I thought I already covered this. We ate here in November, when we were in town for the Baron conference.
This place is EPIC. Large, dark dining rooms, carpeting, white tablecloths, upper tier service, and your water and wine glasses don't go empty.
I ordered their larger filet, medium rare, with sautéed spinach. My wife ordered their smaller filet, medium rare, with sautéed spinach. I also had their French Onion Soup.
First, the soup: It was served hot, piping hot with a nice, melted layer of mozzarella cheese in a ceramic bowl. It had plenty of onions, and made me remember what good French Onion Soup tastes like.
The filet was served, and it was cooked to order, exquisitely tender and tasted fantastic. I was cutting it in progressively smaller pieces to enjoy it longer. My wife had a similar cut, tender, and delightful on the palate.
The wine list was impressive. They even had Chateau Y'quem available, which was a bit beyond my budget, but the first place ever I'd seen that. It took a while to sort through their impressive array of Cabernets, but I finally found one, which was outstanding.
For a finish, we split their Crème Brule, which had a nice, caramelized top and was very tasty and delightfully light.
The service was absolutely spot on, helpful, and polite. The manager made several visits to see how our dinner was.
If you are in New York in the Times Square area, you have to stop in. If you love steak as much as I do, this is one you don't want to miss.
