The 38 Best Restaurants in Montreal

"It was a big deal for Montreal’s NDG neighborhood when a crew of young restaurateurs launched this buzzy wine bar on Sherbrooke Street West. Since 2021, they’ve been plating food that effortlessly adapts to the seasons and weaves a medley of flavors from around the world. Think salmon pastrami with whipped labneh and focaccia, or ricotta-stuffed agnolotti pasta in miso brown butter. A rotating selection of natural wines and some impeccably executed cocktails — like a martini with watermelon, grapefruit, and cardamom — emerge from behind the deep-green marble counter." - Valerie Silva

The 38 Essential Restaurants in Montreal

"It was a big deal for Montreal’s NDG neighborhood when a crew of young restaurateurs launched this buzzy wine bar on Sherbrooke Street West. Since 2021, they’ve been plating food that effortlessly adapts to the seasons and weaves a medley of flavors from around the world.  Think: hamachi crudo with kimchi and leche de tigre, cacio e pepe roasted cauliflower, or chanterelle mushroom risotto with parm crumble and white truffle oil. The drinks match the vibe, with a rotating selection of natural wines that keeps things fresh and some well-executed cocktails — like a martini inspired by caprese salad — served from a mirrored bar nook behind a deep-green marble counter." - Valerie Silva

The Best Cafes in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Having made quite the splash in its first year in business, this Sherbrooke West café-buvette has a killer list of breakfast sandwiches to complement its coffee and natural wine list. Though out in NDG, Entre-Deux is not to be missed on a Montreal café crawl." - Daniel Bromberg

The Best Wine Bars in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"As far as pandemic babies go, Entre-Deux has captured the hearts of Montreal diners. Found along a stretch of Sherbrooke Street West, in the mostly residential district of NDG, this all-day “café-buvette” serves up a delectable assortment of sandwiches and small dinner plates, but its cocktails and carefully curated wine list are also a large part of the draw and keep locals coming back again, and again, and again…" - Daniel Bromberg

The Best Restaurants in NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace) | Eater Montreal

"NDG rarely gets the hip spots, but this coffee haunt by day, wine bar by night, from Marc Flynn, Félix Poirier, and Alex Quintin has been a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Slip inside for breakfast sandwiches in Martin’s potato rolls or return for heartier dinner fare and carefully selected wines in the evening." - Erik Leijon

Such a chic, delicious, understated restaurant! doesn't try to over embellish itself, and let's the amazing service and outstanding food do all the work. Our server was funny and informative, and on point checking in on our group of 4. their cocktail menu is a little more quirky in terms of flavors, but they make other typical cocktails as well. big wine menu, and some other open bottles off the menu that you can sample to see if you want a glass. amazing. The food is incredible. We ordered 7 plates and 2 desserts to share between us and it was just enough for us to feel satisfied and not too full. everything was delicious, fresh. The jambon beurre is amazing - been on the menu since the restaurant's inception. I would go back again and get all the same. or try the other things we didn't order. We will be returning regularly.

An absolutely adorable, simple, cozy space where the food and cocktails are the successful focus. Unexpected but not outlandish flavour combinations made every plate absolutely delicious. Cocktails were equally simple but great! Portions were very generous and staff was super friendly and attentive on all levels! Great neighborhood place. Totally recommended!!

Our first visit here in a few years unfortunately missed the mark. We arrived around 9 on a recent toasty Friday evening to find a a handful of people sitting inside and, given the lack of AC, we opted for a spot on the compact outdoor patio where another small group of people were gathered. The service started off fine and became less perceptible as the evening wore on. Almost more time was spent socializing with coworkers and regulars than was spent looking after basic things like pouring wine and checking in with the few tables present. Having worked in the service industry and knowing how competitive the Montreal market is, we knew before the end of our meal that a return visit was unlikely. As for the food, we particularly enjoyed the beef tartare and tuna taco which was the special of the day. We didn’t try dessert though the options sounded interesting.

