Very delicious, high end restaurant downtown super close to the capitol. Had the delicious sea bass & my husband had the short ribs, I tried it, perfect comfort food. Drinks tasty, & we also tried the pecan pie for dessert. All so delicious. We got there around 6 & it wasn't too busy, but as time went by, it got busier & busier. I gave the service 4'stars, not to dis the server, but unfortunately they must have been short staffed because the poor girl was working the whole restaurant pretty much by herself, she did have help from another girl, but I hope they get more staff soon.

Went for our 21st Wedding Anniversary. Called and made reservations, and let them know of the special occasion when they asked. We were greeted both at the door and by our waitress wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Our table was set with a card signed by the staff wishing us the same - that memento came home with us. We also got a complementary glass od sparking wine each for a Toast. The small gestures went a long way. Staff overall was very attentive and very good at their jobs. Food was excellent. We had the crab cake appetizer, the Famous Bowl and Pork Belly entrees, and Tiramisu desert. All were outstanding. We will definitely be back.

The food was top-notch. I loved both my salad-- so fresh and yummy with a delicious dressing-- and my sumptuous braised short rib. The only drawbacks are the loud dance music (which doesn't match with the restaurant) and only cake for dessert-- in a French restaurant?!

My husband and I had dinner at En Vie this evening to celebrate our anniversary. It was phenomenal!!!! Making the reservation via email was so convenient and we received a response within an hour or so of our initial email asking if we were celebrating a special occasion and if we had any food allergies. Upon arrival our table was ready for us right away and they had placed a happy anniversary card on the table. We also were given a complementary champagne toast for the occasion. Our food was amazing. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The wines that my husband and I had were great as well. The dessert was beyond amazing. I had the biggest most decadent piece of chocolate cake ever. The service was amazing as well. The waitress that we had was very friendly, answered any questions that we had, and was very prompt. We barely had to wait at all for anything. They also kept our water glasses full and checked in with us multiple times to make sure everything was to our liking. It was a great dinner experience and a perfect place to have a dinner dare. I loved the atmosphere of the place too.

The atmosphere is always so chill here and it’s my go-to for amazing cocktails and decadent food. It’s just fancy enough that I can be adventurous without it being too fancy to understand the dishes. Always recommend it to anyone looking for a great vibe and some of the best food in Lansing.

This place was excellent. My wife and I went here for an anniversary a few months back and were really pleased. The food was awesome, I really enjoyed my short rib. They also had gluten free chocolate cake when we were there. Our server was friendly while not being overly chatty. We felt very welcome. The atmosphere doesn’t scream fancy just given the location of the restaurant but they do their best to make it feel very high end. Overall this place is on the pricier end of where I dine but I will be back when I can.

We’ve been to EnVie a few times and recently went for our anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by Lance and they even had a personalized note on our table signed by all the staff. The food and drinks as well as our service from Lindsey was excellent. Highly recommend EnVie for any special occasion. Thanks for the great experience!

The food was really good and for a reasonable price. The Whitefish is great, pork belly is very tasty. The lack of French inspiration was a bit disappointing.

Dinner here last Friday night to celebrate son's graduation from MSU. Made a reservation based on reviews since we were flying in from out of town. Didn't know what to expect. Hands down, one of the best meals I've had ever. From the atmosphere to the cocktails it was amazing. Staff was awesome as well. Went with the short ribs and they were unreal. The flavor and tenderness were off the charts. I will probably never return to Lansing, but EnVie makes me want to a whole lot.

I ate here with a friend. The food was excellent. We had braised short rib, a goat cheese appetizer and a steak bowl along with a mousse dessert. The food was flavorful,. You definitely get your money's worth. The service was impeccable and our server was VERY attentive!

EnVie seems to appreciate the finer details both for the food and drinks. The bartender created some tasty cocktails and used some interesting twists. I had the pork belly which was delicious served with asparagus on a bed of polenta. I think this may be one of the finer dining options near the Capital. Staff were friendly and the bar at least had its share of regulars which to me was a good sign. The decor is upscale, light and inviting. I think EnVie is worth a visit.

I would like to start with everything is done well at this restaurant, I am thrilled with the experience! The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! I look forward to returning to Envie to check out more of their menu and perhaps be able to have the same waitress.

