"There's nothing not to like about filling wrapped in crusty dough, but Empanada Mama takes it up several notches. These are not your typical spicy beef empanadas. Menus change daily, but you'll find worldly influences like Korean beef or Mexican street corn varieties. It's first and foremost a takeaway place (don't expect to sit and sip a glass of wine with your empanada), but it's proof that grab and go doesn't have to mean greasy and uninspired." - Nancy DePalma

The Chipotle Chicken Empanadas are so flavorful and good. They sold out of the Buffalo Chicken ones when I got there. The Chipotle Aioli is also good. Walk up window only, no seating. Pay cash and get the sauce for free.

We used to get empanadas from Empanada Mama quite frequently. My kids loved coming here. However, I don't think we've been since covid. They've pivoted to walk-up only, which isn't much of an issue for us. We ordered 18 of various flavors, and all were good. But, it seems that something has changed over the last few years. I couldn't put my finger on it, but they weren't as flavorful as I remembered. Again, good, but something is... different. That did not stop me from enjoying my meal very much. I should note that although the various boxes are stated to come with dipping sauces (1, 2, 4), we were told that if we paid by credit card they would charge us .50cents per sauce; if we paid with cash they would be free. Didn't love that, but since so many other establishments are placing a surcharge for credit payments, I guess it works out to be a bit cheaper. Anyway, I'm glad we tried it again after so long, but not sure we'd be back anytime soon.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots when I'm working in Doylestown. Food is fast and delicious. The staff is kind and attentive. I've ordered from here often and I've never received a mistake in an order. Sometimes I wish there was more than one vegan option offered per day but it's thoughtful that the option rotates so it's not always the same thing. I've tried all their vegan empanadas and they're all perfect! Also, I appreciate the business offering a vegan sauce. Most restaurants in Doylestown have vegan options without a vegan sauce to go with them. The vegan chipotle sauce is great!

Delicious, fresh, and creative empanadas. A bit expensive for what you’re getting, but if you treat yourself once in a while, it’s okay. Lovely staff.

AMAZING food! Empanadas and sauces were DELICIOUS and hit the spot. I’ve been recommended this restaurant for a while by multiple friends and finally tried it. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Take away only. Easy to order and pickup. Often sold out of flavours. Flaky pastry and wonderful fillings that are just right.

Having enjoyed authentic empanadas in countries like Colombia and Argentina, I was eager to try Empanada Mama in Doylestown. What a mistake. To call what they serve "empanadas" is an insult to the dish. These are nothing more than heavily overstuffed meat pies, bearing little resemblance to the traditional, flavorful, and often more delicately filled empanadas I've experienced. The fillings were excessive and overwhelmed any potential for nuanced flavor. The pastry, while perhaps technically a crust, lacked the characteristic texture and proportions one expects from a genuine empanada. It felt like they were trying to compensate for something by simply cramming as much filling and odd flavors as possible inside. To add insult to injury, the prices are exorbitant for what you receive. Paying a premium for authenticity is one thing, but overpaying for an inauthentic imitation is another entirely. Frankly, I'm baffled by the apparent popularity of places like Empanada Mama in Doylestown. It's disheartening to see establishments serving such inauthentic fare thrive, while truly authentic and high-quality restaurants like Quinoa, Blue Mediterranean Grill, and Cross Culture struggle or even close. It makes one wonder if the local palate truly appreciates or even recognizes genuine (international) cuisine. If you're looking for real empanadas, save your money and look elsewhere. Empanada Mama is a far cry from the real deal.

My first time here and have been wanting to try this place for a while now and I must say it did not disappoint! I asked for them to pick 3 for me along with the sauces and OMG DELICIOUS!! I’m hooked and cannot wait to go back and try the other flavors. YUM!!
