Very nice coffee shop to stop by and relax. Their bakery items look delicious and taste amazing! Raspberry eclair covered in pistachio cream is delicious. Any of their bakery items worth trying! Coffee is also delicious, much better than Starbucks. They are very attentive and strive to serve you well!

While exploring the World Trade Center area, I stopped by Épicerie Boulud for a cappuccino. The café, located within the Oculus, offers a chic and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a quick coffee break or a leisurely sit-down. The cappuccino was delightful—smooth, well-balanced, and served at the ideal temperature. The baristas were friendly and efficient, ensuring a pleasant experience. The café also boasts a selection of fresh pastries and light fare, which looked tempting for a future visit. Overall, Épicerie Boulud provides a high-quality coffee experience in a convenient location. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area seeking a great cup of coffee in a comfortable setting.

Love at first sip — take it to-go, thank me later.🥰❤️

Lovely coffee food place. Clean. Friendly staff. Great place to stop off near the World Trade Center.

She doesn’t know how to how to give customer service. And they said their coffee is Italian but no it’s a lie. Teste is not good.

I visited Épicerie Boulud at the World Trade Center yesterday, early in the afternoon, and was shocked to see what appeared to be the manager taking shots with several employees. During business hours. This behavior is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the high standards this café is supposed to uphold. It was disturbing to witness and made me seriously question the professionalism of the entire staff. I am beyond disappointed. I expected excellence — instead, I witnessed a lack of basic professionalism and judgment. Épicerie Boulud, do better. This is NOT the environment you advertise, and it’s certainly not one I will be returning to or recommending to anyone.

Update: problem resolved, they open on time now - thank you for addressing customer concern promptly! Their food is fresh and well made, I like getting their sandwich and salad for my work breakfast and/or lunch. However, they NEVER open on time at 7am and there are so many workers getting busy getting the breads and food organized starting at 7am. There are always customers waiting by the door but no single person keeping track of the opening time. I walk away waiting for 15+ minutes with no food. Management needs to do a better job at managing this or change the open time entirely.

I don’t know what possessed me to step into this place on my lunch break, maybe poor judgment, maybe hunger-induced desperation. Either way, I regret every second. First of all, the service was slow. I ordered something simple and it still took forever. When it finally came out, it looked like someone dropped it on the floor and decided, “Eh, good enough.” The food? Bland. Dry. Confused. Like it didn’t know what it wanted to be when it grew up. I’ve had better flavor from chewing paper. The atmosphere was depressing, like a dentist’s waiting room but with a worse vibe. It smelled faintly of burnt disappointment and broken dreams. Safe to say, I left hungrier, angrier, and slightly concerned about my digestive future. If you’re considering going here, do yourself a favor: don’t. Go literally anywhere else. A vending machine would be a Michelin-starred upgrade.

Yelp
Great sit down spot while you are waiting to rest your legs from all the walking. This place was pretty efficient to pick up your order, but you do have to wait a little bit to get your meal even though it was fast food. It still took a 15 minutes to pick up the order. Ordered the coffee drip not great, ordered the Matcha delicious and the French Ham sandwich was warmed and fantastic. The soup combo to my lunch was an Italian wedding soup that was amazing, especially on a cold winters day and a long walk. And to top it all off, I had the caramel pecan eclair that was delicious and not overly creamy. Great for a quick café break and they had great seating available.

Yelp
Complete tourist trap, geared to the people who used to ask if they were in the first 5 cars of the 1 train for South Ferry. If you're in the mood to pay $20 for a bottle of water and the most precious grilled cheese you've seen in your life, then this is your spot. The béchamel sounds decadent as a sandwich filling but is in fact grotesque. Half of the sandwich also melted into its packaging before I had the chance to consume it.

Yelp
I wanted something quick to go and this place was perfect. I ordered the Jamon Buerre which is ham and cheese on a baguette with butter. Classic French sandwich. Except for the fact this sandwich had more ham than I typically get in France. I went during the week day lunch rush. I didn't wait too long. The service was great. I only ordered the sandwich so that's what my review covers. The baguette was fresh. The ham, cheese and butter ratio was on point. It was a large, filling sandwich. I would definitely order it again. I would've sat and ate in and ordered something to drink but the tables were packed. To go was the best option at lunch time.