Absolutely amazing place. It was our first time there and we were greeted with a handwritten welcome by the staff. They took excellent care of us- it was above and beyond the great things I had heard about it. Every dish showed amazing care to detail and the seasonings were perfect. This is by far the best food I've had in the capital area. It was the best meal I've had since we were in Europe.

This is an update; I want to say we have been here three times and each and every time, we have had a delicious and unique meal. The ambiance is cool and refreshing, clean and comfortable. The service is the best I've had in years- between the waitstaff, bartender and owner/manager, we were not neglected. As it was our anniversary, we were given a glass of sparkling wine as complementary along with a hand written note. We were also given complementary appetizer (arancini) which was delicious. We ordered the chickpea salsa as an appetizer with crunchy, homemade tortilla chips with a hint of sweetness before moving in to our entrees, which the famous chicken bowl and Strega New York frites. We had leftovers for lunch and they were just as good. I cannot say enough that this restaurant is the real deal; a perfect 10.

Food and service were amazing, as always. I had the Duck Bowl. The bird was cooked perfectly. EnVie always had an upscale ambiance. It's a true gem in downtown Lansing.

I'm in Lansing/East Lansing, Michigan for the first time and discovered the fantastic EnVie by reading reviews. We had a fabulous time and ate great food. By sitting at the bar I was able to engage with the thoughtful proprietor Lance and EnVie's mixologist Travis who crafted a complex Mezcal Old Fashioned for me. It was a smokey and tasty concoction. EnVie's eclectic menu will capture the fancy of all, listing both down home staples and gourmet creations. My wife's chicken bowl was scrumptious, and my meatloaf as good as Sunday supper at Grandma's. (Not my grandma, but yours. My grandma was known for her latkes) EnVie's hamburgers are amazing, and have garnered national acclaim. Cool, upbeat music played in the background, and EnVie has a hip vibe without an ounce of pretension. With its bright, modern decor, EnVie must be a destination restaurant in this area of Michigan. We were fortunate to find it.

Nice trendy vibe...The menu changes periodically to keep things new and the food is always really good. My favorites are the sea bass, duck bowl, and mussels frites. Make sure to call ahead if you want a table.

My husband and I we here about a month ago for a much needed date night out. We split a nice bottle of wine. I did the shrimp cacio e Pepe. It was wonderful. My husband had the seafood risotto. It was the first time he did mussels. He said he keeps thinking of how good it was. This is high praise from a man who was vegan for fifteen years and finally came around to seafood. The service was great. We did a blueberry goat cheese appetizer that was fine, but not too memorable. I think next time we will do the whitefish spread. The food was season perfectly without being over-done.

Good food but crappy old fashion. Bartend asks me how was my old fashion was, i honestly answered not great. It was watery. And how can a decent bartend miss a a cherry in an old fashion. He responded with "you drank the whole thing" lets just say it feels like diversity us not a thing there. Just an opinion. Very cold treatment. If you're of a certain persuasion no matter how decent you look, won't get warm n fuzzy here. $25 for a beer and old fashion cocktail. Took the high road and gave 25% tip

We celebrated our 13 year wedding anniversary and everything was amazing. Our waitress was attentive, kind and professional. The food was phenomenal and the ambiance was great as well! We will definitely be returning for more than just special occasions!

Hot honey chicken sandwich was dry and bland. Service and ambiance was great. Felt very expensive for the quality of meal.

This place was a shock to me! I'm from the Lansing area and I never knew it existed but I'm so glad I got a chance to try it out. The shrimp was amazing and the steak was really good as well! The pasta noodles were stuck together in one large clump which was quite bizarre to me. I didn't enjoy having to eat a literal ball of pasta noodles. The vibe was elegant and the music was low enough that you could still hear the person sitting across from you. The waitress did just stand there at our table a few times while my company and I were talking which was kind of awkward. So besides those two things I had a really great time here! I would recommend for a night on town.

Food was good and the service was great with a nice ambiance. Only thing I didn't care for is my fries was over cooked so they wasn't the greatest.

Here for the third time in two weeks- this time was for our anniversary- they gave us a sweet card and celebratory drinks! Great waitstaff with a great attitude! Top notch crab toast appetizer, the en vie signature bowl was fantastic and the pork belly was superb (super yummy blue cheese polenta). The burger and fries that my son had the other night was excellent and two thumbs up for the meatloaf from two different grandparents. Overall we highly recommend it for your next night out!

