"Located in a nondescript northside strip mall, this small Mexican grocery store and counter makes the best tacos in town. Go with the asada or rich and savory carnitas, and make liberal use of the red and green salsas that come with your order. You also can’t go wrong with any of the tamales, specifically the jalapeño and queso, which you can also buy in 12 packs for parties. It gets pretty busy during lunch and dinner, which is why we like it best for takeout, when cooking at home feels as daunting as performing brain surgery." - sarah probst

I just finished eating a steak taco & a pastor taco. I’m regretting that I didn’t order more. I’m definitely going to eat here again! 100% awesome! (Bring cash to save a little money. They add a 3.5% fee added for using a card.)

Nothing better than an authentic neighborhood taqueria! The food is DELISH. My personal faves are the Tinga and Chorizo tacos. I’ve never had better chorizo… it must be house made! Perfect amount of spice and juiciness 🤌🏻 The service is also spectacular! Sometime we wait a little longer, but the food is worth it, as is the community feel. It’s a great date night pickup meal or even for the whole fam. One of the best parts of relocating to the Northside! 😎

Google
Enrique’s is delicious. Well stocked Mercado and delicious food. Can get busy around lunch and a slight wait. If waiting for your order pay attention - your order may be ready at the register. Our go to’s Steak Tacos, Steak Torta, all the Tamales are delicious! Highly highly recommend

Google
would not come here to get food whatsoever I just waited 45 mins for some tacos, meanwhile I'm watching other people eat while I'm in the store just waiting. Didnt care at all. I was the first person in there. while I do understand times get busy. Id expect that if you were the one the first who ordered you'd get your food faster. Pretty disappointed to be honest. I'd recommend going somewhere else for your needs if you can

Google
They sell great authentic tacos for a reasonable price. Best place ive been to so far and i can think of 3 other places ive been to. Plus its also a grocery store and sell fresh meat.

Wanted some good tacos! Found this place had great reviews so had to stop. Carne Asada tacos were amazing. Super good tamales all 3 kinds. The Mexican street corn was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Place was amazing and will be returning for sure

Food is amazing, if you have 20-30 min stop by and enjoy the food 😋 they also offer market items.

Yelp
This is the closest, local spot for tacos so I've been here a few times now. The food prep is pretty quick, so they don't take orders by phone. This is true, since it only took about 10 minutes to get my two asada burritos, four tacos (half carnitas, half chorizo), an elote and salsa---with one order ahead of mine. The man taking orders is always friendly and approachable. My favorite thing to order is their steak burrito. It's filling, flavorful, and they take the time to grill both sides making the tortilla crispy (mmm!). I also love their salsa roja! It's spicy and has a smoked chipotle flavor. They never seem to throw enough of it in my bag, so I've had buy an extra container to be satisfied. Their carnitas is often dry, chorizo over-salted/greasy and the elote was watery. I would recommend asada and lengua, if ordering tacos. These items would generally get a two-star review, but because of the service, price, and of course my favorite item, I give them three stars and am a returning customer.

Yelp
There was no option for 10 stars or I would rate Enrique's at 10. Ask Enrique to decide what you should eat. Get what his family eats at home. Amazing food. Super friendly.

Yelp
True authentic Mexican food! Delicious! Very friendly customer service! Fast service reasonably priced. I love this place.

Yelp
Enrique's Market is a part taqueria, part butcher shop, part Mexican grocery store that serves the north side of Madison. The restaurant has a nice selection of Mexican street food (tacos, tortas, tostadas, burritos, tamales and elotes). The carne asada is excellent - well trimmed and loaded with flavor. I am less of a fan of the carnitas which tends to be too dry. The homemade salsa are solid as well.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time to pick up some lunch to bring on the boat and tried two carnitas tacos, two pastor tacos, and one chicken tamale. I agree with an earlier review that the carnitas were pretty dry - the side of green salsa definitely came in handy. The pastor had good flavor, but were rather oily. Despite all this, they still tasted great and at $2/taco they don't have to be perfect. The $1.50 tamale was the winner of our lunch, by far - it had a nice, smoky flavor. They also have some weekend specials written on a piece of paper by the counter. It's a bit chaotic inside (at least on a Sunday afternoon it was), so even though they have a few tables and table service with menus, I think I'll stick to carry out.

Yelp
Best place in all of Madison to get authentic Mexican tacos, and I've tried Gloria's, la rosita, and the place by woodmans lol, Enrique's still at top for me. The people here are very genuine and helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming and always funny conversations and friendly encounters.

Yelp
I drive by this market daily. For some reason it popped into my head that they might serve food, and I thought, if they do, I bet it's amazing. I looked on Yelp and Google, and sure enough... tacos, burritos, and more at this little market! I tried the Pastor taco and a Carne Asada burrito. Both were awesome! I look forward to trying more varieties of the tacos. The burrito had a toasted tortilla and fit so many great toppings inside! (Without busting open like other places.) Plus, the total was $11, which would beyond fill me up! What an awesome find! And maybe dangerous...

Yelp
Just stopped in this small Mexican/Latin American market for a quick carry out dinner. The man running the counter was very friendly. We tried the pastor, chorizo, lengua and carnitas tacos. They came in corn tortillas with onion and cilantro and a green salsa on the side. They were delicious! They have a few tables in front, so you could eat in if you wanted but it seems like more of a carry out place. If you are looking for some quick delicious tacos on the North side check them out!

Yelp
Great carne asada (steak) tacos, great tamales. Pastor ok. Carnitas are basic. If everything was as good as the carne asada and tamales I'd give it 5 stars. Quick service, cook was nice. Woman behind register was knowledgeable, quick and very courteous. I recommend this place if you're looking for a quick fix!

Yelp
Very good tamales (and for $1.50 ea). My friend said her tacos were fantastic. See pic for menu, has a bunch of seemingly authentic meats

Yelp
Hidden gem on Madison's northside. If you crave authentic Mexican food (and I'm not talking Habenero's...) this is the place! Inexpensive, delicious, fresh, tasty, authentic and worth the investigative travel to find their spot. I told you it was a hidden gem! Amazing salsas- all fresh and homemade, real chorizo, and great anejo cheese. Try the enchiladas (any) or spend the extra $1.50 for the empenada. For two, you can walk out with under $20 and have delicious leftovers for the next day. Service? Pleasant. Helps if you speak Spanish. Atmosphere? It's not a sit-down place (well, not really) so order to go as it's also a busy bodega. Visit again? Absolutely! Compared to any other Mexican restaurants in Madison- or the trendier places that attempt to serve authentic Mexican food- no one else is even in the ballpark. Oh, and the Mallards ballpark is a block away for your summer picnic fun! Thoughts during lunch? I wonder what they sell at the D&S bait shop (store next door) or who can reach the cotton candy on the 10 foot bodega shelf?

Yelp
Best tacos in Madison! They also have uncooked meats and delicious bakery items . Tamales are fresh and you can buy them warm or by the dozen to take home. Love this place!!
