is the “Roni cup,” a smaller, thicker pepperoni slice that curls into a bowl as it cooks, creating a crisp, blackened edge with a greasy center—a style long favored in Buffalo and parts of the Midwest. The Miracle Mile spot seats 64 diners (52 inside, 12 outside) and offers Detroit-style pizzas in two sizes (8x10 and 10x14), including the Colony (red sauce, Ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapeños), the Big Hawaiian (Ezzo pepperoni, crispy bacon, pineapple, chile glaze), and the Angel (truffle mushroom cream, ricotta, mushrooms), along with shareable appetizers, salads, and a highly-rated Le Big Matt burger served on a pretzel bun with American cheese, special Sammy sauce, greens, and pickles. There’s also a diverse beverage program with cocktails, beers, wines, and mocktails, plus an Emmy Hour exclusive to the Coral Gables location Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with deals on fan-favorite items, beer, wine, and cocktails; Emmy Squared now has 27 locations nationwide in cities including New York, Washington, D.C., Nashville, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Fort Lauderdale." - Olee Fowler