We loved this place - fair prices and large portion sizes, delicious food and drink, excellent service. Their menu is so interesting, we had a hard time choosing! We started with the smoked whitefish pate which was so delicate with the perfect texture, served with yummy bread. Both of my companions went with their famous bowl and both loved it - you get lots of yummy potatoes and the steak tips - which were also on my pasta - were so tender and delicious. My only slight complaint is that the pasta seemed a bit clumped together - but I do know that it's homemade pasta, which is a bit stickier, and it did absorb the sauce nicely, which tasted great. Just toss it a bit when it first arrives at the table, would be my suggestion. Delicious. I also took home a slice of the cinnamon chocolate cheesecake they were offering and I'm glad I did! A perfect cheesecake with chocolate sauce. We will return every time we visit Lansing.

This place is the BEST. I'm actually obsessed. Staff and food are incredible. Personal favorites are the jump start and the goat cheese and ricotta dip. The pickle burger, chicken sandwiches and cacio e pepe are amazing too. Envie fizz is delicious. I love (and miss) the summer salsa! You really can't go wrong here. One of my favorite restaurants by far!!

COCKTAILS: We first showed up at EnVie looking for excellent cocktails, and we were not disappointed, in fact I think we have found the best bartender in town-- Travis! He's a mixologist, and worked hard to give me what I really wanted-- a clover club with a twist-- a pink lady! They use amazing ingredients, from house made pomegranate grenadine and maraschino cherries. He was down to teach us a few things too, about apple brandy and showed us a special botanical gin that we now buy for our home bar! FOOD: I just had my birthday dinner here and had been eyeing the scallop risotto for a while-- again, I was not disappointed. The scallops were huge, and well seared-- the risotto was rich and savory and all the flavors worked so magically together on the plate. DESSERTS: the desserts are always rotating so you never know what you'll be offered! I'm personally not a fan of chocolate desserts but they seem to usually have a selection of multiple chocolate desserts (cake, mousse), I usually go for the non-chocolate one-- the first dessert was unforgettable, this maple cheesecake from Detroit. The other desserts here like lemon raspberry cake are also pretty darn delicious, full of flavor, not too sweet. All in all, we're very grateful to have found a restaurant that "gets us" as foodies.

Amazing food and service from Katie!!! We got the pickle burger, and both chicken sandwiches. Katie was very helpful with our group having multiple allergies/intolerances. Definitely check this place out!

My friends wanted to do a girls night out in Lansing and as EnVie was already high in the Yelp locations for downtown it seemed perfect. We were easily able to make a reservation. There is a nice selection of winter cocktails out now featured in the photos which were very tasty. The food was AMAZING. I have never tried ricotta dip and it definitely hit the spot as a perfect appetizer. The veggie fries were also shared by the table and smothered with Gouda and Brussels. Finally the seafood risotto was so delicious. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and the ambiance of EnVie is also super cute and perfect for a date night as well. Would go back when I get the opportunity.

We adored EnVie and were very pleasantly surprised by how good all the food was. We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary and ordered the Cacio y Pepe and a Steak Bowl (I believe the EnVie Special Bowl, something along those lines). It was a bit of a last minute choice and the food was phenomenal. The atmosphere felt very cool and sleek and we enjoyed being in it. There was a homeless man lingering around outside the window for a few minutes but that's not the restaurant's fault by any means. Only thing that could've been better was the pouring of the wine; the server seemed a bit inexperienced with it but it wasn't a real issue. We would definitely come back and recommend!

Great meatloaf and a fantastic lemon raspberry cheesecake. Good chocolate cake and ice cream. The risotto could have been cooked a little more with a little more seasoning. Fries were delicious. Nice bright seat by the window. We will be back!

What an amazing restaurant! Fabulous food and great drinks. The scallops were amazing. Looking forward to coming back.

