The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: Spacious space with decent seatings. There are also tables out when it's summertime. Not too clean as some customers leave trash behind and employees take long to clean it. Service: Acceptable. Food: These are definitely much better empanadas than others I've tried. However, they're certainly not the best. I ordered the Bacalao, Shrimp, Veggie Pastelon, Mixed Vegetables, and the Apple Pie empanadas. They mark their empanadas' dough with letters for easy flavor recognition. All of them were alright. However, none of them really hit that point of worthiness, considering their size and price. Oh, if you want a sauce, you'll have to buy it. Something that in other places is included with your order. Price: Honestly, the quality is kind of noticeable. However, the flavors are not exactly there. The flavor part does not justify their prices, at least for the signature empanadas. Perhaps the traditional ones taste better.

I tried empanadas from Empanada City and they we absolutely delicious! It had that perfect homemade taste—crispy and golden on the outside, with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling inside. Each bite was packed with fresh ingredients, and you could tell it was made with care. If you're looking for authentic, homemade-style empanadas, I highly recommend checking out Empanada City. You won’t be disappointed!

As a Latina, i can say the following statement: THE BEST EMPANADAS IN THE CITY. So delicious, they even have their name branded on the dough. Just, so creative with the fillings. I got the shrimp and guava/cheese empanadas and I had to order more. Please come in here and try them out. You will not be disappointed !!!!!!

My 1st time going and I live not that far, how did I not try this spot before. The ropa vieja is my absolute favorite. I also had the mac n cheese w spicy chicken so good and the Cuban was good too! The pernil is seasoned to perfection. Def going back , maybe ordering tonight for dinner 😋🥰 P.s. they imprint the initials of the name into the crust. Super smart 🤓 love it.

best empanadas in bushwick, although a little small size wise. excited to try the rest of the fillings; the spicy mac & cheese is my favorite so far. passion fruit limeade is a MUST, dine in and get the $2 refill to go.

On Sunday, November 10, I ordered four empanadas—two beef and two chicken. A few hours after eating, I became very ill and ended up vomiting only the chicken empanadas. The sickness persisted throughout the day. It seems there may be an issue with how the chicken empanadas are prepared, as they could potentially make people sick. I hope management reviews this and takes steps to ensure a safer experience for customers.

Take out review: Pros: a ton of different empanada fillings and drinks, the avocado sauce was pretty tasty, good amount of filling in each empanada, good service, store is clean and modern. Cons: they forgot one of our items, some empanadas were too salty. Overall: best empanadas ever? No, but definitely the best empanada spot in Bushwick! Will return to try out some more flavors.

My favorite empanada was the Americana. I can’t wait to go back and buy more. I bought chicken, beef and sweet plantain with cheese as well. I also tried the mango smoothie and the frozen piña colada. If I were to choose one, I would order the frozen piña colada again. I tried all three sauces and those are really good too. What’s cool about the empanadas is that they are marked with its flavor. So if you bought chicken, it would say (PC) for plain chicken on the side of empanada or (B) for ground beef. Don’t miss out on the Americana, definitely add it to your order.

Empanadas are way too small for the price Plantain empanadas we're ok Guava and cheese was overly sweet needs a lot less of the guava to balance the sweet with the cheese

Ive been meaning to try this place for a while since its so close to where I live. After I saw they had jerk chicken empanadas, I had to try it. I had the classic beef, jerk chicken and the steak and plaintains empanada. They filled it up with meat and it was pretty flavorfull as well. I purchased all three of the sauces. I would recommend all of them but the pink one since it was really just ketchup and mayo. I would get them again. It was a decent amount of meat, the price was okay, and the empanadas were nice and crispy.

I saw this restaurant as my friend and I arrived in bushwick last night and made a mental note to return. We walked there from our air bnb. When we first walked in we were greeted very warmly by the friendly staff members who were patient and gracious enough to give us recommendations. I went with a ropa vieja and pastelon empanada. I am Puerto Rican so i was going against my usual for the sake of trying this new place. Both were good but the ropa vieja was AMAZING. the meat was so tender and juicy all while the empanada remained crispy on the outside. I ate my meal with passion fruit lime aide and it was a perfect pair. Before leaving I just felt like I needed the guava and cheese empanada so I ordered one to go but I couldn't wait to eat it and it was DELICIOUS. honestly 10/10 I won't ever forget this place! The restaurant itself is so cute and decorated nicely and very clean