Yelp
This coffee shop is inside Oculus, pretty neat! Ordered a cup of coffee and it was alright. Also ordered a sweet (forgot its name) and it tasted pretty good. I guess an alright and good balances to be OK Will definitely come here more often and give more tries

Yelp
I was at the Oculus shopping and I realized that I had a cash-back offer for Epicerie Boulud. I also really love their sandwiches. I went in and chose a sandwich for myself and my companion chose a salade nicoise. Both were excellent. I really loved the red pepper and mayonnaise on the chicken sandwich. The bread for the chicken sandwich was also very nice and soft. The seating area is comfortable and you get a nice view of the Oculus atrium. It's great for people watching.

Yelp
Very convenient location to wait for people. Has a lot of seating. Pastries are pretty delicious, coffee is decent.

Yelp
Located in the Oculus, seating available- pick from the individual tables or at the long communal table. Lots of choices for baked goods/pastries. Had chocolate croissant, gluten-free walnut brownie (dense and rich) and blueberry cheesecake (fresh berries, light and not so sweet). Priced between $4 - $6. Lavazza coffee brand, had decaf latte. Service can be improved though. Easy ordering at the counter then pick up when called, but the 2 people there last Saturday were straight-faced, no smiles.

Yelp
I visited September 11, 2023. Found the place by accident after it rained us out when visiting the memorial. This location is inside the Oculus World Trade Center, bottom floor. There is decent seating, but with everyone waiting out the rain, we played musical chairs for seats. The staff wasn't very friendly, but then again, it was after 6pm on a hectic day. *Bread pudding is delicious *Coffee is LavAzza, so good *Lots of menu and prepared food options *Nice spot to people watch and enjoy a nice meal We got bread pudding and coffee because all soup was sold out that day. The bread pudding was so good, we stopped sharing and bought a second slice. They are generous portions. Sandwiches looked okay, but definitely overpriced (that's coming from someone who lives in BK). Planning to visit again and will try hot food item and of course, another slice of bp .

Yelp
I had a great drink during happy hour! Environment was lovely overall a great little spot

Yelp
We got macarons and they were yummy! All the macarons come with a crunchy, airy crust with a nice variety of fillings. Macarons are not the cheapest though at 1/$3 or 4/$11. Vanilla - nice, cream filling. Not too sweet. My favorite! Lavender - very fragrant and floral. Cream center Pistachio - my second favorite. the nutty flavor really comes through. Rose - a little more mild and less floral than lavender. I wished the flavor of the rose is stronger. Passion fruit - it had a sweet-tart "jammy" filling. Nice Blueberry - another one with a "jammy" center. It tastes more like grape to me somehow. Not my fave. All of the macarons were excellent! It's a matter of preference which flavor you like more.

Yelp
REFINED French cakes and pastries, excellent croissant and coffee. Better than the surrounding cafe's for monring coffee. however recently they have b egun to play modern pop music, repetitive and loud, and if they continue, this will make it the worst of the cafes. Need alittle quiet in the morning, soothing music like old jazz or even... fifties or anything but modern radio music please. Rickie Lee Jones, tory amos, carine bailey raye and all the jones sounding singers are nice early. or dean martin and crooners. or the ramones. but please no modern hammerheads. Great food though. some of the servers are better than others. all it takes is a smile or a friendly word
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
The WTC Oculus and the storied Boulud name both deserve better than this sad, corporate coffee shop has to offer. My chai latte's principal flavor profile was aquatic, and my husband's coffee was so sweet he gagged on the first sip. The cinnamon scone was solid, but uneventful. At least they're keeping the prices low for such a tourist-adjacent area ($13.83 for both drinks and the scone.) But then again, with this food, they'd better.
google avatar

Prerna M.

Yelp
A bit on the expensive side but I loved my caramel latte. They used lavazza coffee beans which gave my drink an intense flavor balanced by caramel syrup.
google avatar

Daniel H.

Yelp
Disappointing on all food items - pastries and sandwiches. Tried their macarons, tart, salmon sandwich, dessert pie, etc. and all were average or below average. I loved the Daniel fine dining, but pastries don't seem to be their strong suit. Does not live up to the Boulud name.