I have now been here three times and can say it has been top notch every time! I think consistency is one of the best qualities in a dining establishment and this place embodies that. The staff is attentive as soon as you walk through the door but never intrusive. The ambience is contemporary like one would expect stepping off the street in a large city, yet it still feels cozy. The seafood risotto is just delicious. Simple yet loaded with flavor! I do think they could use a larger shrimp like an 8-10 size. I have also had the cacio e Pepe as well. My boyfriend has had the steak, the famous bowl, the sea bass and reports all of those were delicious! We decided to get a dessert last night....the flourless chocolate cake. This happens to be my favorite dessert so I'm a bit of a connoisseur...it was one of the best. This one has a bit of blueberry compote (usually I prefer raspberry but this was a nice pairing as well). My date isn't a big fan of chocolate desserts but loved it too! It has a very subtle sweetness that doesn't leave you feeling like you are on a sugar high. A truly elegant ending to the meal. The ONLY thing I'm not a fan of here is the bar stools....too short for the bar and I feel like my chin is on the table. Maybe next time I can get a booster. we will be back....again and again! Excellent food and drinks. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. When I made the reservation, they asked if we were celebrating anything. When we were seated, there was a birthday card waiting for him signed by staff. The service was excellent. We will definitely return.

Everything about EnVie was absolutely fabulous! The staff was attentive and personable, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect for our crew. I had the scallops and they were some of the best I have ever had, ever! I live out of town but will definitely come back to EnVie every time I am in Lansing!!

Well-- I felt so uncomfortable there- our server and I will not name her- was not friendly from the very start. I left feeling bad. I felt the entire staff had an attitude of negative,. love the menu and the concept and the place, super cool and cute , but-- just not feeling very welcome there. Food was fine and that is ok, hot and cooked well. It was more about the service we had the problem

We have wanted to try this place for sometime and decided to tonight after seeing all the precautions they're taking. Tonight was the first night we had to report our name and phone because of the state orders and contact tracing, not a big deal whatsoever! We know how important it is to support these businesses in this time. Food was phenomenal and we will be back to enjoy different entrées. They have reasonable prices and I would love to get the chicken sandwich to go sometime. Also not sure how they made their fries but they're amazing as well as the asparagus. We are thankful for servers like the one we had, Josh, who is working during these challenging times! He was great and we will be back.

What a fun find. Have been coming to this part of Lansing annually but hadn't been able to try this place due to their hours, and my schedule. Made it work this trip and man was it good. Great food, service, cocktails and wine.

I made a reservation here for 5pm to celebrate our first Leap Year anniversary. We didn't tell them it was a special occasion, as it was our first time here and wanted to see how good it was. We were seated promptly exactly at 5pm. Our server, Katie, was friendly. We didn't have to ask for anything the entire time we were there. Everything was prompt and her service was the best in recent memory. We ordered a whiskey sour and a drink special (something vodka based). The drink special had crystal clear ice stamped with an "E". Nice touch. Whiskey sour was made correctly with an egg white and perfect. Entrees were the lamb and seafood risotto. We shared each other's as we wanted to try both. Best lamb I've ever had. Grilled to a perfect medium rare with mustard cream glaze. Stellar! The seafood risotto had the best scallops I've ever had as well. Probably the two best entrees I've ever had in a restaurant... let alone a restaurant in Lansing, MI. The dessert was a light and fluffy peanut butter cheesecake thank you couldn't find a single fault with. In closing: it was magnificent. The service, food, treatment, decor, friendliness, prompt seating... I couldn't critique anything. They really know what they're doing here. $98 for dinner before tip, which for food of this caliber is a steal. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is a hidden treasure! How I can still meet people that have never been (or worse, never heard of it... gasping is appropriate) makes my head spin. The food is amazing. Any restaurant that can create the perfect bite, a mix of perfectly balanced flavors that not only compliment one another but layer together on a fork (or spoon) in a ballet of flavor is a 10 out of 10 for me. This is the place that makes that happen. The Duck Eggs Benedict is genius. I don't rather like eggs Benedict, but this is NOT that. Genius.

Drinks were great, food was fabulous, waitress was wonderful and atmosphere is very comfortable. A+++

The dirty fries are my favorite. Love that the menu evolves but the dirty fries are always on it. Atmosphere is wonderful. Wait staff attentive and professional. Food is delicious. My favorite place. Best to have a reservation.

Wow! Service was great! Food was great! Solid selection of reds. Not sure on whites, because my wife and I both preferred reds tonight. The cornflake encrusted sandwich my wife had was amazing! I had the bistro burger and it was also amazing! Do they have cooler more interesting items? Yep, they sure do. The couple next to us had fabulous steak Oscar. We chatted with them and they said it was phenomenal!