WOW! WOW! WOW!! Amazing tasting empanadas. We just about tried every single one of them. Very affordable and yummy At first we ordered 5 and then we had to order another 3!! Tried the Ropa Vieja - flank steak, peppers onions in a red sauce. Shrimp - tasty Smac n' cheese - has a nice little kick to it. Very rich and cheesy Grilled chicken - packed a punch! Had good flavor but was a little on the salty side. Americana - it had a mixture of everything. Good Pizza burger - might've been our favorite one!! Delicious sauce, perfect amount of cheese. Just loves this one. Would order it again for sure. Cuban - probably our least favorite! Barely tasted any pernil, and packed with waaaay too much ham. Left some of this one behind cause we weren't too crazy about it. Tried every single sauce. All were good. My personal fave was the avocado. The heat was Hot but not overbearing and the pink was just like a regular mayo ketchup mix. Not bad. I've already told a few people about this place and it hadn't even been 10 min of me leaving there. Definitely going to be coming here!! Nice place. Friendly staff. Oh and check out the pretty empanadas! They are all marked with initials so that you can identify which is which! Pretty cool touch. Love it!! Love it here!!

Delicious and crispy empanadas. My fav is Mac and cheese and chicken empanadas. Pizza and burger is tasty aswell. You will love this place

Ordered a bunch of different empanadas to try, and it was good that they "stamp" the exterior to differentiate one from the other. But they still got my order mixed up. I got a couple that I didn't order, and didn't get the ones that I really wanted to try (plain cheese and the pastelon). At least they had the amount right, since I got 7. Will definitely order again or stop by, I really need to try that pastelon.

Sooooo good. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors. Great prices and fresh delicious food.

Oh man am I glad I found this place. On my first visit I went and had the spinach and ricotta empanada and the plantain one as well. Both were made fresh and tasted great. Take my advice though, give these things about 15-20 minutes to cool down as I ate these in my car and nearly went down with a 3rd degree mouth burn. This place is brand new, super clean, and has a modern look. The girls here are pretty nice too! Eat here!

I stop through empanada City to pick up to go orders when I visit New York. Probably one of the most authentic empanadas that I've had. My favorite is that ropa vieja, 2nd favorite is the classic chicken

Good empanada's. downside- they DON'T give complementary salsa with empanadas! I ordered 10 empanadas and they didn't even throw in one complimentary sauce! This is the only empanada spot that does this. Also, they burned 3 out of the 10 empanadas! Didn't drain the oil before they bagged and sent for delivery! empanada was covered in grease Won't order again

This was recommended to me so we went to try. I bought Solomon's one of everything. To share with the family. They were all great. The guava & cheese, chicken, pernil,pastelon,pizza, and apple pie were our favorites. The person at the register was very nice.

The first time I ordered, I got the three #signature empanadas (Bacalao fish, Jerk Chicken, Ropa Vieja). These were so amazing. The best empanadas I've ever had. So flavorful and juicy. I didn't need the #extra sauces I ordered (which were good sauces). I didn't want to cover up the flavors of the empanadas. The second time I ordered, I went with the non-signature empanadas (Plain Chicken, Ground Beef, Spinach and Ricotta). These are not as good as the signature ones and they needed the sauces. #They were still good. Probably as good as any empanada I've had before. But the #signature ones were way better than any I've had before.

So glad this place opened up! Delicious empanadas!! Had Bacalao, Ropa Vieja, sweet plantain and cheese - all great. Oh, and the salsa is fantastic. Fresh and hot! Friendly service. Comfortable seating area with lots of nice window light. So happy to see a Puerto Rican, Dominican, Latinx owned place in the neighborhood. I live close by, so I've got a new regular spot!

I was craving for empanada, and give a try to Empanada City in our neighborhood. I brought a few different varieties to tried them out. The empanadas tasty so good, very juicy & flavorful, chicken, flank steak, spinach, mix vegetable are good, almost every kinds are good besides the mozzarella cheese When I open the bag to check them out all 10s of empanadas in different bags but no indication of which favor. The guys are very nice

Fabulous very authentic. Great staff and amazing food - empanadas were very full. I would recommend sweet plantain and cheese and Cuban.

While driving through our old neighborhood hubby & I stumbled upon Empanada City. We ordered Bacalao, Ropa Vieja & Beef. Wow! Amazing flavor in every bite. The empanadas are generously filled and the pastry is light & crisp perfectly fried. The ropa vieja tasted like my grandma spent all day in the kitchen showing that beef lots of love the flavor was on point. The bacalao was also authentically tasty hubby loved his beef empanada. The avocado sauce & homemade hot sauce were perfect additions. Empanada City is a bit of a drive for us but we will back for more of this deliciousness.