Mayank M.

Yelp
Pathetic Chai Latte -- like please do not take it even its given for free. We took the hot one and it seemed to be all water. When we told this to the guys at the counter, they threw half, acted like they are re-doing something and it was same old bad, if not worse
google avatar

Raj S.

Yelp
Ordered some cakes today and it was just exquisite . They had a raspberry syrup / flavor inside . Tasted soooo good . Chocolate filling was so good . Was soft inside and very good taste . Almost tasted like black chocolate good service and quick checkout . They also have other stuff like tarts , croissant etc . Good overall

Al W.

Yelp
Great customer service lady at the till. Cobb salad was prepared nicely. Jasmine green tea unique flavour and had a little kick. Seating was clean and comfortable.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Hot chocolate is decent. Not too sweet but just sweet enough and very smooth. I recommend using oat milk for a creamier consistency. I asked for extra hot and it could have been served hotter.

Aidan C.

Yelp
Great Food, Great Service, Great Location however the drinks are pretty terrible in my experience. Ordered a quiche and a hot chai and while the quiche was delicious it was pretty expensive. The chai was honestly one of the worst i've ever had. It was watery and overall just not enjoyable.

Peter B.

Yelp
If you just want a quick drip coffee in the morning, skip this place. The drips aren't a quick grab like Starbucks. You have to wait along side the specialty drinks. I waited 18 minutes for a drip. Boo. Learned my lesson quick. Food is also kinda bland for the price you pay. I say skip this place and head to Starbucks upstairs or the other local eateries instead. Even though you're in the oculus, it's not an inviting place to sit either. It feels like sitting in a bustling transportation hub, which is essentially what it is.
google avatar

Alyssa V.

Yelp
This is my favorite bakery I stop by when I'm walking outside of the city and into the city. It's kind of my safe haven if I have to kill some time. Their coffee is good and their pastries are very good, I usually get a macaroon or almond croissant which always tastes fresh. And you can sit have a view of the oculus while contemplating your next steps or I usually wait for my friends to meet me here. They also have actual food and alcohol if you need something more Hardy.

Red D.

Yelp
Ngl i aint gonna tell shit about prices, but the fact that they Charge it for some crap that LITERALLY can be twice better if they would care, like, a cup of coffee is 4$ and taste like Water with cacao beans, and the funny part they sayin that its an french coffee, so if it's french why taste like rat acid? Cmon bruv, they could do it better than that
google avatar

Yelp
To the very unhappy, rude cashier: I'm sorry that you hate your job so much. Look around; there's lots of places hiring. To her coworkers: I'm sorry you have to put up with her. If she talks to paying customers like that, I can only imagine how she treats her coworkers. To future customers: order your food and enjoy it. Usually the places with the worst customer service have the best food. You know that, though.

Yelp
This morning I ordered a drink and a water. Matcha typically takes them about 4 mins to make. After being cashed by the tall, dark woman I went for my water and then stood by the waiting area. The other African woman asked me if I had been charged for the yogurt and motioned towards my bag. I asked , "what?" until she asked what I was waiting for then I told her my drink and she left me alone. Seeing that the short, slim woman had just started my matcha, I went downstairs to refill my card. Afterall, the woman who cashed me and the other African woman know that I am waiting for a drink. I come back 3 mins later (I'm aware of the time because there is a display for train departures and I'm watching a specific one) and there is no drink and the lady is not making it anymore. I had to ask 3 times before the other African woman said that no one answered when it was called and turned away. I had to ask again then she said they would make me another one. I told them i would come back tomorrow as I do not have time. But, after reflecting on this morning's experience, I will go back for a refund and never patronize this business again. The other African woman in the striped shirt asking me if I was charged for the yogurt, insinuating that I had stolen yogurt out of the refrigerator. Then knowingly tossing my drink when I was the only person waiting for one at the time is a perfect example of poor customer service. To be passively accused of stealing and then spitefully inconvenienced by someone who shares the same race as I is extremely disheartening and disrespectful. Also, how could it trust that something not be done to my drink in this environment where the other African woman was so comfortable with different unprofessional behaviors? *I watch every morning as numbers are called and drinks sit because the call goes unanswered. There was no reason my drink could not sit for less than 3 minutes. I will be coming Thursday or Friday expecting my refund. And I do not have my receipt because when the tall darker woman asked me, I declined. Will include screenshot of my proof-of-purchase in this review. Let me end by saying, the tall dark African woman has never given me reason to complain or write a review. This should in no way affect her.