I had heard a lot of good things about EnVie, but the time my fiancé and I went we ended up sending everything back besides the drinks. The steak I got was way over cooked, and her seafood pasta dish was anything but fresh seafood. May give it a try in the future but the first time we were pretty put off.

My wife and I celebrated our 33rd anniversary at EnVie last night. We had been to EnVie about two years ago for cocktails and appetizers. We sat at the bar and had a great time Last night we had a table with a wonderful server, Katie H. She was fantastic. She was smiling, happy and welcomed our questions about the menu and cocktails. She was informative about everything EnVie and made great suggestions without being pushy about her preferences. I had the Rye Manhattan. The bartender did a great job in mixing and serving this drink. I asked for a sample of the brown ale and was given a hearty taste of the beer. It was so good that I had this beer as my follow-up drink. My wife had the honey-vodka infused seltzer which she thoroughly enjoyed. We shared the Ricotta and Goat Cheese Dip on sea salt crostini's. It was great. Just a hint of sweetness from the cherry coulis drizzled on top of the spread. For dinner my wife had the Chilean Sea Bass with basmati rice and a red pepper sauce. She raved about this dish. I had the EnVie burger with fries. One of the best burgers I've had in the greater Lansing area. The meat was seasoned perfectly and topped with creamy brie, candied bacon and a fried egg. All served on a pretzel bun. This burger did not need any additional condiments, it was that good. The environment/atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion or date night. This place just had a wonderful feel to it and made the entire evening truly special for our anniversary dinner. It is a mix of both younger and older couples. It is a place anyone would feel comfortable sitting at the bar or a table. Envie is truly a gem located in downtown Lansing. We plan to visit often.

Such a fantastic dinner. Everything was delicious including the seafood risotto and chicken bowl. However, the Southern dirty fires were simply amazing. These will be a must order every time we return! Great cocktails and wine. Bottles of wine very reasonably priced. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Just overall a lovely night out.

Ok ....really good! Party of 7 and we all loved our meal. Rossoto...check. duck salad....check. Chicken bowl, sea bass, filet...check. It was all great and well prepared. 4 stars only for the lengthy process. Recommend.

I had no idea Lansing was home to so many uber-critical epicureans on Yelp. As a newcomer to the "scene" here (All three blocks of it) I see many feel EnVie owes the citizenry an explanation for what they do six days a week. Here's my advice: don't explain. Some of us get it. This town is lucky to have a venue that took a chance on you all. Start figuring things out. They'll wait. The wine list has a great point of view. Combining lunch and dinner menus is also rather brilliant; guests have options if they aren't used to a $36 entree. There is something for everyone without embarrassing yourselves for sitting down without first looking online. In fact, a smile and sympathetic pat on your heads for jumping online to complain without having first investigated EnVie before you were shocked here and then complaining..... online. Oh, and Shoutout to those who don't know what a tonic water tastes like until EnVie. At least you tried one. I recommend the tuna tartare they are running right now. The dusting of ever so subtle spice powdered tapenade (origin unknown) was perfection. And the duck Benedict is actually incredible. Wow. I'm coming back next week. I have a feeling EnVie has a lot more to show me.

EnVie looks like it would be at home in Chicago. Lots of white, black, and blonde wood. We sat at the bar while we waited for the other couple and had a few really good cocktails. The bartender was busy but engaging and friendly. We had a reservation and the others were running a bit behind so they held our table while we enjoyed our libations. So far, so good. Our companions showed up with their baby and asked if EnVie could warm up the bottle and the waiter literally rolled his eyes and said "anything to keep THAT quiet". WTF? When going over the menu and highlights of the restaurant, he spent more time talking about his experience and where he moved from than he did about what we were there for... the food and restaurant! We ordered and everybody seemed to like their food. I had the seafood pasta, and while the homemade pasta was incredible, there was a sweetness to the sauce that seemed out of place with the seafood. As we were cashing out, the waiter made it a point to stop by and say how well-behaved the baby was. Nice gesture, but the damage was already done. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll give them another shot as I'm curious about the menu and liked the ambiance... but if there's anymore asshat comments by the staff, it will be their last chance.