Amazing! The empanadas were so so good. We probably ordered just about every kind. Our favorites were.... well, all of them! My kids loved the plantain and cheese one. They LOVE maduros. My husband really like the pizza burger. I really enjoyed the shrimp and the pastalon. The sauces were sooo good too. You can really tell that there was a lot of thought out into the menu. So so good and really great flavors. Even the plain chicken one was good! We will definitely be back again! I am so thankful we happened to drive past and notice this place. Awesome place! Oh, and I literally just took a bite of the flan and it's delicious too! Next I'm going to try the chocolate, and maybe coconut too! :) AWESOME PLACE!

Amazing empanadas! First time trying this places after patiently waiting for many months for them to open! Very excited and will be coming back.

YUM!!! These empanadas are seriously great, if not the best I've ever had. The flavor is on point, and the homemade sauces really complement each empanada in a different way. I got four empanadas (Bacalao, Cuban, Pastelon, and Chicken) with the Avocado and Heat sauces on the side, and it was a perfect lunch. Will definitely be back soon.

First time ordering. I got 4 Empanadas and finished em before I could even think about taking a pic. Got the Cod, Shrimp, Mixed Veggies and the Sweet Plantain+Cheese. All of them were so, so good, man. The food was ready very quickly but everything tasted completely fresh. Great sauces too. Delivery was quick as well. I'll be ordering from here again!

The empanadas are good and I'll rate them a 5. But they rarely get my order correct. Also, the paper sleeves are not labeled and you have to guess what's what. I don't visit often and it's frustrating to nearly always have my order wrong even though the order on receipt reads correct. Because of that I give customer service a 3.

i got the bacalao (cod fish), ropa vieja, and shrimp empanadas- all three were delicious. great seasoning, piping hot, perfectly fried outside, and good prices. added a pic, but it doesn't do it justice. this spot is a local gem.

This place took forever to open finally but the wait was worth it. Surprisingly delicious, fresh empanadas! Ropa vieja was stuffed full of tasty pork - never had so much meat in an empanada before and it worked nicely. The shrimp empanada, while a little short on shrimp, was delectable thanks to a fresh tomato/onion salsa. 'Heat' sauce was a tasty, fresh chimichurri mix. The lemonade was too sweet for my taste, but it was made from fresh fruit. My only real nitpik is that all the empanadas are deep fried; delicious but heavy. I would give in to empanada temptation more frequently if this place starts serving baked ones.

Been waiting forever for this place to open and it didnt disappoint. The skin on the empanada is the perfect texture and thickness. The filling was really well seasoned. Tried the beef to get a baseline and it definitely passed the exam. Recommended !!

Empanada City you are simply remarkable, I had a lovely experience here today. Rates are absolutely reasonable. If you don't know what to order, go with Empanadas, it is just fabulous. The staff was attentive, fast, and very helpful. I definitely recommend coming here.

I went into Empanada City for the first time and I did not have a pleasant experience. Mariam was taking my order and extremely rude. She didn't want to answer my questions and had a terrible attitude. However her coworker was very kind. Not sure if I will return because the service was very unacceptable and other people in the restaurant noticed as well. Also my order was wrong.

Ordered 6 different kinds of empanadas for the whole family. No one was a fan, but we usually love empanadas. Food tasted like stale food cooked in stale grease. Didn't help that when I picked up an employee was eating, sans mask, at the counter where orders were being prepared. I've heard nothing but good reviews from friends who have eaten here. Maybe we were just unlucky.

These are the best empanadas I've ever had! The Americana and the ropa vieja were amazing. Only got two but wish I ordered three. Lizzy and Melissa were very friendly, professional, and gave great recommendations.

Good for a quick bite but does not taste authentic. White rice not yellow. And does not have much flavor in rice and beans. Check your order before you leave - mine was missing multiple things. Also, empanadas are not labeled when packaged.

This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered delivery. The food was all hot upon arrival. I tried multiple flavor empanadas and the rice and beans. The plain chicken and rope vieja were my favorite. Pastelon rounds out my top three flavors. Skip the rice and beans. They lacked flavor and love. Just get an extra empanada instead.

The food was cold, but once placed in the oven it was better. The smoothies were watered down, but you could tell if the food arrived earlier it would've been delicious. I'll try again hopefully it's hot . The avocado sauce yummy, the pink sauce was just completely hot!! Safe to say I prefer the avocado sauce. The rice and beans was completely exploded out of the container. It's a bit discouraging because my heart was so set on the empanadas. I just know if it were warmer or would've been better.