Yelp
This review is based on their catering and not the in restaurant experience. For the last two years I have ordered the side dishes for Thanksgiving from Épicerie Boulud and not the turkey. They have a very low overall rating on Yelp which is surprising based on the standard of the owner. I frequent the main restaurant Daniel and know the standard of food and service they hold themselves to. It looks like most of the low star rating reviews are based on the coffee, latte or the prices. If you want quality food you need to expect to pay the price. I can say very comfortably that I've also been extremely happy with the food and never got sick or felt uncomfortable from any of Daniel Boulud's establishments. We ordered the Mac n Cheese, Chestnut Stuffing, Pom's Purée ( mashed potato ), Green Beans and Mushroom Fricassee. The prices per dish run from $36 to $42 and each one serves at least 6 or 7 people in my opinion. The food is outstanding and the sides give a different flavor and experience to the meal. You could cater your entire dinner or event if you want. Everything is pre-cooked and just needs about 30 to 40 minutes of reheating. I would highly recommend them for catering and hope most people use their common sense when deciding on trying them for everything else

Elaine W.

Yelp
I've frequented this place because of the proximity to work. I've tried their almond croissant, fresh squeezed juice, a Cuban sandwich, and their parfaits. Everything seemed pretty average at best, but the prices are high for sure - too high for what they actually are. But the convenient location works for me, so I keep coming back when I'm late to work and feel that I don't have many breakfast options. But with average food and high prices, at least the service is always quick, the staff is always friendly, and the dining area is clean. So I'll continue coming in when I'm hungry and short on time.
google avatar

Monica C.

Yelp
I come here quite often for my morning coffee on the way to work. I usually get the cafe au lait and their chia seed pudding. Their chia seed pudding consists of oats and chia seeds soaked in coconut milk, with puréed mango and goji berries. The flavor combination is just so perfect and is the perfect portion for a quick breakfast or a treat. The service here is generally pretty quick and friendly. Their baked goods are also really good, especially their chocolate chip cookies. They do also have items that are made to order, but I have yet to try that. Would recommend!

Yelp
Conveniently located in the Oculus right by the PATH entrance, Épicerie Boulud is a great place to grab coffee on the go or a snack. The shop is beautiful and bigger than it looks. They have a lot of food options, from salads to sandwiches and pastries. It is usually busy as this area is not only packed with tourists but also commuters (Fulton St subway station also accessible through Oculus) but I always end up finding a seat when I need. The workers are nice and checkout is super quick. They also have a bar inside. They do a great job at keeping the shop clean considering the volume of people that come in and out. On my last visit, I had a small Cobb salad that I really enjoyed. I usually come for coffee so don't have much to say on the food.

Sridevi K.

Yelp
They gave a wrong drink for what we asked for Way overpriced Rushy and not the best quality of place Worst ever
google avatar

Petrina R.

Yelp
I was really hoping to have enjoyed the experience at Epicerie Boulud, but I did not enjoy the coffee or the croissant. The service is very good, but maybe next time I will just stick with the coffee. They are in a great location - neighbors to the Apple store. Oh, and the best part is they're in the Oculus where there are plenty of other food shops and shopping.
google avatar

Toby L.

Yelp
Was looking for a coffee and a cake/ bun/ treat somewhere warm and dry. In the age of Covid and no sitting in cafes this can be tricky. Walked a few extra blocks to this spot, and ate in their "outside" area which is in the main section of the Oculus. We had cappuccino, drip coffee, chocolate croissant, warm bread and jam. The warm bread and jam was excellent and made us both smile. Worth dropping in if you need a civilised tea / coffee and snack and are taking a break from train / Path.
google avatar

Al H.

