"Empirical Brewery is a brew pub in Rogers Park where you’ll pretty much always be able to get a table, even if you’re with a group. They incorporate their beer into as much of the food as possible, and the menu lets you know which dishes are beer-infused. For instance, in addition to stuff like corned beef with beer mustard, there are things like shepherd’s pie wontons with beer gravy. The beers are boldly flavored, and you can definitely taste their influence in the food. So if you don’t like ale in your brussels sprout salad, this might not be the place for you." - Adrian Kane

A tasty flight, great appetizers, an amazing friendly bartender with a good friend = perfect weeknight out. It's a very comfortable place to hang out.

They're very nice and welcoming here. The interior is sort of simple, but clean and nice. They offer to go beers, and growlers, which will be great for future get togethers. They brew good stuff, but I hate how IPA centric they are so far. I wish they would expand their selection to more interesting things, but I don't blame them because it seems Chicago in general is way too IPA focused that it's insane. Really good, affordable food menu. I always sit at the bar, and the bartenders have been really welcoming and attentive. This is a wonderful spot to grab a beer and food in Rogers Park, and to come and visit from other neighborhoods. I hope this place is here for a very long time.

This is a great addition to RP neighborhood! The mussels and sandwiches are excellent and the beer is high craft level you've come to expect from Empirical. Friendly staff and cozy environment. The room is a nice wood open space which looks great and can make it a bit loud - but for a brewpud that becomes part of the whole vibe. Check it out for sure. We love this type of business being in our area~ )

Empirical definitely has one of the best brew pubs in Chicago! The restaurant is the perfect size for anything from dinner for two to a night out with friends. The restaurant itself is clean and has a cool, subtle art deco style. The menu is extensive and Empirical has made an effort to ensure that almost all of their food items incorporate their beers, which is an awesome touch. I had the poutine and pub burger, and both were phenomenal! All the staff members we interacted with were fun, friendly, and professional. Finally (and most importantly for a brew pub), the beer is awesome! You can't go wrong with any of their brews, but my personal favorite is the Cold Fusion Cream Ale and Phase Transition Porter. If you go to the Empirical Brew Pub you won't be disappointed!

Amazing food. Highly recommend the grilled chicken sandwich. Great atmosphere. Service is lovely and fast. Prefer eating there when the game is on mute - it's beautiful inside, and the setting is ideal for drinks and conversation. So glad we FINALLY have an ideal spot for date night nearby.

Fantastic food-- my favorite is the fish and chips. Do yourself a favor and order it when you're there next! So crispy and fresh. The coleslaw could use some work, maybe a little sweeter? But I crave those fish and chips weekly! The beer selection is great, I love that they have beer cocktails as well. It's a fun spot indoors and the patio is small but comfy during the warm months. It's family friendly with high chairs but no kids menu-- we didn't exactly expect one but have been appreciative of how welcoming staff are to the little ones in our fam. A must visit spot in Rogers Park!

Go for the beer, stay for the food. The beer selection is excellent - treat yourself to a beer flight first to experience the full range of selections on tap before committing to a pint. The Cold Fusion Cream Ale is extremely sessionable and is by far my favorite beer that Empirical brews. The food is also top notch and the menu offers a wide selection of options you would expect to find at a brew pub. There are plenty of shareable plates and entrees to choose from, and you can never go wrong ordering a burger. The game is always on, the beer is always cold and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable - Empirical is quickly becoming a favorite neighborhood destination to enjoy the company of friends.

I visited for trivia on a Tuesday night and had a great experience! It was a lot of fun and the food and drinks were great. I've had delivery from the brew pub once before as well. All of the food I've tried so far (tap burger, chicken sandwich, poutine, mac and cheese) have been awesone. I love how Empirical's food really showcases their beer as well.
