A Waterfront Restaurant in Sausalito Is Closed — Sort Of | Eater SF

"Reimagined as a morning cafe and a showcase for the owner's consumer-products line, the upstairs space currently operates limited mid-morning to early-afternoon hours on select days and doubles as an events venue. The concept launched in early 2025 after the owner acquired and rebranded a longstanding local breadstick company; the waterfront views and menu items such as mushroom toast are being used to promote packaged products with plans to pursue national distribution by summer 2025. Though management says events are booked into 2026, the cafe is intended to be temporary — handing the space over to private events by September — and inconsistent online hours and permit-related confusion have led to frustrated patrons." - Paolo Bicchieri

My kids and I had a wonderful breakfast experience at Era Cafe in Waunakee!❤️ I regret not checking out this place as soon as they opened, but better late than never! I’m so happy that we have such a delightful breakfast place in town! Era Cafe is really a vibe! We chose different dishes: I had corned beef hash, my daughter ordered country fried steak, and my son had crème brûlée toast, and they were all heavenly delicious! The beverages were just as delicious! Special shoutout to our server, Emma, who provided excellent service and took care of us with a smile and very positive attitude. We will definitely come back!

My husband and I loved our breakfast this morning. I ordered the country fried steak, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and pancake. He had the French Toast. Everything was delicious, and the service was also excellent. Our server was very friendly. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice, and it was the best I think I've ever had. The potatoes, and my country fried steak were perfectly done & the atmosphere was beautiful. We will certainly be back. This is now one of my favorite breakfast places. ❤️

The atmosphere is great! It kinda feels like a very high-end place but also has a very homey feel. The food was great. The potatoes in my meatlovers skillet were some of the best I've had since starting my Saturday breakfast trips! The fruit on the French toast was massive compared to most places I've been to. Plus they put different garnishes on each dish. Our waitress was very delightful. She eagerly waited in us and answered what questions the other person who joined me asked. Plus after we were done, she was very friendly and talkative. Her name was Evelyn. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good breakfast and an amazing atmosphere. I plan on going again sometime!

Breakfast was great! The pancake is the best I've had too. My wife loved her omelet so that will be her go to item in future visits.

Loved everything about our experience. Our sever was awesome and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere was so cute and well done. The iced shaken espresso was great! The banana split french toast was beyond amazing and the presentation was a beautiful surprise!

I randomly stumbled into this place with my 6 year old daughter and decided to give it a try. The vibe is SO CUTE and we were pleasantly surprised! We both got pancakes for dinner (because why not) and they were delicious. They had a nicely folded kid’s menu with some activities. Our server was lovely and very timely. The place was very clean and cute (including the bathrooms!) and we had a lovely time! Pancakes were 👌. We will definitely be back!!

After an active morning, my husband and I stopped by Era Cafe for brunch. This was our first dining experience in Waunakee and we were both very impressed. The vibe of Era Cafe is modern and chic but homey. I was a big fan of their decor and design. And the food was even better! I ordered the blueberry cheesecake pancakes with a side of breakfast potatoes. The serving size was very generous, and whoever came up with blueberry cheese pancakes is a genius. My husband got the country fried steak. He was very pleased with his meal and blown away by how much food you get for such a fair price. Everything was so delicious. I have a feeling we will visit again the next time we want a tasty brunch!

My family came here for the first time today! And over all was pretty happy. When we were sat we were given waters right away. Ordered our daughter’s food and looked over the menu for ourselves. I was really looking for a “WOW” dish that was different from the rest of the brunch spots and only really saw a crème brûlée French toast which I thought looked great. They don’t offer smaller portions of French toast or of pancakes etc which really sucks because I like a little bit of savory and sweet.. So we ended up ordering that, a side of potatoes and the classic Benedict. All of the food came out speedy quick and my daughters plate as well as my boyfriends plate were very filled and looks delicious. BUT when I got mine I was so disappointed 😭 for $16 with no extra side, all it was, was two pieces of French toast with a little bit of the crème brûlée cream in between them… luckily I got a side of breakfast potatoes to go with because I finished $8 per piece of French toast in less than 90 seconds. It was delicious don’t get me wrong but I’ve never seen such a small portion of French toast in my life 😔 thankfully my boyfriend shared his delicious meal with me! Overall really good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to drive 20 minutes here again/:

Yelp
Our 2nd visit. Just as wonderful as our first. Thank you especially to the bartender for the wonderful looking cocktail as well as tasty!

Yelp
I took out food on a Friday evening. It was not that busy at that time. Oreo infusion pancakes was my favorite item. It was real big. I got 2 and couldn't finish it. May be I could have finished one. Nashville chicken and waffle and Corned beef was good.

Yelp
Food was delicious! There were tons of options to pick from on the menu. Service was very fast. We didn't have to wait for a table for 2 on a Sunday morning. The "side" pancake could be a whole meal on its own. Best pancakes I've had!

Yelp
Went here for brunch with my daughter and the food was phenomenal! Coffee and service was great as well. The decor is super pretty and reminds me of an upscale Chicago cafe. We'll be back again and again.

Yelp
A breakfast/brunch destination in Waunakee is Era! Many choices but the crepes with fresh fruit were wonderful. Go easy on the pancake order unless you're really hungry.

Yelp
Great service! Very quick and a variety of foods. Had the ham, fig, and cheese crepe.

Yelp
Had breakfast here with my family of 9, and everything was great! Our entire family, kids included, all enjoyed our meals. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the omelettes were cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and handled our big group with ease. This place is definitely a must-try--highly recommend for a fantastic family breakfast!

Yelp
As long as they serve potatoes ONLY deep fried we will not eat there again. The other products are very good except for the pancakes that break apart when you put a fork in them. We hope that they soon recognize that they not competing with MacDonalds or Culvers.

Yelp
Very busy when we went and service was still excellent. The food was delicious and filling. For as busy as they were we received our foot pretty quick. We will definitely be going again!

Yelp
Gluten free pancakes were genuinely not edible despite the berries and whip cream, they tasted absolutely awful. Both of us who got gluten free couldnt finish more than a bite or two. Waitress was super unfriendly and didnt appear to know how to handle a table of 6 people. the coffee was the only highlight.

Yelp
Won't eat here again. Seated next to a construction crew working on the booths next to us. They were drilling, pounding talking loud disrupting we could not hear each other. Everyone else in restaurant was seated in another room. When I asked to speak to manager, she came said she would be right back but never showed up and we had to leave. WHY DIDN'T THEY MOVE US. I mentioned the noise and the waitress said, "We didn't know they would be working back here". Service is a big part of the experience

Yelp
This restraunt is a place you never want to go, rude waitress, the food was so cold, also the workers had attitude the whole time