Yelp
I saved up enough to get the Breakfast sandwich for lunch. It was served up within minutes of ordering, as I looked up from my phone, i was notified my sandwich was ready. Served on a really nice brioche bun. The egg was not runny, but even with that, it was delish. Thank you, Monsieur Boulud!

Yelp
This was a nice place to sit down and grab a bite to eat. I was waiting around for an Yelp event to start and decided to come here to see what I could get to snack on, or eat. To my surprise they had it all with reasonable prices. It was also happy hour. I was able to eat my chilli at the bar along with the drink I ordered. They had they own lil menu that you could order from, but I pick up from a hot food case, they had inside the store. They had other tables you could sit down at as well. The glass of wine I ordered went well with the chilli, and the piece of bread I received with it was yummy as well. My chilli was hot and very meaty. It had black beans rather than red, I was ok with that, black beans are the best to me. The wine was a nice red Malbec, and for a small lil bar top, I found a seat quickly. The staff was awesome, and very helpful. If your in the area, or about to hop on the path, grab a bite, I would again.
google avatar

Frank A.

Yelp
Epicerie Boulud is not your typical fast food spot. Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud is the mastermind of Epicerie Boulud so the food is better and more creative than the usual food court fare (and of course the price reflects it). Epicerie Boulud has a good selection of beer and wine as well. If you were a fan of Boulud's now shuttered DBGB Kitchen & Bar, Epicerie Boulud has a great DBGB Hot Dog worthy of the name.
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
It was a pricy coffee and cakes because of the location. The store is right at the corner before people can get on the PATH train. Now, the seating is back and you can enjoy your coffee. You must try their cake when doing high tea.
google avatar

Ashish J.

Yelp
Complicated name for a rather simple fare served with reasonable pace. Busy location so it's setup to handle crowds but the seats get occupied fast by patrons and non-patrons alike. It's fairly small inside but has a bar, barista station, food (see pic for menu), and a grab-n-go (after you pay) shelves. Tried their veggie panini and it passed the dorm-room test (viz- you are in a dorm room without a proper kitchen and you need to make a panini that you are willing to eat).
google avatar

Shaji K.

Yelp
Simple cafe off to the side in the Oculus (near the Apple store). Basic breakfast and lunch items with deals for happy hour for the after-work crowd. Thursday morning, placed an order for pickup to beat any work-time rush, so was able to skip the line once I arrived. Ordered the Jambon de Paris and an Iced Cappucino ($14ish total). Breakfast sandwich is a combination of ham patty, egg, and cheese all inside a warm brioche bun. A bit on the greasy side, but overall fine flavor. Iced cappuccino didn't actually have any ice in it for some reason, although the drink was cold. Okay option for breakfast, especially if there is no line. Something to try for grab and go items as well.
google avatar

Lourdes M.

Yelp
I need to get a cup of coffee while waiting for some friends on the day of my visit. It is the only coffee spot located in the center of Oculus - the advantage of this place is that it is close to everything that Oculus has to offer. A perfect meeting place. As expected the price of their commodity is higher because of its location. It has good seating plan - has good view of the commuters and tourists that are going either way ,a perfect stand to be a witness to all that is happening. Clean and modern coffee shop . Wifi is free.
google avatar

Karly K.

Yelp
Exquisite quiche. Ordered the quiche Parisienne which was oozing with gruyere and hearty chunks of ham and veggie in a fluffy egg pie! Flakey, melt in your mouth crust. It came with a nice side salad in a lemony vinaigrette. I also enjoy their iced matcha lattes which are large in size (the small) with no added sweetness like at Starbucks. Would highly recommend this spot -- I believe they host happy hour too. Be warned that the prices here are high, but it is a French pastry shop in FiDi so no surprise.
google avatar

Rossana A.

