Where to Eat Near Mexico City's Major Museums

"Near: Museo Jumex Enrique Olvera is arguably Mexico’s most famous chef, and there’s an outpost of his casual Eno franchise on the ground floor of Museo Jumex. The open-air atmosphere matches the architecture of the museum itself, which houses a large permanent collection of modern art and rotating installations. If you come by in the morning, get the enchiladas rojas rellenas de quesillo, and if you’re there during the afternoon or evening, go with the torta de milanesa: a breaded chicken breast draped with cheese, avocado, and tomato. Add a paloma and a slice of the four-cheese cake for dessert." - guillaume guevara

Eno in Mexico City was truly an amazing experience. It is perfectly situated right next to, or essentially within, Jumex. As someone who frequents museums and their cafes often, I have to say that this one ranks number one in my experience. They offered a great menu that wasn't limited to just pastries. Sometimes, you're craving real food, not just croissants and cookies - give me some meat! I loved that I was able to enjoy tamales from this fantastic little quaint restaurant. I also appreciated the fact that the restaurant was made out of marble, so even though we were seated outside, it still felt very cool. The huge trees, particularly the Aubrey ficus, were beautiful statement pieces. Another aspect I truly enjoyed was that while there were definitely people around, the tables were spaced far apart, allowing for a comfortable and private dining experience. Additionally, I liked that the tables were spacious. Overall, I would rate this experience as a perfect 10 out of 10. The food was excellent, the vibe was just right, the aesthetics were on point, and the grapefruit juice was next level. This would definitely be a place I would always visit when I'm at Jumex in Mexico City.

I personally found this Eno location very mediocre. I remember the quality of the food actually matching the price point. I’m disappointed to have spent 100 MXN for a small slice of cheesecake that wasn’t even tasty. The matcha latte was okay but I’ve literally had better matcha lattes from Starbucks than from here. I can’t speak for their main courses, but it personally wasn’t worth my money. BE CAREFUL: Prices on the menu are BEFORE taxes.

This is a nice outdoor restaurant that is next to museo jumex. It has lots of open air and nice plants. When we came there was only one server though, but I can see he was trying his best and working hard. I had the chilaquiles with the pollo and it was okay. My boyfriend had the milanese chicken and it came with a very very small size potato salad. It was a bit expensive for the price but I think it was also organic. We both also had the grapefruit drink but it was warm with no ice. If you do eat here and need to use the washroom it is a bit of a hassle, because the server has to take you to the museum entrance and then the security guard has to let everyone know you are going in to use the bathroom. And then the bathroom is a flight of stairs down into the basement!

Surprisingly yummy guacamole & chips. The coffee was well-balanced, not too much acidity from the coffee while the milk was just enough to accentuate the flavors. Service was swift and cordial. Love the airy open patio next to Museo Jumex.

Set on a plant-filled patio at the bottom of Museo Jumex, ENO is a nice hideaway to stop and get a nice meal. The espresso was very good and food was delicious. This was all set again wonderful Spanish music.

What a great spot to take a breather after walking around the city all day and visiting the local museums. Great spot for my mid day cafecito ☕️ and the pastries 🥐 were so light and airy.

Chef Olvera we were super excited to try your place but all of us were disappointed in your restaurant...the Caesar salad was terrible...the milanesa with potato salad was incomplete served without tortillas y salsa...drink service was super slow for what we ordered... margarita was lots of ice with only half the glass full ....service was a mess half our table got food then they served our final guests aguachile after we had mostly finished...I don't mind that it's overpriced but expect better food and service from a world class chef with your fame!

Delicious fresh food, great atmosphere, location, with lots of vegetarian options and fair prices.
