This new wine bar is such a wonderful addition to this area and is definitely worth checking out even for those who don't live nearby. They have a very unique variety of wine that is more interesting than the typical French/Italian/California wine list, and food way beyond the standard cheese boards and flatbreads you typically find at a wine bar. The cocktail list was internationally-inspired too (amaro, tequila, cognac, and even cachaca!) but we did not try any cocktails. The decor is beautiful, lots of marble and "wine red" drapes, modern touches, and comfortable leather and upholstered seating (so hard to find in new restaurants).
The food was delicious and represented a wide variety of spices and flavors, and everything went great with wine. They had small plates and appetizers, a couple of large entrees, and a few desserts. We had the dates (stuffed with goat cheese and pistachio), olives (marinated in garlic and lemon), chickpeas (stewed in tomatoes, garlic, parsley, paprika, and other spices), shrimp (in garlic chimichurri), and lamb sliders (with cucumber, onion, tzaziki). The server was so helpful in recommending wines and food. You can order wines by the glass (3 oz, 6 oz, or 9 oz pours), and there is a "shop" with a much bigger selection, where you can buy bottles to go. We were able to taste an Austrian Zweigelt Rose, South African Pinotage, Spanish Malbec, Uruguayan Tannat Blend, Turkish Selda Red, and South African Sparkling Rose.
They also offer options for private events downstairs, as well a club where you can store bottles in their cellar and get discounts and access to special events such as tastings. Also, for parents, they do have high chairs and changing tables in the restrooms.