Yelp
I really love and recommend their cappuccino and pain au chocolate. Was very disappointed however with their caneles. Tried one and could not taste any rum in it.
google avatar

Yelp
The food may look good but it's not worth the wait and aggravation. I decided to pick up something sweet after lunch so keeping it simple, get one of their desserts. It's in the display, all ready, just need to put in box, put in bag with utensils and maybe some napkins and it's good to go... NOPE...not the case....I've waited 6-7 minutes....the cashier had to tell the staff 3 times to pack the coffee cake to go...but the staff were busy filling up the sauces and packing things away. The line to order was getting longer... After I got my cake, the lady just handed to me in a box with a fork to go. I guess no bag was needed for to go orders..good thing it's a small item so I can hold it in my hand...but can you imagine shoving a sandwich, a drink and dessert and THEN asking if you need a bag? It seems like only 2 people running the show at 2pm so maybe better to go when it's super busy as they might be quicker...or super slow with less people. And the food...the coffee chocolate gateau was rated 1 star out of 5 as it's only a mediocre cake with a hint of chocolate and coffee. It's not worth $6.50. It's worth more around $4.00 and I expected better quality for $6.50 so my rating is graded based on that bracket.

Yelp
We had coffee and a chocolate croissant. That was it. Prices are outrageous, as are all things in the area, but that's what it is. My husband had a mocha latte, I had regular coffee. He loved the chocolate croissant. One thing I will say is that even though the place was dead, it took forever to get the mocha latte.

Harika K.

Yelp
I had a pistachio macaron and pain au chocolat. The macaron wasn't too sugary, the texture was nice, but it wasn't as light as I hoped. I would normally get a plain croissant to get an unbiased idea of the pastry quality, but they were out which was odd. The chocolate croissant had Nutella in it, so I enjoyed it thoroughly. The pastry quality itself was good, but not as fluffy or flavorful as I had hoped. My top pick for a croissant in NYC is still Maman. This place was good for the US, and the price was reasonable for the quality, but they definitely weren't up to par with common Parisian standards (which is what they seem to be hyping themselves up as). I would've rated them higher if not for the hype.

Ngoc P.

Yelp
Ugh. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. First thing's first, the food is amazing. All the baked goods; cakes, cookies, croissants, everything. I've had every single sweet thing on the menu since they've opened and every item was nothing short of stellar. HOWEVER. The service is absolutely terrible. There is no queue so everyone stands around or cuts you in line. The staff is awful. Half of them are rude, the other half is clueless, and maybe 1-2 people are actually helpful. I'm typically very patient but my god, I HATE going here. Nowadays, I just order ahead on an app (Ritual) just to avoid all the nonsense. I've had wrong orders, been skipped in line, selectively ignored, had my card snatched, been charged the wrong items. You name it. Clearly an under-trained and underpaid staff. The turnover is ridiculous too. I see new faces every month. It's unfortunate because the prices are rather high so I'd expect experienced and decent service. But nevertheless I still go every week and deal with the bad service because I know the baked goods are incredible. My family adores the cakes and croissants. My fiance loves their basque cake and I think their croissants are top 5 in the city. I really do wish they'd just get their act together. Sometimes I have to force myself to walk past the bakery because I don't want to ruin my day with their terrible service.
google avatar

Lana L.

Yelp
Wanted to grab a quick late lunch here. Ordered the Suckling Pig Cubana. Waited 22 minutes and hadn't gotten it yet. Followed up on my order. Waited another 5 minutes, then finally got my sandwich. I really wanted it to be good given I had to wait nearly half an hour for it, but it was just super average (or even a little below average). I would not purchase again. I would have given 3 stars, but will give this place 2 stars instead because of the long wait.
google avatar

Kyra J.

Yelp
The location is stunning and the chairs have super comfortable cushions. I feel like I am sitting in the future. Literally the view underground is breathtaking. However, food is expensive. I know location location...drinks are OK, but food is a bit overpriced. They have a hh Monday to Friday 4-7 so that may be worth checking out. Great place to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the stunning building design of the Oculus!

Diana R.

Yelp
The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. We had extraordinarily friendly service from the bartender and left feeling that we'd had more than a delicious meal--we'd had one of those terrific New York moments.
google avatar

Mej N.

Yelp
Conveniently located on my way to and from work. Stopped in a few times during HH for reasonably priced food and drinks. Nothing exciting but was really going for the ambiance. Place kept clean and staff were friendly enough. Self service if you would like to use their "out door space" as in the space outside of their bar area which is not outside. This after all is in a mall of sorts.

Cynthia S.

Yelp
Cashiers are terrible. They don't even know how to package a dessert. For a place that charges $3 a macron, one wild expect they'd at least know how to box the damn thing.
