The 23 Best Restaurants In Florence 2024

"This family-run natural wine bar and bistro isn’t where you come to solely drink fruity gamays or other carbonic macerated pours. It’s a part of Florence’s new wave of modern wine bistros that serve Tuscan food with a sprinkling of French. Think whipped baccala spread on toasted brioche, fresh pastas rolled out in-house and tossed with juniper-accented hare ragu, wine-braised beef cheek, and sourdough instead of the usual saltless Tuscan bread served around town. Spontanea’s warmly lit dining room with eccentric ’70s retro details has a handful of tables typically full of locals laughing, chatting, and knocking back glasses, and it’s generally pretty cheery in here. It works for either a full meal or an apertivo hour—whenever you come by, say hi to Nicola (the owner and somm) and always trust his wine recommendations." - coral sisk, georgette jupe

The best natural wine spot in Florence. Incredible selection, amazing food, and Nico (the owner) makes you feel like family. Unpretentious, soulful, and 100% worth it. 🍷✨

Such a pleasant spot!! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes themselves are delectable. We ordered the guinea fowl pasta and ravioli and both were incredible.

Amazing, Nico is a superb host, who knows all his wines and food. There's always spontaneous conversations with people outside while we enjoy their lampredotto which I have ordered 3x times in 2 visits.

One of our favorite places to dine in Firenze! Nicola the owner welcomes you with open arms. The menu changes weekly depending on the fresh local produce that Nicola selects. Nicola asks about your wine tastes and what you have selected for your dinner. He then gives you a choice of wines and describes each one’s taste and background. Dinner was delicious and the wine was fantastic. Reservations are a must!!!

Only came here to drink, hence no food rating. Charming little enoteca in the nicer (IMO 😁) and quieter part of Florence across Palazzo Pitti. Nicola was super nice and passionate about his craft, and it was fun talking to him and learning regardless of whether you are a casual or an experienced drinker. Natural wine only, but very well curated and tasteful list of very well priced wines (a Rinaldi Barolo for less than €200? What???) Reservations definitely recommended. We didn’t have one but Nicola was kind enough to let us stay and enjoy a bottle throughout the night. When it was time for us to leave and give up our table for a guest who had reserved the table we were occupying, Nicola offered to arrange a small table at the back so we didn’t have to rush to finish our bottle. Came for the wine, but stayed for the hospitality and experience. Definitely a must visit! Will come back to try the food next time.

Was very kindly squeezed in for dinner by the lovely Nicola as we didn’t manage to secure a reservation via phone call, and the entire dinner blew us away. Started off with some fantastic local and small producer wine recommendations; incredibly stories behind each bottle, and very unique taste profiles. Slow foods black pig prosciutto for antipasti was out of this world and we were so tempted to order another. The rest of the courses were excellent as well; ravioli, rabbit tagliatelle, beef cheek. Wanted to buy Nicola a glass for wine for such a fantastic evening but he declined and instead gave us a complimentary slice of their chocolate cake instead! A must return for me if I ever return to Florence!

This is without a doubt the best place for dinner in Florence! Nicola, the owner, is a fantastic host. His knowledge of wine is outstanding, and he speaks about it with such passion and enthusiasm. The natural wine selection is amazing, and the food is exceptional. I probably had the best pasta of my life here: a homemade pappardelle with wild boar ragù.

A wonderful evening. Gracious hosts, considered food, fantastic wine. If you're in Florence and are even remotely interested in great food and wine, don't miss this spot. Book ahead, as with anywhere great in Florence, space is limited. You won't regret it. The food was amazing, the whole place was comfortable and welcoming, with the best hospitality we have received in Italy thus far.