Great little restaurant, definitely a notch or two above what's usually offered in NDG. Simple food executed perfectly, we had the tartare, green salad, agnolotti and the ham with comté dish. All were good and the ham dish was absolutely delicious. Good inventive cocktails, good wine list but I wish they had more wine by the glass. Speedy and efficient service. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Entre-Deux is a great choice for an intimate dinner without breaking the bank but some things could've made the experience better. To start, the vibes right when you walk in are impeccable. The restaurant is dimly lit with candles and the bar is warm and welcoming. The service is personable and the waiter made great recommendations. The duck breast was the star of the show with the crispy layer of skin and well seasoned tender meat. The mushroom conserva also earned its stars with a great combination of savory umami with a hint of spice. The deconstructed croque madam special was also decent. The trouble came with the cod which was very salty. We asked to send it back and our waiter was gracious enough to help us replace it with the agnolotti. While the agnolotti tasted great, we would've liked the sauce to be a little thicker so it would stick to the agnolotti. We had white wine to accompany our meal which helped tie the meal together. Overall, I would say Entre-Deux is a great meal that gets you full with a reasonable price tag. And 11/10 for vibes and service.

Yelp
Such a unique dining experience! The food is stellar. We ordered every menu item minus two, and were blown away by every one. The vibe is definitely on the chill side, it's not super buzzy. If you are looking for a joint to start a fun night out, this might not be the best option, but if you're looking for a homey vibe, don't sleep on it. The kitchen is open so we watched the sole chef prepare our meal, a simple, yet personal touch that really added to the experience.

Yelp
All I can say is wow! I have been meaning to visit entre-deux for a while, and I am glad we finally made it for a date night last Sunday. This small-ish, cozy café/resto/bar in NDG serves both lunch and dinner and while the aesthetic and ambiance can seem quite lowkey and unassuming, the quality of the food is absolutely highkey, menu is well thought out & reflects fresh seasonal ingredients and above all, incredibly delicious! (Chef is from Manu Cornuto). They have great selection of natural wines (my fave) and they carry a lot of Dieu du vin wines (another fave local wine company). We ordered a bottle of wine for the evening but the bartender is the mixologist from Cloakroom so I can't wait to return and try their cocktails as well. It is a tapas menu made to share but the portions were surprisingly quite generous and we ordered 3 'appetizers', 1 'main' and a dessert between the two of us. The beef tartare and the bitter lettuce salad were both amazing (and I was too hungry to take a photo of these dishes). The grilled cauliflower with mornay sauce alongside the braised rabbit was also to die for. I am not usually a dessert gal but I was very grateful that we tried their dessert of the day as it was so good! Based on reading the menu and their story, I knew I was going to like this place but I can't wait to bring more of my friends here. It is worth mentioning that I thought the pricing here is quite fair for what you get, especially seeing as many restos upped their prices significantly post-pandemic. It could also be that they have 25% off all wine and cocktails on Sundays and we came on a Sunday (it was a very nice surprise ). Overall: 5 Food: 5 Service: 5 Value: 5 Ambiance/Atmosphere: 3.8

Yelp
Cute cafe in NDG also serving lunch and dinner. Had the chance to try their popular Nordic sandwich which consists of of shrimps, fried onions, dill and celery in a potato bun. I also tasted their tater tots (hash brown fries) with garlic sauce. Both were tasty but I would say that the sandwich is on the small size and not filling on its own. The garlic sauce was good but it made the tots soggy. I wasn't very fond of being charged higher than their online menu but it happens. I paid $22 for small Sandwich and fries so a bit on the higher price point. Staff was friendly and efficient. I would try them again in the future.

Yelp
As many foodie Montrealers I have been to most " top 10, top 100 " listed restaurants to Montreal . When I got invited by friends to go to Entre Deux I really did not know what to expect. I had never even noticed this unassuming place in NDG. And WOW what a pleasant surprise !!! The food rivals the most renowned Montreal restos and let me tell you its even better than some. The fish was one of the best I have ever had in this city and the appetizers were all excellent. The fusion of food is innovative and the flavours are heavenly. The wine list and desert were both excellent . For me , this was my best summer meal so far this summer .

Yelp
The place is nice, good music. But the menu is very limited. The chicken sandwich was small and dull. The aubergine sandwich was disappointing, it was supposed to have hummus but they just barely spread a little bit on the bread, with a very small portion of cheese. The special was a hash brown which was tiny. I have seen pictures of good food in the past from this place, I was asking the waiter if they had any of those, he said the menu has changed. This is the first time I'm so disappointed in a place that had good reviews either in Yelp or in another platform. Check my pictures if you want to understand what I'm trying to express here. They don't have tater tots anymore and were replaced by the hash browns.

Yelp
Incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff. perfect date night spot to fall in love with someone or the bar itself.
